Tendentious IP

Ponyo, another editor referred me to you about an IP you may be familiar with: User:2605:E000:9161:A500:180A:2748:F6F8:136F. Would you mind looking at the edits on the talk page for Victoria (TV series)? We differ on whether a character was forced to submit to a pelvic exam when the Queen ordered it be done and she has no choice in the matter. The IP insists the character, who is a member of the Queen's household, wasn't forced to submit because she wasn't physically forced (i.e. in the manner of slaves), just compelled by the Queen's order in the belief she was pregnant. He/she seems to think that was voluntary, given there were no chains or shackles, etc. I've provided the Oxford definition of force, which includes compulsion against will, which was very clearly what happened to the character in the episode, but the discussion is getting nowhere as the IP's responses become increasingly incoherent. Absent the word force, it materially altered the description of events, which nearly created a crisis early in Victoria's reign, so it needs to be there (or a decent synonym, at least, which he/she also won't consider.) I was told this might be an editor from NI who has exhibited this pattern on other articles, particularly relating to rape. Any help would be appreciated. ----Dr.Margi 04:07, 1 October 2017 (UTC)

@Drmargi: this IP is editing from California, so it's not likely to be the same editor (unless they're travelling?). If there is no block evasion, then this comes down to a content dispute. If if the dispute is only between you and the IP, you can request a third opinion.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 23:17, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
It's funny: the IP comes up in two locations, depending on which search tool is used. The big issue is the long screeds that make little or no sense. Sigh. I'll try your suggestion. Thanks for your thoughts. ----Dr.Margi 01:50, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

Socks at AfD?

My little pony, I think Bhernyy and UncleBre are socks, per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ckay. I could indef UncleBre per WP:Obvious sock is obvious, but Bhernyy has been here since March, creating both viable and non-viable articles, so I'd like to be sure about them. And also whether they have more socks. Pinging Oluwa2Chainz and User:Ammarpad to keep them in the loop. Bishonen | talk 19:47, 2 October 2017 (UTC).

I'm fairly certain that this is a yet another sock of Kkm010. It's possible that there could be sleepers so I think a check may be worthwhile. Thanks. —MBlaze Lightning T 09:01, 7 October 2017 (UTC)

Begoon might be interested in this. Also, Utcursch, you've started getting impersonating usernames now. —SpacemanSpiff 00:40, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
Heh - it's funny you should mention it. Yes, this certainly looks like Kkm again - account creation timing and idiosyncratic editing overlap are as ducky as ducks get. I'd already left myself a note before MBlaze mentioned it here, just hadn't got around to doing anything yet. -- Begoon 00:51, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

I think we should delete it, per DENY. I've got rid of all the links: [1] except a weird one to a 2008 Help archive that must be cached somewhere. Can't see that matters, really, so I think you should be good to go. -- Begoon 05:18, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

Vicks

Hi P, is there any way to check for socks of Vickydvignesh? This guy reeks of sock of someone. I see several intersections with Vicky, like at Vivegam and Veeram (2014 film). He recreated P. V. Vanaja Bai and the current version is almost identical to this deleted version. Interestingly, SpacemanSpiff deleted that article, and this new guy has adopted "Spiff" into his name. I believe sock operator Pv.abhinav was behind the P. V. Vanaja Bai article, so that is a very likely avenue to explore. Thanks! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:14, 8 October 2017 (UTC)

@Cyphoidbomb: That is definitely Abhiran (the last incarnation of Pv.abhinav), the sock was created right after I blocked the earlier one and that seems to match with the MO, although sometimes there are a few parallel ones. But using some part of my name is nothing new, many sock farms do that, Virajmishra involves my mum in things, Johny Johny loves to use variants of my name and so on. I'll let Ponyo figure out if there are more, but I'll block this one; there's an off-chance that this is just an account with a for-hire notice somewhere. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 00:36, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
@SpacemanSpiff and Cyphoidbomb: Intelli-Spiff is  Confirmed to Abhiran. They're using multiple devices on multiple ranges via multiple ISPs, so the chance of discovering a sleeper is minimal.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 18:17, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, now if I could only match my socks every morning, like I do on here, I'd be a happy man! —SpacemanSpiff 18:20, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

Obvious sock

Hey P, This is an obvious sock, I think it's linked to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Jaswanthvijay but I haven't followed this area in a while (which is also why that SPI hasn't been updated), but can you or Cyphoidbomb take a look? There's obvious TV promo going on, just see the history of Colors (Viacom 18). I think a duck block is in order but I just would like the opinions of someone else familiar with this area. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 13:57, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi Spiff, I did a rough editor analysis on this guy and some (not all) of the Jaswanthvijay socks, but I didn't see much intersection, except with Devmahatma. I think Vimalraj Selvakumar has about as many intersections with Li wei ran, but I don't know that they're connected. I don't see any obvious sock candidates in the first article the new guy edited and I don't see many obvious candidates in many of the subsequent articles he's edited. Most of the edits I've seen have been fairly cosmetic. However his creation of two categories is suspicious for a new user, as are his creations of various templates Template:Golden Petal Awards, Template:Colors Golden Petal Awards. The latter was previously created by sock operator Chander. Very odd that this guy would create two templates for what I assume is the same award. Anyway, I see potential socking but I'm not clear on who the master is. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:55, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
The tie-in with Li wei ran is possible based on some behavior. Like look at Ennarugil Nee Irundhaal (TV Series). The article goes from creation to redirect in one day. Same with Colors Hindi. Boom: article creation, edit edit edit, redirect. Strange behavior. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:00, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
Pretty sure 106.203.25.66 is Vimalraj Selvakumar. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:33, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
Yes, that's him, and the geolocation matches earlier ones (Madipakkam, about 20km from the current geolocation). If you aren't seeing article overlaps, it's because the channel ownership changed (Colors vs ETV) and Raj TV has a tie-up with Colors for dubbing the Hindi series to Tamil and so on. The topic continues to be the same narrow region, just different articles as two years is a lot in the world of television :) —SpacemanSpiff 15:43, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
See Talk:ETV Network for my explanation of this mess from a couple of years back, the sock had posted to AN, which is how I apparently got to it. —SpacemanSpiff 15:51, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
He's admitting to block evasion, Cyphoidbomb do you want to ask him the name of his original account? I'd be surprised if it isn't Jaswanthvijay. —SpacemanSpiff 16:11, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
Note that and Li wei ran are confirmed to each other, so if you block one you should probably block both. Any master would be stale, so CU can't really help with that.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 18:41, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
I've blocked both, they are definitely socks of Jaswanthvijay or Arnav (mild likelihood) though I think Arnav and Jaswanthvijay may also be connected -- just didn't come through when we ran CU back then. I've tagged as suspected socks of Jv and given the self-confirmed block evasion, I don't think there's much of an issue. But, while cleaning up, I came across another sock farm but I'll keep that for another day, I've had way too much for now! cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 19:04, 11 October 2017 (UTC)
@SpacemanSpiff: Arnav19 was a huge pain in my ass. Super low competence. He's largely the reason User:Cyphoidbomb/Campaign of Ignorance exists. Very prolific editor who understood ZERO of our various MOS norms, couldn't communicate here, and basically used the same problematic template over scores of articles he created, and then other fly-by-night editors would copy those problems to other articles. Awful mess. Hey Ponyo, in your reply, did you mean that Vimalraj Selvakumar and Li wei ran were confirmed to each other? Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:58, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
Not to speak for P, but I think that's what she meant and I've noted it via edit summary on the account. Also, that has been self-confirmed by Li in the unblock request. The account has been blocked on ta.wiki for copyvios and disruption and I went there and alerted the blocking admin. The only difference from Jv is that he's now changed ISPs from BSNL to Airtel because Airtel offers cheaper plans and better speed -- just see the speed of edits now and compare to the past! BTW, both these socks have submitted unblock requests, one on tp and the other on UTRS —SpacemanSpiff 04:16, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
@Cyphoidbomb: Sorry yes, it's Vimalraj Selvakumar who is confirmed to Li wei ran. That was a pretty important piece of information I forgot to paste into my reply!--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 16:30, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
He created another sock "Ranji Weimali" right after posting in his latest unblock request that he isn't going to create any more socks! —SpacemanSpiff 10:45, 13 October 2017 (UTC)

Lame sock

Hi P, what do you suppose is the likelihood that Bikram 007 and Phaenix 007 are the same person at Talk:Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai? The behavior kind of reminds me of this recent ANI case, where a user from (roughly) Southern California was needlessly being irritating on talk pages, and took exception to article protection. I notice that a US IP followed the Bikram / Phaenix 007 edits as well, although it seems to geolocate to Florida. Anyway, I know you can't comment on the IP stuff, but if the Bikram account was created by the same guy, that would be annoying. If you can look into it, thanks, if not, thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:47, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

Nomination of The Try Guys for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article The Try Guys is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Try Guys until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Bearcat (talk) 18:32, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

@Bearcat: I only created the redirect, the article content was created by Wikiedit736938476439877 so they should probably be the one notified of the AfD.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 18:55, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
I'm aware of that. Unfortunately Twinkle doesn't allow its users to select who the AFD notification goes to — it probably should, but as written it just automatically notifies the page's creator regardless of whether they created the article version or the redirect version. Bearcat (talk) 18:58, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

Bill Fagerbakke

I was only adding sources of his birth date, I wasn't violating anything at all. If I did, I'm sorry. Also, the (birth date and age) template is broken and you must have undid it by accident, is it ok if you quickly fix it? I semi protected the page for a couple of weeks as opposed to revoking talk page access for the entire 6 month block. Sometimes this works better as it prevents them from IP hopping to continue the disruptive talk page edits, and it also accounts for the fact that the IP may switch to another user in the interim who requests a legitimate unblock.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:32, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

Hhhhhkohhhhh I already reverted the Solomoon101 edits. There have been several edits by uninvolved editors since Afghanrocky1001 made their changes, so it would be more difficult (and I don't have enough knowledge of the subject to separate the good edits from the bad). There is no point in blocking the IP as it's not currently active and the only article it edited is now semi-protected.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:02, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
But this article Shaheen Asmayee F.C. did not revert without uninvolved editing. Hhhhhkohhhhh (talk) 21:08, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
Because I dind't see it. I've restored the article to its pre-socking version and semi-protected it. An admin or CU doesn't need to be the one to undo the edits - see WP:BANREVERT.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:04, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

I revert and explain this in the edit summary and have posted on the talk page about it, but the edits continue. Funcrunch I'm always surprised/disheartened to see editors with thousands of edits under their belt be either completely unaware of BLP policy, or outright ignoring it. I did add a hidden note to the lead and commented on the talk page. We'll see if it helps.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:11, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

R/D

Hello Ponyo. To my eye the edits by this IP are vile and might be eligible for R/D. When you have s moment would you please take a look. Thanks for your time. MarnetteD|Talk 20:26, 23 October 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for your expertise

Your edit on one of my basic motivating articles was much appreciated. I tried to follow my suspicions and gave up when I realized they collided with WP:AGF. I couldn't do what you do. I have some basic questions but it's better for my feeling of sanity not to know the answers. Hey P, Could you take a look at this please? I've already blocked one of the listed accounts. He's now started doign something different by creating sleeper accounts and keeping them active on unrelated topics until the need arises. He's also been good at masking technical stuff in the past, so a sweep for "related" accounts will definitely be helpful. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 01:08, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

I've made some notes on the SPI; not sure how helpful it was though. Sorry! --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 17:26, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
  • Bbb is the only CU really familiar with this chap (after Elockid went walkabout) and sadly he doesn't look at SPIs now. More often than not behavior is the thing that should get LX blocked, the technical evidence is typically weak and takes months to catch up. e.g. look at the 4th and 12th OCt 2016 sections on the archives and compare to the 24th Dec 2016 filing. The prior sock I blocked was FootballCricket and that turned out to be inconclusive on CU. ParathaDaal is another recent sock I blocked without going to SPI, don't know if this is helpful for you. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 23:42, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

Looking for a needle in a haystack...

...and I found two sockfarms instead. P, could you check to see if Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/PrakashGollapalli007 and Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Tony28tarun are the same? It looks that way to me based on the promo copyvios from both groups, and similar geolocates on the IPs. However, the former may need yet another rename as an old account was resurrected yesterday (that I blocked now as a suspected sock of the new one, throwing process to wind) to continue the work of the new socks. I'm also pinging @Cyphoidbomb and Fitindia: as they have been involved in the two different SPIs and likely have more context than my blocking finger. —SpacemanSpiff 11:44, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

IP:86.174.165.34

Hello Ponyo, and apologies for contacting you again, but IP 86.174.165.34 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is making duplicate, unsourced and unnecessary alterations on the Richard Farnsworth and David Tomlinson articles, plus other showbiz pages. It appears that MarnetteD is also having the same problems. I have warned the IP on their Talk page to no avail. The situation on the Richard Farnsworth article has now reached 3RR and I'm reluctant to engage in edit warring. Can I suggest a small block to bring them in line? Regards, David, David J Johnson (talk) 19:47, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for this report DJJ. This one has been around for some time but I have forgotten when it started. Some of the changes are cosmetic and others are disruptive. I know that another admin used to take care of them but I have lost that info in my dusty old memory banks as well :-( Any help you can provide Ponyo will be most appreciated. MarnetteD|Talk 19:53, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
@David J Johnson: I don't see anything blockable at this point. You've warned them regarding 3RR and they haven't restored the disputed edits since then (if I missed something please let me know! I just had lunch and am feeling rather sleepy and could very well have overlooked important details). The IP's edits seem really familiar to me and I'm sure they're an LTA traipsing about from IP to IP, but unless I can review their history (previous blocks, warnings etc) then there's nothing I can do.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:12, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
@Ponyo: Thank you for all you have done. This IP does not seem to want to engage and has already reached 3RR. If recent history is anything to go by, I suspect they will revert to their disruption after a few hours. Like yourself, I suspect LTA, but at present have not the time to research. Regards, David, David J Johnson (talk) 20:23, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
Although my time is very limited today, I have managed to research some the LTA of this IP, that MarnetteD had mentioned. It appears that they have used the following IP's in the past: 109.150.103.178 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), 81.141.251.118 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), 77.97.139.1 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log); all these addresses are in the same area of the UK. Additionally, 82.8.231.13 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) and 51.111.185.63 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) appear to be the same person, although in a different location. It remains to be seen whether they will, yet again, revert today? Regards, David J Johnson (talk) 08:20, 26 October 2017 (UTC)

Recent Talk Page Activity

Hello Ponyo, I'm a little confused over what's happening on my talk page. Since October 15th, I've been getting weird notifications, yet when I open them they're not present. I just checked my Talk Page history and you reverted the edits of some users named Urdulinguist and باك الطريق السريع who posted messages. Also a week earlier another random user BooBoorella posted a message which was also reverted. I also noticed all 3 are now banned. Was is just trolling? Convulted SPI

Hi Ponyo, there is a convoluted SPI at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Shivamevolution. I opened it with the intention of adding more info and at the request of Berean Hunter, who has already done a partial CU. There is a discussion at my talk page which I have linked to in the SPI.

I've picked up some sort of cold virus since then and I simply can't handle it, although you will see input from others both there and at my talk. If you have the time, and if you can get your head round the mess I have left, it needs some sort of action. The entire thing is a nightmare, so no worries if you'd rather pass. There is also a report at WP:COIN, again at BH's request. - Sitush (talk) 23:55, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

Sitush That is indeed a painful and convoluted SPI, they type of which I just don't have the time to untangle at the moment as I'm trying to get through my watchlist before packing it in ahead of a busy weekend. It looks like it really needs a patient clerk to review the evidence and go through and block the accounts accordingly. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:11, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

Account Connections

Hi Ponyo,

You asked me a question about User:Iwearfan55, is it someone I need to talk with about an Eyewear wikiproject? RogerMac (talk) 03:00, 31 October 2017 (UTC)

@RogerMac: The reason I ask is that the account was created and used solely to edit the same subset of articles as you, including removing a clean-up tag from an article your wrote. This is not a legitimate use of multiple accounts, so if you are related to account in any way we will need to know.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 16:40, 31 October 2017 (UTC)
Hi Ponyo, Thanks for checking in with me. I did not remove any clean up tags and this is not my account. I am trying to do some organization on the overall category and was thinking to create many articles to make it more complete but it has not been going all that well as you can see! I have removed what I assume is the offending part of the content article I created and have been focusing on organizing the categories for Eyewear related articles. That Pajama Sam/Thomas the Tank Engine/LarryBoy editor...

Re: your edit: Someone using different IPs including 71.171.127.96 + 87.212.11.221 etc. has been doing the same thing intermittently across the entire encyclopedia. I have run into this behavior before, specifically posting lists related to "Pajama Sam"/"Thomas the Tank Engine" onto user talk pages including User talk:Chzz, User talk:87.212.11.221, & my own talk page including this edit & this edit. Both 108. and .71 are Verizon Fios/Leesburg VA IPs. Not sure if anything can be done about it, but wanted someone to know and to have this editing behavior on the record somewhere around here. Shearonink (talk) 05:13, 1 November 2017 (UTC)

@Shearonink: The behaviour is certainly odd, and if it happens again within the next couple of weeks will constitute block evasion as 71.171.127.96 is blocked. Let me know if you see them pop up again and I will look at extended protections etc.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 17:41, 1 November 2017 (UTC)

Malcolmxl5 protected my talkpage but I've been wondering if this behavior is ongoing/persistent/disruptive enough to open a WP:LTA report for "LarryBoy/Thomas the Tank Engine vandal". Shearonink (talk) 15:19, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
@Shearonink: They're the only person using IP 71.171.127.96 so I blocked it for a good spell. I'm not sure about an LTA page as I've never started one; another option is to create a subpage in your userspace that you can dump the data into and reference when requesting semi-protection/blocks etc.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:35, 20 November 2017 (UTC)

Unblock request at User talk:SandKitty256

User:SandKitty256 is asking for an unblock after a gap of 2.5 years - they claim to have been 10 at the time of their checkuser/sock block. Do you have any thoughts on letting them back in? Eight socks identified at Category:Wikipedia sockpuppets of SandKitty256, all blocked in February 2015. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 20:17, 2 November 2017 (UTC)

@Boing! said Zebedee: I saw that request and was going to comment but got distracted. I really don't believe they were ten when they made all those accounts and edits less than two years ago. It's always a red flag when you see new editors commenting on and involving themselves in SPIs completely unrelated to them and this is a rather precocious edit summary. Bottom line, I think they're being untruthful but from a checkuser standpoint I don't see any technical reasons (e.g. continued socking) to deny an unblock.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:43, 2 November 2017 (UTC)

Eulalefty

He was the creator of Islam in South Asia[4], can you delete that article now and just restore the redirect which existed since 2009?

Other articles that he created are, PIA Township[5] (created in 2017 and dated a issue template to 2016), Robyn Curnow and Fasih. They should be deleted as well. Lorstaking (talk) 00:55, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

@Lorstaking: Articles created by sockpuppet accounts are only eligible for deletion if they "have no substantial edits by others". That doesn't seem to be the case in the three articles you linked, though you could take them to AfD if there are additional reasons you believe they should be deleted.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:52, 16 November 2017 (UTC)
I have been following Eulalefty as well and "no substantial edits" by others is case here if we look carefully. Islam in South Asia really has no substantial edits by any other users only Eulalefty has used IPs and accounts to expand this article. Same with all other articles named above.[6][7][8] They have no substantial edits by other users except the IPs and accounts of Eulalefty. Last time there was discussion on WP:AN[9] when one of my G5 was declined because one admin considered routine cleanup/copyediting as substantial edits but after clarification, it ended up with deletion under G5. Pale imitation

Hi P, is there any way to see if impostor account Cyphoidbomb Mini aligns with any existing accounts? The fact that they edited at Ishqbaaaz to remove a cleanup template I left requesting that self-aggrandizing TV network awards be removed, would lead me to suspect that they have a vested interest in puffing up that article, and my hunch is that it could be Siddiqsazzad001, since I've caught him a few times removing cleanup templates without sufficient justification, and he's edited across a large swath of Star network articles. Might also be totally unrelated. Thanks! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:41, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Cyphoidbomb, Ponyo is indisposed for the time being, so I had a quick look. As far as I can tell, the account may be related to this sockfarm. There are a lot of shenanigans happening on the range they're on, however, so I could be mistaken. —DoRD (talk) 17:17, 14 November 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Long-Term abuse/Cause of death vandal (section)

Hello Ponyo, Could I draw your attention to the new activities of the above, 86.174.164.157 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), in editing the Richard Farnsworth page, amongst others. They are now making, as usual, unsourced and in most cases inaccurate changes to articles - which I have reverted. Once again they are in the same part of the UK as their other numerous blocks. Can I leave this with you please? Regards, David, David J Johnson (talk) 11:54, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

And has now started edit warring with same alterations without references/sources. David J Johnson (talk) 19:17, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
And yet again. I have not reverted, due to 3RR. Regards, David J Johnson (talk) 20:02, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
They have been blocked for two weeks by another admin. Best, David J Johnson (talk) 21:06, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
David J Johnson, Ponyo will be unavailable for at least a few more days, and not having time to look into this myself, you might want to find another administrator (or take it to AN3). —DoRD (talk) 17:07, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for your help, in fact another admin has already blocked the latest IP, after I reported it to ANI. Regards, David J Johnson (talk) 17:43, 14 November 2017 (UTC)

Regarding article "Priyank Sharma"

Hello Ponyo, I am just a regular editor on Wikipedia and I've seen the article Priyank Sharma come and go regularly. I see its something regarding recurring controversial Wikipedia:Sock puppetry user. I have absolutely no idea what went wrong with that user. The reason I've contacted you, is that I wanted to re-create the "Priyank Sharma" article with original proper references and data since he is a notable television star in India. Since you are an administrator here, I wanted to confirm that that it wont get me in any trouble. Thank You. JayB91 (talk) 01:53, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

@JayB91: There is absolutely no issue whatsoever with you creating the article (assuming Sharma meets the notability criteria for inclusion). Good luck! --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:04, 16 November 2017 (UTC)

Mike Littlejohn

You've come across this user in the past, but it appears he's up to some bad stuff once again. He carried out a very obvious IP edit that took a warning/block you and I issued to him and placed it on someone else's talk page. That IP only has one non-talk page edit and it's in-line with Littlejohn's history. Damnedfan1234 (talk) 11:00, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

@Damnedfan1234: I've blocked the account for two weeks for continued logged-out disruption.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:15, 16 November 2017 (UTC)
@Ponyo: Mike Littlejohn (talk · contribs) has made some garbage edits to his own talk page since you blocked him. Might be a good idea to remove talk page access as well or extend the block. —KuyaBriBriTalk 19:09, 21 November 2017 (UTC)
Meh, the edits are pretty innocuous, I don't think we're at the point where revoking talk page access is needed. That being said, if this is the level of maturity Littlejohn demonstrates in their edits I predict a longer forced break in their future.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 17:57, 23 November 2017 (UTC)

Odysseus1479, Ponyo is Canadian? I wasn't aware of that! If that's the case, then yes, certainly late. Sorry for not realizing your country of residence, Ponyo. :-) -- WV 02:17, 21 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Ponyo. Is it possible to check this ip[10]? Or his range? The ip is making questionable edits, giving unconsistent and dubious answers and his location and ISP is totally same with a banned long term COI sockmaster. Take a look at this[11] 115.74.205.174 (talk) 07:41, 22 November 2017 (UTC)

About References

Hi Ponyo I just wanted to ask that can sites like this https://web.archive.org/web/20090129070914/http://nickindia.com:80/shows/niyandar.php can be used as reference source. thanks -- Sidaq Pratap (talk) 16:29 27 November 2017

(talk page watcher) @Sidaq pratap:What is the precise data that you would want the source to support? It's a primary source and going by the contents of the source, I could not think of any purpose to utilise it.Winged Blades Godric 16:48, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
@Winged Blades of Godric: Someone added content on a broadcast list that some shows aired on a channel by citing this sources so I just wanted to confirm that can these kind of sources can be used to add content. This is page where it is used List of programs broadcast by Nickelodeon (India)

Sidaq Pratap (talk) 17:01 27 November 2017

@Sidaq pratap: Primary sources can be used to confirm information directly related to the source itself. As it appears in this case that the Nickelodeon India website is being used to verify programs aired by Nickelodeon India, the reference would be ok to use.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:09, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

I smell a sock

Howdy! I see a strong parallel between edits of user:Gr4nder and user:Atypical 9th Grader, the latter of whom you blocked a couple of months ago based on a globally locked account. I'm not quite sure what to do from an SPI standpoint under these circumstances (since I'm not readily figuring out who the sockmaster is), so I'm just bringing it to your attention. Thanks for your patience! - Julietdeltalima (talk) 01:08, 29 November 2017 (UTC)

The sock belongs to this drawer. I've blocked locally and requested a global lock from the Stewards. Thanks for the head's up! --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:12, 29 November 2017 (UTC)

Abusive messages

Hi Ponyo A user CE040295 (talk · contribs) is sending abusive messages on my talk page User talk:Sidaq pratap. Please look into the matter. Thanks. -- Sidaq Pratap (talk) 12:09 29 November 2017

(talk page stalker) Hi Sidaq pratap I've looked into this. The message in itself isn't actually abusive - they were warning you about removing sources. However, the edit summary most definitely is. Under WP:RD3 I have rev del'd this and issued the user with a final warning on their conduct. If this happens again let us know.--5 albert square (talk) 12:59, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
@5 albert square: Thanks for your help even i was talking about edit summary and the discussion on that topic he is reverting is over that's why i removed that message, he has nothing to do with that message aging Thanks. --Sidaq Pratap (talk) 13:14 29 November 2017

Regret to inform you that the BBC IP is at it again with the usual unsourced changes to BBC articles - this time using the following IP 86.8.33.92 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). Ponyo, please accept these holiday wishes :)

I've caused this year to end on a chord of disappointment for many, but I hope that despite my mistakes and the differences in opinion and perspectives, and regardless of what the outcome is or in what capacity I can still contribute in the coming year, we can continue working together directly or indirectly on this encyclopedic project, whose ideals are surely carried by both of our hearts. I'm hoping I have not fallen in your esteem to the level where "no hard feelings" can no longer ring true, because I highly respect you and your dedication to Wikipedia, and I sincerely wish you and your loved ones all the best for 2018.

Happy Holidays
From Stave one of Dickens A Christmas Carol

Old Marley was as dead as a door-nail. Mind! I don’t mean to say that I know, of my own knowledge, what there is particularly dead about a door-nail. I might have been inclined, myself, to regard a coffin-nail as the deadest piece of ironmongery in the trade. But the wisdom of our ancestors is in the simile; and my unhallowed hands shall not disturb it, or the Country’s done for. You will therefore permit me to repeat, emphatically, that Marley was as dead as a door-nail.

So you see even Charles was looking for a reliable source :-) Thank you for your contributions to the 'pedia. ~ MarnetteD|Talk 19:25, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
