Acronyms

Thanks for your contributions. I see that you have created articles about Mexican politicians such as Julio César Aguirre Méndez and Ángel Alonso Díaz Caneja. In the articles you put their political party as an acronym such as PRD or PAN. These acronyms are not obvious to the everyday reader, so I spelled them out. Could you please write the full name of all non-obvious acronyms in the future? Thanks Piguy101 (talk) 00:21, 12 April 2014 (UTC)

Asteroids

I've already said it twice; I'll say it one more time before I'll take action. Please stop creating/unredirecting stubs on non-notable minor planets. Read the WP:NASTRO policy fully, specifically the section on minor planets, before undertaking any more actions on stubs that quite obviously fail the policy. Largest election in human history

Hi. Considering your past contributions on politician-related articles, I'd like to know if you'd be interested in contributing to articles related to the Indian general election, 2014? There is a discussion at Talk:Indian_general_election,_2014#Ready for the Results!!, and I created Wikipedia:Indian general election, 2014 progress report to be able to keep track of which related articles need updating once the results are out. Thanks, --Soman (talk) 16:48, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages

Thank you for your recent articles, including Romuald Jankowski, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as this, this, this and this. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 22:10, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

Catfish articles

I have read with interest your latest articles about the members of the genus Astroblepus. It's nice to see you working on these kind of articles, since I have a slight interest in fish also (most of the ones I've worked on have been sculpins).

If you're feeling open to suggestions, I have a few as to how you could improve your articles. First, adding {{italic title}} to the top of the page will make it appear italicized like species names commonly are. Second, could you also italicize the name in the infobox? And third, (this is more of just a nitpicky thing), I think the word "in" would be more appropriate than "on" in a sentence like this: "It can be found on Colombia."

Thanks for reading, and keep up the good work! G S Palmer (talkcontribs) 00:47, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

"Democrat politician"

Please don't use the term "democrat" as an adjective. In the United States, doing so intentionally is sometimes considered trolling, as it annoys members of the Democratic Party. See Democrat Party (epithet) for a history. The proper, grammatically-correct phrase is "Democratic politician", "member of the Democratic Party", or simply "Democrat". I realize that you don't mean anything. This is merely to inform you that it can be misconstrued as a sly insult. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 03:47, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Júnior Padilla

The article Júnior Padilla has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sir Sputnik (talk) 17:16, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on José Luis Medina Lizalde requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Problem with your articles about Mexican legislators

Hi Lgcsmasamiya, thanks for your efforts to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Mexican politicians! I see that you are essentially using a template to create many similar articles (e.g. Apolonio Méndez Meneses). I'm not sure how many of these you have created yet, but it looks like a lot.... Unfortunately, I see a couple of problems with these articles. First, "a Mexican politician affiliated to the National Action Party" is not really good English -- it should be something along the lines of "a Mexican politician who belongs to the National Action Party". Second, "As of 2014 he served as Deputy of the LX Legislature of the Mexican Congress representing Puebla" does not make sense. Since the LX Legislature ran from 2006 to 2009, this statement cannot be "as of 2014". It would make more sense to say something like, "From 2006 to 2009, he served as Deputy of the LX Legislature of the Mexican Congress representing Puebla." Could you change your template to solve these issues, and make these changes to the articles you have already created? Let me know if it is easier to communicate in Spanish about this, and I can do my best to write in Spanish instead. :) Thanks, Calliopejen1 (talk) 21:25, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of Mexican films of 2014 may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 2015 in Canada, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: 2014 in Canada. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 15:16, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on DJ Secuaz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.

Block notice

Stop icon
As you know, in the past there was considerable concern about your activities at new page patrolling, with problems being subject to discussion more than once at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents, as well as on this page. You were made subject to a ban on all page patrolling, but you failed to abide by the ban. Because of the problems, you were blocked 4 times, starting in March 2013, and continuing until you were indefinitely blocked in January 2014. I lifted the block in April 2014, and made it explicit that I was doing so on the condition that you abide by the ban. I was therefore interested when I discovered today that you had recently been patrolling new pages. I decided to check the history, expecting to find when the ban was lifted, and hoping to confirm that since it was lifted you had been avoiding the problems that led to the ban in the first place. I was alarmed to discover the following facts.
  1. You returned to new page patrolling a little over three months since I lifted the block subject to your abiding by the ban.
  2. The block had not at that time been lifted, nor has it been lifted since. It is still listed at Wikipedia:Editing restrictions, and I can find no record in the history of your talk page of your having been told it was lifted.
  3. You are still exhibiting the same problems that were causes for concern in the past, including marking as reviewed articles with misformatted references, articles without references to reliable sources, articles with references to Wikipedia, articles with no evidence of notability, articles with references which do not confirm any significant part of the article content, and other problems. In a large sample of articles you have reviewed I have not found a single example of your correcting problems, nor even adding tags about problems, even when problems were so blatant that a few seconds looking at the article was enough to make them evident.
  4. You have frequently been patrolling new articles at a rate of several per minute, meaning that you cannot possibly have been reviewing them in any meaningful sense. (This is one of the many problems that were commented on in the past. It was mentioned several times, including at least as far back as July 2013, when Qwyrxian told you "you must stop causing lots of extra work for other people by marking things as reviewed without actually reviewing them".)
You were told on February 2014 by the administrator Kudpung that if you were unblocked, the unblock "would be a very last chance and that one single violation would result in immediate blocking again with your talk page access being withdrawn. Your only appeal for an unblock then would be to the Arbitration Committee." In my unblock notice I explicitly stated that the unblock was based on your accepting that statement by Kudpung. It is most unfortunate that for 10 months apparently nobody noticed that you were violating your topic ban and the terms of your unblock, but it is now clear that you have no intention of abiding by the topic ban, and, more importantly, that you are not going to stop the same problems that led to the ban being imposed. I have therefore reimposed the block that I lifted. Since the unblocking was stated to be conditional on your accepting Kudpung's statement which I quoted above, I have also removed your talk page access.
