Quick question

[edit]

Hi Guyinblack25,
WP:VG's Newsletter department is looking for editors to interview for our Featured Editor column, and your name has come up in discussions during previous quarters as a likely candidate. From your edit history it is apparent that you are not currently as active an editor as you once were, and it's completely understandable if you don't have the time to be interviewed any more. But if possible, we'd love to hear your story from you.
The interview consists of some 15 questions that you can answer however you like and which you can tinker with up until the newsletter is published. Our hope is to have a small number of interviewees cued up for upcoming Featured Editor columns so your interview would most likely appear in a future issue. You can review previous interview questions here to get a sense of the kinds of questions you would be asked. If you see this note, please let me know at my talk page if you would be willing to answer some questions for the Newsletter. Thanks! -Thibbs (talk) 14:21, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

OK sorry about the delay. The interview has been posted here. It's not due until next quarter which is in early October, so you can definitely take your time. Thank you for agreeing to help out. You've been a real force within the project and I'm glad we'll have this chance to catch up with you! -Thibbs (talk) 16:09, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed you finished up the interview now. It sounds like you've got a good thing going on in your wiki-retirement. Definitely something worth retiring for. :) Thanks again for your help and stay tuned for the Oct. 1 publication of the newsletter. -Thibbs (talk) 12:29, 25 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

List of Pac-Man games

[edit]

Hey Guyinblack! Long time, no talk!

I hope life is good. I know you're retired (and I basically am too) but I figured I'd send you a ping. I'd be willing to come out of retirement one last time to really work on that list of Pac-Man video games we were planning to collaborate on to bring it to FL status. If you leave me a note on my talk page, it goes to my e-mail so I'll come back on to respond. It's no big deal if you can't right away, I'm busy out of my mind with work, but if you get the chance just let me know!

Hope all is well. Nomader (talk) 00:07, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Guy! I've seen you poking your head around now and then and I've been recently too. I hope you've been well! If you ever get the editing itch again, let me know and I'd love to help you scratch it! Nomader (talk) 07:11, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there! Thanks for the "hello", and I hope you're well too. My intentions are apparently crystal clear as the editing itch is still strong. Poking my head around now and then has been my way of scratching it. Maybe when life gets a little less hectic, I'll do some proper editing and researching. If you need help finding sources and aren't on a tight deadline, I can probably help there. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:36, 3 March 2023 (UTC))[reply]

A barnstar for you!

[edit]
The Special Barnstar
My dear sir, though I've read that you have retired, I feel the need to give my thanks to your great work on wikipedia. I would have given you an original barnstar, but I'd like to thank you for your work on Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle in particular, and felt I needed to sent you a special thanks for that. It is often that one sees a good movie or plays a good game and looks those up on wikipedia to see someone else has made a great effort in providing you with an enormous amount of information regarding the topic. Well I grew up with these games and seeing that an editor has made these articles into GAs makes me very happy, even more, it makes me hopefull that there are still people out there that enjoy these games (perhaps a market for more of them in the future). Anyhow, a lot of compliments for you, working on wikipedia may sometimes seem to be something you do more for yourself than for others (sometimes), yet that's not the case here, so once again, on behalf of all Dutch LucasArts adventure game fans (or those I can speak on the behalf of) you have done great work! Thank you. --Music26/11 21:14, 27 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Gib. Long time, no see. How's it been? GamerPro64 14:42, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, GamerPro. It has been a long time lol. I've been busy with life and everything. I've been popping in to check in on some of the articles I previously worked on. How have you been? (Guyinblack25 talk 15:13, 30 May 2019 (UTC))[reply]
Doing real well. I have been noticing a lot of inactive users come back to the workshops so it's always nice to see that happening. GamerPro64 15:58, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to hear that you're doing well and that I'm not the only one who's dabbling back in editing lol. (Guyinblack25 talk 18:43, 30 May 2019 (UTC))[reply]

Sorry for bugging in but I wanted to tell that now that there are far more Kingdom Hearts article (especially about the characters). Guyinblack. By any chance do you remember the user Hippie? He changed his username and is working if certain fictional characters have the potential to have article. Me, I have been working in articles from Devil May Cry, D.Gray-man and Fate/stay night and managed to create some articles too. Hope you relax here.Tintor2 (talk) 16:08, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I just checked out Wikipedia:Featured topics/Kingdom Hearts, and dang you weren't kidding. :-0
And I believe so. New Age Retro Hippie, right? Glad to hear that you both are still going strong. I remember good times working with everyone on the project talk page and collaborating on various articles. (Guyinblack25 talk 18:43, 30 May 2019 (UTC))[reply]
She, actually @Tintor2: - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 18:40, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That said, good to see you back as well, Guyinblack. - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 18:41, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Retro Hippie? 🤔? It's good to hear from you lol. (Assuming it's you based on the articles you worked on.) It's like taking a stroll down memory lane. :-) (Guyinblack25 talk 19:14, 6 June 2019 (UTC))[reply]
indeed, it me. Funny that we came back to Wikipedia around the same time. If you have any interest in picking up a project, I've got some ideas. - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 20:42, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. I've only popped in because I had a some downtime (which could easily vaporize at moment's notice 🙃) and saw some things that needed tidying. Though I'd be lying if I said that the prospect of researching topics isn't appealing. If I end up coming across anything that might be helpful I'll be sure to add it to your drafts. (Guyinblack25 talk 21:28, 6 June 2019 (UTC))[reply]
Oh, I'm not asking for help as much as showing these in case any of the topics are relevant to your interests! If you do pick up on anything I'd certainly appreciate it, but don't go out of your way, aye? - Bryn (talk) (contributions) 21:40, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. Will do. (Guyinblack25 talk 21:53, 6 June 2019 (UTC))[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Kamen Rider mass media requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Long time no see. I think we met when I was a rookie or something and Kingdom Hearts III was far from being announced. Talking about that, I've managed to expand Sora (Kingdom Hearts) to provide commentary of Nomura's humans designs and asked in the talk pages if we can use one of those compilations Smash make them like this to add it to the article (asking since it was removed some months ago). Ref idea

[edit]

Hey! I saw the ref idea you added to Talk:Splatoon 3 and that honestly seems like a really interesting article that might be beneficial to add to Splatoon, possibly in the legacy section. What are your thoughts on this? ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:40, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

TFA?

[edit]

I'm thinking of running Space Invaders at TFA on January 26; does that work for you? This was one of your featured article nominations, years ago. - Dank (push to talk) 02:15, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Sorry for not responding sooner. I rarely come on here anymore since I retired from editing. Regarding having Space Invaders as the TFA, I'm not sure whether its the best idea because I've noticed the quality fluctuate over the years. Right now, it seems it's been cleaned up some, but it still has some issues: excess quoting, single sentence paragraphs, some layout changes might help, etc.)
That being said, however... As I am retired, I'll defer to VG Project members. They've always done a great job protecting TFAs and keeping up with articles. Thanks for reaching out and for considering Space Invaders for TFA. (Guyinblack25 talk 16:38, 24 January 2024 (UTC))[reply]
Thank you today for the article, introduced (in 2008): "This is one of the VG Project's Top priority articles. Since this year is its 30th anniversary, I figured it deserved a proper article."! - Thanks for commenting now! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:19, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Release dates

[edit]

While I know you know what you're doing, that one threw me for a loop on P.N.03: shouldn't that be in both the body and the infobox? I'll defer to you as I'm not really active and am not familiar with current editing standards. It was an awkward orphan sentence that I wasn't sure what to do with.
