Invitation to participate in a research
[edit]Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,

Vasa (ship)
[edit]You kindly got involved in the discussion over a separate notes section for Vasa (ship) a little while ago. That seemed to be going nowhere, but as I look at doing some work on Mary Rose I see that exactly the same problem exists there. We have a number of technical points that would be best explained in footnotes, but the article style is to mix that information in with ordinary references. I rather left the Vasa issue unresolved as it seemed there was no clear consensus. However, I noted that the resistant editor has ceased editing, at least for now, after crossing swords with other editors on an unrelated matter.
Are you someone who could offer their advice on how to proceed on this matter? If the Vasa issue is reactivated or if I make the same suggestion on Mary Rose, that seems to rather take advantage of another editor going off in a huff. However, I genuinely believe it would make both articles substantially better for the reader (and a lot easier to write). Any thoughts would be welcome.
In the meantime, I have other Wikipedia targets to occupy my time, not least Red Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador wreck 24M (aka San Juan). I have available the 5 volumes of the final report on the excavations which, bizarrely, have no index, just to make life difficult. ThoughtIdRetired TIR 22:33, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
