Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue triggering the edit filter, you may be blocked from editing. elektrikSHOOS (talk) 16:38, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

can you help me? - I was just adjusting parameters to this template. Chihciboy (talk) 16:40, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly. What were you trying to do? elektrikSHOOS (talk) 16:41, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I was just adjusting this assessment/tag WikiProject Banner template that I made as I noticed that it was auto-categorized as WikiProject banners with formatting errors. Chihciboy (talk) 16:44, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm. It might be that because you're a new editor, the automated filter is indiscriminately blocking you from adding those. In which case, I'm sorry for the above warning. Please disregard. Though, a note of caution: if the edit filter stops you from doing something, it's likely not going to allow it in subsequent attempts. I'll add those parameters in a second. elektrikSHOOS (talk) 16:48, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've granted your account 'confirmed' status to allow you to make those edits to the template while I try to fix the filter. Reaper Eternal (talk) 16:52, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And I've fixed the errors in the template to the best of my knowledge. Let me know if you need anything else, either here or on my talk page. elektrikSHOOS (talk) 16:54, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you guys very much! Chihciboy (talk) 16:56, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Tito Sotto, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Blogger (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Person of Interest Season 1 DVD.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Person of Interest Season 1 DVD.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Miss Independent music video.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Miss Independent music video.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 18:46, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Breakaway (reply)

[edit]

Hey Chihciboy, I would be more than happy to help, to be honest I have been procrastinating fixing up the 'My Life Would Suck Without You' page for months but not really had the chance due to a massive studying schedule. I will however do what ever I can to help, I added a couple of more bytes to Kelly's voice section of interst but they were pinched from other pages and used for the context, so it didn't take me minutes. If there is anything specific on the Breakaway page you would like assistance with please feel free to drop me a line, thanks for getting into contact. Much appreciated. License tagging for File:Chinese Idol logo.png

TemplateData is here

[edit]

Hey Chihciboy

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

You apparently have not been keeping up with the conversation. The article Kelly Clarkson's (Cautionary) Christmas Tale has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Too soon

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would ask that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You). Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you continue to add the Dance/Mix Airplay chart into the table, then you may be face more warnings or perhaps a more serious consequence. Just because one person on this thread, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Record_charts/Archive_11, said that he or she thinks that they should be separate, it doesn't make it a rule. Fact is, that per WP:USCHARTS, which is the guideline that believe it or not, ALL of us have to abide by, Dance/Mix Airplay is not allowed to be included. If you feel that this is wrong, bring it up on the talk page of WP:USCHARTS and raise your concerns there and try to reach a consensus. Until then, it stays out indefinitely. You also need to realise that these guidelines exist so that table charts do not become exceedingly long.  — ₳aron 09:23, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for updating this. Just a heads-up (in case you edit it again in the future) — once Billboard refreshes their charts, they delete the "Chart Highlights" article, which then leaves a dead link on Wiki. So when you're adding new number-ones, you also need to point the previous week directly to the chart itself. I fixed it here: [3].... thank you! - eo (talk) 11:50, 28 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If there is no number applied to songs on the Ultratip, you cannot invent one by counting down the list after the top 50 (the only part of the chart that is numbered) into another list that is alphabetical, and then apply a number to how far down Kelly Clarkson is listed. You have inserted original research onto an article, and I'm sure you're aware this goes against Wikipedia's core policies. If there is no number listed next to a song, you cannot invent one. You can write in the prose that the song ranked on the Ultratip charts, as this is correct, but you can't list a number for it. Please don't reinsert OR and quite frankly WP:SYNTH into an article (because you are combining a numbered list with a non-numbered one). Thank you. Ss112 02:06, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but you restored the peaks that aren't visible on the page to the article. Source code can't really be cited, and you were sticking by your decision to reinstate the chart positions, and that appears to be original research. Some editors don't know that that is original research or that they're doing something that is not particularly approved of (you aren't the first to add peaks from the Ultratip that don't have numbers next to them). I don't think asking you not to add it again is not being civil or particularly condescending—I told you what was OR about it and then said surely you know that even if you don't know that what you added is OR, that OR is against WP policy. There was no condescension from my side. The civility notice on my talk page is a notice for editors who I have history with not to come to my talk page with petty remarks, not my personal philosophy, but even still, I don't see what you're seeing in what I said. Please do not create redirects without inserting a reliably sourced mention at the target article. There is currently no mention of I Dare You to Love at the target article, and there should be.
