Hello, Elli,
This page wasn't "incoherent gibberish"...if the words are understandable, it doesn't qualify as gibberish. But it was an IP editor creating user pages in another editor's user space so it wasn't appropriate and I have deleted the page. But it really has to be incoherent to qualify as CSD G1. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:52, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Liz: fair enough. I was looking at all of the IP range's contributions and they seemed to be uh, pretty nonsensical (including an edit to my userpage which is what inclined me to check). Was also considering G3 but eh, not sure it was bad faith. Elli (talk | contribs) 03:53, 3 January 2022 (UTC)

Question from Cabbaritta (22:01, 9 December 2021)
I would like to write articles on mental health, psychotherapy and matchmaking. I am a licensed professional counselor, certified matchmaker and author. What is the best way to start and should these pieces be placed in any particular section Thank you. S,M. Barrett --Cabbaritta (talk) 22:01, 9 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Cabbaritta: hello, I'm very sorry I didn't get back to your message sooner. Are there article topics you feel like we don't cover adequately? If they have existing articles, then improve them with reliably sourced content, if not, then you might want to look into writing a new page (you'd want to look at our notability guidelines). Welcome to the 2022 WikiCup!
Happy New Year and Happy New WikiCup! The 2022 competition has just begun and all article creators, expanders, improvers and reviewers are welcome to take part. Even if you are a novice editor you should be able to advance to at least the second round, improving your editing skills as you go. If you have already signed up, your submissions page can be found here. If you have not yet signed up, you can add your name here and the judges will set up your submissions page. Any questions on the rules or on anything else should be directed to one of the judges, or posted to the WikiCup talk page. Signups will close at the end of January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will move on to round 2. The judges for the WikiCup this year are: Sturmvogel 66 (talk · contribs · email) and Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs · email). Good luck! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 15:02, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

Texas Legislative District SVG Maps
Hi Elli. Thank you for your suggestions on improving the maps I made for the 2010 Texas House of Representatives election. I downloaded the programs you suggested and I was able to get them to work; however, I still need some help in getting working maps for the 2008-2012 House maps. I could theoretically just use Inkscape to edit the 2018 map for the 2012 elections, but there were slight changes to the maps made between the 2012 and 2014 elections, so the map's district boundaries would not be fully accurate. I managed to find shapefiles for both the 2002-2010 and the 2012 maps here:
2002-2010: https://data.capitol.texas.gov/dataset/planh100/resource/0f45c47e-d691-4da1-b58e-2aa604302b65
2012: https://data.capitol.texas.gov/dataset/planh283/resource/99dad859-5b7f-440b-aa33-1981ed221f24
I was also able to get them to load in qGIS, but I was unable to export them to SVG files at an acceptable resolution. The 2018 SVG map was about 100x larger in file size than the one I was able to export for 2012, but I was unable to find any way to significantly increase the export's resolution to match it. Since I have provided links to the correct shapefiles, would you either be able to make proper SVG maps with these or instruct me in the proper steps to get a good map resolution? If you were to make maps for 2012 and either 2008 or 2010, I would be able to use Inkscape to fill in the gaps myself to create maps for pages possibly going all the way back to 2002. Thank you for your help! OutlawRun (talk) 18:22, 18 January 2022 (UTC)

The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/2019 Lakewood semi-truck crash. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, 2019 Lakewood semi-truck crash), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Question from Cabbaritta (12:50, 31 January 2022)
Hello, I would like to contribute specifically about Caribbean and Caribbean American people and experiences. Any advice? --Cabbaritta (talk) 12:50, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
There is not much literature on that regard - Caribbean and Caribbean Americans. --Cabbaritta (talk) 12:51, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Cabbaritta: hi, yeah, some areas can be lacking in published literature unfortunately. I might suggest checking out books at your local library? Once your account is a bit older the Wikipedia library has a decent selection of sourcing.
- You might want to check out Wikipedia:WikiProject Caribbean, though it doesn't look particularly active.
- One more note: you can use sources which are not in English, which for those countries should help you find more writing.

Question from Envixity131 (19:03, 1 February 2022)
Hello mate, What to do if no image there? --Envixity131 (talk) 19:03, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Envixity131: hello, I'm not sure what you're asking here; can you please be more specific? Elli (talk | contribs) 21:24, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
Hello, Elli,
When you tag a page for deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/TFD/RFD/etc.), please post a notification on the talk page of the page creator so they are aware of why the page they created has been tagged for deletion. I see no message at all on the page creator's talk page.
Please make sure your Twinkle Preferences have the "Notify page creator" box checked off and that all CSD criteria are selected as well. I believe the default is to only have a few CSD criteria selected but they all need to be selected. Thank you for your contributions. Liz Read! Talk! 02:41, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Liz: thanks, I'm pretty sure we've had this discussion before -- I don't see why it would be necessary to notify in this case? They did a pretty convoluted messed up move, but everything ended up where they wanted it to go, with the content they wanted; I would think notifying them would only add confusion here.
- Upon looking at Twinkle's settings, I realized that while it will notify for G6 CSD's, it will only notify for ones that are "copy-and-paste" moves. While this was a copy-and-paste move, I selected a generic G6 instead and explained my reasoning, so the user wasn't notified. Sorry about that? I don't run into these that often, but I'll try to be more diligent. I really don't understand why the notification was necessary in this case, though. Elli (talk | contribs) 02:48, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) I will reïterate what I said here; I'll admit I was a bit disappointed that Liz didn't reply to that. I emphasize the bit about it not being intuitively obvious to me that notifying users in these cases will help them rather than confuse them. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 10:32, 5 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi, how to create a page about our company/product? --Ludop2e (talk) 22:28, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Ludop2e: thanks for your question? I would advise not editing anything about which you have a conflict of interest, since that makes it less likely you will uphold our policies such as neutral point of view. I also suggest you review our notability guideline for corporations. You should have multiple high-quality reliable sources; if you do, send them to me and I'll see if I can write up something. WikiCup 2022 March newsletter
And so ends the first round of the WikiCup. Last year anyone who scored more than zero points moved on to Round 2, but this was not the case this year, and a score of 13 or more was required to proceed. The top scorers in Round 1 were:
- Epicgenius, a finalist last year, who led the field with 1906 points, gained from 32 GAs and 19 DYKs, all on the topic of New York buildings.
- AryKun, new to the contest, was second with 1588 points, having achieved 2 FAs, 11 GAs and various other submissions, mostly on the subject of birds.
- Bloom6132, a WikiCup veteran, was in third place with 682 points, garnered from 51 In the news items and several DYKs.
- GhostRiver was close behind with 679 points, gained from achieving 12 GAs, mostly on ice hockey players, and 35 GARs.
- Kavyansh.Singh was in fifth place with 551 points, with an FA, a FL, and many reviews.
- SounderBruce was next with 454 points, gained from an FA and various other submissions, mostly on United States highways.
- Ktin, another WikiCup veteran, was in seventh place with 412 points, mostly gained from In the news items.
These contestants, like all the others who qualified for Round 2, now have to start scoring points again from scratch. Between them, contestants completed reviews of a large number of good articles as the contest ran concurrently with a GAN backlog drive. Well done all! To qualify for Round 3, contestants will need to finish Round 2 among the top thirty-two participants.
Remember that any content promoted after the end of Round 1 but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Anything that should have been claimed for in Round 1 is no longer eligible for points. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed.
Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! - @Celestialbyallielee: hi, writing pages is one of the harder things to do on Wikipedia, especially on living people. I'd suggest you look at Help:Your first article. The main points are this: you need multiple sources providing significant coverage in independent reliable sources, everything in the article must be verifiable, and the article must be compliant with our policy regarding articles on living people. Please let me know if you have more questions! Also, if you have a conflict of interest, I strongly recommend against writing this article yourself -- it's allowed, but very much discouraged per our conflict of interest guideline. Question from Zanjan Kite (15:12, 17 March 2022)
Hello, I added items for my kite production page in Wikipedia in Persian. My current problem is as follows:
As you know, Persian is written in contrast to English from right to left. Because of this, I could not do this on the edit page. As a result, my posts are displayed from left to right. This problem is solved by clicking of Shift + Ctrl on the right side of the keyboard. But when storing limited information, it returns to the previous state. --Zanjan Kite (talk) 15:12, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
- @Zanjan Kite: hi and sorry for the late reply. This is the English Wikipedia so therefore content for the site should generally only be written in English. I'd suggest you consider contributing to the Persian Wikipedia if that is a language you'd prefer to write in. Please let me know if you have any more questions! WikiCup 2022 May newsletter
The second round of the 2022 WikiCup has now finished. It was a high-scoring round and contestants needed 115 points to advance to round 3. There were some very impressive efforts in round 2, with the top seven contestants all scoring more than 500 points. A large number of the points came from the 11 featured articles and the 79 good articles achieved in total by contestants.
Our top scorers in round 2 were:
- Epicgenius, with 1264 points from 2 featured article, 4 good articles and 18 DYKs. Epicgenius was a finalist last year but has now withdrawn from the contest as he pursues a new career path.
- AryKun, with 1172 points from two featured articles, one good article and a substantial number of featured article and good article reviews.
- Bloom6132, with 605 points from 44 in the news items and 4 DYKs.
- Sammi Brie, with 573 points from 8 GAs and 21 DYKs.
- Ealdgyth, with 567 points from 11 GAs and 34 good and featured article reviews.
- Panini!, with 549 points from 1 FA, 4 GAs and several other sources.
- Lee Vilenski, with 545 points from 1 FA, 4 GAs and a number of reviews.
The rules for featured and good article reviews require the review to be of sufficient length; brief quick fails and very short reviews will generally not be awarded points. Remember also that DYKs cannot be claimed until they have appeared on the main page. As we enter the third round, any content promoted after the end of round 2 but before the start of round 3 can be claimed now, and anything you forgot to claim in round 2 cannot! Remember too, that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Hello, Elli,
If for some reason, you choose not to leave a redirect during a page move, please check "What links here" for redirects to the previous location and correct them to point to the new page title. Otherwise, they become broken redirects and can get deleted by one of our bots if someone doesn't catch them in time. They are often redirects we want to keep because once they are deleted, it's unlikely someone will think to restore them. But the easiest thing to do is to leave a redirect during a page move and then a different bot will retarget the redirects to point to the new location.
This is especially important with moves that are the result of vandalism. Often page movers don't want to leave behind a redirect because the old page title that was the result of vandalism was so bad but Wikipedia's bots are very quick and a few minutes after a legitimate article has been moved to a bad title, all of its redirects were changed. So leaving behind a redirect will ensure they are not lost. Many thanks for all of your contributions, I seem to see your name all over Wikipedia these days! Liz Read! Talk! 22:53, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry, didn't realize that there were incoming redirects there. Thanks for fixing that! I usually try to check for these, especially when moving articles, but since this was a recent move and cross-namespace I forgot. Elli (talk | contribs) 00:13, 6 April 2022 (UTC)

Question from Squirl1 (16:50, 23 April 2022)
Hello, I like to create my first page but I not sure how this works particular with the sandbox. I know how to create a page directly, but I read it is better to do it in the sandbox first and let it check by an experienced Wiki-Admin. If so, how to go on? How could I be sure using sandbox, that the final page has the right name? --Squirl1 (talk) 16:50, 23 April 2022 (UTC)

Question from Squirl1 (09:43, 28 April 2022)
Hello Elli, I have an urgent case. Created my first page. Yes, I read the Wiki rules. I was sure not to make it wrong. I just had very less content - I got advise do stay between 100-150 words on the frist publish. I got: "..It is proposed that this article be deleted because of the following concern: No evidence of any notability found. (proposed by Fram)...."... But I do have references! Ok, so I added more important content and also references. I compaired my page with other of same topic. I see no problem. So how to solve that delete-request? Please help! --Squirl1 (talk) 09:43, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Squirl1: as this is a WP:PROD tag, you can simply remove it from the page. However, if someone then chooses to nominate the article for deletion, then you'll have to participate in the deletion discussion there instead. Elli (talk | contribs) 12:23, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for that info. I still doing some improvments - but I need someone experienced (you?) who could check and give an advise about the new content/status, if better or not. As a new user, I dont want to simply remove this tag without discussion, I dont know if I upset the one who made the tag.Squirl1 (talk) 13:14, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Elli Now I deletetd this WP:PROD tag. I really did a lot of research work on that page, added much essential content and many references. I think the current page status must be OK for the Wiki page rules. Of course it is not 100% complete, but I hope other users will join sometimes, adding stuff. Please, can you give me an assessment from your side if i'm right? Thank you very much. Squirl1 (talk) 17:27, 29 April 2022 (UTC)

Request for adding Three Kingdoms editnotice to campaignboxes
Hi Elli, could I ask you to add the Template:Three Kingdoms editnotice to Template:Campaignbox End of Han and Template:Campaignbox Three Kingdoms? It may help prevent good-faith editors from incorrectly adding fictional battles like the Battle of Hulao Pass. I'm asking you because apparently only template editors (like you) are allowed to do that, and I just so happened to see that you renamed the Template:Three Kingdoms editnotice last October. I think the editnotice is already quite helpful for many end of Han / Three Kingdoms themed articles, and I think it's a good idea to extend it to templates such as these campaignboxes as well. In fact, I'm considering whether we should also introduce such editnotices for other periods in military history, where good-faith editors are at risk of adding fictional battles to articles or templates because these battles are mentioned in sources that are nevertheless not always reliable for writing military history. (Yesterday I launched a deletion discussion of three such templates with a mix of non-historical, semi-historical and historical battles, and I just remembered this Three Kingdoms editnotice as setting an exemplary standard in separating military history and fiction on English Wikipedia). Cheers, Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 09:49, 5 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Nederlandse Leeuw: sure, I've added the editnotice to both templates now. I do not have a strong opinion on whether it would be a good idea to use a similar editnotice for other periods of military history; the benefit has to be weighed against the potential increase in banner blindness. You might want to start a larger discussion about this somewhere, such as at the military history WikiProject. Elli (talk | contribs) 18:37, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks Elli! Yes, I will be careful to keep that in mind when making such a proposal. Cheers, Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 19:48, 7 May 2022 (UTC)

Question
Hello, Elli. Yesterday you created some redirects for me. I just realized all songs from Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) are stylized in all lowercase, so it would be useful and precise to have "//aguardiente y limón %ᵕ‿‿ᵕ%" with the following text: R from stylization. I will edit the other redirects to adapt it. Thanks. 7szz (talk) 20:49, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter May 2022
Hello Elli,
At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.
Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.
In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 804 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 852 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.
This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.
If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

Question from Jasondottleyofficial (00:41, 7 June 2022)
my article has been vandalised and targeted by trolls on datalounge to try to have removed https://www.datalounge.com/thread/30947120-miss-dottley-thinks-she-is-a-god-and-must-be-stopped! and it's not the only thread about it. this started in oct or november and I have no idea how to stop it. --Jasondottleyofficial (talk) 00:41, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Jasondottleyofficial: this situation seems to be a bit of a mess. The article will almost certainly not be deleted without going through an articles for deletion discussion, during which you would be able to provide sourcing in favor of keeping the article.
- On another note, could I suggest that you and your PR firm stop editing the article? While this does not affect its notability, it does affect its neutrality, and while not entirely prohibited, is strongly discouraged. Elli (talk | contribs) 00:51, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi! Thank you so much for your prompt reply! First and foremost, until this mess my management and pr people did not that they were not allowed to keep an eye on and correct anything. They were honest mistakes that will not happen again. This is why I started my own account and wrote you and asked other for help. I understand now that beyond just me, no one biased can partake either. Problem solved. 😏 I just don't understand how the references are in question or the facts they reference when the sources for 80% of everything is as legit and high up the ladder as you can go (I.e. Billboard Magazine for charting, Deadline The Advocate, etc) and I noticed several years ago this was poesd and editors decidced it did meet notability standards. Anyway, thank you again for offering advice and your help. We will keep our hands off of things as we have been since learning the policy, and hope that the truth speaks for itself. I can't imagine the craziness of your work here! God bless! Jasondottleyofficial (talk) 01:01, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
Question from Gwils (11:16, 7 June 2022)
Hi there, I need to make an account for an upcoming feature documentary. How do I do this? --Gwils (talk) 11:16, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Gwils: hello, I'm not quite sure what you're asking? If you're involved with this documentary I would suggest not creating or editing an article on it yourself, as you have a conflict of interest. If you do intend to do so anyway, there is no need to create a separate account to do so. Elli (talk | contribs) 15:21, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
New Page Patrol newsletter June 2022
Hello Elli,
- Backlog status
At the time of the last newsletter (No.27, May 2022), the backlog was approaching 16,000, having shot up rapidly from 6,000 over the prior two months. The attention the newsletter brought to the backlog sparked a flurry of activity. There was new discussion on process improvements, efforts to invite new editors to participate in NPP increased and more editors requested the NPP user right so they could help, and most importantly, the number of reviews picked up and the backlog decreased, dipping below 14,000[a] at the end of May.
Since then, the news has not been so good. The backlog is basically flat, hovering around 14,200. I wish I could report the number of reviews done and the number of new articles added to the queue. But the available statistics we have are woefully inadequate. The only real number we have is the net queue size.[b]
In the last 30 days, the top 100 reviewers have all made more than 16 patrols (up from 8 last month), and about 70 have averaged one review a day (up from 50 last month).
While there are more people doing more reviews, many of the ~730 with the NPP right are doing little. Most of the reviews are being done by the top 50 or 100 reviewers. They need your help. We appreciate every review done, but please aim to do one a day (on average, or 30 a month).
- Backlog drive
A backlog reduction drive, coordinated by buidhe and Zippybonzo, will be held from July 1 to July 31. Sign up here. Barnstars will be awarded.
- TIP – New school articles
Many new articles on schools are being created by new users in developing and/or non-English-speaking countries. The authors are probably not even aware of Wikipedia's projects and policy pages. WP:WPSCH/AG has some excellent advice and resources specifically written for these users. Reviewers could consider providing such first-time article creators with a link to it while also mentioning that not all schools pass the GNG and that elementary schools are almost certainly not notable.
- Misc
There is a new template available, {{NPP backlog}}
, to show the current backlog. You can place it on your user or talk page as a reminder:
Very high unreviewed pages backlog: 12217 articles, as of 22:00, 12 November 2024 (UTC), according to DatBot
There has been significant discussion at WP:VPP recently on NPP-related matters (Draftification, Deletion, Notability, Verifiability, Burden). Proposals that would somewhat ease the burden on NPP aren't gaining much traction, although there are suggestions that the role of NPP be fundamentally changed to focus only on major CSD-type issues.
- Reminders
- Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.

WikiCup 2022 July newsletter
The third round of the 2022 WikiCup has now come to an end. Each of the sixteen contestants who made it into the fourth round had at least 180 points, which is a lower figure than last year when 294 points were needed to progress to round 4. Our top scorers in round 3 were:
- BennyOnTheLoose, with 746 points, a tally built both on snooker and other sports topics, and on more general subjects.
- Bloom6132, with 683 points, garnered mostly from "In the news" items and related DYKs.
- Sammi Brie, with 527, from a variety of submissions related to radio and television stations.
Between them contestants achieved 5 featured articles, 4 featured lists, 51 good articles, 149 DYK entries, 68 ITN entries, and 109 good article reviews. As we enter the fourth round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 3 but before the start of round 4 can be claimed in round 4. Please also remember that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met. Please also remember that all submissions must meet core Wikipedia policies, regardless of the review process.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is a good article nomination, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Question from Gary Breeze on Bali Bombings Memorial, London (08:22, 3 August 2022)
Hi, my name is Gary Breeze. I designed and built this memorial. It was not facilitated by Memorials by Artists as is mentioned in the citation. Initial enquiries were made to them but they didn't project manage this. My objection is based on the fact that their citation links to their website which is disingenuous. Also, as I understand it, I am not permitted a link to my website as this would be advertising. If that's not the case then please create a legitimate link. In either case, please remove the Lettering Arts Trust link. Thanks --Gary Breeze (talk) 08:22, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Gary Breeze: thanks for reaching out! I've removed the line you pointed out as the source indeed does not seem clearly reliable or easily verifiable. It would generally not be allowed to include a link to your website on the page as it's not particularly relevant to the article, though if you had a page on your website particularly for this memorial that would probably be acceptable. New Page Patrol newsletter August 2022
Hello Elli,
- Backlog status
After the last newsletter (No.28, June 2022), the backlog declined another 1,000 to 13,000 in the last week of June. Then the July backlog drive began, during which 9,900 articles were reviewed and the backlog fell by 4,500 to just under 8,500 (these numbers illustrate how many new articles regularly flow into the queue). Thanks go to the coordinators Buidhe and Zippybonzo, as well as all the nearly 100 participants. Congratulations to Dr vulpes who led with 880 points. See this page for further details.
Unfortunately, most of the decline happened in the first half of the month, and the backlog has already risen to 9,600. Understandably, it seems many backlog drive participants are taking a break from reviewing and unfortunately, we are not even keeping up with the inflow let alone driving it lower. We need the other 600 reviewers to do more! Please try to do at least one a day.
- Coordination
- MB and Novem Linguae have taken on some of the coordination tasks. Please let them know if you are interested in helping out. MPGuy2824 will be handling recognition, and will be retroactively awarding the annual barnstars that have not been issued for a few years.
- Open letter to the WMF
- The Page Curation software needs urgent attention. There are dozens of bug fixes and enhancements that are stalled (listed at Suggested improvements). We have written a letter to be sent to the WMF and we encourage as many patrollers as possible to sign it here. We are also in negotiation with the Board of Trustees to press for assistance. Better software will make the active reviewers we have more productive.
- TIP - Reviewing by subject
- Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages by their most familiar subjects can do so from the regularly updated sorted topic list.
- New reviewers
- The NPP School is being underused. The learning curve for NPP is quite steep, but a detailed and easy-to-read tutorial exists, and the Curation Tool's many features are fully described and illustrated on the updated page here.
- Reminders
- Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
- If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing
{{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page. - If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
