Issues

on the page Brooks Dodge... look at ref #1 and #3 about the being part of the team to develop Wildcat mountain slulek (talk) 18:41, 24 April 2019 (UTC)

I've got some issues here. Cricinfo is constantly changing one of the T20I debutants of Spain. They also added back two cricketers who made their T20 debut in 2018 Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy. Robiul Haque made his T20 debut in one of the match in 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League, which for some reason you ignored. Human (talk) 15:59, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi. The whole Spain T20I thing is a bit of a mess all round, with little or no coverage from CI, the ICC or other sources. I'll take a look at this at some point, likely tomorrow now. Thanks for flagging it up. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:07, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
Updated the article for Robiul Haque - apologies for not doing so at the time. I usually spot 99% of the debuts! Thanks (again) for flagging it up. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:35, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

Just to inform you, Braceabby is a sockpuppet of an indefinitely banned user. If you see them editing cricket related articles, please them immediately. Human (talk) 01:26, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

Look at these revisions here, here and here. The user I mentioned above has been reverted multiple due to sockpuppet allegations. Despite that the user is editing IPL templates. Please can you report it to the administrators. Human (talk) 11:53, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
Hi. You'll need to a log it at WP:SPI. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:03, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

A cricketer named Harpreet Brar made his T20 debut yesterday in IPL. So an article needs to be formed (It's been a tough day for me today so I wasn't very much active). Human (talk) 11:52, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

Ha! Just finished creating him as you posted this! Hope you're OK. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:53, 21 April 2019 (UTC)

Abdul Breesam Rahman / Abdul Rahman Mohammed

Hi, I made a research and these two are 100% the same person, this guy's fullname is "Abdul-Rahman Breesam Mohammed" (Brisam or Breesam) or simply "Abdul-Rahman Breesam" (and in Arabic "عبد الرحمن بريسم") since in Iraq they use the givenname and the father-name only. I can read Arabic in some level and I found few sources that confirms it, for example here is the list of Iraqi athletes at the 1980 Olympics and here is the list of Iraqi wrestlers and their results at the 1984 Olympics in both of them he is mentioned in Arabic as Abdul-Rahman Breesam, he is (or was) a coach of Iraq wrestling team so there are several articles mentioning him in Arabic, all of them as Abdul-Rahman Breesam. I wouldn't care much if it was just transliteration differences, but having two pages for the one person is something should not happen in wikipedia. Mohsen1248 (talk) 00:59, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Brilliant - thanks for your work on this. I've merged them into one article. If you spot any others like this, please drop me a note. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:19, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi, Almost every content of this page https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maninder_Singh_(kabaddi) is directly based on Various national dailies so the information contained herein is not based on primary research. REMOVING CONTENT FROM Amaju Pinnick

Hello Lugnuts,

I was in the process of adding sources but i slept off this morning as it was about 3am my time. I will revert back to my version and add the sources. Thanks in advance. Lapablo (talk) 08:25, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

John Campbell (runner) deletion

Hello and good day. Yesterday I put on his page that he set the Masters Record for the marathon at the 1990 Boston Marathon, has since been broken but stood at that time as the Masters Record at 2:11:04. I don't know how to cite my sources, but if you Google his name, click on A Master among Masters|SI.com dated 6/17/1991 and click on Otago Daily Times 10 October 2013 and both articles state his record 1990 Boston Marathon Masters victory. Can you put back what I entered and source with those two articles? At the time, he probably was among the top Masters runners in the world in the early 1990s. Is worth adding, was a notable achievement. Thank you for your time and have a great day!2601:581:8000:21B0:304C:CD3D:3958:6A95 (talk) 12:28, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

I was just wondering, did you need to delete Carlo Romano's dubbing contributions? What about Richard O. Linke? I added new page that he died In aged 98. Ryan Pikachu (talk) 13:04, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

Clearly we disagree on the relative notability of a career physicist (Sarah E. Gibson) vs. a college swimmer (Sarah Gibson). As a physicist myself I may be biased, so I'm writing to you directly. Sarah E. Gibson leads a major research unit of a national laboratory and has advanced human understanding of how stars and our environment work, over the course of a long, storied, and award winning career; and is routinely called upon to testify before Congress and set national science policy. While Sarah Gibson (swimmer) has accomplished quite a bit athletically and is also an Aggie, this is probably not quite as notable over the long term unless, say, she goes on to compete in the Olympics or causes a national controversy of some kind.

Rather than enter an edit war with you, I propose that a disambiguation page at Sarah Gibson, pointing to Sarah Gibson (swimmer) and Sarah E. Gibson for the two names is more appropriate. I will wait a day or so for a response before implementing that. zowie (talk) 15:45, 24 April 2019 (UTC)

The hatnote does the job fine, IE linking to Sarah E. Gibson from the swimmer. Also, take a look at what links to Sarah Gibson. About 50 pages, all to do with swimming. I might be more convinced if it was an equal split. So when you did your move, you didn't bother to re-target all those links too. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:18, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
If hatnotes did the job fine, you wouldn't have felt the need to revert my edit (which included a hatnote also).
Interestingly, I'm not sure what's going on with the links-to tool, but spot-checking a few of the pages reveals that it's not working. The first few pages on the list don't contain the case-insensitive string "sarah", for example.
Clearly both Sarahs are notable: a Google search for "Sarah Gibson" swim yields 63,600 results while "Sarah Gibson" sun yields 154,000 results. Both have appeared on television and in numerous publications. So we're not talking about some obscure academic vs. a sports superstar. A quick Google search, on the name only, finds more Sarah Gibsons on the threshold of notability, as well. So a disambiguation page is the better choice. zowie (talk) 16:30, 24 April 2019 (UTC)

Jeepers I'm getting old

Hello L. I hope you are well. I'm used to (and appreciate) restoration work for films made before I was born but am still amazed that films I saw in the theater get the same treatment. It sorta speaks to the fact that film is an ephemeral art form even though that seems counter-intuitive. Another one I remember seeing as a youngster is War and Peace (film series). It has received a meticulous restoration and I am looking forward to its upcoming Criterion release in June. I just received this book about the making of the film and it is fascinating. Best regards to you and enjoy the rest of your weekend. MarnetteD|Talk 13:08, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi MarnetteD. I'm well thanks, hope you are too. It Cannes season (again), so that's when my film editing ramps up a bit, unless cricket gets in the way! It also must be Kubrick season too. This morning on the BBC News, there was an item about an upcoming exhibition in London which looks really good. Maybe I can catch it if I time a meeting down there to coincide, hehe. And the BBC are showing lots of Kubrick films over the next few days, including 2001 and Paths of Glory too. So that's my evening sorted. Take care. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:22, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

Some bubble tea for you!

Thanks for your tireless wiki-gnoming. Every so often, I go to a random page in Category:No local image but image on Wikidata and add an image thereto. They're usually pretty obscure pages (since if people were truly interested in them, they would likely have noticed that we already have an image for them on Commons). A few hours later, those pages float back to the top of my watchlist - because you edited them, correcting overlinking here, mis-paragraphing there. Thanks. It makes me feel good to know that you're out there giving a quick once-over to these mostly neglected pages. GRuban (talk) 21:28, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
No problem - every edit helps. On a related note, I setup this search some time ago for Olympians with no image, but pic on WD, which I work on from time to time. And thanks for the tea. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 06:46, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Nadeem Khan

Don't know why you removed the link. The squad source clearly mentioned that the player played international cricket for Pakistan. For that tournament Cricinfo can't be trusted as much of the information is missing. Human (talk) 07:48, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

OK, if you think it's the same person, then re-link him, but he is nearly 50 years old, hence the doubt! Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:49, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
Age doesn't matter actually. Dennis Lillee played professional cricket in his 50's. Human (talk) 07:55, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
Fair point! Just looked incorrect at first. Also, if you spot any of the players on that tour, from any team, who've played in FC/LA matches previously, drop me a note and I'll create an article. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:57, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Global T20 Canada

Hi. The official website of Global T20 Canada has removed the Cricket West Indies B Team from its team list. Instead I saw in their Twitter page that they have listed a new team by the name New York Legends in their last tweet. I didn't find any other source about the new team, so what should be done about this matter (also a team based in an American city in Canadian league is weird). Human (talk) 17:14, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

I'm guessing the regular cricket news cites will have something shortly. It's not unhead of for a team from one country to take part in another country's domestic tournaments. New Zealand took part in Australia's List A competiton in the 1970s, for example. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:20, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Oh yes. I forgot USA and Canada are like siblings. Canadian teams usually play in American domestic sports competitions like the NFL. Though the opposite isn't common. Human (talk) 17:43, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
And New York (city) isn't that far away from Toronto. I've driven most of that route myself a few years ago. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:45, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

ICC Americas

Hi there, I wonder if you can help with this page. I notice that the map of members has three colours. Red indicating full members, and both green and orange indicating Associate Members. I assume originally green indicated Affiliate Members and that someone has changed the legend so that they both now mean associates. I can't download the image and simply recolour it (like I did for the map on African Cricket Association). Do you know if there is a 'blank' map file anywhere for the Americas that can easily be coloured? Cheers Bs1jac (talk) 12:16, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi. I have no idea how to create and colour maps, but I believe Blue Square Thing has skills in this area, based on this post a while ago. Hope that helps. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:21, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
Cheers. Blue Square Thing and I work closely on Kent cricket related stuff, so I'll ask him Bs1jac (talk) 12:58, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

I have a question. Based on what did the ICC publish the T20I rankings? Most of the newer countries didn't play T20Is. So how are the ratings calculated? Human (talk) 13:53, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

They also include T20 matches that are not full T20I fixtures. The same thing happened when the first women's rankings were created, even though some teams had not played a (W)T20I match at that point. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:56, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

TheFamousPeople.com as a source

Hi Lugnuts. I noticed that you recently used thefamouspeople.com as a source in Andy Warhol filmography. Divine Love edits

Hello, Lugnuts! I'm not really understanding your changes on Divine Love page, I work at the producer company of the film, so I know that a movie can have three premieres around the world. Also, I can't understand why you say that the text is superfluous if it say all the details about the production (and many people are interested in knowing about it). Can we discuss about it? Thank you. magnusnatalia (talk) 8:33, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi @Magnusnatalia:. Thanks for your post. As you state you work for the production company of the film, please read through our page about conflict of interests. By definition, a film can only premiere once. Adding all the information about the crew may be interesting to people knowing about it, but it is not added here to the article on WP. All the info on make-up, sound, editing, etc, can be found on the film's website (if it has one), or another database, such as IMDB. Please take a look at our style guide for film articles. This will give you more information about the layout and content of an article. The release section states "Do not include information on the film's release in every territory" - there is simply no need to list every single festival release either. Here is an example of one of our best film article on WP (note the little gold star in the top-right of the page). This does not contain all the extra crew listings and festival screenings. If you have any further questions, you may find the talk page of the Film Project of help. Thanks again. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:37, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

edit Peter Brotherton

@Lugnuts - you changed a notice of death i added for Peter Brotherton. Could you either replace it with same details, if possible? Peter did pass away as stated - I was unsure of how to add a death correctly. PDM888 (talk) 09:50, 10 May 2019 (UTC)

@PDM888: - do you have something online that confirms this? If so, post it here, and I'll update. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me

Lugnuts - unfortunately not. I have tried to find this, even by searching the database of deaths etc - for some reason, it's not registered, or online as yet. Date of death, to my knowledge is July 14th 2018 - in NSW. I will keep looking. Thanks for the reply.PDM888 (talk) 17:04, 10 May 2019 (UTC)

Some more issues

Hi. This isn't related to any editing. I noticed whenever any minor issue rises relating cricket articles, editors usually try to tag your name in a discussion. I hope you don't mind them. I were you I would've been pissed off. Editing with indian editors specially is a tough job, given they become emotional easily (No, I'm not disrespecting any country or being racist). Human (talk) 09:55, 10 May 2019 (UTC)

Harmanjot Singh

Hi, I think Harmanjot Singh is the same person as Rohit Singh (German cricketer), who is now listed in Cricinfo as making his T20I debut for Germany today. They have separate Cricinfo pages at the moment, but the live feed listed the prior name and referred to him as Rohit in the commentary. I guess wait a while and see if Cricinfo adjusts itself first, but otherwise perhaps you could help tidy this up if necessary? Just wanted to get your thoughts. Thanks! But do you take away a curiosity? :)

Is it correct that I established that you have to make even a last minimal change to each of the 60,131 pages you've created? :) Rather, tell me, how did it end with the ranking of users by pages created, did you know anything more if they do it again? --Kasper2006 (talk) 07:06, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

Boyd Rankin - 200 international wickets

I guess You're lesser know about cricket facts. I have reverted your edits of " Boyd Rankin took 200 int'l wickets" but you're reluctant to accept that showing your administrator power.. As I described Boyd Rankin took something around 140+ wickets in int'l cricket. But you're not accepting the facts. you're mingling First class & List-A cricket with international. Obviously, he has played intercontinental cup. but that was a First class match not Test.
And for your information: First class cricket, List A cricket, Twenty20 are base of cricket formats and Test, ODI and T20I are international format of these base format. A Test, ODI, T20I are obviously FC, LA & T20 cricket and runs, wickets of these formats are also accumulated in FC, LA and T20 format of one cricketer's profile but the latters formats are not international hence the runs, wickets of these formats are not counted in international format. I guess You would understand these facts.

Thank you. ImSonyR9 (talk · contribs)

@ImSonyR9: Multiple sources state that Rankin has 200 international wickets. He has played in first-class matches that are international fixtures. For example, Ireland vs Papua New Guinea (taking 3 wickets), Ireland vs the Netherlands (taking 5 wickets), and Ireland vs Scotland (taking 4 wickets) during the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup. These are all international matches, outside of ODIs, T20Is and Test matches. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:09, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
@Lugnuts: I prefer, You ccheck yourself his Cricbuzz profile & ESPNCricinfo profile. I guess these stats won't lie.

Thank You ImSonyR9 (talk · contribs)

Yes, they show Test and ODIs, but those Intercontinental Cup matches are also international fixtures! He's played for the international side of Ireland against the international side of Scotland. And the international side of Papua New Guinea. And the international side of the Netherlands. If you're not happy and/or confused about this, please ask the question at the Cricket Project. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:21, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
Even though the matches you are mentioning are played between two countries, but those are not international matches recognized by ICC. ICC recognizes 3 type of matches - 5 day test (between countries having test status), ODI (between countries having permanent or temporary ODI status as of match date) and T20I (between two recognized countries). The matches you have mentioned are 4-day division 1 matches which were played before Ireland (& Afghanistan) received official test status and ICC recognizes these as First-class matches. mitratanmoy
Of course they're recognized by the ICC - it's called the ICC Intercontinental Cup for one. If you want further clarity, please raise your concerns at the Cricket Project. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:13, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

Cricinfo made a mistake I guess. The matches are officially rescheduled by ICC, which means the teams didn't play a match. The points table in Cricinfo doesn't show any points either. Human (talk) 09:23, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

It's a bit confusing at the minute - the rescheduled matches do have different scorecards too. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:24, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi. This is mitratanmoy. You have removed the latest edits of mine form the ICC T20 World Cup qualifier Africa. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018%E2%80%9319_ICC_T20_World_Cup_Africa_Qualifier). I added the abandoned matches which you have removed. I believe, if any match in any tournament is being washed out, that also should be mentioned. Please let me know your thoughts. mitratanmoy (talk) 10:26, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

Please see the comments in this section. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:44, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

Thanks. Seems it was confusing and even ICC did not had updated schedule. mitratanmoy

No worries. Uganda Cricket have updated the match schedule, so the ICC/Cricinfo will catch up at some point! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:57, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

What a poor batting display from Botswana given they were the sub-regional champions. I hope Nigeria can pull off a suprise and go through just like their under-19 team. Human (talk) 12:23, 22 May 2019 (UTC)

Yes, that match was only going to end in one outcome! Pretty even group I thought going into the regional final. Be tough for Nigeria now, facing Uganda and Namibia in their final two matches, but you never know. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:27, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
Rain actually saved Nigeria now that Uganda is eliminated despite their decent performance. Human (talk) 11:38, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

Help

Hi, there is a dispute going on the pages of some Indian football teams, especially Mohun Bagan, Bengaluru FC and East Bengal. A editor Jitp33 is continuously doing unnecessary and incorrect edits, that we and ever other editors are not agree with the changes. I have tried to come to a conclusion on his talk pages, but he never responds. Please help with this issue. If you come across his talk page, he has been already warned couple of times from blocking due to his disruptive editing and not bothering attitude. DeoxysX (talk) 07:35, 21 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi @DeoxysX:. I don't really have any interest in football, but I see that Jitp33 has just been blocked for 31hrs for disruption. I guess if they continue with this in 32hrs time, they'll get a longer block. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:39, 21 May 2019 (UTC)

Pages Iist

Hello, Lugnuts. As I promised, here are some of the articles we should move to their primary topic as everyone of the following represented their national sides. Please, check these.

Thanks. Störm (talk) 17:08, 21 May 2019 (UTC)

@Störm: - Thanks for the list. I'll go through them all over the next day or so and tag them as done, as per Abdur Rehman. Any issues, I'll note them here too. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:18, 21 May 2019 (UTC)

@Störm: - Done, apart from Ashfaq Ahmed and Zulqarnain. Seeing as Ahmed's page has been moved and moved back, I don't want to start a move-war, so if you think it should be moved, then it'll need to be done via WP:RM. As for Zulqarnain, I don't think either stub article would mean the international cricketer is the primary topic. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:02, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

removing content from this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roads_in_February

Hello Lugnuts , I added info to this page yesteraday and you removed it. The info I added about this film concernend: festivals, screenings, cast and crew. Most of this info can be verified on the film's IMDB page or the filmmmakers website (www.katherine-jerkovic.com). I am new to wikipedia so maybe I did something wrong? In any case I worked on this film so you can be sure that the info I added was adequate. Thanks. Humble contributeur

Hi @Humble contributeur:. Thanks for your post. Adding all the information about the crew (per this diff) may be interesting to people knowing about it, but it is not added here to the article on WP. All the info on sound design, line producer, etc, can be found on the film's website (if it has one), or another database, such as IMDB. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 15:21, 28 May 2019 (UTC)

Malaysia Quadrangular series

Hi! Another user brought to my attention that the ICC calendar is now listing T20I fixtures for a Malaysia quadrangular series in June (after the Europe matches). I created the 2019 Malaysia Quadrangular Series article. When looking for references, I came across this calendar I noticed that it is labelled as 'MALAYSIA T20I QUADRANGULAR SERIES 1', with 'MALAYSIA T20I QUADRANGULAR SERIES 2' scheduled for July. So that will probably be another article to create once details are out, but I wondered what we'd call that if it does happen? 2019 Malaysia Quadrangular Series (July)?Bs1jac (talk) 17:25, 28 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Good spot. Seeing as there is only six fixtures for phase one, maybe just have it all on the same article, with a section for June and another for July? Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:31, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
That's a great solution, which I hadn't considered. Thanks for doing that and setting up the talk page too. Bs1jac (talk) 17:47, 28 May 2019 (UTC)
No problem! I can't seeing it becoming too difficult to manage/navigate with a dozen or so matches. Hopefully some coverage somewhere about it. PNG aren't too bad at posting some news about their national team. I wonder how many sixes the Maldives have smashed into the Indian Ocean...! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:55, 28 May 2019 (UTC)

Proper tournament.

Make 3 teams get qualify & 3 eliminate from each group And thus make a playoffs. Darshan patel95 (talk) 13:02, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

You'll need to contact the ICC to get them to change the format. As it stands, there are no QF matches, just a semi-final and final. Please do not re-add incorrect information to the article here. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:04, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi there. Looks like we were editing the Guernsey squad at the same time (you beat me to it!). after I finally managed to get them to post it. I think Ashley Wright might be Ashley Wright? Bs1jac (talk) 14:30, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

Haha, I thought it was odd they hadn't named their squad yet! Yes, I reckon it could be the same player, esp. with the Guernsey Cricket Board connection in the article. There is no A Wright listed as a Guernsey player on Cricinfo (yet). Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:32, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

The 2019–21 ICC World Test Championship is beginning from July 2019 when India will face West Indies. But there are 2 test matches which are scheduled to be played between New Zealand and England in November-December 2019, are not listed in the 2019-21 Test Championship nor those bave been enlisted in that Championship. Why?

Thank You. ImSonyR9 (talk · contribs)

Hi. I did notice that Eng/NZ was not part of the Test Championship (which I find very odd in itself). I think the simple answer is that two sides can still play a Test series against each other, even if it's not part of the Championship. IE, those matches can take place, but won't get any points towards the title. In the case of this series, both teams have a great history of good quality Test matches against each other, and it would be a shame for them not to play each other. Quick question

Hi - Another busy weekend of T20I action! Thanks for creating the player articles... I got one in yesterday morning other than that it's great that you are so quick on these while I focus on the lists etc; really helps everyone involved. A very minor question, do you have a preference (and is there a reason why one is correct/incorrect) over tagging the * indicating Not Out as 'Not out|*' (using the exact title of the article) or 'not out|*'. Both work, neither indicate a redirect, and regardless of how it is tagged hovering the cursor over the link displays 'Not out' (the actual article title). I have used the prior option countless times in county cricket (mostly Kent) pages, but another user keeps changing it in T20I articles which seems unnecessary to me. If there is a reason why I am 'wrong' I am happy to change my tagging going forward, but I just don't see the reasoning at present - thought your opinion would be helpful. The same user has been somewhat aggressive (perhaps not intentionally) in comments in general lately, perhaps not realising the research work going on behind the scenes in preparation for these series, beyond the simple match day updates. Thanks again as always! Bs1jac (talk) 13:17, 16 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi! Yes, another busy T20I weekend indeed. More than happy to create the player articles. For the query, I've always written it as "not out" and not "Not out" on a match scorecard. My reasoning has always been that if you write it out in a sentence, it would be lower-case. For example, "Ben Stokes finished 100 not out". But that's just my preference. I don't think there's a right or wrong way TBH. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:21, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
@Lugnuts and Bs1jac: and that 'user' is me. If you are still about my behaviour then I apologise again. I didn't say you were 'wrong'. I just think it is nice to to do the same thing everywhere. Human (talk) 13:28, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
@A Simple Human: And that's a fair comment. Bs1jac (talk) 13:30, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
@Bs1jac: the thing is that I didn't start editing international matches until last year. I usually edited franchise cricket related articles all over the world and articles about Bangladesh. Just because I don't edit much in international cricket doesn't mean I don't care about it. I know the behind the scenes very as long as I can see everyone's edit history. Thanks. Human (talk) 13:35, 16 June 2019 (UTC)

BPL

I didn't find any English source for the dates of the next edition of Bangladesh Premier League. But I did find a couple of Bengali sources and those are trustworthy as they are promoted by the BCB. Can I cite them in the 2019–20 Bangladesh Premier League as the only sources or an English source is also needed. I noticed today in the WC group stage article that an user cited a Bengali source. Human (talk) 07:21, 18 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Yes, as long as they are reliable, the sources don't have to be in English. And a great win for Bangladesh yesterday! Great innings by Shakib and Das. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:23, 18 June 2019 (UTC)

Regional Finals

For the Germaany vs Jersey match, The Twitter account of Jersey said there will be a reschedule of the match with date not announced. But CI already calculated the points in the table assuming the match as abandoned. The match between Germany and Norway have no updates regarding a reschedule. What can be done? Human (talk) 15:10, 18 June 2019 (UTC)

I think we just wait. This sort of thing has happened before (in the World Cricket League, if I recall), where all matches on a given day were not counted as starting, and moved to a reserve day. Becomes a bit of a mess for anyone who debuts today, if that is what happens. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 15:12, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
I knew it was the WCL - 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Four from last May. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 15:21, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
Hi mate. I was going to ask similar. Would seem odd if stats from matches with official T20I status were completely erased from history. Usually the games would still count statistically, even if they were replayed (would count as 2 matches). Yes, we should wait and see. I have already updated the DEN and GUE players list stats and added Jordan Martel to the overall list, but may have to adjust if stats change in CI. I am not touching stats for the ITA - DEN match for which the toss took place as CI is still showing 14 players earning an appearance for each team so stats there are unreliable anyway for now. Why they couldn't just leave it as a no result once started! Bs1jac (talk) 18:05, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
Hopefully they'll keep the matches for player stats, but not use the no results in the points table. But that would be too simple! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:25, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
Cricinfo should catch-up (IMO) with the updated scorecards for today, with the last match being a no result and not abandoned now the toss has happened. Then again... Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:28, 18 June 2019 (UTC)
Absolutely the logical route. Hence why I think the two 'no results' should remain on the article with a footnote... but lets see what actually happens over the next couple of days. Bs1jac (talk) 20:22, 18 June 2019 (UTC)

Category "Births in" the same as category "People from" ???

Hi, as far as I understand it, you can be "from somewhere" without being born there : for instance, you was born in an hospital and your parents are living somewhere else where you spend your life. Are you "from" the place you never live ? Le Passant (talk) 10:41, 19 June 2019 (UTC).

Hi. Assume this relates to categories you've created such as Category:Births in Dreux and Category:Births in Eure-et-Loir. We don't use this category structure on WP, simply people from X location. For example, there is a Category:People from London, but not Category:Births in London. Here's a similar discussion that resulted in the deletion of the category. These birth/death categories will probably be deleted too. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:18, 19 June 2019 (UTC)

Nicolaj Damgaard Laegsgaard

Hi - I think this this article needs to be moved to 'Nicolaj Laegsgaard' as this is now how it is listed in Cricinfo, the ICC, and even Cricclubs. CI has it as Laegsgaard ND, i.e. a middle name of Damgaard. I could move this myself, but wanted to check with you first. Cheers! Bs1jac (talk) 20:17, 19 June 2019 (UTC)

Lantouri Movie

Hello Lugnuts! Regarding the Lantouri Movie, I honestly don't get the logic behind your action when you reverting my edits every time. And what is exactly worth as a Award or Nomination to be mentioned in the section of Award and Nominations of this movie from your point of view?!? Do you even yourself know that? Based on what exactly you decide that "16th !f Istanbul Independent Film Festival, Best Film Award" doesn't worth to be mentioned? Or another example is "Braunschweig International Film Festival in Germany, Black Lion Award". I don't get it when you revert the edits and delete all that important to be mentioned in this section. Every time I edit something you revert even worse than before and you damage what is written. We all are here for good, and to improve an article not to damage it. By every revert you do, some useful information is destroyed and I, again, have to go back and put all these pieces together. Then you revert it again! But based on what exactly you do this?! Could you please explain what is exactly behind your decision? Only because you have created the article you do this or what exactly? All these nominations and awards are important to the movie. About those were nominated and won at the end the award, I only put the Award and not the nominations. But those that were nominated should be written because nomination is as important as the award. Please let me know why you revert my edits? Best regards, Sc wikinevis (talk) 13:27, 20 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi. If an award/festival doesn't (currently) have its own article, then it's deemed not to be notable. Please have a read of Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Film#Accolades for more. Please do not re-add non-notable awards. I've given you a couple of pointers on your talkpage, but you blanked it for some reason. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:33, 20 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi. @Jay D. Easy: do you have an example? Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 19:33, 24 June 2019 (UTC)
Sure! I first noticed it upon looking at the source of These Final Hours. Here's the diff from when you created the article back in April 2014. This is the diff from when you created Cross-country skiing at the 1964 Winter Olympics – Men's 15 kilometre a few days ago, on 18 June.
In case of the latter, using {{DEFAULTSORT:Cross-Country Skiing At The 1964 Winter Olympics - Men's 15 kilometres}} is not necessary, because the article would still be sorted exactly the same if the defsort were omitted. Take care! Jay D. Easy (t • c) 19:45, 24 June 2019 (UTC)

This is actually unadvisable because of the article's presence in Category:Australian drama films and Category:Australian thriller films, both of which are already sub-categories within Category:Australian films.

It is best explained by WP:FILMSUBCAT as well as the two sections below it:

In general, articles and categories should be placed in the most specific applicable categories, and should not be placed directly in a "parent" category if they are already present in one of its sub-categories. For example, if an article is placed in Category:Comedy horror films, there is no need to place it in Category:Comedy films or Category:Horror films.

As such, I hope you don't mind my revert. Take care! [[User:|Jay D. Easy]] (t • c) 12:25, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

@Jay D. Easy: Per Category:Australian films - "For convenience, all Australian films should be included in this category. This includes all films that can also be found in the subcategories." For all films, they have the top-level country category. This has been the standard agreed at the Film Project for many years. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:28, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
Well golly, you're entirely right. Today is the today I learned about WP:DUPCAT. It may be a good idea to refer to it in WP:FILMCAT. In any case, I apologize for the hassle. Take care! Jay D. Easy (t • c) 12:38, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
No problem! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:41, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for the anti-vandalisn efforts on that page. How about this? You and Duncan Hill do the reverting while I do the warning. TitanSymphony (talk) 11:28, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for your help too! Looks like it's sorted for now, with the page protection just being added. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:29, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
Good. TitanSymphony (talk) 11:30, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

Question: what tool do you use to revert vandalism and disruption? I've seen that you have the ability to revert multiple edits by multiple users in one go. At first I thought it was Twinkle, but I don't see the "TW" anywhere in the edit summary. So what DO you use? TitanSymphony (talk) 11:39, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

@TitanSymphony: I don't use any tools (automation free!) For reverting multiple edits in one go, I look at the page history of the article, click the date/time link of the last "good version", edit from that version, and save. For example, on this article, if I went back to the 12:26, 27 June 2019 timestamp before to your name on the edit history, I'd click that link and edit/save. Hope that helps. Thank you, sounds very useful! I'll have to try that some day, you know. TitanSymphony (talk) 11:53, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
No problem. Give it a try on your user or talkpage. Add a few edits of dross, and take it from there! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:55, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
Just seen your post at ANI. If you ever need an admin urgently, I'm around most days. Just check my user contribs to see whether or not I'm active and then ping me or post on my talk page. Mjroots (talk) 19:12, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
@Mjroots: - thank you. Hopefully that was just a one-off, with some crazy edits going on there. I've never seen anything that bad before! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 19:19, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

Christine Erkelens

I’m not sure what the poor woman has done but there were some nasty slurs there. Anyway, semi-protected for two weeks, everyone blocked, most edits revision deleted, and a one month school block placed. Busy. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 08:34, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

@Malcolmxl5: - thanks again for sorting out page protection. I had a quick search, but couldn't find any recent news to indicate a sudden spike of interest in her. Thanks again. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:36, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

Short description

You are adding short description manually. But it's much easier by enabling the gadget at the "Editing" section of Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets. Thanks. ~SS49~ {talk} 10:13, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

Thanks - I'll take a look. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:53, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
Hmmm, not the best result. And importing it directly from Wikidata must be a WP:UGC concern. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:58, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
Edit and import option is better. ~SS49~ {talk} 11:05, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
Thanks - I'll give that a test and see what happens. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:11, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
