Orphaned non-free media (File:Nitish Katara, d. 2002.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Nitish Katara, d. 2002.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:13, 30 December 2012 (UTC)

New year with a full length drama article?
Last month I created a full length (well more or less) article on a Bengali drama... So, start this year too with a drama article? I have randomly chosen Atmakatha (this one. I can see this drama is covered by a good number of reliable sources).
I requested an Infobox drama. I can see that has not been created still. Hope to have it done soon.
I want to work on Bengali (West Bengal) dramas. But, there is a big issue: "subject", if I find a clean and clear subject, I don't get RS, if I get RS, I don't like the subject..... You can suggest any other drama of any Indian language (Hindi, Marathi... ). But, having at least 3 reliable sources will be handy! --Tito Dutta (talk) 16:00, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
- I can suggest a few classic plays, Aadhe Adhure (Halfway House) and Leheron Ke Raj Hans (Great Swans of the Waves) by Mohan Rakesh, Tughlaq (1964) by Girish Karnad, they are still awaiting their articles. Google books would offer you some reliable sources. --Ekabhishektalk 16:28, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
- Not actually plays (i.e. literature which is read), please suggest dramas (which is staged and watched). These sound good.. Any recently released (last 2 years or so) popular Hindi drama? --Tito Dutta (talk) 16:47, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
- Well you never mentioned you were looking for recent plays, and all good plays get performed. Though why not plays which have stood the test of time and are still under production, like these? Anyways, If you do go for popular plays (Don't know much about them) I'd suggest choose those which add something new to dramaturgy, like Vijay Tendulkar plays. --Ekabhishektalk 17:12, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
- Drama... not play (this one). No, recent dramas are not necessary, but, we can hope to get more digital sources for newly staged dramas (newspaper reviews etc). Or you actually want articles on plays (the literature)? The above plays surely deserve their own articles. We can go for it! --Tito Dutta (talk) 17:49, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
- OK, now I understand the source of your confusion between the two words, check out your link again, it also suggests, "The word ‘drama’ indicates a collection of all the terms used in dramaturgy or the art of play." so what you are referring to as drama is actually play. For clarification, check out Play (theatre), which also suggests the same, play means both a literary composition and its stage performance. Hope its clear to you now. Coming back to the subject, we can start with Tughlaq (1964) a Kannad play by Girish Karnad, is an allegory about the Nehruvian era, see here, Modern Kannada literature; when you have time, start one in your sandbox and I will pitch in. --Ekabhishektalk 10:37, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

New article needed on recovered Bengali spiritual film
Hello Ekabhishek! Please see the notice I just left at the India Project Noticeboard HERE (DIFF) about the need for an article about a newly recovered Bengali spiritual film. Please help if you can, or pass on this encouragement to anyone you know who might be able to help! (BTW, I don't speak or read Bengali or any Indian language except for a smattering of beginning Sanskrit - so perhaps there is much online info in Bengali to which I am oblivious) Thanks! -- Presearch (talk) 08:19, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hello Presearch, I have posted a similar notice on the talkpages of some of the leading contributors to Ramakrishna article, and who probably might know Bengali or be better equipped to take on the article. Thanks for bringing the movie to my attention.--Ekabhishektalk 08:40, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for your efforts (and also improvements to lead actor page)! I see some small sources -- only a bare beginning perhaps -- are turning up at India noticeboard. There, and on the lead actor page, I added a link to a recent Telegraph profile of lead actor Banerjee, which mentions the movie - LINK. --Presearch (talk) 20:25, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hope things start looking up soon. The Telegraph article is a Good find! I'm sure it would give some valuable info about Banerjee. --Ekabhishektalk 03:58, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

Re: Ramakrishna Film!
I have replied at India noticeboard. I made a list of 11 or 12 Bengali films on/about Ramakrishna. Of which I found 6 or 7 articles can not be created because of lack of source. This film was shot a New Theatres studio, but, not a notable one. I'll try to find offline sources once again, but most probably I won't be able to find any. --Tito Dutta (talk) 08:53, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
- Put together with other info on the notice board, a stub can be created for now. --Ekabhishektalk 04:05, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
- Titodutta, that list of 11 or 12 films about Ramakrishna sounds very interesting. It strikes me that there could be a WP article called something like "Films about Ramakrishna" that could describe all these films. Surely no one could argue with their collective notability (and whatever citations for each film are already available can be included right away). Then, if additional materials (e.g., such as those now offline) are available in order to bolster notability of individual films, there could also be articles made for individual films, with a summary kept on the overall page that discusses all films about Ramakrishna. That is, there need not be any contradiction between an article about an individual film, and an article about all RK films. And the article about all RK films, once viable, can be linked from the Ramakrishna page. What do you think? Would you want to go ahead and begin creating that page, either in mainspace or in userspace? (I can help build up the section on the 1955 film, since that's the one I know the most about...) Thanks -- Presearch (talk) 19:07, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
- I regularly create stubs on film articles, most probably this is my most recent one Matir Pahar. You'll see this article lacks citation, if someone's PRODs or AFDs it, I'll have only one rationale "Since this is a 1959 film, there are not too many online source. This is a nation (Bangladesh)'s 3rd film, should be kept for historical importance". I know, does not sound persuasive, but, I have nothing to do.
- Yes, that can be done. Films on Ramkrishna may be classified into two groups 1) Where Ramakrishna is primary subject 2) .. is an important subject. Group 1 will include films like "Ramakrishna Kathamrita", "Jata Mat Tata Path" (1979), "Parampurush Ramakrishna", "Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna" etc, 2 will include G. V. Iyer's Swami Vivekananda (film) etc (this is most probably the only film where someone won National award in India playing the character Ramakrishna.). But, issues are a) citations b) I have list of Bengali films only, I am pretty much sure, films have been made in other Indian languages too (socially South Indian languages).
- We need an Indian library. British Institute Library (Kolkata) has a huge collection of books which might be helpful for these or other Bengali/Indian articles. I have requested to include it in Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Library. National Library, Kolkata is making a large online library. Don't know, when it'll inaugurate.
- I created an article Bibliography of Swami Vivekananda, there was another article Bibliography of Ramakrishna, this one needs some improvement, I think.
- Ramakrishna has been a very very popular subject of other closely related performing mediums too like Bengali theatre and specially Jatra (Bengal). Ramakrishna in Jatra (Bengal) is surely a very important topic. But, we can not collect citations! --Tito Dutta (talk) 02:19, 18 January 2013 (UTC)

Hello Ekabhishek (and Titodutta): following our recent conversations, I've started a page in userspace about Films on Ramakrishna. Once we can get it in decent shape and make sure notability is clearly evident, then we can move it to article space. In the meanwhile, I've put in info about the 1955 film and created a structure to get things started. I mentioned to Titodutta on his user page that as time becomes available, if he wants to start adding info about the other 10 or so films that he has somewhere on his list, that would be super. BTW, on the talk page, I've copied the relevant conversations from the India topics noticeboard as well as this talk page. I don't know if you (Ekabhishek) have any knowledge to contribute, but if you want to help out, you are very welcome. This message is to officially invite you (Ekabhishek; and also, again, Titodutta) to contribute to the page (and to give you permission, since it's in my userspace). The page is HERE: User:Presearch/FaRK. Thanks! -- Presearch (talk) 02:04, 20 January 2013 (UTC)

Hello Ekabhishek I checked out the article on Tagore. But in the impact section it contains nothing about the criticism of Tagore by Bengali or Indian writers contemporary of him. I think it is biased towards Tagore.

Can you move the article Prema Pustagam to Prema Pustakam? Ding Dong the witch is dead
I don't see why that last edit was removed and the page now protected. I just visited Wikipedia to learn more of the social medial campaign to have this song re-enter the music charts in response to the death of Margaret Thatcher. It seems relevant to the current debate in the UK, and this clearly has a bearing on the song's modern interpretation there. The song is currently in the UK iTunes Top 10 and the campaign has received extensive coverage in the national media. Why then is it apparently censored from Wikipedia?
See http://www.doipod.com/itunes-chart/ and Google News for news coverage — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.75.4.251 (talk) 13:29, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
- This message is better suited at article talk page, not here. In any case, wikipedia is not censored and the fact related to Thatcher is already mentioned in the article, so no censorship there. If you interested in posting something yourself, you can always create an account and add the text yourself, no problem, only make sure you have adequate references, though remember Wikipedia is neither a newspaper nor a soapbox, so maintains a neutral point of view, above all it is NOT " not a forum for unregulated free speech".Thanks! --Ekabhishektalk 17:06, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
Citing some sources
I recently thought of creating an article about Maulana Noor-ur Rehman Barkati, the Shahi Imam of Tipu Sultan Mosque and his involvement with Mamata Banerjee but I cannot find any source about his ancestry or personal life on the Internet. Can you help?
- Wikipedia does not even have an article about Syed Ahmed Bukhari, the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid although his links with Samajwadi Party is well known. Solomon7968 (talk) 14:28, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
- You are right, I too couldn't find anything biographical on either of the two, though lots of news articles, so perhaps the career section can dominate for now, preceded by a basic intro based on their current designation. How would that sound? --Ekabhishektalk 17:34, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
- It is indeed very different to find source about any Imam's involvement in politics specially academic discussions due to some unknown reason.Solomon7968 (talk) 17:41, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
- I hope these are the two most influential Imams of India though I have little knowledge of politics of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. It is very necessary that wikipedia article be made of both of them and the coverage of wikipedia on Indian politics be improved. The article on Mohammad Shahabuddin states that he receives funding and arm supply of ISI of Pakistan. I suspect that it is only the tip of the iceburg. Solomon7968 (talk) 17:55, 19 April 2013 (UTC)
- Well, that's how the microcosm of politics gets played out...everywhere. I too do not follow their political dynamics.. --Ekabhishektalk 03:15, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

Kati Patang
Film Kati Patang was released on 29 January 1971 , please correct it. As you have mentioned it in 1970 category. It is purely confirmed from National film of archive India and Film fare from my self. Also I have seen its date of released in at that time of Screen. similar a case of film AAn milo sajna which was released on 8 January 1971. Please check Filmography of Rajesh Khanna and also check the filmfare list.
Thank you...

- Hello, can you provide info on how you confirmed from these two sources? Add weblink to the webpages as references. Also please read following articles, No original research and Verifiability, I think Referencing for beginners would help you understand how to proceed further, otherwise like your recent contributions damage control would be tough. Do not take it personally, take it slow... --Ekabhishektalk 05:53, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hello, Ekabhishek, it's practically not possible to give you or to provide you a web link showing the correct date of release of film kati patang. But I think most of people including you are seems to be believing on the censored certification date of that film, so please don't confused in between date of censored and date of released. For evidence you can check the list of film fare awards which is in itself Wikipedia or on website of film fare awards. Also you can check the binacaa geetmala list on wikipedia for evidence. Also Actress Asha Parekh have won best actress film fare award for Katipatang in 1971.Please do not blindly believe on boxofficeindia website. They it self have given wrong information regarding Rajesh Khanna's films. My self have 100% evidence with my eyes that film was released on 29 January 1971 and get censored in December 1970,so my request is to do the correct needful changes regarding film Kati Patang.
Regards
Atul Talashikar
- Atul, this is not a matter of convincing me or any one, where are your getting your information from? Is it a reliable source, a website, a published work like book, journal, magazine or newspaper etc? And if they can be verified by someone else? If yes, you can cite the source, and reference detail like page number and made the changes.Read this article on how to add references. Further, agreed all the present references may be incorrect, and you correct, but I cannot blindly believe you, can I? Wikipedia does not allow personal research, so be careful if you are adding such information. I would suggest you leave a notice at the talk page of the concerned article as well, so that other editors can see and comment, and with adequate consensus, the matter can be taken forward. Making changes without giving any reference is useless, they would be reverted by any editors, besides me. --Ekabhishektalk 10:09, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- Ekabhishek, I've already mentioned my references please check it atleast film fare list, I think it is one of the authentic web site. Also please check it binaaca Geetmal wikipedia page then you can believe. It's not a matter of my personal front but the motive is to give correct information regarding Kati Patang to the audience. Now I will take a information page from National Film Archive of India and by the way you should have know NFAI, Which is in Pune and it's the only authentic institute as far as any film is concerned.I will not say do the changes blindly but at least you can check it from further web sites or wikipedia page of Binaaca Geetmala. Please do the correction If you can. Also Rajesh Khanna had got the nomination for best actor award along with Anand for his film Kati Patang in 1971 of which filmfare awrds took place in 1972.

- You are assuming just because you live in Pune, no one else has heard of NFAI, however that withstanding, wikipedia doesn't allow circular citations, that is using articles within wikipedia as references. So, if you really want to contribute, why not take the pains to find appropriate references, you have been talking about so eloquently. I have clearly explained in my previous reply, how you can do that, hope you have read them. Once you have the references with you (of NFAI/ any other reliable source), do let me know, we will take it further. By the way, make sure you properly sign all your post with a --~~~~. Thanks! --Ekabhishektalk 15:48, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- Mr.Ekabhishek, I'm surprised that the people like you have no idea about National Film Archive of India which is in Pune from so many years and which is having proper and authentic information about each and every film that were released in India. They have the information and preservative data and films from Raja Harishchandra(1913)till Date in year 2013. I am infact shocked that you doesn't know about this. You can just type in Google NFAI and see what you get it. Thank you, But I'm soon be going to edit Kati Patang as our duty to ive correct information regarding film. One thing I want to tell you if a person on searching about a film ,acot, actress, director, music director, editor ,lyrics about a particular thing a Wikipedia page should show same date of released year. Is it my point correct or not???

A short while back, User:Ched nominated you for the award, while stating that you had been mentioned to him by User:Gerda Arendt. I haven't personally interacted with you, as far as I can remember, but after doing a little investigating, I do believe that, as someone with over 100,000 edits (which you have attained over a respectable amount of time), multiple DYKs and an ability to be trusted with the admin toolset, you have proven to be a Golden Editor. I would be grateful to you.Prashant 07:42, 27 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hello, since these are uploaded to commons using OTRS, I would suggest you contact editors who have been uploading Bollywood Hungama pics this way for long time, for starters, User:Dharmadhyaksha and User:BOLLYWOOD DREAMZ. The article already has a theatrical release poster, uploaded to wiki as Non-free poster, though if you have a better image, do upload it as another version on the same file, after discussing with the original uploader. As you know, posters and screenshots can't be uploaded to commons. Meanwhile I found two related images in commons, one I am adding to the article. --Ekabhishektalk 07:52, 27 May 2013 (UTC)

(from RFPP) I told exactly the same thing here. Not only this article but Pavitra Rishta and other television serial articles are also affected. I have a hunch that either paid editing or bad kind of CoI editing are going on here. I have been thinking to report at WP:COIN, but, not getting time.

- (talk page stalker) I have always suspected that there is paid editing on these articles. Some editors (SPAs, IPs) are of the opinion that if the article has no references, it will be deleted from Wikipedia. Could these be paid editors from competitor TV shows? Could be! If you keep some articles on your watchlist for long, you will notice that some edits are clean washing of just references from the complete article and nothing else. eg Many a times these articles are forked into List of characters, List of accolades won, List of episodes, etc. Could these be paid editors for promotion? Could be! Check the current status of Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev and the one I and Tamravidhir had made which had many references; all from RS and none from forums. There are like handful of articles and i had thought that once they are cleaned, they would remain so. But thats not what happens and then i stopped bothering with TV shows articles and biographies as well. Psychonaut used to clean this too. Don't know if he is still interested in it or not.

- Is it possible that [[Conviction (film})|Conviction]] is one of these 'professionally edited' articles under seige? I noticed that TheOldJacobite was in an edit war with an IP editor over some innocuous-looking edits (classification of film & wiki-link of same) but there's nothing in the summaries or talk page to alert anyone else of what was going on. Hello! In your editing of this article, could you by any chance come up with a possible sourced range of years of when she was in Asutosh College? This picture of her File:Vina Mazumdar.jpg was taken while she was in college, which i guess was in 1944-47. If we know a fixed range, the image could be in PD and can be moved to Commons. Hence thought of checking with you. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 10:13, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
- Dharma, Don't think I have that info, though if you continue to use one non-free image, would request to see if you can find a more suitable image that from her working years, 1970-90s, even later, it is best to remember people thus. She would like that. Only met her couple of times, as her elder sister of our family friend. --Ekabhishektalk 10:25, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
- I used this one because i thought i would be able to prove it to be in PD. PD images are always preferred. My guess is that she went to AC before independence and hence this should be in PD both in India and US. Not sure. Will have to dig more. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 10:47, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Ideas
There is no problem in showing a query in search URL, but you can remove that too. To explain this—
- This is a URL with query http://books.google.co.in/books?id=vdmdyJ-A5PkC&pg=PA105&dq=Mathura+rape+case&hl=en&sa=X&ei=AgiwUcfaCMXnrAelzoDYBg&ved=0CEUQ6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=Mathura%20rape%20case&f=false
- When you remove the query, it becomes short and easy like this: http://books.google.co.in/books?id=vdmdyJ-A5PkC&pg=PA105
That means you need to remove everything after "pg=NN" If you use this tool it'll automatically do it! --Tito Dutta (talk • contributions • email) 09:05, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks..Though I prefer showing a query "highlighted" in the text, as a result, as it makes things easier for someone verifying.. --Ekabhishektalk 09:35, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- O this a good tool, thank you... make things easy!! are there other such tools for newspaper or websites as well? --Ekabhishektalk 06:47, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Category:Women's history
Hi there, I was amazed to see that you've already discovered the new category I just created less than an hour ago! (Category:Women's history) I was quite surprised to discover that it didn't exist as a category in its own right -- especially when there is a Women's history Wikiproject. I guess the reason nobody had created it is probably because we already have Category:Women in history. But that doesn't eliminate the need for a category about the field of Women's history. I just hope we can keep it focused on articles pertaining to that, rather than the broader subject of Women in history. Regards, Cgingold (talk) 06:51, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello. I recently created the article Wynne Paris. I was wondering if you would like to give it a rating, since you have an interest in long-time collaborator Krishna Das. Thanks. Rosencomet (talk) 15:10, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hello, I have done some editing in the article, so to be neutral would leave the rating part to someone else, which would anyways happen in due course. --Ekabhishektalk 16:12, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- Very nice work! Thank you.Rosencomet (talk) 19:17, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- One thing: it says "He appeared on the film album of Krishna Das, Pilgrim Heart (1998), who is known for popularising kirtan music in the West." Should that read "first album", or was there a film associated with it?Rosencomet (talk) 19:23, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
- The Washington Post reference only talks about the album, though if you find a reference related to the film, then that fact can also be added. --Ekabhishektalk 02:07, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi Ekabhishek. Please look at a series of edits by a new user Goodfaith17 in Yoga from 31 August onwards. It seems he is trying to portray Yoga as a Buddhist-alone concept. Thanks for uploading File:Gaja Gamini, 2000 film Soundtrack album cover.jpg. Hi, wanted to let you know that Nemai Ghosh and Nimmai Ghosh are two different people. The article which I created, is about the the man who made Chinnamul. —Vensatry (Ping me) 08:18, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- Nemai Ghosh, was Ray's still photographer (who later made that film) is whom the article is about, as for Nimaai Ghosh, none of the references refer to the latter, who is he? --Ekabhishektalk 09:36, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- I think we are missing something here, and I'm terribly confused since I created the article. I don't think the man who made Chinnamul and the still photographer are one and the same. The movie was made in 1950, much before Ray made his directional debut; less probable that someone directing movie at the age of 16. —Vensatry (Ping me) 16:32, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- Looks like both are Bengali cinematographers closely associated with Ray. One has made films in Tamil and even won a National Award for a film called Paatha Theriyudhu Paar. —Vensatry (Ping me) 16:36, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- Do u have any reference to corroborate, the first Nemai Ghosh did shift to Madras? and same person also made Tamil films as well? They can also be different people, where did you source this biographical info from? Now, I have created a DAB page leading to separate articles or director and photographer Nemai Ghosh as is also an actor Nemai Ghosh. --Ekabhishektalk 17:34, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- They are different people for sure. Most of the references confuse "Nemai" and "Nimmai". Seems Nimmai was the one who made Paathai Theriyudhu Paar. —Vensatry (Ping me) 04:53, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- All is well. I have already created two different articles yesterday...and a dab page.. :) --Ekabhishektalk 09:23, 4 October 2013 (UTC)

INA photographs
Hi,
It seems that many of the existing photographs of the Indian National Army do not meet the free use license. A photograph of an INA parade (see below), which I had tried to attach to the British Raj has been nominated for deletion. As I saw it, more than a picture of Bose chatting with Himmler, a photograph of his wartime efforts in SE Asia was more relevant to the British Raj article. Could you see to this so that the photographs of the INA in SE Asia have the proper user free license? I didn't know whom else to turn to.Sidhu Jyatha (talk) 16:06, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Sidhu, I checked the above photograph and also the another one up for deletion, both are incorrectly uploaded as PD-India, however there is no info on what does Public Domain (PD) in Singapore state,
at least I couldn't find so far. [OK found it: since this image was taken in 1942, it qualifies for Public domain of Singapore, mentioned here - images in or before 1942 are PD in Singapore]. I suggest you pursue this with related forum WP:CQ. You can also check out WP:NFC and Non-free use rationale guideline to check of this one fits non-free criterion and still be used. Best..--Ekabhishektalk 03:42, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
