Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Dalit figures, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Dalit figures has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Dalit figures, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hi Abhishek, nice to meet you. Well your last edit to Jai Ho has been reverted as it seemed a mere Advertisement reference and didnot have any encyclopaedic value. If you want you can add links like this to EL, not to the main prose. Thank you. --Legolas (talktome) 08:17, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

P.S. Nice user page. Really good. --Legolas (talktome) 08:23, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Really weird comment! Citation added was not at all an advertisement as alleged, it is a necessary citation about all three singers for the song, as there are none mentioned, and in good faith. More over the link is to news site Rediff.com, what would one advertise?! No need to start an Edit war, just because you feel ownership towards the article for some reason! --Ekabhishek (talk) 09:55, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Kitu Gidwani as Pallavi, in Dance of the Wind, 1997.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Kitu Gidwani as Pallavi, in Dance of the Wind, 1997.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:21, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Did You Know nom

Sorry, but I had to remove your [DYK nomination of Dahlia because the article has not been expanded fivefold in the last couple days. One of the DYK rules is that DYK only features articles that are "new", which means they were either recently created or they were recently expanded so much that 80% of the content is new. So if the only change is the addition of one image and one ref, the article won't qualify. Sorry about that. Best, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 11:50, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Never mind, thought that was interesting fact about Dahlia flower, never highlighted earlier at wiki, so added it, though I believe rules should not stop readers from knowing interesting facts! --Ekabhishek (talk) 13:27, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Offensive pictures of Hindu Dieties

Please participate in the discussions and invite others to speak against this injustice.Truth only truth (talk) 19:44, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi Ekabhishek... thanks for your efforts to improve this article. What I would like to see is some sources which show that the attacks on Indian students were motivated by racism. At the moment the article doesn't show this at all -- the attacks look like random or opportunistic attacks. Do you know of any sources which demonstrate ideological racism against Indians in Australia? - Borofkin (talk) 12:11, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

I have just added many source in the background section, also you might want to look into the White Australia Policy which was practice 1901 to 1970s, or Australia Says Sorry, to put this clear and historic perspective! --Ekabhishek (talk) 12:14, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
The White Australia Policy and Australia's treatment of Aboriginies are absolutely irrelevant to this article. The sources you have added to the background section are a very good history of attacks on Indians in Austrlia, but they do not demonstrate ideological racism. Consider this quote: "They become soft targets by groups of four to six drug users, for example, who just want cash." Drug users who want cash? They don't sound like racists to me, they sound like drug users who want cash. If I were you I'd try to add information to the article about the concerns Indians had back in 2006. For example, it seems that a community meeting was held in Enfield -- this shows that Indians were scared even then. Or this: "Federation of Indian Students of Australia secretary Gautam Gupta said racism was rampant." That is the sort of thing you should add to the article -- Gupta was talking about racism back in 2008! - Borofkin (talk) 12:25, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Kudos!

Dear Abhishek, Your profile has impressed me. Besides, there are common subjects of interest between us. I am based at Karnal. Your write-up on inspiring stuff is also very intensive. I have deep interest in Yoga and was surprised to see the image of the whirling sufi who I think must be from Turkey. Please let me know whether you belong to Karnal. Hello R.K.! Good to hear your views on the 'write-up', and of your interest in Yog. The image you talked about is from Rumi Festival, where the dancers try to find the "centre within" by whirling fast enough for their minds to loose control! Something life does to us, so often, hoping that we find our 'centre within' in that chaos!...As for Karnal, I do not belong to the city. Best... :)--Ekabhishek (talk) 17:39, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Minister of Information and Broadcasting requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. TeapotgeorgeTalk 17:44, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Kirron Kher in Khamosh Pani (2003).jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Kirron Kher in Khamosh Pani (2003).jpg.

You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 08:57, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Image got removed as its text was altered in the article, due faulty editing, now restored. Thanks. --Ekabhishek (talk) 11:40, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Malgudi Days

I'm going to undo your edit for now, the reason is that the Malgudi Days book was actually not adapted to the TV series. The TV series consisted of The Vendor of Sweets with Anant Nag as the vendor, Swami and Friends with Manjunath as Swami and short stories from multiple collections including Malgudi Days (book). I'm trying to find the entire list of episodes to map them to the correct books shortly. cheers. -SpacemanSpiffCalvinHobbes 17:35, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

OK! It is one of the books/stories included in the series, that's fine by me! --Ekabhishektalk 05:06, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
I found a ref (but unclear on how many stories from this vs Astrologer's Day & OS), so I just changed to a few stories from the book. It's also covered in R. K. Narayan#Adaptations. cheers. -SpacemanSpiffCalvinHobbes 05:26, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Jaya Bhaduri in Jawani Diwani, 1972 film.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Jaya Bhaduri in Jawani Diwani, 1972 film.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 10:50, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Angkor Wat

Hi there. I happened to be on the Angkor Wat article and noticed that although it was featured, there was no star in the upper right hand corner. Evidently putting the {{featured article}} template inside the {{template group}} template, as you did in this edit, prevents the star from displaying. Just letting you know, for future reference. :) tktktk 00:23, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

This is strange! Although the edit shows my name, I don't recall putting that mark in the article, as I have never done that anywhere. I am intrigued though by this, as to what could have caused it?! Hm... --Ekabhishektalk 05:47, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Criminal Tribes Act

I see you've done a lot of work to improve the Criminal Tribes Act article. Thanks for your work! I don't know if it is appropriate to add or not, but the film "Acting Like a Thief," mentioned in that article, can be watched online for free: http://fournineandahalf.com/actinglikeathief There is also a study-guide we put together which might be a useful resource for people interested in the topic. kerim (talk) 06:43, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

I don't think, adding such links is allowed as per Wikipedia:External links. In any case, some additional info about the film can definitely be added from there, giving the link as a citation. Thanks! --Ekabhishektalk 10:59, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

The imaged was orphaned because it was removed by another editor, from the article, now restored. Secondly there is No "unliscensed media" uploaded by me, including the above image, please check the entire text after placing a template. Thank you! :)
I don't know why the template reads that. I use Twinkle which is a button from tagging an image. Pardon if I've made some mistakes. Cheers, ZooFari 04:45, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

IP blocked?!

Strange, I am registered user, currently am logged in and not using an open proxy, or a public computer, still received Block IP message."Editing from 117.198.129.155 has been disabled by ProcseeBot for the following reason(s):This IP address has been blocked because it is believed to be an open proxy or zombie computer.."

Have tried re-logging in, still the same result. Few weeks back local cable guys has changed the IP, would that might have caused it, but that's an old event. Though it just might be a bot error...double check needed I guess. Will some admin take care of the issue, thanks for the help!--Ekabhishektalk 05:49, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Babri Mosque Please Help

Thank you for making corrections this article. I wrote the architectural section of the article which I found vandalised. My article had been there for four years withouth change and had stood the test of time. But then somebody keeps removing paragraphs. Please keep an eye on this work. I have restored it to the point 22:43, 26 November 2009 79.77.139.65 which are the last of my three edits. I have also put back a photograph of the Mosque. I do not get involved in the politics of the dispute really I only write on architecture of old monuments both Hindu and Muslim in India and elsewhere. But as a architect i say again I only intrested in architecture of monuments. I would be very grateful if you can keep an eye on my article and revert to 22:43, 26 November 2009 79.77.139.65 which is the original for comparison. I originally wrote the article (architectural section) in 2006 and it keeps getting vandalised only recently as the Mosque has been in the Indian news. Of Course I welcome and would be very happy if the section was improved by a fellow wikipedian with an interest in architecture of religious monument. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.77.158.185 (talk) 00:09, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

I suggest that you report it at WP:Vandalism, so that it can be watched by admin or at least the page can be protected. Consider becoming a registered user if you aren't as yet, so that you can access other forums as well, also consider saving a version with you. Thanks. --Ekabhishektalk 05:00, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Image got removed due to faulty editing, now replaced in the Infobox hence template removed. It would be better that editors at least visit the concerned article once before placing the template, to check if the image has been erroneously removed or has a valid reason to avoid the whole exercise, thus saving a lot of wiki time! --Ekabhishektalk 06:19, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
There are hundreds of orphaned non-free images that need to be tagged (see my recent contributions for evidence), so it would be futile on our own task to go to each article the image was on to check why it has been removed (plus I really don't know how to check the articles it has been on). Sorry for leaving responsibility to the uploader, but it's not an easy job. ZooFari 06:24, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
In this case, I happened to there to take care of things, but imagine otherwise the image would have been deleted, and the whole effort wasted! We are all working for the betterment of wiki aren't we? So, I'd suggest give it a few more seconds, and click the link on the "Information template", if image is missing say from Infobox of the article, without any reason in the article's "history", it would only take you few more second to replace the image file. Not an easy job I admit, but worthwhile I am sure! Plus, it not fair to create more wiki workload just so that you can lessen yours, take up as much as you can with ease! We will be more thankful then for your contributions! :) --Ekabhishektalk 06:43, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
Well it would also take time to investigate why the image was removed. Sometimes the removal is good-faith, sometimes not. Anyways, happy holidays. ZooFari 06:54, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
