Disambiguation link notification for January 26
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of wars involving Germany, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kingdom of Croatia. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 17:47, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at List of wars involving Poland. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. You have twice restored unsourced unverified information to the article. This is a list of wars, not a general list of military events or individual events that occurred during a war. Information on English Wikipedia is required to be sourced and the sources must support the information and verify that the entry meets the article criteria. // Timothy :: talk 00:12, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Wars involving Germany. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Category:Wars involving Germany. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Category:Wars involving Germany. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at [[Talk:Category:Wars involving Germany|the article's talk page]].
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. CycloneYoris talk! 09:28, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of German–Danish war of 974
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on German–Danish war of 974 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/399517.Eric_Schumacher/blog. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Hello Docd13, I appreciate your efforts in documenting the military history of Germany. It is a bit unhelpful, however, that you have added numerous entries to List of wars involving Germany before 1806, which has been split off to List of wars involving the Holy Roman Empire in April 2023 per WP:LENGTH. Now there is significant WP:OVERLAP between them. Shall we integrate your pre-1806 edits at List of wars involving Germany into List of wars involving the Holy Roman Empire? Tschüss! NLeeuw (talk) 14:51, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- Please leave the wars before 1806 where they are now, Ukraine and Russia have also listed the Kievan rus wars in it although they have their own article and the HRE is very important for Germany Docd13 (talk) 19:57, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- And yes sure, you can also integrate the wars of the HRE before 1806 to the HRE article site Docd13 (talk) 20:00, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- Granted, I created the List of wars involving Kievan Rus', with Template:Excerpt links from both lists as a compromise, because as you probably understand, they both claim to be the only true real genuine legitimate successors to Kievan Rus'. It was the best I could do.
- Yet, most scholars will agree that modern Germany did not exist before the 19th century. I have been quite generous by still including the Confederation of the Rhine, the German Confederation, and North German Confederation, as many historians would say there wasn't really a German state until 1871 (with the possible exception of German Empire (1848–1849)).
- Either way, the primary reason for splitting part of the list off was one of pragmatism: it is simply WP:TOOLONG. I have done the same with France before I started on Germany:
- List of wars involving Francia
- List of wars involving the Kingdom of France
- List of wars involving France (starts on 21 September 1792 with the proclamation of the Republic).
- Nobody will deny that Francia and the Kingdom of France are important for the prior history of the French Republic, just like nobody will deny that the HRE was important for the prior history of the German Empire and the Federal Republic of Germany. But we need to keep articles at a manageable WP:SIZE. NLeeuw (talk) 21:18, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
