A favor to ask

[edit]

Hey Bryan! Thanks for updating the weekly Billboard Latin Songs chart and a greetings for the Latin music project. I have a simple favor to ask of you. Since you seem content on updating the Latin Songs chart every week on the article for it, would you care to do the same for the Latin music portal? All you have to do is update the date and current #1 Latin and song if necessary. Cheers! Erick (talk) 03:14, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Credits on Justified

[edit]

As I pointed out before, those artists are uncredited, in the physical album/tracklist and on iTunes. Those album tracks/singles have been referred to as solo tracks with no featurings, they chartes with only his name as well. Like most uncredited artist, their name are added on the liner notes. I suggest to add their names in a ===Notes=== subsection, like this one. Cornerstonepicker (talk) 03:51, 16 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Demo Castellon

[edit]

Hi Bryan, please stop changing the name of Demo Castellon with an accentuate E. It is not spelled like anywhere and per WP:COMMONNAME and his official Twitter account as well as third party reliable sources like this and this. The normal spelling is what he goes by. And also stop linking Madonna, Timberlake and the other musicians in the infobox because they are already linked and per WP:OVERLINK it is not needed. —IB [ Poke ] 19:40, 3 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Personnel

[edit]

I just want to let you know that you're formatting Personnel sections incorrectly. it's supposed to be "Name - function", and not the other way around. Please check WP:MOSALBUM on other formatting styles. I'm not trying to be rude. I just work toward a consistent formatting throughout album pages. I thought you should know. --Jennica / talk 22:09, 8 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Thank you for pointing out your concern. Curiously the formatting for the 'Personnel' sections I have been adding were taken from the format in various other album articles with way bigger profiles. Not sure which album articles use the format you mentioned, but apparently the majority of recent pop albums do not follow it. But maybe I'll try this format you mentioned from now on. In any case, presently, I think the information is still being presented accurately and well organized, as well as following the pattern in many other articles of higher relevance. @Jennica: Bryan McLaude (talk) 02:09, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That's weird because I've seen the opposite. The majority of articles I come across follow the Name - function format. It's in the album style guide. I'm a stickler for following it so whenever I come across something out of the ordinary, I change it :). I have edited probably over 10k album pages and the Personnel section is formatted correctly 80% of the time. Articles like: My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Joanne (album) and so on which I've not extensively edited on all have followed suit. I was just letting you know. :) --Jennica / talk 02:51, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm... Well it does sound you have more experience on the matter... However, this year I've been helping out a bit in album articles predominantly (discographies by Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5, Kelly Clarkson...) and I never touched the Personnel section in those articles, maybe just to add a missing credit here or there, and if my mind serves right they had the same pattern I'm using to add the sections to the RBD albums. As a reference, check out Piece by Piece, Wrapped in Red (Kelly Clarkson albums). I went over them a bit very recently, but the Personnel section already appeared in the format I was mentioning so I didn't edited them as to me the layout was logical, easy to read and seemed to be the norm in most album articles I'd seen so far.. ...Though I see, you already went ahead and re-arranged... Bryan McLaude (talk) 03:04, 9 December 2016 (UTC) @Jennica:[reply]

Yep. I already fixed those. I have 2 python scripts they help me do it faster. I can't tell if it sounds like you're disagreeing with me. Here's the exact section I'm referencing: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums/Album_article_style_guide#Personnel - and it states "the format used here is "[Name] – [instrument]" --Jennica / talk 03:09, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oh cool. Thanks for pointing out this other method. Perfect for saving time in these articles. @Jennica: Bryan McLaude (talk) 03:12, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

why did you revert my edits? I already linked you to the article :P in the first message I put on here. the WP:MOSALBUM - manual of style album guide ;) --Jennica / talk 03:14, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. The format you used in the 'Personnel' section in your latest revision to Nuestro Amor is much better. It's now better organized and had article links. Great job. I think I'll be using this format just like this one from now on. I'm sure you will too. Thanks again. @Jennica: Bryan McLaude (talk) 04:20, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

List of number-one Billboard Hot Latin Songs of 2017

[edit]

Thank you for this edit to List of number-one Billboard Hot Latin Songs of 2017, but I was in a hurry at that time and was planning to go back and add Bieber in later. I'm aware Billboard began crediting Bieber from this week on, having edited Despacito with that information for the past week after it made the top 10 of the Hot 100. Please stop making disruptive edits, as you did at Rihanna videography.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. First of all, the article has a bronze star, do you know what does that mean? That it was chosen to be one of the best lists on Wikipedia. Also, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be edited from that point on, but the style of the article should be kept as it was when it was proclaimed as a FL. Second, your edits on it, border with vandalism to be honest. Why are you removing the sorting template? Third, I would suggest you to lower your attitude, because it will not do you any good here. List of number-one hits of 2017 (Italy)

[edit]

Hi. I reverted this edit because you added one more to the rowspans when "Perfect" has only been number one for five weeks, and Vasco Rossi's album for four. (You also said you updated the list, but it already had been 10 minutes prior.) Just letting you know in case you missed the second edit summary I meant to write with the revert. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Rise (Katy Perry song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Idolator (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Common terms in the articles. I have reverted you twice and you are still continuing to link these in the pages. Its getting to the point of overlinking and is not allowed. Invitation

[edit]

Dear Bryan,

You are cordially invited to join the Portals WikiProject.

This is a very active project. We are in the process of completely revamping the entire portal system, and cleaning up the portal namespace. After these are done, we'll be greatly expanding the collections of portals. We have many design discussions going on, and many task types to choose from.

We also have a newsletter, that covers the progress of portal development, and the latest toys.

If you are interested, please feel welcome to sign-up at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Portals#Project_participants.

By the way, I'm very interested in what you think of portals. What do you like most about them? What do they lack that they should have? What can't they do, that you would like them to be able to do?

I look forward to your replies.    — The Transhumanist   09:16, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

P.S.: Please {{ping}} me in your reply. Thank you. -TT

Bruno Mars videography

[edit]

Hello

First of all, if you have something to say and complain about, please let the message on my talk page and don't remove it as I still get the notification. Secondly, your edits are greatly appreciated on related articles by Mars. Thirdly, if you want to add some stuff it is great. But be sure it is backed up by the source or add a new source with more information. For instance what you did to the "Other Side music video" it was well done. On the other hand, "Shot in Venice Beach, California", it is not on a given source. If you want you can add one that has such information if you do so, I'll leave it alone. I added the changes you did on "Nothin' on You" MV, if you want you can still keep editing the others as I already stated above your contributions are greatly appreciated.

Kind regards, MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 19:08, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry that you had to read my deleted comments on your talk page; the reason I deleted them was that I regretted having being that brash, and I decided a simple question sufficed as to the reason why you deleted my additions. But as many things, sometimes I can't take things completely back.

I did saw you thanked me for edits on the main Bruno Mars article and discography, and I really appreciate it. But, likewise, I got majorally irked when I saw you reverted the edits on the Bruno music video section, especially when some of the descriptions were seriously lacking, etc., and I blasted back and posted to your talk page what I suddenly thought, but right after posting I thought I went overboard and tried to rectify. Too late I guess.

Anyway, after you mentioned vandalism, I decided not to revert back to my music video edits up to that point and leave them at that. I hope we can continue reaching amicable consensuses when editing the Bruno Mars content. Bryan McLaude (talk) 01:42, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Big Gipp - Sugar, Coco & Honey

[edit]

So I found this interview regarding said song andBig Gipp talks about The Smeezingtons producing it. I thought so as it sounds like their first productions such as nothin' on you. However, they were probably the songwriters but I can't confirm that as of right now. I found another interview where he talks about the origins of the song, but not much. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 21:55, 7 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Interview around minute 9:39

@MarioSoulTruthFan:I hear ya. I actually stumbled on the song by coincidence surfing iTunes looking for Bruno's most recent songs to buy like "Please Me". I was actually surprised it had been never included in the discography or 'List of songs recorded article' since the song's been out for at least 4 years, though it seems it was a release that went pretty under the radar and I couldn't find too much info on it at first. Bryan McLaude (talk) 02:41, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It even went under my radar. I know it as a demo, but I never noticed it was released officially on a mixtape. It's next to impossible to find the credits. I tried ASCAP, warner Chappel, BMI...nothing came out of them. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 17:01, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Dangerous Woman, you may be blocked from editing. Cool Marc 06:12, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have not entered incorrect information. You are simply eliminating information for the sake of it without verifying it. All the information I corrected or added appears in source materials as referenced and sometimes even in the article themselves. Why are you calling it vandalism? If anything, eliminating information like you're doing for no apparent reason is what's vandalism here. Bryan McLaude (talk) 12:40, 3 June 2020 (UTC) Cool Marc [reply]

In fact, Cool Marc , I'm so tired of you "editors" eliminating information recklessly without verifying it... I'll correct and edit articles only once. If whoever afterwards vandalizes it I will not attempt to correct it again just to be threatened of 'disruptive editing, vandalism, and possibility of being blocked'. If articles are changed to incorrect information, at least I'll have the reassurance of having tried to provide correct, complete and accurate information. Despite whatever information you "editors" eliminate without verifying, I know what's truth and correct and what is not. Or at least, I actually verify before I eliminate someone's edit without a second thought. Bryan McLaude (talk) 12:55, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bryan McLaude, What are you talking about? You blatantly re-added numerous fake chart positions and changed to fake chart peaks, non-existent all-time charts. This is clearly a deliberate addition of factual errors and vandalism. You also added MOS:SMALLTEXT, MOS:COLLAPSE and Template:Infobox album violations. Cool Marc 13:03, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notes about stylisations

[edit]

Notes about stylisations are being considered redundant by increasing numbers of editors because they are trivial in most instances. I guarantee Tha Supreme being written as "Thasup" in a few cases, and his latest album's title are not the only thing FIMI "stylises" and I don't see why this is necessary to note or why you've chosen this particular artist and album to point out the stylisation of. Do you think "Thasup" and the album title are indeciperhable otherwise? If you insist on having the footnotes, please start a discussion on the talk page as your bold edit instating them has been reverted (per WP:BRD). MOS:CAPS, WP:TMRULES and so on tell us that we should disregard stylisations and type things in line with Wikipedia's standard capitalisation, so I did that in the first place. A title full of symbols (that has been typed 'normally' in news sources as well) is more preferable to having the stylised title present, even in a note, which seems like a very minor detail, and would be more suited for an article actually about the work in question and not on a number ones list. Finally, adding 200 bytes [1] is never a minor edit and not what a minor edit is intended to denote, so please don't mark it as such. Thank you. Ss112 15:22, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've noticed only edits of 500 bytes or more are considered major, even the bytes amount is THEN marked in bold, not UNDER 500 bytes.

In any case, I don’t have any issue with the notes being eliminated (although they were informative), but at least in my recent memory on these charts no other artist appeared credited with a different name aside from Tha Supreme, so I thought it was noteworthy. I also noted FIMI very rarely writes title names stylized, so that's why I thought it was noteworthy as well.

In any case, at least I'm aware of these name and title differences, so I thought I'd inform the public. But since the notes are apparently not welcome, I guess if anyone wants to know more they’ll have to research outside of this article page.Bryan McLaude (talk) 20:29, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I fully understand you were editing in good faith and only wanted to avoid any potential confusion from readers and so I respect that. As for Wikipedia's bolding of how many bytes were added to/taken away from a page in the history, I think that's just a different indication of significance, as WP:MINOR states "A good rule of thumb is that edits consisting solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of the content should be flagged as minor edits." (emphasis in original) Per that, I think it's safe to say everything else should not be marked as such. Ss112 08:11, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, okay. Thanks for the information on minor edits. I'll try to keep it in mind for future edits. Bryan McLaude (talk) 21:56, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
