On 18 January 2014, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Por Amarte Así, which you created or substantially expanded. WikiProject Latin Music still running?
Hi Erick, thanks for tagging the articles I edited about a couple of Colombian groups. I wanted to ask if this WikiProject you set up is still going, as there hasn't been any activity on the talk page for a year now? I was thinking of classifying the articles as C-class for the project (I think I am allowed to do this myself, but you can do it if you like), but there doesn't seem much point if the project is dormant. I'm a British guy with Colombian parentage and current living in Colombia, so my interests are obviously in articles regarding Colombia, and I was looking at tidying up the Music of Colombia article, particularly the Contemporary music section at the bottom which is a bit of a structural mess, out of date, and doesn't include any artists who have emerged in the last decade like Monsieur Periné, Esteman or Lido Pimienta, who don't fit into any of the salsa, rock, pop or urban categories... I would have to think about how to define them.
As a native English speaker and with time on my hands at the moment, if there are any articles you would like me to look at and improve the English and the grammar, let me know. Richard3120 (talk) 17:07, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks, I will contact Luisnh and offer my help to him and others working on articles - I'm not really a fan of Colombian pop music like Shakira and Carlos Vives and wouldn't know where to find reliable sources for articles on them, but I will certainly offer to help making sure the article reads well in English and the spelling and grammar is correct. WikiCup 2014 January newsletter
The 2014 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with, at time of writing, 138 participants. The is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2010. If you are yet to join the competition, don't worry- the judges have agreed to keep the signups open for a few more days. By a wide margin, our current leader is newcomer Godot13 (submissions), whose set of 14 featured pictures, the first FPs of the competition, was worth 490 points. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:
- 12george1 (submissions) and TropicalAnalystwx13 (submissions) were the first people to score, for the good article Tropical Storm Bret (1981) and its good article review respectively. 12george1 was also the first person to score in 2012 and 2013.
- Sven Manguard (submissions) scored the first ITN points for 2014 North American polar vortex.
- WonderBoy1998 (submissions) scored points for an early good topic, finishing off Wikipedia:Featured topics/She Wolf.
- TheAustinMan (submissions) scored the first bonus points of the competition, for his work on Typhoon Vera.
- Igordebraga (submissions) has scored the highest number of bonus points for a single article, for the high-importance Jurassic Park (film).
Featured articles, featured lists, featured topics and featured portals are yet to play a part in the competition. The judges have removed a number of submissions which were deemed ineligible. Typically, we aim to see work on a project, followed by a nomination, followed by promotion, this year. We apologise for any disappointment caused by our strict enforcement this year; we're aiming to keep the competition as fair as possible.
Wikipedians interested in friendly competition may be interested to take part in The Core Contest; unlike the WikiCup, The Core Contest is not about audited content, but, like the WikiCup, it is about article improvement; specifically, The Core Contest is about contribution to some of Wikipedia's most important article. Of course, any work done for The Core Contest, if it leads to a DYK, GA or FA, can earn WikiCup points.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Hi
I came across some of your edits on Latin music. Was wondering what you might think of En mi Viejo San Juan? It is still stub level, but hopefully we can make such a fine song into something more. Do you have a standard content format that you like to follow? Take care, Mercy11 (talk) 01:11, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- Maybe. Right now, as far as Puerto Rican articles go, I'm still working on Marc Anthony's albums and songs and will be helping Caribbean H.Q. for Frankie Ruiz. For an article like that, I'll probably rely on Google Books since it does a better job of finding information about old songs than searching on the web. I took a quick glance on Billboard.biz to see if anyone who covered it ranked on the music charts and found that only Marco Antonio Solis did. At the very least, I can upload a sample of the song if you'd like. Erick (talk) 01:27, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks! and I'll just keep it here: its easier for me to follow. Thx for the sample offer. And especially thanks for the music tips (Google books, the Billboard tip, etc). I have done mostly museums and bios, so I am new to music - until EmVSJ, that is. Take care, Mercy11 (talk) 01:32, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- No problem. If you need any additional help let me know. As for Solis's cover, he recorded it live on the Teatro Bellas Artes in 1999 and the live album came out in 2000. Erick (talk) 01:40, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

- Do you use links to YouTube in your songs? Is it allowed? The song is everywhere on YouTube. Thanks Mercy11 (talk) 02:01, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- Only videos that have been uploaded by VEVO, the artist, or its record label can be used. Everything else falls under copyright violation. I recommend using Allmusic as it is a music database and is a reliable source. Erick (talk) 02:29, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- Do you use links to YouTube in your songs? Is it allowed? The song is everywhere on YouTube. Thanks Mercy11 (talk) 02:01, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
- Awesome! Thanks for sharing your knowledge in this area! Mercy11 (talk) 01:58, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
- Wandering how you have been citing Billboard links such as this one: http://www.billboard.com/biz/search/charts?f[0]=ts_chart_search_title%3A%2Aen%20mi%20viejo%20san%20juan%2A&f[1]=ss_bb_type%3Achart_item&type=3&title=en%20mi%20viejo%20san%20juan
- My problem is that the link has a [0] and the WP parser seems to be taking that to be the end of the link, which is not in this case. In this case the "[0]" seems to be a parameter (possibly "screenful number 0"?) that the url is passing to the url function. I never had this problem before. Thanks. (If you never had this problem before yourself, it's OK; I can ask at the help desk.) Mercy11 (talk) 05:57, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
I'll handle it since only Marco Antonio Solis's cover ranked on the Billboard charts. Usually it's best to link the charts from the artists page on Billboard.com or from the awards on the artists page on Allmusic.com. EDIT: Okay, I've not only added Solis's cover, but also added the year the song was originally recorded. The best article that I think you should model after for "En mi Viejo San Juan" is Inolvidable (song). I also found some issues of Billboard regarding the song. Go to Google Books and type "intitle:billboard en mi viejo san juan". Hope they help! Erick (talk) 06:55, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. We had an edit conflict and I backed out and then tried my best at integrating my edits back in. Hope didn't lose any of your stuff. However, as for the billboard thing, the way I read it, it peaked at #8 during feb 2001. WOuld you check it out using the song as a search param, not the singer. I might still be wrong - don't know if I am reading the billboard screen I get correctly, so I left both: your edits and mine. Thanks. Mercy11 (talk) 08:41, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- The #8 position is referring to the Regional Mexican Airplay, which is a subchart of the Hot Latin Songs. Erick (talk) 08:45, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- Got it! I usually work on culture and history, some bios and a little architecture, so music is certailly not my forte - though I know this song is popular. BTW, I tried Allmusic and the artist's page from the billboard, with no luck. The intitle billboard link, though, more than made up for that!

- A couple of questions: (1) What do you think of including a translation of this Spanish song into English (lyrics)? Has that run into copyvio problems for anyone? I am talking about a literal translation, not the official version in English sung by some (and which lyrics I have not yet seen). (2) Also, how about a partial reproduction of a music sheet containing just a portion of the song? I saw one for "En mi Viejo San Juan" HERE and I am thinking perhaphs including just the first page under FUR would be OK. I saw a song article that included a sample partial music sheet; I would believe there are more. Has that worked for you? Thanks. Mercy11 (talk) 15:30, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- Only if the song is in public domain can you post the full lyrics. You can translate parts of the lyrics if it's backed up by a reliable source. I don't know about music sheets, so I'd say that depends on reliable sources too. Erick (talk) 19:34, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

So I did some cleaning up by merging extremely short section with other relevant section in the article and I added a sample of the original recording by Trio Vegabajeño. I also digged some interesting information that I put in the article. In 2012, American pianist Arthur Hanlon performed it live with Marc Anthony. But what really makes it interesting is that the concert is the first time a concert was recorded on the San Cristobol fort. For future discussions, do you mind if we use the article talk page instead of mine so that we can other members of the WikiProject Puerto Rico involved as well? Erick (talk) 10:12, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
- I'm still waiting for the book to deliver, so please don't let me hold you back from working on other articles. When it arrives, I will let you know. - Caribbean~H.Q. 00:01, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
- Magiciandude, I am --I admit-- 1/2 confused and the other 1/2 puzzled. About the music sheet question: If you check THIS article, it includes a music sheet with the song in question - The Star-Spangled Banner. Now, for copyright purposes, it should not matter that the song is a national anthem or a pop song or a whatever song, right? The issue I see is that the music sheet file used in that article is marked PD in Wikipedia (HERE) and relased into the public domain by its uploader, a WP user "Aetzkorn", and labeled as his "Own work". First, I would doubt that a WP user composed that music sheet himself, but let's AGF and say he did. The next hurdle is that the music sheet is credited to a Francis Scott Key and a John Stafford Smith. Now, we could assume these two composed the lyrics, not the melody, so OK, by making another assumption, we cleared that 2nd hurdle. But then why is it PD? Because it is a national anthem? It should not make any difference, right? The copyright status is more dubious yet since The Music Sheet Used is marked "Copyrighted 1917" on it (It may be clearer HERE. So here we have a music sheet that despite several signs to the contrary, only by making assumptions can it stand as (never mind the limited FUR/NFCC) but as Public Domain.
- My goal is not to take shots at the Star-Spangled Banner music sheet. My goal is to add a music sheet to "En mi Viejo San Juan", without having some fly-by-night copyright paranoia editor taking shots at it when such time might be better invested elsewhere where (1) a music sheet precendent might have been set (like at the Star Spangled Banner) and (2) where the music sheet has been exposed to far many more potential critics than one at En mi Viejo San Juan (like, again, at the Star Spangled Banner). What do you think? Mercy11 (talk) 15:13, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
- To be quite honest, I do not about how musical sheets are handled on song articles. The only thing WP:SONGS says about them is about the external links. I think you should ask them about it on their talk page. Erick (talk) 20:23, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Los Mismos Picture
if my picture is gonna stay on for the article can I undo or will you undo the red flag please I don't like the red dispute box. it ruins the picture. Thank you. was that a NO? and the talk page is from where I started I may not know all of the policies but I learned how to make the articles and boxes for the albums. Not really dude I have the album and took the picture myself and I have stated that it belongs in the article. because its part of the discussion if you feel there's away to keep the the picture how come you don't help me out?? and keep it there. you are not gonna find it in free media though I chosed not to state that in the description because the pictre where they are in white suits can be found in google. All I am asking is if you feel that I didn't post it the right way then help me by putting it in the right way instead of deleting. many people take photos from their phones and put it as own work. also I posted the picture as a recording image because it's inside the album juntos para siempre I own all of their studio alumbs. also some dude back then might have mentioned to me that pictures taken by phone can be used, but its been so long and I don't remember. All I am asking is help me keep the picture. Then you can do me a favor find a public domain and put a pictre of Los Mismos with the original memebers I also posted the juntos para siempre picture but I couldn't use that one either at least I don't think I can they only made 2 CD with the original Buki members and they were Juntos Para Siempre and Te Llevas Mi Vida. A public domain would be a site like amazon and google correct?? if they are then I can start looking for a picture. If not then Please do me that favor and post the picture. Well when ever you get the chance you can do it. it probably wont take you that long. Marco Antonio Solis and Los Bukis have pictures. and so should Los Mismos. be a pal and find a picture for them, I hope its a picture with all the original members it wont take you that long and besides both of us will be happy. I get the picture in place and you will be happy because you wont need to flag it. No I am ok I rarely come to the site I just come to read. the only contribution I make is if Marco Antonio Solis comes out with a new album. I didn't do the previous ones but I added the songs that were used on TV. I only read as for Los Mismos I am just trying to get a picture. They are still around but they do not have major label distribution sure wish they did though. Thanks anyway. And you can help me out by putting a picture of Los Mismos one that will not be flagged. With the original members of Los Bukis. I'll hold you to it.
Hey dude I also had a question why are the birthdays on some biographies and deaths are the numbers and months switched?? shouldn't it be February 20, instead of 20 February?? in the Spanish language the day is reversed. just curious as to why is it reversed in English.
yeah dude my bad hows the picture coming along??
No I do not Los Mismos are an old band with the orginal members are gone though I have seen youtube clips but I know they don't have major label distribution. If you start looking please pick a picture of the original line up which were Joel Solis, Roberto Guadarrama, Esuebio "El Chivo" Cortez, Jose "Pepe" Guadarrama, and Pedro Sanchez. Thank You.

The book finally arrived. However, it mostly covers the last two years of his life, which means that we will certainly need more sources. I will work with the book and should have something ready by the next weekend. - Caribbean~H.Q. 21:42, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Caribbean H.Q.: Well I can post useful information on the talk page in the meantime. Erick (talk) 21:53, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- His son is also a singer. I figure that with that, the book and a few more references a good "Legacy" section could be built. His drug issues could then be moved to "Early years", giving us plenty of "personal" information (which is usually the hardest to come by). Oddly, the "Musical career" section is the one that will need more internet references. - Caribbean~H.Q. 22:21, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- As was Frankie's brother Viti Ruiz who had a with the song "Caricias Prohibidas". I'll probably created a short article about Viti after Frankie's is worked on. Allmusic has some information about his early too. Erick (talk) 22:27, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- Yes; Viti was also a vocalist for Frankie's band. - Caribbean~H.Q. 22:40, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- Now that, I didn't know. Also, I've added three links to an article on the talk page. Erick (talk) 22:43, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

WikiCup 2014 February newsletter
And so ends the most competitive first round we have ever seen, with 38 points required to qualify for round 2. Last year, 19 points secured a place; before that, 11 (2012) or 8 (2011) were enough. This is both a blessing and a curse. While it shows the vigourous good health of the competition, it also means that we have already lost many worthy competitors. Our top three scorers were:
- Godot13 (submissions), a WikiCup newcomer whose high-quality scans of rare banknotes represent an unusual, interesting and valuable contribution to Wikipedia. Most of Godot's points this round have come from a large set of pictures used in Treasury Note (1890–91).
- Adam Cuerden (submissions), a WikiCup veteran and a finalist last year, Adam is also a featured picture specialist, focusing on the restoration of historical images. This month's promotions have included a carefully restored set of artist William Russell Flint's work.
- WikiRedactor (submissions), another WikiCup newcomer. WikiRedactor has claimed points for good article reviews and good articles relating to pop music, many of which were awarded bonus points. Articles include Sky Ferreira, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus and "Wrecking Ball" (Miley Cyrus song).
Other competitors of note include:
- Hahc21 (submissions), who helped take Thirty Flights of Loving through good article candidates and featured article candidates, claiming the first first featured article of the competition.
- Prism (submissions), who claimed the first featured list of the competition with Natalia Kills discography.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions), who takes the title of the contributor awarded the highest bonus point multiplier (resulting in the highest scoring article) of the competition so far. Her high-importance salamander, now a good article, scored 108 points.
After such a competitive first round, expect the second round to also be fiercely fought. Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 1 but before the start of round 2 can be claimed in round 2, but please do not update your submission page until March (UTC). Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points equally.
Cámara Uruguaya del Disco
Hi Erick. I'm working on the Uruguayan citations. I think it is best if we create Cámara Uruguaya del Disco with a section about thresholds. I see we have es:Cámara Uruguaya de Productores de Fonogramas which can be used as a base, but it is missing the history. According to this until 2002 the threshold was 3000 for Gold and 6000 for Platinum. This shows it was still the same in 2004. According to this from 2005 it was 2000/4000, which it is still today. This is for albums, I can't say if singles are certified. If they are, they use the same numbers. For videos, the thresholds are, and always were 1000/2000. As far as I can tell, the first year with video certifications was 2007 and we have this to show the thresholds were already 1000/2000, as they are today. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 11:50, 25 March 2014 (UTC)
- Right. I'll do it sometime this week when I have the chance (college keeps me busy). For now, I think it's create a redirect. EDIT: Or it appears a redirect was already made. Erick (talk) 00:53, 26 March 2014 (UTC)
J.Lo Spanish albums
Hey Erick... I was wondering if you could possibly find the peak positions for J.Lo's first three albums in Spain? The spanishcharts website doesn't appear to have anything before 2002, at least in this case (as was in Ricky's). — Status (talk · contribs) 04:58, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
- @Status: Sure thing, I'll look into Billboard Hits of the World on Google Books. ;) Erick (talk) 09:55, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
Hmm, it doesn't appear On the 6 ranked on the Spanish albums chart. J. Lo debuted at #1, couldn't chart positions for the remix album or This Is Me Then. Erick (talk) 10:22, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
Your Four Award nomination
Hi Magiciandude, I regret to inform you that Formula, Vol. 1 does not satisfy the Four Award requirements. Although it meets the DYK, GA, and FA criteria, it is ineligible because you did not create the first encyclopedic content. Regardless, it is an excellent article and I want to congratulate you for pushing it to featured status. Keep up the good work! Cheers, LittleMountain5 05:17, 1 April 2014 (UTC)
FA congratulations
Just a quick note to congratulate you on the promotion of Formula, Vol. 1 to FA status recently. If you would like to see this (or any other FA) appear as "Today's featured article" soon, please nominate it at the requests page; if you'd like to see an FA on a particular date in the next year or so, please add it to the "pending" list. In the absence of a request, the article may end up being picked at any time (although with 1,311 articles in Category:Featured articles that have not appeared on the main page at present, there's no telling how long – or short! – the wait might be). If you'd got any TFA-related questions or problems, please let me know. BencherliteTalk 08:00, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

First, congratulations on your FA for Formula, Vol. 1. How are your other projects going? It’s been quite some time. And that sounds great, I’ll be back for so time now, so it’s a perfect time to renominate. Let me know when you nominate at FA, so I can comment. But, for right now I don’t have any specific project. Sentimiento (album) and 12 Discipulos are at the top though. – DivaKnockouts 12:28, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
Hi,
I assessed the article a B, its very good, now, the only thing i would resay it lacks is references in the lead section, evem if the info is mentioned and referrenced elsewhere, the lead section should have the most fundamental information with its refferences. - {{ping|Zidane tribal]] Hello Zidane tribal and thanks for the rating and comment. As for the references in the lead, you would only need them if there are quotations (see WP:LEADCITE). Cheers! Erick (talk) 16:26, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
Re: Title of foreign-language works
Hello, titles in Spanish must be lowercase, as indicated by the RAE. And above all, they must be in lower case because that's writing in Spanish.--GeorgeMilan TALK2ME 00:00, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- See other wikis respected titles in English, and I think also the English Wikipedia must respect foreign securities. In Spanish words are not all in capitals, as are bad. And this is something that has been done long ago. As the titles in Spanish must be in lowercase.--GeorgeMilan TALK2ME 00:14, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- I looked placed securities with capital is a lack of respect for people who speak Spanish. Especially considering that you're disrespecting the rules of the RAE, and capitalization. Do not reach a consensus for something that is obvious and that violates the policy.--GeorgeMilan TALK2ME 00:57, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Would you like to work on the article? Simon (talk) 04:41, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
- @HĐ: I honestly don't even think the song is that notable to warrant its own article. I took one quick look at Billboard.biz to see if it ranked any chart and came up nothing. Aside from the background, composition, and reception, there probably isn't anything else to contribute to. That said, I can extend help towards Somos Novios (It's Impossible) and Contigo en la Distancia (if it ever gets created), because those two songs are covered by a another famous singer whose albums I'm working on right now. We need to figure out a way to list it better at the top as the Latin music (genre) is all-encompassing of Spanish & Portuguese music (rather than a genre of either one). I'll make some edits, but let me know what you think. Regards.--MarshalN20 Talk 00:50, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- @MarshalN20: Agreed, at first I put in Spanish music and Lusophone music templates as it covers both, but I like your idea better. And by all means, go ahead and make changes you deem necessary, I don't mind at all. Erick (talk) 00:55, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks friend! Apparently there is a "bottom" section to the table, and that's where I added the Latin music link. I think it's good as readers would (after looking at the Spanish music) would probably be interested in seeing more kinds of Latin music. It's kind of like the "see also" section in regular articles.--MarshalN20 Talk 01:00, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- @MarshalN20: Yeah, I think that works better. I'm very tempted to say it should be done on the this template too, but apparently, Latin music only applies to Brazil and Portugal and not the other Lusophone countries. What do you suggest? Erick (talk) 01:19, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- I'm not sure how to deal with this. I would assume that "Latin music" would have to do more with genre rather than location. "Latin American music" is the one that would seem to be more specific to region. Regards.--MarshalN20 Talk 02:47, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- I guess I could just leave it as it is for now. Erick (talk) 02:50, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- I really appreciate the improvements made to the Music in Spanish template. We should work on an article together at some point. Cheers!--MarshalN20 Talk 02:49, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

@MarshalN20: I wouldn't mind that at all! :) Right now, I've been working on Romance (Luis Miguel album) and Segundo Romance since they're very popular albums in Latin America. Would you be interested in joining WikiProject Latin music? Erick (talk) 03:09, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
- Sure! Thanks for the invite. Luis Miguel is a great singer, so it's good that work is being done in his albums.--MarshalN20 Talk 03:17, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
- @MarshalN20: Yes and all the boleros he covers are outstanding. So just out of curiosity, when you say "old Spanish music genres", are you referring to any decade for the music? Erick (talk) 03:25, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
- Almost anything prior to the 1980s. I studied at a music academy in my younger days, and the focus was mainly on colonial and early Latin American republic music. I didn't appreciate it back then, but now I still have the old books and notes to guide my research.--MarshalN20 Talk 03:34, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
- @MarshalN20: Ah okay. Most of the work I focus on are either very popular Spanish albums that sold a lot copies or brought a particular genre into the spotlight like Bachata Rosa, Mi Tierra, and of course, Romance. I'm hoping to get Clasicos de la Provincia GA since it brought attention to Colombian vallenato music. It's good to have someone who's main expertise in Latin music from that era since hardly, if any, editors work on those articles. I do sample requests too so if you need any music samples for an article, let me know and I'll upload one for you. Cheers! Erick (talk) 03:43, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Latin music TAFI nomination
Hey Erick, I have nominated Latin music (genre) at WP:TAFI as it is one of our top priority for WP:Latin music. I never knew this group existed so it would be fun to see what good can come out of it, not saying I have any doubts. Best, jonatalk to me 13:21, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- @AJona1992: LOL oh man, I was going to use that feature for Somos Novios (It's Impossible) to help with WP:XTINA. Erick (talk) 13:24, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- You still can, I see no limitations on the project. Best, jonatalk to me 13:26, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

- Do you want me to withdraw? Best, jonatalk to me 22:26, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- @AJona1992: No, no, no. It's fine. BTW, you are now 90 years old according to the above typo I made. Erick (talk) 22:29, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- Lolz I see btw, why are Music of Chile (for example) top priority but others like Music of Puerto Rico not? Do we have an assessment guide for WP:Latin music? Best, jonatalk to me 22:32, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- No we don't and I think we should. I had been thinking about it for a while. For example, legendary artists like Celia Cruz, Vicente Fernandez, and (of course) Selena are high/top importance because of their impact on the Latin music as well as Enrique Iglesias and Shakira are also high importance because they are known around the world and are the best-selling Latin artists, while Julio Iglesias is definitely top importance because he hold the Guinness World Record for being the best-selling male Latin artist of all time. Same thing needs to apply for albums and songs. Erick (talk) 22:45, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- Well whenever you're free we should create one for the scope of the project. Btw, have you thought of creating a List of best-selling Latin singles/songs? Best, jonatalk to me 22:50, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Worldwide or just the US? Erick (talk) 22:54, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- Worldwide, but similar to how this list has it. Best, jonatalk to me 23:02, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oh. Well see the thing is coming up a definition of a "Latin song" would have to backed up with multiple reliable sources. I was able to create a list of best-selling Latin albums in the US because Billboard and the RIAA have a definition of a "Latin album" (which is having at least 50% Spanish language content). How would you define a "Latin song" and what would the bare minimum of sales need to be included in the list? Not only that, but aside from the US, Mexico, and Spain, there are no other Spanish-speaking countries that hand out certifications for singles so a lot of songs could end up missing out. Then you have to include Portuguese-language songs too because of Brazil and ABPD doesn't handout certifications for singles either. It would be a complicated thing to do at present. Erick (talk) 23:19, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
- Well how about just the term "Spanish-language"? Hey have you heard Romanian Spanish music?. Best, jonatalk to me 01:43, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
- @AJona1992: I would still bothered by the lack of certifications for songs by other Spanish-speaking countries, but something just came up. AJona1992, would you be interested in doing a list for Billboard's Latin Music Hall of Fame? I already have listed all the inductees for Hall of Fame on the Billboard Latin Music Awards article and the list would be something like the Billboard Icon Award and Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year. What do you think? Erick (talk) 18:11, 8 September 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry for a late response. I wouldn't mind creating a list for that, I'll start it here by this week. Best, jonatalk to me 20:53, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

@AJona1992: I'm afraid I just lost interest, I'm sorry. I blame it on my ADHD. But hey look at the bright side. Selena was on the Hall of Fame and what better way to honor her then by making a list where she's included? So what do you think? Should the table look like the one from the Latin Recording Academy with any differences? Erick (talk) 23:46, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- In my opinion, you don't have to agree, but a subsection of the history of the award should be included; followed by the actual list. I don't see the list being something too big for us to compile or complete in the long run, however, you might think otherwise if there's more we can add. What do you think.? Best, jonatalk to me 23:55, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
- Here's what I'm thinking: In a similar vein of the Latin Recording Academy, the first paragraph will describe the origins and description of the award, then the following paragraphs will explain each artist's induction on why s/he was inducted (Billboard does a good job explaining why for each artist on their articles). I'll definitely leave Selena's up to you, because if anyone knows anything about Selena, it's you. Erick (talk) 00:01, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
- @AJona1992: Right so I made the first paragraph and create a table. Tell me what you think, feel free to make any changes, and let me know what you'd like to do for the list. Erick (talk) 04:00, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

- @Debprocter: I notice that some sections are missing references. Every section that has a paragraph should have an inline citation. See WP:Citing sources. Erick (talk) 21:03, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
Thanks - was there one that stood out in particular? Learning as I go along! Debprocter (talk) 21:42, 14 September 2014 (UTC)
- @Debprocter: I counted no less than five sections missing a citation. Every section (and quotations) should have a footnote at the end of the sentence that supports what the prose claims. To give you a good idea of what an ideal biography should look like, look up any musician biographies that are featured articles right here. You can also use the peer review feature in Wikipedia. Re:
I actually saw your post on Facebook. This is some bull. Really. I was so surprised when I saw Romeo Santos didn't have any nominations. Just like last year, a lot of these artists and titles, I haven't even heard before. Marc Anthony got a few nominations. But Calle 13's album didn't even deserve all the nominations it received. It didn't even hit number one and barely even affected the Rap Albums chart. The two singles weren't even that popular either. Although, I will say at least the Urban categories look semi-decent. This just shows how stupid they can be. - DivaKnockouts 16:51, 26 September 2014 (UTC)
- Quality?? Oh my gosh, don't even get me started on their album's quality. Although, a few of them albums do have high quality sounds and rhythms. Santos really deserves at least some more of those nominations. Fol. 1 & 2 were both excellent albums. I swear. - DivaKnockouts 17:05, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- Oh my gosh. That's so very true. Now that I look at it, most of the things he's saying is true. They really need to do something about this, its just sickening. It's really hard to try and see what they like about some of these artists and their respective albums. I'm surprised Marc Anthony got as many nominations as he did tho, I didn't expect him to get any. — DivaKnockouts 17:26, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Hispanic and Latino American task forces
@AJona1992: and @DivaKnockouts:, as fellow Latinos, I thought I'd bring your attention to the new Hispanic and Latino Americans task force I helped revived. So anything tagged under the old Latinos project banner needs to be updated. Also AJona1992, I know we talked about non-Spanish albums by Latinos not being in the Latin music project, but I think it's fine if we included on the Hispanic and Latino task force instead. Categories
Hello, Magiciandude. I notice that you moved a whole bunch of categories like "Foo-Class Latinos articles" to names like "Foo-Class Hispanic and Latino American articles" based on the new name of the project. However, these categories are populated by the template {{WikiProject Latinos}}, which you redirected to {{WikiProject United States}}. It is not clear whether this was intentional or not, but it is going to result in all those categories you moved being emptied because the template will no longer put any articles in them. Also, Wikipedia:WikiProject Hispanic and Latino American does not seem to exist. Just wanted to point this out. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 10:55, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
- @R'n'B: Well actually, WikiProject Latinos has been into a task force for WikiProject United States now called Hispanic and Latino Americans task force. The banner for the task force is now part of the US project and I'm attempting to get a bot approval to replace the old template with the new one. Cheers! Erick (talk) 12:22, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
RIAA Certification
I have no idea what you mean by standard and digital (RIAA site says digital, please check), but just that you know, "unit shipped" has no meaning in digital downloads and is a wrong understanding of certification. RIAA uses shipment for the determination certification for album sales, the units shipped is the number of albums sold to retailers. They don't ship digital single, only physical single (which is practically non-existent now), also the units sold is not the same as the number used for certification because certification now include streaming. Note also the duplicated sentences for sales. Hzh (talk) 13:11, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
- @Hzh:, That's weird, because it had stated "Standard" on the website instead of "Digital" for Bailando before. Perhaps it may have been a mistake on their part. Now that I check, it says "Digital". Go ahead and revert my edit. Erick (talk) 13:22, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
11xPlatinum
Hello Erick! I have another consult. I am working in the Jesse & Joy discography in the Spanish wikipedia, and I found some references ([1][2][3] that say that ¿Con Quién Se Queda El Perro? or Corre! was certified with 11 platinum records in Argentina by digital downloads, I don't know how CAPIF certifies the singles or albums but I think that this are fake, but on their web site contains this. So I want to ask you; Are these reliables sources? Is possible that CAPIF or another Argentinian organization can certifies with 11 platinum records?. Gracias de antemano and sorry for my English. Saludos--Qüemamēÿa彡 ¿Qüiërës häblär cönmigö? 01:41, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

Updating Latin Songs chart for the Latin Music portal
Hey Erick! It's Bryan McLaude. I'd be happy to keep the Latin music portal up to date regarding the Hot Latin Songs and Top Latin Albums chart. I check Billboard every Thursday to keep posted with the most recent #1's and I update the wiki pages accordingly every Thursday, of course if they haven't been updated already. I'll do my best to keep the portal on check with this. I checked out the portal and I think I should have the hang of it. Feel free to talk to me or let me know anything about the project. Bryan McLaude (talk) 06:47, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
Re:
Really, I swear they do it much better. And in most of the categories too. Although, I don't understand the omission of Drama Queen at the 2010 or 2011 awards. It was one of the best selling Urban albums of those years. But the Lo Nuestro Awards may be seen as focusing only on reggaeton albums, and that's not the only genre involved in the term "Urban". But, I guess because there isn't that many mainstream Latin hip hop albums. — DivaKnockouts 13:16, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
- Anyways, I actually will give them that, now that you bring that up. But they can be 20% good and 80% terrible. If I remember correctly, was Celia the first one inducted? I really want to work on some project related to her, in the future, if you are interested. — DivaKnockouts 22:57, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
- @DivaKnockouts: Actually, that's the Billboard Latin Music Hall of Fame (which is currently FLC right now!!!). I created the page for the Latin Grammy Hall of Fame Award and a category for recordings that received the honor. I also created the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, made a category for artists who received it, and created the Latin Grammy Trustees Award. Since the regular Grammys have articles for these, I figured why not the Latin Grammys too? Erick (talk) 00:22, 24 October 2014 (UTC)
- @DivaKnockouts: You know going back to Celia Cruz, I wouldn't working on her biography article. We could make a suggestion on Today's articles for improvement to get extra help and I can ask any of the members of the project to help as well. Erick (talk) 20:17, 26 October 2014 (UTC)

@DivaKnockouts: Ugh, unfortunately something has come up where the issue of capitalization of Spanish-language works has come up, again. I have to get this resolved before I do anything else. (groans) Erick (talk) 16:03, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

DivaKnockouts, AJona1992, I have opened up a discussion at the WP:NCCAPS talk page where either of you can comment about the situation. I'm not forcing you though, so if you're not comfortable about talking about it, that's fine. Erick (talk) 19:03, 3 November 2014 (UTC)
Re: Capitalization of foreign-language works
I'll take a look at the topic you created at that talk page and leave my 2 cents there when I have more time. Thanks for the heads up. By the way, that's a nice WikiProject banner you've got up there in your talk page. Victão Lopes Fala! 20:24, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

Jenni Rivera vandalism
Erick,
It has been brought to my attention the article "Jenni Rivera" has been getting some unproductive edits latley. Is there some sort of protection you could request for the article.
Thanks! Fundude99 (talk) 21:47, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
- @Fundude99: Yes, I had an administrator used pending changes to ensure any vandalism doesn't go over checked. However it seems that persistent vandalism appears, so you can request a semi-protection so that only registered users may edit the article. Erick (talk) 22:56, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
- @Magiciandude: I requested temp. semi-protection and was denied because the admin User:GB fan said, "Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection." So do you think you could make another request for some other sort of protection and explain whats happening. Gracias! Fundude99 (talk) 02:28, 10 November 2014 (UTC)
- @Fundude99: If an admin says it's not enough to justify a semi-protection, then I sadly cannot do anything about that. If more vandalism activity occurs on the article, then try requesting it again.

GA Nomination
Magiciandude,
I nominated article: Jenni (album) for a Good Article. Does an admin have to review it to decide whether it passes or fails or can another user (such as you) decide?
Thanks! Fundude99 (talk) 04:13, 18 November 2014 (UTC)
I pinged you about my reply and haven't receive a response. --George Ho (talk) 04:51, 28 November 2014 (UTC)

Naming conventions per "reliable" sources
The policy is ridiculous; sources that are considered "reliable" are written by individuals who are seldom aware of proper capitalization conventions for any language outside of Europe, and enforcing English naming-conventions on foreign language titles is considered grammatically incorrect even in English; what's to be done if those "reliable" English-language sources disagree on capitalization? Toss a coin? Is it not easier and more sensible to follow a simple rule consistently and throughout. The English-language Wikipedia is the only one to follow such a ridiculous policy such as this. I'd challenge the policy formally if I had the time. Take care.T.W. (talk) 22:38, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- @Taran Wanderer: This was just discussed a few weeks ago here so you're free to voice your opinion there. That said, this is the English Wikipedia, so naturally what English-language reliable sources says take precedent here. Just about every time this issue comes up (such as this, the usage of capitalization found on English-language sources has been preferred. Not to mention that forcing its native capitalization goes against WP:NAME (namely WP:UE) and WP:V. Plus if you read the last part about when sources don't agree on the capitalization, it says "but when such sources use different capitalizations there is some leaning towards the capitalization rules valid for the language of the creator." I did not know that compilation albums are not to be listed under the discography of an author
I did not know that compilation albums are not to be listed under the discography of an author. that album wasn't entirely a compilation, I included 3 new songs which were not previously recorded by the author. my question is where would one properly list albums like that. not entirely a compilation not a whole new albun either.--IndependentThinkr (talk) 20:05, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
- @IndependentThinkr: In Compilation albums and such go to an artist's discography page. Since Ricardo Montaner doesn't have one, you can go ahead and create a discography for him. Erick (talk) 20:51, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

A favor to ask. Updating Latin Music portal and List of number-one Billboard Hot Latin Songs of 2014 page.
Hey Erick! It's Bryan. As we've agreed I've been updating the List of number-one Billboard Hot Latin Songs of 2014 page and the Latin Music portal page with the current #1s week after week. Next week though, which would be the week ending on December 20th, 2014, I may not be able to update the above mentioned pages, although I should be able to resume the week after. Just to inform you, in case you wondered and would like to update these two pages next week or maybe assign someone to do it. Again, the week after Dec. 20th 2014, I would gladly resume the task you assigned me of updating the portal week after week. If I am able to make the update next week I'll try to let you know as well.
Thank you, Erick! Bryan McLaude (talk) 04:25, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Hey Erick! I just started the article and I feel like I would need a little bit a help from you with it hehe. Can you check the Latin countries charts to see whether the song charted? I am not much familiar with it. Any help with sources will be helpful too. Thanks! — Tomíca(T2ME) 19:16, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Tomica: Sure thing! I'll be sure to look any nominations for a Latin music award as well! Cheers! Erick (talk) 19:37, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you, I appreciate it :). — Tomíca(T2ME) 19:39, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
- It turned out pretty good :). Didn't think I would fine a lot of information. The critical reception is a problem though :/. — Tomíca(T2ME) 16:13, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Tomica: Yeah, I can't find any award or nominations for Adios either. It wasn't nominated at the upcoming 2015 Lo Nuestro Awards likely due to it being released after the eligibility date. "Adrenalina" did score some nominations for that award ceremony though. I'm guessing we won't see Adios get nominated (if any) for an award until sometime next year. Erick (talk) 16:18, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- I really hope he already pulls the album, so hopefully we gonna have more reviews. And same for the awards, hopefully it gets nominations. — Tomíca(T2ME) 16:21, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I'd expect more information when the album comes out. Do you intend to work on any other Ricky Martin-related articles? Perhaps I can be of assistance. Erick (talk) 16:29, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- I would like to work on some of the older singles such as "Livin' La Vida Loca" and "She Bangs" although I know it will be pretty hard with finding sources, having the fact they are kinda (G)OLD hehe. — Tomíca(T2ME) 16:31, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Tomica: Pfft, that's nothing. I have worked on Latin music articles much older and obscure than those songs and still managed to make those GA. I'm willing to take on the challenge of improving either article. Erick (talk) 16:36, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Haha. I would be glad to receive your help. We can work on them together and co-nominate them if you are willing too. I would be glad to collaborate with you buddy :). — Tomíca(T2ME) 16:50, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Whenever you're ready bud! So um, which are one are we going to start with? Erick (talk) 16:57, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Since, "She Bangs" is my favorite Martin song of all-time, I would recommend we start with that one :). I am ready to start whenever hehe. — Tomíca(T2ME) 16:59, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Tomica: Alright well, I'll start with the basic stuff like the awards and charts. Just a heads up though, there are no suitable Latin American charts at the time of the singles release. Erick (talk) 17:03, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Haha. And the song was a hit compared to todays Martin singles, unfortunately :/. He lost a lot of fans with his coming-out, however, I think he is still confused about his sexuality but lol nevermind. Still, do you want like to start a sandbox? I always prefer building the article on my/our own rather than fixing it through. — Tomíca(T2ME) 17:05, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Here it is User:Tomica/Sandbox/She Bangs. Starters + the hypothetical sections we could probably fill in. — Tomíca(T2ME) 17:12, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Tomica: Cool! And while I've never been that big a fan of Martin (I listened to his music on the radio before he even crossed-over), I have a lot respect for that guy. Erick (talk) 17:19, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- I have been a fan of his since 1999 when he released "The Cup of Life/La Copa de la Vida". I was 7 years old back then and I remember my first CD that I bought was (and I still keep it!) Vuelve. Then after the Sound Loaded era I forgot him, but now I am making throwback listening to his sexy latino bangers :). Hehe — Tomíca(T2ME) 17:29, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

@Tomica: Yeah, the music Martin used to sing isn't popular in the Latin market anymore. Even Latin ballads don't have a strong impact as they used to. These days, it's all about bachata, reggaeton, and electropop. I do somewhat like "Tal Vez" and "Y Todo Queda en Nada" (both the original and the salsa version). Erick (talk) 17:32, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- I know right! Just compare Wisin's songs with Martin's (commercially!), while I believe Martin is years ahead of him of course lol. Two days I listened to Almas del Silencio in full, it has some really good songs apart of "Jaleo" of course lol. :) — Tomíca(T2ME) 17:34, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Tomica: I personally can't stand Wisin or Yandel since I'm not really into reggaeton. I'm more a Latin ballads/tropical music kind of guy. Yeah, Almas del Silencio was released when Latin pop ballads and boleros were starting to show signs of waning. Then the reggeaton explosion happens one year after and Martin is suddenly forgotten (his next album Life didn't really help at all).
- I hate both Wisin and Yandel. Wisin personally ruined "Adrenalina". I expected another version of the song, an English one only with Ricky and JLO haha :). But sadly didn't happen. Life kinda flopped, because Martin lost his identity. He started singing Latin R&B which was never his thing and I believe people never think of him as a that genre performer and only brought his career on even lower lever. Anyways, I can't watch the English version of She Bangs on YT :@, so If you can, please add the link in the external links section.— Tomíca(T2ME) 17:45, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Man, now you're just making feeling nostalgic for my childhood, lol. I was living in New Jersey when the Latin cross-over began. At least he somewhat recovered with MTV Unplugged (I forgot to mention I like "Pegate" too because it's music from my homeland!). Then faded into obscurity again and his 2011 album was just "bleh" imo. Looks like jumping into the electropop bandwagon was the right choice for him. Erick (talk) 17:56, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hahah I am sorry that I am doing that :/. Yeah his Unplugged album helped him a bit. From his M+A+S I only like "The Best Thing About Me is You". The rest is kinda shit. And yeah lol I really like "Come with Me" at least it was a big hit in Australia. He should stick with it IMO too. — Tomíca(T2ME) 18:00, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Updated #1 song and album for the Latin music portal (12/27/2014)
Hey Erick! Just to let you know that the pages for the #1 US Latin album and song have been updated to reflect the week ending 12/27/2014 and so has the Latin music portal. I managed to do it for free on my cruise in the middle of the ocean ;-) Bryan McLaude (talk) 03:40, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Bryan McLaude: Cool! Where are you at? Erick (talk) 14:20, 19 December 2014 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply, I didn't have much Internet access the whole week. I was actually along the Caribbean. Saw some of the US Virgin Islands. When I wrote the previous post we had left the port of Grenada and managed to get FREE Internet for like 2 hours. Needless to say I took the time to get up to date with the new music charts and make my updates haha. Now I'm back at home in Puerto Rico. But I had an awesome week Erick! Bryan McLaude (talk) 23:51, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Bryan McLaude: That's great to hear! I'm probably to have a vacation on the Caribbean myself next year and also see my homeland (Puerto Rico). Erick (talk) 19:57, 23 December 2014 (UTC).
I'm sure you'll have an awesome time! I would suggest you take cruise if you can too! They make the greatest vacations! Bryan McLaude (talk)
Christina Aguilera Studio Albums (Christina Aguilera / Stripped / Back To Basics /Bionic / Lotus)
Hi, I want to say that " Mi Reflejo" and " My Kind Of Christimas " can not be considered as studio albums . "Mi Reflejo" is an album in Spanish language Christina launched to win fans and fame in Latin America and also because she is half Ecuadorian . This album has almost all the songs from her debut album translated into Spanish . Christina does not consider " Mi Reflejo " as her second studio album since considered as an extension of their debut album led to the Latin American market . Christina considers his second studio album "Stripped " she has said in various interviews.
"My Kind Of Christmas" is a Christmas album . Contains various covers of different Christmas classics that have been interpreted by various artists. It is an album of covers of Christmas , not a studio album . For these reasons I ask you edit the order of Christina studio albums as follows : 1. Christina Aguilera 2. Stripped 3. Back To Basics 4. Bionic 5. Lotus
Thanks for reading and consider this request.( Sorry for my english)

Lo Nuestro Award for Regional Mexican Female Artist of the Year
Erick,
FYI, I changed the table style on Lo Nuestro Award for Regional Mexican Female Artist of the Year to how the others look, hope you like it!
-Fundude99 (talk) 00:01, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Fundude99: Yes, it is much better looking now! Especially with the pictures added, nice work! Erick (talk) 00:07, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Magiciandude: I've created an article for Lo Nuestro Award for Ranchero Artist of the Year, but I can't seem to find the nominees for the 2015 awards ceremony, do you think Univision discontinued the accolade? Also your more than welcome to tweak it a little, if it needs it. Fundude99 (talk) 08:00, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Fundude99: I guess so, I mean I don't see the award anywhere on the 2015 nominations. Anyways, the list is good, so if you want feedback, I recommend asking Jaespinoza as he's one who made the other lists (I simply helped find sources for the nominations for him). He's more experienced with lists than I am. Erick (talk) 16:05, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
Help. List of number-one Billboard Hot Latin Songs of 2015
Hello Erick! I wanted to know if you knew how to start the article page in the subject title, I went to update the weekly #1 but obviously 2014 ran out and the 2015 article has yet to be made. I've never actually made an article, I've just updated and corrected many. I've been reading on how to actually start an article to maybe do so, but I was wondering, since it maybe take some time for me to get the hang of how to do it, if you knew already how to start it that maybe you could do it, or suggest someone who knows how to to start it, and after that I could keep updating it week after week. Hopefully, I'll finally learn how to start an article this time. If you have any other suggestions, they'll be welcome. Bryan McLaude (talk) 16:02, 25 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Bryan McLaude: All you have to create an article for List of number-one Billboard Hot Latin Songs of 2015 is simply click the create page on top and edit as if it was its own article. If you are unable to do that let me know I'll create it for you. Merry Christmas. Erick (talk) 18:32, 25 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Magiciandude: Thank you Erick! With your encouragement I actually managed to pull it together and create the article for List of number-one Billboard Hot Latin Songs of 2015. I thought it might've been more difficult, but I did it following some simple instructions. You're welcome to see the article and see how I did. ;-) Best wishes. - @Bryan McLaude: Yep, that's all there is to it. :) I went ahead and tagged the appropriate project banners on the the talk page as well. Erick (talk) 21:14, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

Advice for next time...
The order of the "Selected song" subpages doesn't matter, so you could have moved the content from Portal:Latin music/Selected song/64 to Portal:Latin music/Selected song/7 and left pages 8 to 63 alone. That would have been much more efficient! -- John of Reading (talk) 08:35, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Jhn of Reading: Argh, can't believe I didn't think of that! That's definitely helpful advice I'll remember. Thanks! Erick (talk) 09:34, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
