Orphaned non-free media (Image:Newbundle.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Newbundle.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:14, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

I think this should be moved to Grey Griffins (series), because most series articles are like this. I will do this soon. STORMTRACKER 94 Go Irish! 22:19, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Let me know when you have completed the entire revision of the Grey Griffins article. I'm afraid I don't have the time to comment on every step of its development. Question

About this, you removed the word "with". from "it allowed him to identify with the people of Ireland." Was this intentional? Swift wants to appeal to Irish people in the pamphlets. Thanks for looking over and checking for errors. There are probably some more that have been missed. :) Hopefully, when that is all settled and done, I will put it back to FA review and it should go through. Ottava Rima (talk) 14:24, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Its quite okay. Thanks for looking over the page. :) Ottava Rima (talk) 01:06, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

RE:

I was honestly just expressing the fact that, because the article remained in that particular state for some time, that it probably should have become a GA a long time ago; I also didn't even notice I left that comment unsigned. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions03:46, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Peer Review protocol

There is no reason to begin a new Peer Review at Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Peer review since the current one for Grey Griffins was began little more than a week ago. If you wish to comment on prior suggestions and update its progress, you should edit its section accordingly. It's much less difficult than beginning a new Peer Review whenever. Also, I do not think all of my concerns were addressed; the references are not properly formatted and some of them (Amazon.com) are not reliable sources. Best of luck, María (habla conmigo) 21:37, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

You should attempt to find the review (or new reviews to replace it) from a reliable source. Amazon.com is typically not considered one, I'm afraid. The Barnes and Noble and Borders links are also not the most verifiable. María (habla conmigo) 21:54, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gamlogo.gif}

Thank you for uploading Image:Gamlogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Image source problem with Image:Hell's Kitchen.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Hell's Kitchen.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:37, 14 May 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Metros (talk) 01:37, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

New Name

I don't mean to sound bad, but your new name is very similar to mine, and I don't want a sockpuppetry case affecting either of us. I do have some suggestions:

  • Black Haze (Just sounds cool)
  • BWS Griffin (Black Wolf Society)
  • Gears of Rock (to match Xbox Live)
  • Devil May Cry (Simple, yet good, game name, probably not taken)
  • Escaped Genetic Experiment (A userbox found on your page)

Also, do you know any friends who may want to join? I am always looking for more adoptees. I saw that you had a picture (it was deleted, so I didn't actually see it) of your friend from school on your page. Would they be interested in Wikipedia? RedThunder 17:36, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Fake new messages sign

Kingrock, the fake new messages sign on both your user and user talk pages makes it difficult for people to interact with you, as it will repeatedly confuse individuals trying to discuss something with you. Of course it is not against any official policy and is up to you, but it will probably only help you to remove them. Gwynand | TalkContribs 03:59, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

About the image is it copyrighted? Because copyrighted material isn't allowed in userboxes. JayJ47 (talk) 01:10, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
I think it would be better if we create an image, because often images such as this don't have free equivalents and its a bit of a hassal trying to ask the copyright holder of the work for permission to use it here. JayJ47 (talk) 01:14, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
I have left a message on Red Thunder's talk page. JayJ47 (talk) 01:21, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: It's Been Rough

Well, I'm sorry to hear you've been having a rough time. I know that when I get stressed out on Wikipedia I take a break for like at least a week. I'll check in every couple of days, but I make sure I don't do any editing of any kind. You need to do that sometimes because editing on here can be draining; the constant grind and pressure from multiple directions can get overwhelming.

If you don't mind some unsolicited advice, maybe disengage yourself some from talk pages for a bit and just watch. When I started editing, I'd only do tiny little edits here and there. Started off working on martial arts pages, then anime/manga, then video game. I didn't participate in discussions, but I made sure that I tried to fill in some of the blanks for some articles. Stuff like review information from IGN GameSpot or GameInformer. Another thing I did was create and expand disambiguation pages; mainly Japanese names like Aizawa, Aikawa, etc. After getting my feet wet, I started participating in discussions on article talk pages and later project talk pages.

The point is sometimes you need to try your hand at different things to find your groove; walk before you run. I'm quite certain you're on here to help, you simply lack the experience and knowledge to do that to the capacity you want to. Don't worry though, everyone started out like that. Most of my first edits on pages are probably long gone because they weren't encyclopedic or didn't follow policies/guidelines. But I watched what was going on and how policies were being used and read up on them, etc. And it's always going to be a constant uphill battle. Even now, I still get my butt handed back to me at places like WP:FAC. That's just Wikipedia. Not always the nicest place to be, but still something worthwhile.

Anyway, forgive the long spiel, and I hope you find what it is you're looking for. (Guyinblack25 talk 16:22, 23 May 2008 (UTC))

GOW Award

It looks great, but I think the fair use image will be removed if you give the award to someone, because fair use images are only allowed to be used in articles. That's very dissapointing coz the award looks great with the pic! JayJ47 (talk) 01:22, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

WP:NFF

Hello, the notability guidelines for future films stipulates that a film article should only exist if shooting has begun. This is not the case with Gears of War, which has only been in development. Per the future films department's process, you can build up development information about a project not yet in production at a broader article like the source material's article. See Jurassic Park IV, Logan's Run (2010 film), Fahrenheit 451 (2009 film), and Shantaram (film) as a few examples. If shooting begins for Gears of War, and there is simply no guarantee of this, then it can have its own article. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 14:45, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: Huggle

Hmm... Maybe you could ask him? It's a pretty small file and has no viruses (many users have downloaded it). RedThunder 13:31, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Idea: Maybe you could use WP:TW. You do not have to download anything, just make a few modifications to your monobook page and you would be set. Also, you do need Mozilla Firefox, so if you do not have that, you should upgrade. RedThunder 13:42, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
Actually, Firefox is an Internet browser which is basically an upgrade from Internet Explorer. Here's what Firefox (heavily modified) looks like on my computer.
