How did you determine it is the same subject User:Robert McClenon? I see nothing in that entry about a school or community center. Or a non-Cherokee community. FloridaArmy (talk) 22:12, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
- User:FloridaArmy - The lede sentence says:
Too-Cowee (sometimes Cowee) (also Stecoah), was an important historic Cherokee town located near the Little Tennessee River north of present-day Franklin, North Carolina.
. Both the draft and the article are about places with a Cherokee history. The school and the community center, and the modern community, can be included in the existing article. If you think that a separate article is in order, I would suggest discussing it at the parent article talk page, Talk:Too-Cowee. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:19, 16 August 2024 (UTC)- User:Robert McClenon you are asserting they are the same place and rejected the entry on that basis. Google Maps shows them 40 minutes apart, and as I pointed out I'm not finding overlap in the content of the entries. Maybe you should initiate a discussion to find out if they are the same place or share a name (one of several in the case of the former Indian encampment). - Thank you for reviewing User:Theroadislong. I am seeing very substantial coverage in the sources including of the principal and his work at the school and I see and entire book from Cornell University on one of the school's programs. I wonder if you'd reconsider? The entry needs expansion but its notability is clearly established. Black high schools in the south are generally quote notable as it was a struggle to brong them into existence. FloridaArmy (talk) 12:06, 16 August 2024 (UTC)

Draft:Thomas J. Reynolds
Hey, I tried to strike off another missing senator from African-American officeholders during and following the Reconstruction era for SC, see Draft:Thomas J. Reynolds. The newspapers are void of anything much with almost all of the very few references just being Reynolds of Beaufort or similar and nothing for their full name in any form I searched. If you can find anything to add that would be great. (I also had looked at Israel R. Bird but they are even more obscure and I'm giving up on that one). Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 19:06, 31 August 2024 (UTC)

I also found him noted involved in the later contested election of a Republican George Washington Murray in a dispute that went to congress over black votes not being counted and he appears to have been an active Republican for a long time and was an alternate delegate for the Republican National Convention. Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "FloridaArmy", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it implies shared use. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Dorsetonian (talk) 18:57, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- How does the name FloridaArmy imply shared use? FloridaArmy (talk) 19:00, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- It represents a group of people. WP:ISU states: "Usernames that are simply names of ... groups are not permitted". Dorsetonian (talk) 19:05, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- User:Dorsetonian what group of people does it represent? FloridaArmy (talk) 21:15, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Not sure why you need to ask but as Wiktionary makes clear, an army is both a formal and informal term for
a large group of people
. I don't know if your name is supposed to represent a formal military army (there is a Florida Army National Guard), an informal army of editors, some other group, or was just a name that seemed good when you registered - either way, it implies there's a group of you. Dorsetonian (talk) 07:19, 5 September 2024 (UTC)- An Army Ant is not a large group of people. And the etymology at the Wiktionary link you offer gives nuances to the meaning of the word army. You hven't identified any group you think my name represents other than the Florida National Guard, but I have never heard it referred to as the Florida Army, and I don't think that is a reasonable interpretation. There is even the phrase Army of one. Let's not manufacture problems where none exists. FloridaArmy (talk) 07:51, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @Dorsetonian, note that FloridaArmy is a long established user editing since 2016 with 170K+ edits and many admins are aware of them so if there was an issue it would have already been addressed. They have already been reported to Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention multiple times for instance and rejected 2017, 2020 , 2021 and those are ones done with the tool that puts the reported name in the edit summary. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 10:20, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with the reviewers who noted 1) there is no such thing as a Florida Army and 2) the most likely and reasonable interpretation would be someone in Florida who serves or served in the U. S. Army. I was unaware of the reports. I don't remember anyone notifying me about them although I think somebody once raised an issue about my username and another editor explained what I have noted and what the username reviewers stated. If my name is causing anyone angst I am willing to be renamed User:Boundless Love. FloridaArmy (talk) 12:21, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- The most used tool WP:TWINKLE does not alert the user when reporting, it generally saves stress from bad reports - they just get silently denied. I don't see your name causing any issues, but renaming would confuse people due to the large amount of name-recognition you have built up over the years. After all your you be for a Mr. Tickle or a Doctor Octopus from Florida :) KylieTastic (talk) 12:44, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- My you be? I considered a rename to User:Florida Man, surprisingly not taken. But maybe that would be controversial with someone? Refers to a group of people? Anything to keep everyone happy. FloridaArmy (talk) 13:04, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oops, typing while distracted.... I think a brain-fart moment mixing two things "your name could be for..." and "you could be..." - sometimes what parts of my brain and hands choose to type is a complete surprise to me. I would never like to guess if anyone could be upset with User:Florida Man, peoples capacity to get upset by anything is frequently surprising. KylieTastic (talk) 13:23, 5 September 2024 (UTC)

- Notable as a state legislator User:OnlyNano. In addition to the sources cited, a copy of an obituary for him is on the Findagrave page linked in the external links section. I don't know how to include it as a reference but it has some helpful details. FloridaArmy (talk) 13:30, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- I understand your point, and noticed that I was indeed correct on WP:POLITICIAN, thanks for bringing that to my attention. I did notice the findagrave page, however that doesn't appear to increase his notability. I'm a bit confused by the last sentance, however I would just include some info from the website, then inline cite it. Maybe an infobox, too.
- Anyways, I now see no reason not to accept this draft, so I will have this moved over to mainspace. OnlyNanotalk 13:41, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
