D.P.public school prayagraj
Sir
I want to tell you I am editing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D._P._Public_School_Prayagraj this page by gathering sources from many people and places it will take time so, please don't interrupt in this and remove the things you have done in it
Thank you Avenger1407 Avenger1407 (talk) 19:08, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Avenger1407, if the article is not ready for the main space it should be worked on as a draft until ready. As it stands, the article is a mess and not suitable to remain without significant improvements. You were notified on your talk page that your first iteration was moved to the draft space and can be found at Draft:D. P. Public School Prayagraj. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:11, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
Hello Josh! I would like to discuss with you on a grammatical issue as well as request a third opinion.
Im Robert, by the way! Me and my two friends just started editing Wikipedia. The other two have tried to correct a grammatical error in an article, but it has been reverted. For context, the term "methamphetamine" has been officially changed to "memphatamatine". My other colleagues may have been more informal, but I have done more research for the best approach to this kind of situation. It seems like we and you have encountered a content dispute; I think it is important to request a third opinion so we can see what the best approach should be here, and if we should stick with the old, more known term or not. Thanks for understanding, Josh!
Sincerely, F15Dude (talk) 11:22, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
Response to third opinion request: What Actualcpscm said,[1], please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. |

Deletion of Artical
Hello Josh. Due to some actions of yours, an article I published has been deleted. Is there a reason why you believe it needed to be removed? Dead history (talk) 16:19, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hello @Dead history. There was a notification left on your talk page regarding the nomination that I made. All nominations are reviewed by an admin who makes the decision on whether to remove the nomination or to delete the nominated page. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:22, 14 November 2022 (UTC)

Questionable redirect?
Re Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Redirects and categories#Redirect request: Janis Menken, Anna Menken, Nora Menken, I'm inclined to agree with EchidnaLives's comment, though at least they are family, so there isn't really any other target. — Qwerfjkltalk 20:21, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @Qwerfjkl, I figured the same as the latter part of your comment, that there likely isn't really another target for them at this point in time. One of those "ehhh... I guess" kind of redirects where I just said screw it and accepted it since I didn't see a reason to decline it. I'm open to A7 CSD tagging them if you'd like though. Hey man im josh (talk) 20:36, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- Eh... WP:CHEAP. It might be worth noting this when you accept the request, though. — Qwerfjkltalk 20:37, 18 November 2022 (UTC)

Wikispecies redirs
Yay! I made it to the end of the alphabet! :D But those were the easy ones. I still have a bunch of redlinks I have to now investigate at Wikispecies with more intelligence to see if they exist there. As always, thanks for hitting (the bulk of) those reviews! - UtherSRG (talk) 20:00, 14 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @UtherSRG, sorry for the late reply, I was away on a business trip. It's no problem at all, I'm always happy to help :) Hey man im josh (talk) 18:29, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- I was wondering where you were, Josh! You hadn't tagged expiring drafts for a few days now and I thought you might be taking a WikiBreak. Unfortunately, I've been oversleeping lately and normally, you would have tagged expiring drafts for those hours I was asleep since you are up earlier than I am but they were still there when I logged on to Wikipedia. No problem, it actually looks like you are juggling quite a few projects these days and CSD tagging old draft pages is probably not high on your priority list compared with other assignments you are taking on.
- I hope you had a good time away. I wasn't sure in these post-pandemic times, whether people still took business trips! Liz Read! Talk! 20:32, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @Liz, it feels nice that my absence was noticed! It's not high priority work, you're right, but I still like to help out with tagging a few times a day at least and I'm back at it again now that I'm back home. It's funny, I'm juggling a few things but I'm actually looking for other tasks in new areas to help out out with.
- First time since restrictions have lifted that they've sent me away! More to come, but I just hope I get more free upgrades. Best part of my trip was getting to drive a 2022 Dodge Charger for a few days. Hey man im josh (talk) 20:46, 18 November 2022 (UTC)
- Heh! And now I'm on a little vacation as my sweetie is in town and I'm trying to spend as much time with her as possible. :) - UtherSRG (talk) 12:19, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
- Wonderful, I hope it's a great time for the both of you =) Hey man im josh (talk) 14:57, 19 November 2022 (UTC)

Redirect reviewing
You did a lot today. Recently, you and I have been doing the most redirects. I was wondering how you pick which ones to do. You seem to be doing a lot of semi-recent ones, and not the oldest from early October. I always go to the oldest, because they are slightly more important because they will eventually drop out of the queue. Right now, the drop point is six months, and we are under two months so there really isn't anything urgent. I just feel more comfortable when the end is getting farther from six months rather than closer. If there is some reason you prefer doing newer ones, that is certainly fine and it's great you do so many. But if you don't care, consider starting at the back. I recently finished Oct 1 & 2, but there are around 200 from Oct 3 and I am done for the day. MB 05:18, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @MB, thanks for reaching out.
- I do sometimes work from the back of queue, but I also like to look at the redirects of the people who have the most unreviewed redirects. I was away from reviewing for close to 5 days, so yesterday I mostly worked by filtering for reviewers who had 40+ unreviewed redirects remaining so that I could clear out a bigger chunk, as the queue had grown in my absence. It can be easier and more efficient sometimes to review all batches of redirects crated the same user, as there's usually a theme. I'm also looking to nominate more of these people for redirect autopatroll to help reduce the overall number of redirects needing review.
- Edit: I actually also find it annoying that I can't mark pages as patrolled with Capricorn if they're older than a certain age, but that's all the more reason to keep it under said age. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:42, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- I know what you mean. I do the same thing if I find someone who has created several, then I go find all their redirects. MB 13:52, 22 November 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for adding rcatshell to all of the redirects I created, usually the script does it but I guess it didn't with those... echidnaLives - talk - edits 21:36, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @EchidnaLives, no problem. They really aren't a mandatory thing, but I figure when I'm patrolling redirects as part of WP:NPP that I might as well add the rcat shell. I use WP:Capricorn to mark the pages as approved and add the rcat shell with at the same time instead of it being two separate actions, which is I figure, why not? Hi Josh, thanks for the message. I dont have any articles to link to for the update as they have no publicity surrounding their relationship with regards to newspapers etc. Nikki has appeared numerous times on Brians youtube channel, there's also plenty of pictures, but i cannot see a way to add that. They've been in a relationship for a fair while now and i feel that the wikipedia page should show this. Supergirlsu (talk) 13:40, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hi @Supergirlsu, unfortunately, this is likely considered WP:GOSSIP. Information that isn't verifiable should not be added to the page. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:41, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- It's not gossip. I'm a friend of both Brian and Nikkis. So i know 100% this is very much the truth. Supergirlsu (talk) 13:45, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- What you're suggesting constitutes original research, which is not verifiable. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:48, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- I have a youtube video link where at the beginning B confirms him and Nikki are in a relationship. Would this be acceptable? Supergirlsu (talk) 13:47, 24 November 2022 (UTC)

- Find something outside of social media to add as a source. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:55, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- But it's Brian HIMSELF confirming it! You can see his face on the screen and hear his voice? What is more reliable that the man himself saying 'Yes we are in a relationship'. And trying to suggest an article from the likes of the Sun newspaper is more reliable than the man himself, speaking, on a youtube video is laughable Supergirlsu (talk) 13:57, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- Would you reference a YouTube video for a class assignment? References are not typically in the form of video. If the relationship is notable it will have been reported on. If it hasn't been it's likely not notable. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:59, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- Have you seen Brian in any newspaper lately? I also wouldn't cite a red top in an assignment either but this isn't a class assignment. This is updating a page on a person i happen to know. With factual information backed up with a video by the man himself. This is ridiculous. So you want me to try and set up a newspaper article, just so that this can now be added to his page? Supergirlsu (talk) 14:03, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- So, what I'm hearing, is that this relationship is not notable enough to be included in the article. Not everybody's girlfriend or boyfriend needs to be mentioned. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:06, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- Urm no what the truth is, that B has been out of the public eye for a number of years now due to various personal reasons. I don't understand what your issue is with this addition tbh Supergirlsu (talk) 14:07, 24 November 2022 (UTC)

- Thanks @Liz, I went 5 years too far back when mass creating some categories. I G7 tagged all of them to speed things up. They were also the only category in a parent category, so I ended up tagging an addition 5 categories with C1 and G7 since those became empty after these were deleted. New Page Patrol newsletter October 2022
Hello Hey man im josh,
Much has happened since the last newsletter over two months ago. The open letter finished with 444 signatures. The letter was sent to several dozen people at the WMF, and we have heard that it is being discussed but there has been no official reply. A related article appears in the current issue of The Signpost. If you haven't seen it, you should, including the readers' comment section.
Awards: Barnstars were given for the past several years (thanks to MPGuy2824), and we are now all caught up. The 2021 cup went to John B123 for leading with 26,525 article reviews during 2021. To encourage moderate activity, a new "Iron" level barnstar is awarded annually for reviewing 360 articles ("one-a-day"), and 100 reviews earns the "Standard" NPP barnstar. About 90 reviewers received barnstars for each of the years 2018 to 2021 (including the new awards that were given retroactively). All awards issued for every year are listed on the Awards page. Check out the new Hall of Fame also.
Software news: Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have connected with WMF developers who can review and approve patches, so they have been able to fix some bugs, and make other improvements to the Page Curation software. You can see everything that has been fixed recently here. The reviewer report has also been improved.
Suggestions:
- There is much enthusiasm over the low backlog, but remember that the "quality and depth of patrolling are more important than speed".
- Reminder: an article should not be tagged for any kind of deletion for a minimum of 15 minutes after creation and it is often appropriate to wait an hour or more. (from the NPP tutorial)
- Reviewers should focus their effort where it can do the most good, reviewing articles. Other clean-up tasks that don't require advanced permissions can be left to other editors that routinely improve articles in these ways (creating Talk Pages, specifying projects and ratings, adding categories, etc.) Let's rely on others when it makes the most sense. On the other hand, if you enjoy doing these tasks while reviewing and it keeps you engaged with NPP (or are guiding a newcomer), then by all means continue.
- This user script puts a link to the feed in your top toolbar.
Backlog:
Saving the best for last: From a July low of 8,500, the backlog climbed back to 11,000 in August and then reversed in September dropping to below 6,000 and continued falling with the October backlog drive to under 1,000, a level not seen in over four years. Keep in mind that there are 2,000 new articles every week, so the number of reviews is far higher than the backlog reduction. To keep the backlog under a thousand, we have to keep reviewing at about half the recent rate!
- Reminders
- Newsletter feedback - please take this short poll about the newsletter.
- If you're interested in instant messaging and chat rooms, please join us on the New Page Patrol Discord, where you can ask for help and live chat with other patrollers.
- Please add the project discussion page to your watchlist.
- If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be a reviewer, please ask any admin to remove you from the group. If you want the tools back again, just ask at PERM.
- To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
Kobad Gandy Edit

Administrators' newsletter – December 2022
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2022).
- Consensus has been found in an RfC to automatically place RfAs on hold after one week.
- The article creation at scale RfC has been closed.
- An RfC on the banners for the December 2022 fundraising campaign has been closed.
- A new preference named "Enable limited width mode" has been added to the Vector 2022 skin. The preference is also shown as a toggle on every page if your monitor is 1600 pixels or wider. When disabled it removes the whitespace added by Vector 2022 on the left and right of the page content. Disabling this preference has the same effect as enabling the wide-vector-2022 gadget. (T319449)
- Eligible users are invited to vote on candidates for the Arbitration Committee until 23:59 December 12, 2022 (UTC). Candidate statements can be seen here.
- The proposed decision for the 2021-22 review of the discretionary sanctions system is open.
- The arbitration case Reversal and reinstatement of Athaenara's block has been closed.
- The arbitration case Stephen has been opened and the proposed decision is expected 1 December 2022.
- A motion has modified the procedures for contacting an admin facing Level 2 desysop.
- Tech tip: A single IPv6 connection usually has access to a "subnet" of 18 quintillion IPs. Add
/64
to the end of an IP in Special:Contributions to see all of a subnet's edits, and consider blocking the whole subnet rather than an IP that may change within a minute.

Amdoor
Hey man you’re Josh! Always a pleasure seeing your edits. I put up Amdoor, an article created by the same person as Marrigunta, for an AfD because it doesn’t meet, in my eyes, notability criteria and has a similar reference issue. It was pointed out that at the now corrected lat & long point to a place of some variety with the name Amdoor so potentially WP:GEOA but that seems very tenuous to me. Do you think draftifying it might be a better idea? It’s not something I immediately think of since I don’t have the user right but I was wondering if this might be a good candidate as a middle of the road option if real work can be done. If you have any other suggestion I’m not thinking of after a long day, please let me know! Thanks, Kazamzam (talk) 03:28, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
- At this point we should let it play out instead of cancelling the AfD and choosing to draftify it. This one I could lean either way on draftifying, had I had been the first to find it. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:10, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
Given the IPv6 prefix, it looks like User:2a01:4c8:49:57f7:a416:a3ce:1dd7:84a5 and User:2a01:4c8:49:57f7:acd1:4835:9352:77e5 are the same user, editing the same article - violating WP:WAR, likely needs more than a gently nudge. ~ Chip🐺 16:16, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
- You're probably right, but they haven't actually violated the WP:3RR yet. It may make sense to issue them an edit warring warning if they make a fourth edit on the subject. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:22, 5 December 2022 (UTC)

Copi_(Asian_carp) entry submission
Hi hey man im josh: In regards to the redirect of the Copi (Asian carp) submission to the Asian carp#Copi renaming page. First, thank you for taking the time to review it. Much appreciated. Next: The are a couple of reasons why Copi should be its own entry. “Asian carp” is in fact only a slang name – it is not a formal name for the species. The name “Copi” has been adopted by ecologists and governmental agencies like the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), Fish and Wildlife Departments, the media (both in the U.S. and internationally), and the American restaurant and grocery store industry as the formal name of this species of carp. See the references and links in the draft entry. There are many examples on Wikipedia of similar food and fish renaming. For example, Orange Roughy, is its own unique entry because that is how the fish is now widely known, but before the name Orange Roughy it used to be called Slimehead. Other foods such as Avocado or Chilean Sea Bass, for instance, also have their own unique entry even though these names came to be only after being renamed (they used to go by other names). With that in mind, I wanted to see if you would reconsider Copi as its own entry, especially in consideration that in the coming years Copi will become a widely used and known term in the culture (on restaurant menus, in grocery stores, etc.), nationally and also in Canada and Europe and at some point someone will no doubt submit Copi again. Let me know, and thank you for your time and consideration! - Chris Leighcn (talk) 20:18, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Peighcn:, I'm not the one who changed your article to a redirect. I simply marked the page as "patrolled" as part of the new page patrol process. My role was simply reviewing whether the redirect target was valid, which it is. I have had no part in determining whether the page should be a redirect or an article. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:40, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
No, that's the wrong way
WP:NAME clearly states you should use the minimum clearly identifying title for articles, see WP:CONCISE and MOS:PRECISION. When more precision is needed, which it isn't in this case as it is two versions of the same program, only commas and parens are to be used except under unusual circumstances. The older article used a compound name that clearly violates these principles, and should have been addressed some time ago. Your recent edit RVed a GF edit to point to the incorrect NAME. Please undo the changes made to 1st Word. Thank you. 108.168.93.43 (talk) 15:48, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
- So work on the "older" article and request that it be moved to the appropriate space instead of changing the page to a redirect. It's fine that you want to change the name of a page, but the page history is important to preserve. Hey man im josh (talk) 15:56, 5 December 2022 (UTC)

More contribution
Hi josh,
I went through your profile and was impressed with the contribution you have made to Wikipedia family, even though u only started your account two years back.
I also want to contribute more but I am not familiar with the process, I just randomly find pages and do changes which I think can improve user experience, but that is a very slow process.
could you please help me out by give me some pointers on how to be more efficient with the work.
Thank,
Bace Word. Bace word (talk) 16:16, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @Bace word, thank you for the kind words.
- Find an area you're interested in and start from there. For me, it was my interest in the National Football League and topics related to the associated WikiProject that started me out. Eventually I found tools that made life easier for me and those helped me to contribute more efficiently and easily. I later branched out from there, often with these same tools. Ask questions at the WP:HELPDESK, don't be afraid of making mistakes (just don't keep making the same ones), be bold, and try not to get discouraged if you face push back. It has to start somewhere, and you'll slowly find tasks that interest you. Anybody who cares about the project understands that we all make mistakes, and that's ok. Just be receptive and keep at it! Hey man im josh (talk) 16:31, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thank @Hey man im josh,
- I will keep those advise in mind as I start my journey & for Wikiproject I was not aware about this, from now I will try to explore this more.
- can u also tell me little bit more about the tools u mentioned which made your contribution more efficient and easier. Bace word (talk) 16:40, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- Check out the gadgets that are listed under preferences. There are also other programs that exist once you get more comfortable, such as WP:HUGGLE which I use quite a bit to fight vandalism.
- What are your editing interests? There may be relevant WikiProjects that you could participate in. Some of them have to do lists that members can work on. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:43, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks @Hey man im josh very much for helping with the problems. Bace word (talk) 16:46, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
I know I'm fighting deletion of content and addition of unsourced material, so I believe I'm good from an edit warring perspective, but could you also keep an eye on the same article like you did earlier? In the meantime I've requested semi-protection at WP:RPP. Thanks in advance. 10mmsocket (talk) 18:24, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @10mmsocket, I understand your stance, and I used to think the exact same way, but that's not exactly how edit warring works. I'm going to point to the first paragraph in the lead of WP:Edit warring, where it states,
"My edits were right, so it wasn't edit warring" is not a valid defense
. It was one of the toughest things for me to come to terms with on Wikipedia, the fact that I can be correct and still be considered edit warring. There are exceptions to the rule which can be found at WP:NOT3RR, but in this case it's not obvious vandalism and it doesn't appear to be a violation of the BLP policy. It's a dispute in which some users were adding unsourced information and you were restoring the sourced information, which makes sense to revert. - It looks like the issue should be resolved now though, as Jayron32 added the content back with a source (unlike the other users you reverted). Your intentions are good, but in the future you should be careful about this for the reasons mentioned above. I'd hate to see an editor with good intentions get bit. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:51, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks. 10mmsocket (talk) 18:56, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

Why would you try and delete my page ? Sjohn223 (talk) 08:36, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

The Apollo Stars
Hi, hey man you're Josh. You may have seen that Cyrius declined your speedy deletion nomination of The Apollo Stars with the rather interesting (in my opinion) edit summary "A jazz fusion band whose work was produced by L. Ron Hubbard is weird enough to discuss before deletion." My own feeling, if it's of any interest to you, is that Cyrius is right to decline the speedy nomination, as there is enough suggestion of significance to invalidate an A7 nomination, but I'm not at all sure whether it satisfies the notability guidelines. I'm sort of leaning towards saying that it doesn't, but I haven't made thorough searches for evidence of notability, so I wouldn't like to call the likely outcome of a discussion at WP:AfD if you choose take it there. JBW (talk) 22:02, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @JBW, thanks for reaching out and for the constructive feedback! It's fair to air on the non-deletion side and encourage a discussion, I have no ill will about it and understand the decision. I don't want to create more work for admins, but I will occasionally tag an article when I believe it's borderline. I review my CSD log regularly, so I always check the page history of the pages that were not deleted to see the admin explanation. Most admins will explain why they removed the tag which helps me learn and become better at tagging. My success rate has gotten pretty good but I still have the occasional miss unfortunately.
- I appreciate you sharing your opinion on the notability, it helps me feel better that I wasn't off base questioning its notability. I'm not going to go to AfD just yet, I'll leave it in the new page queue for a few days in case another new page reviewer sees something I don't. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:23, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
- Tagging an article which you feel is borderline makes perfect sense, because you are effectively asking for a second opinion, and for an administrator to check the article in order to provide that second opinion is a constructive use of their time. Much less helpful is tagging articles which are nowhere near the borderline, which some editors do frequently. That is just a waste of administrators' time, but you are certainly not one of the editors who do that. JBW (talk) 14:39, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you, that's how I've hoped it's come across when I've been tagging things. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:43, 15 December 2022 (UTC)

Brian Harvey
Hi Josh,
So i followed your previous advice and linked a Daily Mail article which states Brian's current relationship status, and this is still being removed. I am at a loss as to what i am supposed to do. The link after details of his marriage is from a local newspaper (liverpool echo) surely an article from national newspaper the Daily Mail is allowed as a reference if a local newspaper article is. Can you please advise.
Thanks

- Hey @Supergirlsu. Sorry for the delay, I don't usually edit during weekends. For quicker replies you're encouraged to ask questions at WP:HELPDESK.
- As for your question, the user who reverted your edit stated "rm non-RS", which means "removed non-reliable source". There's a higher standard for articles that are based on living people (see WP:BLP), and unfortunately Daily Mail is considered an unreliable source that shouldn't be used (see WP:DAILYMAIL). For a list of reliable sources you're encouraged to look at WP:RSPSOURCES. If you add the information back from a source that's considered generally reliable then there the person's previous rationale (of a non-reliable source) no longer applies. Good afternoon!! Sorry to bother you, just a random question; in an edit summary, how do you include wikilinks? I've tried a few times, and it just shows up the same way I type it. Hi, I saw you reviewed the article Noizbloc which is created by me. But I couldn’t able to see what the review decision is. Also Can you please remove the AfD tag on the article?. Thank you! CameronAćosta (talk) 14:57, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hello @CameronAćosta. There is no decision for you to review. I marked the page as "reviewed" because standard procedure for WP:NPP is to mark articles that are sent to AfD as "reviewed". As for removing the tag, that's a hard no, as the tag is mean to remain on the page until the AfD discussion has been closed after 7 by an impartial third party. Hey man im josh (talk) 15:03, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- I took a look at it and looked for sources and found 0 useful sources so the subject is most definitely not notable and was rightfully sent to AFD. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:04, 20 December 2022 (UTC)

The U.S. vote
Hi Josh
Please, by no means think that I was upset with a vote being proposed. It's just I thought with SCB, Bagumba and myself doing hundreds of these over the last few days .. maybe it was a done deal. I would have stayed away if I knew. My way of thinking is that some sort of rule would have been implemented, we could place U.S. by a player and only the chosen few NFL TEAM OWNERS could remove what they don't like. Rules don't apply to some people.
Again this is not personal, I just hate to go round and round. Know what I mean? Bringingthewood (talk) 22:19, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hey @Bringingthewood, I understand where you're coming from. That's why I wanted to make sure that we achieved consensus and tried to formalize the layout so that we didn't run into this exact same problem down the road. If we don't talk it out at some point, then some people will add it while others take it out. Nobody is in the wrong in this situation because we don't have a MOS on whether it should be included or not. It sucks to have felt like you wasted time and I don't want to go round and round either. This vote should hopefully iron things out once and for all so that we don't end up going round and round on the issue. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:47, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you! I do appreciate everything you said and it's understood. My wasting time is nothing, I always feel guilty regarding easy edits. If it ends up being a good thing that would be fantastic. If you didn't ping me ... I may have went on to cause hundreds of wasted edits, lol.
- We'll see how it goes.
- And as always, thanks for all that you did and continue to do.
- Have a happy holiday Bringingthewood (talk) 02:31, 22 December 2022 (UTC)

Joseph Biederman Wiki
I added new information to the Joseph Biederman Wiki but you deleted it as a disruptive edit. I don't understand why more info about Joseph Biederman cannot be added to the Wiki. Please clarify. StephenFaraone (talk) 12:06, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) StephenFaraone, your recent edits to Joseph Biederman included a massive list of the subject's awards and honours. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of trivia, nor is it the right place to post a subject's resume or CV. Editors like Hey man im josh and me will remove that kind of text from articles. It would be disruptive to continually add it—so please don't do that. Thanks, /wiae /tlk 14:58, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying to this for me, I appreciate your answer. I forgot to do so earlier after fixing something on the talk page. Hey man im josh (talk) 14:59, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
- Why are other wikis allowed to add extensive information, for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Lander or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Kandel StephenFaraone (talk) 16:07, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
- See WP:WHATABOUT. Just because it exists on another article does not mean that it should be there. If you'd like advice on how to properly structure information, and whether it's relevant to add, I do recommend asking at WP:TEAHOUSE. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:10, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

Page review
Hey man I am Abyan, Thank you for your review on Dameer Khan but unfortunately its been nominated for deletion. Abyan Malek (talk) 16:02, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Abyan Malek. In this case, marking the page as reviewed was purely procedural. Any page nominated for deletion at AfD is supposed to be marked as reviewed. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:03, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
- Oh ok, I understand Abyan Malek (talk) 16:06, 12 January 2023 (UTC)
I got a notification but I'm not sure what it means
I got a system notification from you saying "The page Griffpatch has been reviewed" does this mean the deletion process is over? I'm not quite sure what it means. Utter Donkey (talk) 22:40, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Utter Donkey, I understand how you may have reached this conclusion. As part of the New Page Patrol process, we mark pages as "reviewed" when they've been nominated for deletion (sent to AfD, not PROD or CSD tagged). One of the main points of reviewing pages is to review whether the page is based on a notable topic. If the subject is believed to be notable, then we mark it as reviewed. The thinking is that the deletion process will determine whether the page meets Wikipedia notability requirements, so it's no longer up to the NPP, so we then mark the page as reviewed.
- In short, it's procedural and the deletion process is not over in this case. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:48, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
- okay, thank you Utter Donkey (talk) 12:59, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
- Just wondering, if the subject of the article has been found valid, does that still make the subject not being notable a valid argument for deletion? Utter Donkey (talk) 17:22, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

RE: Draft:Council for Foreign and Defense Policy
Can you help with Draft:Council for Foreign and Defense Policy which you moved into draft? Metro2fsb (talk) 04:26, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Metro2fsb, I'm sorry, but the article is based on a subject matter that doesn't interest me. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:49, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
Yet you put it in draft space which means it could be deleted
Anyone else watching Josh page wanna help ? Metro2fsb (talk) 13:03, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Metro2fsb, technically any page can be deleted, even those in the article space. The only addition deletion criteria that applies to articles in the draft space is that if the draft goes unedited for 6 months then it may be deleted. If you were to have that happen and you wanted to resume your work on the draft, you'd be able to request a routine undeletion at WP:UNDELETE. Per WP:DRAFTOBJECT, there's nothing stopping you from moving the page back to article space if you believe it's suitable to remain there. However I do think you should expand it further. WP:AFC is an optional process, but if you submit your draft there are users that will recommend ways to improve your article if they deem it not ready for main space. Bakhmut etymology
I've tried to rewrite the section as you advised, but it was immediately retracted. Namuntlha (talk) 19:46, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- This sounds like a discussion that should be had with that user, as I was opposed to completely blanking a sourced section. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:54, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
- I would like you to fix this. The etymology should be based on sources from authoritative linguists, not on a news page that doesn't cite sources for what's currently listed in the section, but cites further unprofessional speculation with Indo-European roots. David Horovitz/Horowitz/Horvitz/Horwitz
I see you changed David Horovitz (journalist) back to David Horovitz. I changed it after seeing "For other people named David Horowitz, see David Horowitz (disambiguation)." and starting to edit the disambiguation page to mention the TOI, not noticing the different spellings. Perhaps the wording should be changed or his name deleted from there. If not deleted perhaps David Horvitz should be added. I notice there's also David Horwitz. Mcljlm (talk) 13:38, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Mcljlm, it's not clear to me why the "For other people named David Horowitz" appears at the top of the Horovitz article. I agree with you, it may be better to list it as "Not to be confused with David Horowitz (disambiguation)". I removed his name off the disambiguation page and changed that at the top of the David Horovitz article. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:46, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
Mike Clare
Hi Josh Why have you redirected this page? Clarenco1 (talk) 13:17, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @Clarenco1. You removed the redirect from Mike Clare and replaced it with just "Mike Clare". That would not be suitable to remain as a page on it's own, so I restored the previous redirect. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:20, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- I am trying to reestablish the original Mike Clare page - sorry just learning Wiki.
- Any ideas how i revert to the original page? Clarenco1 (talk) 13:22, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- Are you talking about this version of the page? Their article was redirected because someone believed that the person was not notable outside of their association with the company. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:24, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Josh
- Mike has done a lot more than just Dreams Beds. That was what was on the original page. Amazing Venues, Clarenco, Clare Foundation Charity etc. I am trying to restore it Clarenco1 (talk) 13:27, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- May I suggest an alternative? You could also work on the page in a draft until you've updated it to a point that you believe it to be ready for the main space. If you're willing to do that, I recommend starting a draft at WP:AFC, and I can help you out by copying over the old content that you want to work on? Hey man im josh (talk) 13:32, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- That sounds Great Josh - thank for your help.
- Sorry to sound dumb, but this is day1 on Wiki - how do i set up new page? Clarenco1 (talk) 13:35, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- Check out WP:AFC, it will guide you through the process. I'm not always active, so if you do have questions beyond this Mike Clare issue, I encourage you to ask at WP:HelpDesk, where there are far more knowledgeable individuals than myself. They'll be able to get back to you in a timely manner so you're not kept waiting too long. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:38, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Josh
- I think I have done that - can you check?
- I have pasted some copy but ideally need the original page with photo etc reinstating - can you assist with this? Clarenco1 (talk) 13:56, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Clarenco1, I've fixed it so that it now includes the references from the page, and just the text. I'm not much of an article writer myself, so this is where you're on your own. Good luck! Hey man im josh (talk) 14:04, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

SSI Articles
All the Legislation listed in the Articles are from the Legislation.gov.uk website in order all the SSI For Scotland are listed at https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ssi stop added the template when the article says it is finished. Demonguy1990 (talk) 16:00, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Demonguy1990: Pages should include more than 1 source, especially in cases where the only source is a primary source. Just because you say an article is finished does not mean it cannot be improved upon. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:13, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Hey man im josh: what better source is there than the UK Government who run the legislation.gov.uk website Demonguy1990 (talk) 17:08, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Demonguy1990, no article should be based on a single source (many believe articles should have at least 3 sources). It's not a big deal to have the banner on the article stating the page relies on a single or a primary source, that's what those banners exist for. They're just meant to encourage others to add additional references. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:14, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
Regarding your edit summary
Don't start a discussion about content then remove the content you started a discussion about 2 minutes later. Let the discussion actually take place instead
. I suggest you look at WP:BRD. Sativa Inflorescence (talk) 16:20, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Sativa Inflorescence, I suggest you read the page more thoroughly if you want to point others toward it. I'd like to point you to the General overview section, under "When to use"
... when an editor's concerns are not addressed on the talk page after a reasonable amount of effort.
- The idea is to either start a talk page discussion, or be bold and make changes, not to do both. You started a talk page discussion and then removed the content 2 minutes later, giving no time whatsoever for anybody to chime in on the issue. It's fine to be bold, but it's silly to give no time whatsoever for others to provide input on the talk page discussion you started. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:32, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- Fair enough! I should've read more, LOL. I see your point, but here's how I see it: if every little change needs a lengthy discussion, then the article will never get to good article status. So for small changes, be bold. For big changes, talk first, and for medium changes do both. Be bold, but start a discussion as courtesy, even though nobody might object. I do see your point, I'll give the talk page more of a chance with these sources that aren't terrible, just being given a little undue weight IMO. Sativa Inflorescence (talk) 17:01, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
- I agree, not every little change needs discussions. By all means, please do feel free to be bold, I don't want you to see it as me trying to stop you from making bold changes. You're welcome to make changes without a talk page discussion, just maybe don't start a talk page discussion and then immediately make those changes lol. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:04, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

Asian Games redirects
Hi, I noticed you redirects some Asian Games redlinks (in sports of wrestling, Sailing and athletics) like this Athletics at the 1951 Asian Games – Men's 10,000 metres to the main article. since you are also an admin may I ask why you did that? I mean what does this add to wikipedia? they are mostly only linked to the main page. I'm asking because I want to know if there is a policy here to not having redlinks at all? even in this case I think it's better to unlink them rather than useless redirects. you may say it doesn't hurt but I think it does. because when they are redlinks people like me will always know that article doesn't exist and should be created (if the info is available someday, because unfortunately some old results are missing) for example look at this template, 1951 and 1954 links are not red but they are not created either. I'm not fluent in English but I hope I make my point clear. Thanks Sports2021 (talk) 00:07, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Sports2021: There is not a policy or consensus that I've seen that says it's inappropriate to redirect an event to a more general page. Personally I don't believe the redirects are useless because if someone is looking for that event information then they'll find a relevant summary of the event at the target. I feel confident in saying that there's easily tens of thousands of these types of redirect, if not hundreds of thousands, and I think they serve a purpose. If you have a set of pages that you're interested in working on where you'd like yourself to be page creator then I'd be more than happy to G6 delete them for you. Hey man im josh (talk) 00:35, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- See also Template:R from subtopic, it's a redirect category specifically made for situations like this. Hey man im josh (talk) 00:37, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your time. I didn't say that's against the rules. I was actually asking if having redlinks (and not redirecting them) is against rule. I think it's fair to say that everybody who looks for Athletics at the 1951 Asian Games – Men's 10,000 metres will automatically check Athletics at the 1951 Asian Games.
- Yes I know there are tons of those redirects and to be honest I was always disagreed with them, but they are mostly about future events, those pages will be created sooner or later. but when you do it for past events ... hmmm. unfortunately there is a chance they always remain a redirect. I absolutely don't care to be the page creator. I like them to remain redlinks mostly because that always reminds me and other wiki users that those pages should be created. let me tell you this way, I checked this page Sailing at the Asian Games and when I saw all previous games links are blue I got happy that someone had enough info to create them but then I realized they are just redirects. so I hope you accept this from me and delete them all. I hope I can create those pages someday soon though. Sports2021 (talk) 00:55, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- That's fair to disagree. How do you feel about pages in categories? When redirects are listed in categories they're listed in italics, which would make it obvious that the event title is currently a redirect. Hey man im josh (talk) 01:12, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- Yes they are shown in italic which is at least better and helps if I have to go that rout to see which pages are not really created. but again my main point is about pages like this
- Speaking of sailing, for example this page is only linked to this and this. nobody is going to click on that redirect from anywhere else and whoever does it won't like it when is redirected to the same page he was already reading. it will be useless for him. or check this what's the point of redirecting a page to the only page linked to it. that's why I called it useless. again I'm not fluent in English so I'm not sure if I'm making myself clear but I hope you get my point. Sports2021 (talk) 01:31, 14 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi again, you just stopped answering my messages. should I consider it as a "no"? I don't think I was asking too much. Sports2021 (talk) 23:03, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- You are not being ignored. I'm working on something to address the issue. As mentioned, if you'd like to work on the pages I'll go ahead and G7 them myself. Hey man im josh (talk) 15:26, 16 November 2023 (UTC)
- as I said before I don't want them to get deleted just to create them myself! who cares who is the page creator, (I don't care at least) I explained before why I think it's a bad idea, I want them to be deleted simply because I think those pages should stay red link if they are not created yet. now I noticed you did that to several other pages in other sports like Table tennis, Tennis, Soft tennis and Bowling too! now that's too much, I think I'm going to unlink them. it doesn't make sense to have a page like this where all "details" links are redirected back to the same page! Sports2021 (talk) 22:26, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Sports2021: I've actually asked someone to help me out with a script to semi automate the process. I believe the redirects are useful. but I also agree that circular redirects can be misleading. The goal of my request to them is to search for the specific template for summaries and check whether it is a redirect or not, and if so, comment out the summary. Hey man im josh (talk) 23:34, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
