Proposed deletion of The Concrete Centre
The article The Concrete Centre has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The director has a CBE, but that does not make the centre notable.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DGG ( talk ) 04:18, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of The Concrete Centre
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Concrete Centre requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Toddst1 (talk) 03:03, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

Pubs in Hertfordshire
Hey, thanks for the "thanks"! Great work on the pubs. I hope it's also ok that I moved the pub in Tewin Wood over to Burnham Green. The pub's website says it's there, as does the Historic England entry, and it's in the Datchworth parish boundary rather than the Tewin one. There are a few more pubs on Wikipedia, so I'll add them if you like. anemoneprojectors 18:40, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for your expansions. By all means add more. I found pics for some of them on Geograph which can be imported if not already on Commons. Some of the villages could do with an article as well. Philafrenzy (talk) 19:04, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

Sally Lodge and Mrs Dunbo?
It looks to me that Mrs Dunbo, the author of A genuine epistle written some time since to the late famous Mother Lodge, is probably Sally Lodge herself. This would make sense because the epistle is written from Lodge's perspective, and also because line 60 states that Dunbo was the name of Lodge's husband. In your research, have you found anything that would support or contradict this theory? Beleg Tâl (talk) 21:04, 31 January 2017 (UTC)

Hi, since another editor added the 'false advertising' section last summer, we've had a few attempts by IPs to remove it, with three in the last week. I checked the Charities Commission ruling carefully, and it makes clear the affair was real and that it was settled quietly, the RSPB withdrawing its claim and the newspaper at least in part vindicated. I wonder what we might do to quieten things down, given that careful sourcing hasn't done the trick? Chiswick Chap (talk) 14:23, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Jeff Dexter promoting The Twist 1962.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Jeff Dexter promoting The Twist 1962.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo). Treated like dirt by many administrators since 2006. Harold Hartley
I notice you moved the article from Harold Hartley to Harold B. Hartley (chemist) in November last year, as you think he's best known as a chemist and with the middle initial. I'm working on various aviation related articles at the moment (slowly plodding my way through the directors of BOAC and BEA) and Harold was a chairman of both BEA and BOAC, but was never widely known as Harold B. Hartley in this role, simply Howard Hartley (or more typically Sir Howard Hartley) as the Flight International archive will testify to. I also believe the addition of the (chemist) designator is slightly confusing given his various roles in industry, not just the aviation sector, but also the CEGB and others.
I'm minded to move the page back to its previous title of Howard Hartley as I believe it's the best compromise for his various roles and the various names under which he was known. I also noticed, whilst doing some research into Hartley's later career, the Royal Society, Royal Society of Chemistry and Institute of Chemical Engineers published their obituaries under the title Howard Hartley. I've not looked extensively into his earlier career though, so I wondered if there's a specific reason for the page move that I've not yet come across, or if there's another Harold Hartley that you're working on an article for. I don't want to go and move the page and cause you any difficulties if you've something planned. Cheers. Nick (talk) 11:43, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks, Nick, I moved it to separate it from Harold Hartley (businessman) and because the first thing that the lead in the other article says (apart from army rank) is that he was a chemist. I have no objection to anything you want to do with it. There is also an Australian politician. We clearly need a disambig page. Philafrenzy (talk) 12:59, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks, I hadn't noticed that page. I'll leave the Harold B Hartley chemist article at its current title for the time being and worry about it when I've added some content relating to his time running the various airlines he was involved with. Nick (talk) 14:00, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

Postage stamps of the United States template
Last October User:Jax 0677 started this template Template:Postage stamps of the United States (plus some others one of which has already been deleted) but, I think mainly due to his lack of philatelic knowledge and how to construct complex templates, it remains a real mess with terrible structure and essentially useless with links just thrown around any old way. I eventually got some time to make something worthwhile and it is currently in a sandbox of mine at User:Ww2censor/sandbox#Template test. I'd appreciate your input on it and am asking some other philatelists their opinions. Suggestions accepted, such as additional links or formatting, on my talk page. Thanks ww2censor (talk) 00:06, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- It has the potential to be unwieldy. What about splitting the Related section into Topics for X on US stamps and People for PMGs or designers? There is also the potential for a separate template for US Postal History. Philafrenzy (talk) 15:23, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
- I looked around and I don't really see it getting too many additional entries. I'm not really sure I get exactly what you are suggesting. At your convenience, can you please be a bit more specific, i.e., as what should go where and what new headings might be needed. Thanks ww2censor (talk) 11:35, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
The Graphic
Do you have access to The Graphic newspaper? If so can you get a decent scan or digital image of the 16 September 1922 issue page 400 that shows the Irish postal strike of the same year, just like one of the images shown here on Amazon. Thanks ww2censor (talk) 23:18, 4 March 2017 (UTC)
- I have checked and it doesn't seem to be in any of my (fairly extensive) sources. Perhaps it has never been digitised. I think you will have to buy the original. Philafrenzy (talk) 23:57, 4 March 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks anyway. I may just try to free transform the images in Photoshop to square them up. ww2censor (talk) 23:59, 4 March 2017 (UTC)
- It won't be difficult as luckily it is a reasonable image. I have just grabbed a copy in case it disappears. Philafrenzy (talk) 02:38, 5 March 2017 (UTC)
- I got out an old Powerbook that has Photoshop on it and did some work on the image. It's now at https://www.flickr.com/photos/23207972@N00/33146551201 for later upload to the commons and cropping when there. Thanks. ww2censor (talk) 00:22, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
- Looks good. Philafrenzy (talk) 01:16, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

- Now here File:Irish Postal Workers Strike "The Graphic" Sept 16 1922.jpg. I'll crop the individual images later. I've also got a few reference for an article. We already have a Postal strike article but those listed are all modern plus there is a general dab page Strike. ww2censor (talk) 11:11, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks anyway. I may just try to free transform the images in Photoshop to square them up. ww2censor (talk) 23:59, 4 March 2017 (UTC)
- I have straightened it further and done a crop. The text at the top was not part of the original page apart from the page number. Philafrenzy (talk) 14:48, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
Actually the date was there along with the page number but in transforming the image the date got pushed off the page canvas so I added it in text, and as a complete image I thought it best to keep it. A different version could be have been uploaded that crops the image area tighter, thus retaining the original upload. I don't expect the full image to be used anyway, but just the individual ones. Anyway, that was just my ideas. Oh, somewhere I saw there is method for coding a full image to only display a selected part in an article. I must try it sometime when I refind it. ww2censor (talk) 11:33, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
- OK, I thought someone else added it. That version is still in the page history if needed. Philafrenzy (talk) 11:47, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
This page you created
Hi, I was thinking of nominating List of artists represented in the National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo for deletion but thought I'd give you the courtesy of checking first. Do you think there's a need for it? There's only one source. There's no guarantee that the information is timely and accurate, as the museum might deaccession something and this list wouldn't be updated. While this is a lot of info for the main National Museum of Western Art I think it belongs there. What do you think? Thanks. Bangabandhu (talk) 00:38, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- I moved it from the museum article because it was taking up a lot of space and of doubtful usefulness. Nominate it if you like and see whether anyone can think of a way to make it useful. Philafrenzy (talk) 08:31, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
DYK for Fulham Refuge
On 17 March 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Fulham Refuge, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Fulham Refuge. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Fulham Refuge), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000.
