An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

Orphaned non-free image File:Madan Mohan (1925-1975).jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Madan Mohan (1925-1975).jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Thank you for uploading File:Into Paradise, 2007 All Angels album cover.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILYsock(TALK) 07:17, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Ekabhishek! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 43 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Abhishek Chaubey was not born in 1987 as far as I can tell. India Today has his age as 31 in Aug. 2009 while Indian Express has it as 32 in an article in the same week. Which means the year is probably 1977 or '78. Last Contrarian (talk) 19:17, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Mumtaz in Khilona, 1970 film.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Mumtaz in Khilona, 1970 film.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. HaeB (talk) 09:12, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Manohar Singh

Can this photograph of Manohar Singh as Tughlaq be used in the article (or the infobox)? Its copyrighted no doubt, and the photographer is none other than Alkazi himself, but it does have something to do with Singh's original occupation, theatre.

If not, I guess I could get a screenshot from Chandni or Tiranga, assuming that it is acceptable, his being dead and all. Last Contrarian (talk) 10:15, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

I'd go the second option, to get a non-costumed image from a film screenshot, and a frontal image. --Ekabhishektalk 11:51, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Q re title for: The Principal Upanishads (book by Radhakrishnan)

Hello Ekabishek, I see you've contributed a lot to WP, and I'm wondering if you have any opinion about the best name for a page about Radhakrishnan's book The Principal Upanishads, which now exists. In lots of ways this is a trivial issue. But it might be worth a couple of minutes thought before the page becomes better known and other pages start linking to it. There are at least 3 possibilities:

  1. The Principal Upanishads
  2. The Principal Upanishads (book)
  3. The Principal Upanishads (book by Radhakrishnan)

I wrote a tiny bit about the pros and cons of each option over at the article's
talk page (currently at: Talk: The Principal Upanishads.

I'm inclined to go with #2 above, but I'd be interested in your thoughts, before I add more links. Best regards -- Health Researcher (talk) 19:47, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Need Project India and other Tags?

Hello Ekabhishek, Thanks for you help a couple of weeks ago about The Principal Upanishads (book), which you helped name, and then tagged as relevant to Wikiproject Hinduism and others. Since you seem to be aware of the various relevant projects, I was wondering if you'd look at two other recently created pages, and perhaps tag them as relevant to Hindiusm, India, or other projects (i.e., when they are in fact relevant):

Thanks much - Health Researcher (talk) 16:10, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Done You might like to go through WP:TTALK, or simply can add {{talkheader}} followed by {{WP India}} to India related pages...Similarly {{WP Hinduism}}. You can also choose to become a member of any of the workgroups of your liking. All the best! --Ekabhishektalk 16:58, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello, I hope you are doing fine and I sincerely apologize for this intrusion. I have just read your profile and you seem a very open minded and wise person interested in peace (of mind), languages, cultures and communication so maybe I am not bothering you and you will help us... I'm part of an association "Amical de la Viquipèdia" which is trying to get some recognition as a Catalan Chapter but this has not been approved up to this moment because it does not belong to one state. We think there shouldn't be barriers between human people and knowledge but at the same time we also want to preserve our culture and language as the others which are a part of biodiversity. We would appreciate your support, visible if you stick this on your first page: Wikimedia CAT. Thanks again, wishing you a great summer, take care! Capsot (talk) 08:11, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Jaya Bhaduri in Jawani Diwani, 1972 film.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Jaya Bhaduri in Jawani Diwani, 1972 film.jpg.

As a reminder, yes all claims MUST be supported by inline citations. WP:BLP Active Banana (talk) 09:34, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

  • I wonder, whether using WP:BLP or any other wiki rule, to delete entire sections etc, thus damaging an article, is constructive to wikipedia?! Usually it takes months and various users to add content and a single user to destroy it! Hope you realise in time! Also, refer to Damage of deletionism. --Ekabhishektalk 09:57, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
    • I really don't understand why some editors are so bent on damaging Wikipedia and treating it as a game with a rule book, instead of having a genuine desire to improve articles. I guess it's the usual human nature. Anyway, I'm restoring the images for now; let's see whether the destructive rule-mongers will continue to wear out the patience of everyone else. Shreevatsa (talk) 19:47, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
  • Anne Frank would agree, taking such behaviour as essential human nature would be a mistake on our part. As it takes all kinds of people to fill the spaces of the web as in the world, only here the anonymity allows us to act out in ways, we wouldn't normally in real life! That's why often issues with power are played out in various ways out here, so much to learn out here, wouldn't you agree, apart from the pedia stuff!? Let's stay inspired! :) --Ekabhishektalk 11:29, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
  • You have an admirable attitude. :-) Thanks. It's just frustrating when some editors seem less interested in improving Wikipedia than in making others conform to various "rules" (which the guidelines are not). (For example, there is no need for everything to be sourced to reliable sources: this is only for material which is challenged. Despite this, some editors challenge perfectly uncontroversial statements and play games of disbelieving them, which is contrary to assuming good faith, and often to common sense.) Anyway, yes, there is a lot to learn here, which is why I still visit, but I'm losing patience with editing articles frequented by bureaucratic wiki-lawyers. But thanks for the motivating example you set. :-) Shreevatsa (talk) 19:08, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for adding sources! Active Banana (talk) 12:15, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Hey

You're welcome. It's worth restoring - I'll find sources to support it. ShahidTalk2me 10:15, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Sanjukta Panigrahi, (1944-1997).jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 12:28, 22 July 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:28, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi. There was an earlier AfD at WP:Articles for deletion/Race 2 after which I incubated that article at Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Race 2. There is always a danger with incubated articles that someone will start a parallel one, and the history becomes confused; I tried to prevent that by setting up a redirect at Race 2. I invite you to make your improvements to the incubated version. Although I closed the new AfD saying that there was not a lot new, a second look shows me that you have added quite a few sources: if it would help you, I will userfy the new one for you temporarily so that you can copy your material across. You can reply below here - I will watch this page. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 21:19, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

  • All the references added previously have been removed, including the Production section now deleted! Now what is LEFT OF THE ARTICLE, is but a shell, and can recreated in few minutes, no use of incubating! What a waste of effort, I pitched in just to encourage a new user, now very after all! --Ekabhishektalk 03:58, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
You are right, and I have had second thoughts. I have done a history merge, so that the incubator version at Wikipedia:Article Incubator/Race 2 now has your improvements, and you are duly credited in the history. Please make any more changes to that version, which is the one that will eventually be moved to the main space when the film meets WP:NFF. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 21:31, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
So much better! :)--Ekabhishektalk 03:19, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Hello. You recently added a book by Alphascript Publishing/VDM Publishing to this article as "further reading". Unfortunately, this is not a reliable source as the text derives entirely from Wikipedia; this is a circular reference. See WP:ALPHASCRIPT. I've removed the mention of the book.

Another source to be wary of is the "Webster's Quotations, Facts and Phrases" series published by Icon Group International as their books are computer-generated, with most of the text copied from Wikipedia (most entries have [WP] by them to indicate this, see e.g. [1]). Replaceable fair use File:Kirron Kher in Khamosh Pani (2003).jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Kirron Kher in Khamosh Pani (2003).jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

==Thanks for contributing category to Vihang Naik article . Hope you will improve it further ...Thanks a lot...for your contributions

Thank you. Sreejith K (talk) 04:45, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

List of Higher Education Institutes in Meerut

Hi, I've created User:Siddhartha Ghai/List of colleges in Meerut which I think is now ready to be moved to the main wikipedia. Please have a look. Before the move, the name of the article needs to be decided. Options are:

  • List of Higher Education/Educational Institutes/Institutions in Meerut
  • List of Colleges in Meerut

Also, shoulde the list of schools(Only those upto XIIth) in Meerut also be included and the article named:

  • List of Education/Educational Institutes/Institutions in Meerut

Any and all comments and suggestions are welcome. Thanks!--Siddhartha Ghai (talk) 06:33, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Hello Abhishek

"Did you Know?" review of Dhammapada (Easwaran translation)?

Hi, I've always appreciated your broad and positive interests. If you're around and get a chance, perhaps you'd be interested in spending 5-10 mins to review a DYK submission for Dhammapada (Easwaran translation)? (DYK="Did You Know" is a daily feature on Wikipedia's Main Page) I'm hoping it can run on Buddha's birthday, which is Tue May 17, but it's been listed at DYK for 4 days, and no-one's yet reviewed it, so time is getting shorter. If interested, you could see if it's still listed at Template_talk:Did_you_know#Dhammapada_.28Easwaran_translation.29. Thanks! -- Health Researcher (talk) 04:54, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

hey... am bit confused. The main article page says that it was the 1st company to screen a film in an international film fest. Right? Wikimedia Stories Project

Hello,

My name is Victor Grigas, and I'm a storyteller at the Wikimedia foundation. We're telling stories of Wikipedia users, editors, donors, programmers and staff to paint a picture of who uses Wikipedia - for the 2011 fundraiser.

I am in the process of planning a trip to India to gather stories from Indian Wikipedians in face-to-face interviews (possibly on video).

My primary goal is to conduct 15-20 interviews, and hopefully enough of my interviews will make compelling stories that will effectively solicit donations from the public. These stories may also be used for other communication purposes by the foundation.

I found your userpage on a list of prolific Wikipedians and thought I’d reach out to you. Prolific editing is always a good story to tell!

If you are interested in participating, please contact me via my email:

vgrigas@wikimedia.org

Thank you for your time!

Victor

Make sure you take time, to add relevant third party resources, either online or offline and citations, also having a Sandbox helps. All the best, do not get disheartened. --Ekabhishektalk 05:48, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice, Abhishek! I improved the last section heading, added inline links to relevant third party resources with editorial reviews for each reference, added citation by Canadian Mathematical Society as external link. Satyatrivedi (talk) 11:21, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

Two more third party external links that I could find:

(1) Euroacademy Series Baltic Horizons Special Issue, December 2010 [4]

(2) Higgs Boson Mass predicted by the Four Color Theorem, arXiv:0912.5189 [5]

The discussion page for deletion does not allow any comments in favour of keeping the article! The two main antagonists promptly abuse and strike out any such comment. Unfortunately there is no fair discussion there.
