2013–14 Liverpool F.C. season revert

Hello Matty, could you please revert and warn the IP that keeps reverting the content that GiantSnowman and I removed on 2013–14 Liverpool F.C. season for being WP:NOTSTATS. I don't want to fall foul of 3RR. Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 12:09, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

It's OK. I think GiantSnowman is looking after this now. Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 14:07, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Uncomfortable

Why? Because of the following, this anon IP from Colombia (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/190.84.80.134), whom i had NEVER interacted with before (the pertinent situation was resolved amicably): i was told in the past by another admin (can't remember exactly who, maybe GS) that with almost 100% of certainty, he and some of the IPs that came to my page to harass me with racist bull after a small run-in in Quique Flores (notably this incident http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Always_Learning&diff=510595637&oldid=509697806) were the same person.

Now, this new IP, who i repeat never interacted with me before, comes and (politely i also repeat) addresses me by my REAL name? Really can't make anything of it, puzzled to say the least. I'll have to deal with extra caution on this matter.

Cheers and kind regards --AL (talk) 15:52, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

  • Could be yes, but like i said i'll have to pay extra attention on how i deal with this (forgot to mention it earlier, the style of writing in Spanish is very similar to the one that conversed with me on Q.Flores, first politely then exploding in a whirlwind of insults). Better not deal at all unless he asks for my direct help on something, then i can't refuse. --AL (talk) 17:21, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Eriksen

Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Christian Eriksen because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, you can use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Mattythewhite (talk) 17:13, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

What are you talking about? A tottenham fan changed the data so that he was no longer at Ajax.

He is still with them (although Marc Overmars has stated that the two parties are talking)

So I fixed it so that he was back at Ajax. At worst, I used total appearances and total goals rather than league app/goals. But still calling that non-constructive is ridiculous. It had been at 0/0. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HappySpur (talkcontribs) 17:28, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Deal has been announced by his current club, don't know how much more confirmed it can get? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ratboy366 (talkcontribs) 18:15, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

You've made a mistake

EDIT: I see, my mistake.

Article reinstatement

Hi there MTW, AL "here",

could you please reinstate Diego Cascón's article? Has made pro (Segunda División) debuts, as seen for example in this match report (here http://www.marca.com/2013/08/18/futbol/2adivision/1376854721.html).

Thank you very much in advance, happiest of weekends --AL (talk) 13:29, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

  • First league appearance of the season indeed sir, as you can see in the match sheet, where it reads 1ª JORNADA, meaning "1st MATCHDAY". --AL (talk) 13:42, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

I don't know the exact "Anglicization" of the sentence, but there is this expression in which you swim for the shore and die just before reaching dry land, that's what "Morir en la orilla" means in Spanish (or "Morrer na praia" in Portuguese), how do you put it exactly in English? I thought "die on the shore" was correct after seeing it in another Real Jaén player... --AL (talk) 13:53, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

  • Done with it! Feel free to correct grammar and remove stuff that is not encyclopedical (i personally thing that WITCH bit deserves a mention, being ref'd and all, but you'll be the judge), thanks for your efforts! --AL (talk) 19:15, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

Liverpool targets protection

Hello Matty, could you please protect Tiago Ilori and Mamadou Sakho.. rumoured to transfer to Liverpool, but nothing official. Thanks, John JMHamo (talk) 17:56, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

Thanks Matty, could you please double check they have semi-protection... I see "changed visibility of the article feedback tool", rather than semi-protection. Thanks again. JMHamo (talk) 20:45, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

Romelu Lukaku

I did use a source. Is a Belgian quality newspaper not sufficient? Tell me if not. Kind regards, Kareldorado (talk) 20:25, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

My mistake, I just see that I mistakably put "2012" in the source I used instead of "2013". Please look back to this source I inserted. I did not simply undo things from mine that were undone. Kareldorado (talk) 20:30, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
No your source isnt accurate, he is still at Chelsea, this might change in the next 1 1/2 hours. 25 mins ago from SkySports "Everton have been backed in to 4/6 to sign Romelu Lukaku amid suggestions of a loan move, with the striker out to 5/4 to stay at Chelsea". Murry1975 (talk) 20:33, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for making me cautious for this (most often regarded as) Belgian quality newspaper and pointing me to more reliable sources. No vandalism intended from my side. Kareldorado (talk) 20:37, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
Looks like he might be head to West Brom now. (Sorry for the talkpage stalking Matty). Murry1975 (talk) 20:40, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
  • I wonder what on earth Chelsea are doing. They're packing away their best striker on loan (Lukaku), they're sending Ba out on loan, and Torres is as hit-and-miss as he's been since he joined the club. Eto'o is brand-new to the Prem, and Schurrle is as well - with the latter being more of a winger than a striker. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 20:52, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

It was announced on BBC television. Souces can be added when in print. Keep Wikipedia up to date!

Jenkinson

Hello, thanks for your message. In the future, please investigate the case thoroughly before drawing a conclusion. I did state in the edit summary that the change I made was simply for table optimization as the current format is not standard. The sources were gathered to the top of the section to make the the statistics more readable and the division part was removed because of its unnecessariness as items in the "Season" column already link to the pages which indicate where he played in each season. I have reverted the change you made. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks!--Miunouta (talk) 15:45, 9 September 2013 (UTC)

Carl Jenkinson

Hello Matty, regarding the recent changes made to Carl Jenkinson. I consider this vandalism and not "optimizing". There is no need to removed properly and correct sourced content and I think something needs to be done. I have a feeling there is an element of WP:OWN here. Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 19:02, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

True, I shouldn't have used the word vandalism, but removing the cite for the Eastbourne Borough FA Trophy match goes against WP:V. I am discussing it on the Users Talk page now. Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 19:42, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
Hello Matty, I have started a discussion on Jenkinson's talk page about this user removing cites and competition info from the stats table. I would appreciate your comments. Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 20:15, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

To elaborate, isn't his hometown extremely relevant information that should be in the opening paragraph? 188.60.178.191 (talk) 23:39, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

OK, thanks for your response. I understand that as a general rule this rule works well. Doesn't the fact that the British media finds the name of the town "Middelfart" hilarious count for anything? More than not, people in England that I meet know one thing about Eriksen, that he's from Middle Earth/Fart. Should a media-created narrative be included in a Wikipedia article? I used to think not, but recently I've been thinking that perhaps minor biographical details (like someone's place of birth) could be essential to putting somebody's life in historical context. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.60.178.191 (talk) 23:58, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

I am trying to correcting that but he is very astute and reverted my correcting changes. I kindly request you secure that page (Russia national football team and the Adidas and Lotto) for unknown users permitting the editing just for autoconfirmed users and avoid this person continue vandalizing those pages. thank you!--190.84.80.134 (talk) 06:44, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

A case of "Talk to the hand" fever?

Hi there MATTY, AL "here",

maybe you'll be more successful than i was talking to these types, this one (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/120.147.149.145) and this one (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:195.249.52.234), the latter you have (and i!) already warned, but the name of the game is now solely the PC update, which both NEVER insert in the box in spite of being (politely) tipped off on the matter.

Especially since the first one writes summaries, and given that after a message i sent him he acted accordingly in one of his subsequent edits (meaning he READ the messages), i have a feeling that he may be mocking me, or similar (i don't want to get all primadonna or anything, but what verb shall i use to describe a user that is told not to do one thing and does it anyway, over and over again). I may be wrong, but i would like for your valuable assistance here, if you please.

Kind regards, keep it up --AL (talk) 15:16, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

Still with this guy from Denmark (not necessarily Danish but editing from Denmark), he is completely wiki-lunatic!! Look what he did in Fernando Francisco Reges, removing the club to which he was loaned just because (please see here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fernando_Francisco_Reges&diff=574663922&oldid=574473901). He did the same in Tiago Rodrigues two months ago, and i also tipped you off on this (see here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Tiago_Rodrigues&diff=next&oldid=565504193). I know this was BEFORE our last messages, but action is needed methinks, whether this is a blatant case of WP:COMPETENCE or he's a downright vandal! Apparently, he also decided that Mr.Reges' stats in C.F. Estrela da Amadora looked better in F.C. Porto, and he "did his maths" (122+26=148)...

Happy week --AL (talk) 23:20, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

On the source for Lanre Oyebanjo's full name it doesn't show all of the Bamidele as it cuts out half way through the page. As expected...

Please check your message here titled "A case of "talk to the hand" fever",

updates on that: the first user seems to have understood, has begun to use PC updates, as seen in Charles Dias de Oliveira. The second one, not a chance (see here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jackson_Mart%C3%ADnez&diff=576018897&oldid=575452092, I have already reverted), i repeat either he's a vandal or blatanly incompetent.

Cheers, happy week --AL (talk) 17:34, 6 October 2013 (UTC)

Please read what I asked this user today. He seems bent in adding POV statements, sourced or otherwise, but still POV. You have issued a last warning two days ago. I feel an outright block is not the way to go here as the editor may just be misguided. I gave him a non-templated last chance and watchlisted to hear him out. I warned him not to edit anymore until discussions are done, else I will immediately block. Please watchlist if not already and let's see how it comes out.Maybe we can straighten him out instead of tossing him out. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 11:33, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Erik Tønne

Hi there. Just noticed your edit to Talk:Erik Tønne, and it made me curious: What part of the mid-importance criteria does Tønne pass? Mentoz86 (talk) 12:06, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I've always thought that the criteria differentiate between top-level, mid-level and low-level leagues. If the importance-scale meant top-tier leagues, the majority of the notable footballers would be mid-importance (except the ones who has played at the second tier or below in England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France e.g.) as most fully-pro leagues are top-tier leagues. What is "top-level" leagues are a bit subjective, maybe an explanatory note could be added to the importance-scale, but in my mind is the first-tier leagues in the countries mentioned above and perhaps a few more. Cheers, Mentoz86 (talk) 13:40, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

How did you know

Hi Matty, I am new to patrolling AIV. I saw you resolved 92.30.165.93 with a sock block... how did you know? I want to make sure I know how to connect diffs like that to a sockmaster in the future. I often see AIV reports on IPs making changes to movies, TV shows, music albums etc., and because the existing article info often isn't sourced anyway, I have a hard time having the guts to make an "unsourced changes" block when what was there before looks just as plausible as what's there afterwards. Any advice helpful, thanks. Zad68 20:37, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

Does not surprise me one bit, he does what he wants (that or does not know how to read a message, doubt the latter VERY MUCH), see an example of what he did yesterday (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jorge_Fucile&diff=577406585&oldid=575509767), have already reverted all. But congrats for the block still, and Struway's tip. In an unrelated matter, please delete Samuel Castillejo immediately, non-notable 300%, if you check one of my summaries and one other user's as well, if was not this guy that played the 5-0 game against Rayo Vallecano, it was Samuel García Sánchez, Castillejo has only played in... Seriously, some WP:COMPETENCE issues could be raised about the fellow who created this, seems his primary source is TRANSFERMARKT.com, and his level of English is also quite subpar. Seems like a really nice guy from his talkpage though.

Many thanks, happy week and keep it up --AL (talk) 17:16, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

ADRIÁ ORTOLÁ, KEPA ARRIZABALAGA that i can remember (both deleted apparently). For now just those two pointers, he relies on Transfermarkt.com way too much, and his English is not "all that jazz" --AL (talk) 17:37, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

Michael Dawson

What's the problem with describing his incredible goal? It's not a quote from anyone it's just a description. There's alot of thing in wiki pages that are not cited. For example, in Michael' page, "Dawson made his début for Tottenham towards the end of the 2004–05 season in the 2–2 draw at Liverpool on 16 April 2005." That is not sourced. What is the difference between that and my description? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.240.5.113 (talk) 02:31, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

No PC update either for...

...this guy (please see here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/188.254.153.17). Have talked to him politely and with directions, as one always should initially, noooooo avail.

Cheers, happy weekend --AL (talk) 19:32, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

We can profit from this header as well, as many of the "users" in the article i mention, Javad Nekounam, can't be caught dead using a summary or writing a PC update. The more serious matters that require your attention/assistance are these two: 1 - PERSONAL LIFE stood like this before i stepped in (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Javad_Nekounam&diff=580189442&oldid=580186635#Personal_life), you trim it down even further or REMOVE it altogether if you like, this is absolute tabloid rubbish if you ask me; 2 - this player's international caps, what a meeeeeeeeeeess! I think i went through approximately 200 edits in his box, no words in summary and "corrections" galore, some went as far as "giving" him 138 caps for Iran, and NFT.com says it's 130 (and unlike with some players as Seydou Keita, in Nekounam's case, all years at NFT.com are filled, so one would tend to say they are correct).

However, you click the RSSSF.com ref i added to article last year or so, what do they say? 132 caps, what the hey? I leave it to your capable judgement, take care and thanks in advance. Note: many of the "work" in the article may be have done by blocked User:Tabarez, as anon. --AL (talk) 02:53, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Reading the available sources thoroughly, it's like you say, he played his 132nd match on 18 June 2013 according to RSSSF, which is also the date of his penultimate appearance per NFT.com, and the latter also adds the 15 October 2013 match. Thus, per easy maths, he should have 133 and 36 goals. I have also doubled the RSSSF ref into the stats table, don't know if that's what you implied as being missing.

Ah, and by the way: i cleanup the article, send you a message, and what happened shortly after? Both and PC and NT in the infobox were altered, without a summary! Why do i bother? --AL (talk) 14:32, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

Matt Green stats

Hello, and thanks for that. Think the extra FA Cup game must have been my typo. But I wonder if you could identify which three league matches were mis-allocated? Because the 2010/11 Sky Sports Annual gives him the same 41 as Soccerbase, and so I think does Rage Online, though I do struggle with its shitty redesign. The only three he missed according to those sources were Barrow (H) 21 Nov, Rushden &D (A) 24 Mar, and Salisbury (H) 5 Apr. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 14:37, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

Assistance again

MTW, AL "here",

please weigh in in the last message i have dropped in User:Alexgreene87 (formerly known as User:Pararubbas, master sock extraordinaire, i think he reached the 100-mark if he didn't surpass it, his ban was lifted subsequently if you note the start of Alex's talkpage)'s page. This guy is now really being annoying with the following, replacing the English version of the ZEROZERO.PT external link with the Portuguese one, even though i have asked him politely not to.

Here's a diff (see here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=V%C3%ADtor_Castanheira&diff=579797406&oldid=569225993, here it's even more serious as he removes the ZEROZERO template as well). This was hard work back in the day, i think it stemmed from WP:ELNO and the "ban" on foreign-speaking links after a discussion was brought up at WP:FOOTY, and User:MadmanBot was kind enough to re-arrange ALL the players that contained said source (example of that also found in Vítor Castanheira, here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=V%C3%ADtor_Castanheira&diff=484437998&oldid=481951693).

Please drop your two cents in Alexgreene's page, maybe a more constructed/to-the-point sentence from an administrator will shed the light on him, i give up. Thanks in advance --AL (talk) 19:58, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

What a pityful "human being", he's not even trying to conceal himself anymore (i assume the next sock will be DIAMOND110), are there no further actions that can be taken other than block the new socks as they are created? Hard, hard work ahead if not.

Just a quick sidenote: i've decided, in Ryan Giggs mode, that this will be my last "season" at WP, i'll retire for good at the end of the 2013-14 campaign with the 2014 FIFA World Cup as a good closer, it will have been a good eight years, a good run overall in which i was ALWAYS glad to help!

Happy week mate, keep it up --AL (talk) 17:18, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

Pityful and beyond

Hi there MTW, AL "here",

another one bites the dust at this here WP, Aitor Karanka could not be bothered with one contribution in the past but, since his confirmed move to your country, which is the same as this WP, vandalism ahoy, are these people retarded or what?

The most puzzling is that it has gone to the point of vandalizing contents or removing refs in order to have the article with the display they wanted, the former being made immediately after a seemingly good contribution (point #1 and #2 shown here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Aitor_Karanka&diff=581525439&oldid=581517260 and here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Aitor_Karanka&diff=next&oldid=581525439, #3 here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Aitor_Karanka&diff=next&oldid=581529339).

Until tomorrow --AL (talk) 23:37, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

Danny Coles

Hi Mattythewhite - complete amateur Wikipedia editor but was attempting to change Danny Coles' birthday because he asked me to! I know him well enough. His birthday is oft-cited on the internet as 31st October - but that's wrong and one assumes people often get their wrong assumption from Wikipedia. A citation would be here: http://www.football.com/en-gb/danny-coles/

Hope that's okay and I'd appreciate it if you could amend back to 30th October and add citation (to help me out a bit, as a rookie!) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.43.250.11 (talk) 21:35, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Danish "user" and his "updates"

Yes, he really cares about the warnings (see here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Josu%C3%A9_Pesqueira&diff=581901995&oldid=581650792), until when will he be allowed to continue with this stuff?

My gut feeling is that he waits one or two weeks to see if the coast is clear, then resumes his activities, can't prove it of course. Happy week --AL (talk) 02:22, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Response to Infobox stats.

Hello, Yes I know it's for league games only. I got my figures from his soccerway page so if it's wrong then I apologize but I was just going from the information I seen. Thanks --Skyblueshaun (talk) 18:01, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Sock

Thanks for the block on the other guy mate :)

Now, for matters as pressing: this guy, already warned by you (please see here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Kingsofc8l) IS (99,99999999999999% certainty) sock User:Ensarux/User:Steadyfingers/User:Aciyokrocky etc. The "giveaway"? He edits massively on Fenerbahçe (individual players and seasonal articles), André Villas-Boas and Mehmet Topal (the latter one edit only that I saw), as did the other accounts.

I know what i would do if i was given the possibility, but of course you're the admin, not me. Keep it up. --AL (talk) 19:23, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

  • I guess we can profit from this header for the next, not a sock but a disruptive editor the same. This guy has been warned several times, blocked already, and he continues. Watch as how in Bruma (footballer born 1994), he removes the ref'd sentence about his team losing 1-6 against Real Madrid (please see here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bruma_(footballer_born_1994)&diff=579538090&oldid=579529235). Obviously, per his list of contributions, he's a die-hard fan of Galatasaray, and he's having none of that ("that" being other users writing about his beloved team losing games, be it sourced info - and important one, his UEFA Champions League debut! - or not. Just another (you can't say "idiot", so please choose a proper adjective yourself) if you ask me.

Oh, and this person also does not grasp the PC update concept (see here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bruma_(footballer_born_1994)&diff=581104915&oldid=581095033, Bruma does not even have 10 appearances altogether this season!).

P.S. I know that anon IPs can be blocked for a long (loooooooooong) period of time, not indef but a very long time nonetheless (check this "sentence" i achieved for a Brazilian vandal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/177.0.204.119). Cheers --AL (talk) 22:38, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

IP sock block evading

Hello Matty, could you please block 86.44.242.128 for evading his month long block. 86.46.136.167 Thanks, JMHamo (talk) 23:54, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

Also for calling me a c*nt JMHamo (talk) 23:56, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

If you want to have hundreds of footballers pages locked for no reason and have one user JMHamo ruin Wikipedia for everyone else because of his bizarre infatuation with me, then go ahead block me, even though I will just keep coming back until every single page is locked.

Have had enough of being banned because of another user edit warring and removing edits when there is nothing wring with them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.44.242.128 (talk) 00:03, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

Now using 86.46.155.229 to evade. JMHamo (talk) 00:12, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

And the charade continues. If JMHamo would just let me do my edits, it would save everyone concerned a lot of time and trouble. And could someone tell me what is wrong with my edits? Correct appearances. Correct goals. Correct date of match played. Yet this strange little man keeps reverting them and I get told I am the one "edit warring".

Using foul and abusive language is enough to get you blocked indefinitely. JMHamo (talk) 00:17, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

If you get a ban for edit warring with me over the last several months, I promise I will stop editing for a month. Otherwise..... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.46.146.176 (talk) 00:20, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

Funny thing IP, you are blocked so reverting your edits dont actually count as edit warring on anyone elses part. The irony, hey? Murry1975 (talk) 00:26, 25 November 2013 (UTC)

GAN December 2013 Backlog Drive

Hello! A GAN Backlog Drive will begin in less than 4 days!

In past Backlog Drives, the goal was to reduce the backlog of Good article nominations. In the upcoming drive, another goal will be added - raising as much money as we can for the Wikimedia Foundation. How will this work? Well, its pretty simple. Any user interested in donating can submit a pledge at the Backlog Drive page (linked above). The pledge should mention the amount of money the user is willing to donate per review. For example, if a user pledges 5 cents per review and 100 nominations are reviewed, the total donation amount is $5.00.

At the time this message was sent out, two users have submitted pledges for a total of 8 cents per review. All pledges, no matter how much money, are greatly appreciated. Also, in no way is this saying you must make a pledge.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or leave a message on the Backlog Drive talk page. And remember, there are less than 4 days before the drive starts!--EdwardsBot (talk) 03:21, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Eden Hazard

Hi Matty. Thank you for your many contributions to football articles and your work in removing vandalism. Regrettably there has recently been quite a substantial amount of vandalism to the article on Eden Hazard by anonymous IP users. A look at the "Revision History" of the article will confirm this.

The article on Hazard is listed as a "Good article" and it's a shame that it's currently being spoilt in this way by vandalism. Please could you consider putting a protection template on this article to allow only registered users to edit. This will hopefully control the vandalism. Thank you. Kind Tennis Fan (talk) 07:35, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

The page has now been protected. I know that you do a lot of work to help improve football articles and if there are further instances of persistent vandalism that I see, I will go direct to the "Requests for page protection" section and I will request admin directly there. Thanks. Kind Tennis Fan (talk) 21:55, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Imbecile alert

Hi there MATTY, AL "here",

is there anyway to automatically undo all of a sock's "contributions"? I'm asking this because i noticed you undid some of idiot User:Antony1821's stuff (see here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Ddiamond85), but not all. I also undid some myself just now.

Happiest of times is what i wish you have, cheers --AL (talk) 01:32, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

I know a three-year block on that IP is completely feasible since i've seen it done by an admin (did not even require an investigation, just me, the admin and the diffs provided), i have already shown you the page of the blocked IP, i'll show it again (here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/177.0.204.119). Bottom-line question is: if you can't block the IP for three years, can you at least BLOCK it, like you did to the other nuisance, the F.C. Porto fan from Denmark?

Cheers --AL (talk) 16:21, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

Cherno Samba

Hi, I'm sorry about the late reply. I believe I went to the team page for the relevant youth side and used the Search Team bar. It depends on what youth level they played at. I tried to search for Samba on the under-21 page but he didn't show up. Who are you looking for? Samba is one of the worst players we've had in my time. Teams Managed

Hi Matty, You know on footballer managers pages, they have a Teams Managed section underneath their stats. Some have clubs named with (assistant manager) next to them. Is this box just for managerial jobs or can you include assistant manager jobs? Being wondering for a while but won't delete until i have confirmation either way. Cheers, Telfordbuck (talk) 18:43, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Interesting

Hi there MATTY, how's it going?

a bit puzzling this discovery i made: this guy which updated stats regularly (the stats, not the PC!) on Daniel Díaz, User:Juanmlavagna, was asked several times by me to please add the PC update. He continues to say "talk to the hand" and, to add insult to injury (and the original account was not even blocked, or had that many warnings), seems to have another account now (please see here https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Daniel_D%C3%ADaz&diff=584136381&oldid=584130855). The new account, OF COURSE, engages in the same M.O.

Any suggestion? Happy week --AL (talk) 16:52, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

Mesut Ozil

Hi, all of his stats (goals and apps) are referenced from Transfermarkt. I assumed that adding in assist stats from the same site would be fine, but they can be sourced elsewhere. Regards the template, I understand that it is not commonplace to include assists, however for players such as Ozil assists are a more relevant reference than goals almost. They are included on Fabregas' page. Is it possible to include the assists if they are sourced from a more reputable site? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.216.247.20 (talk) 22:14, 2 December 2013 (UTC)
