Oleg Bezuglov for deletion

Dear De88,

Since you sometimes contribute to AfD discussions, could you, please take a look at the Oleg Bezuglov article and express your opinion in discussion on whether it should be deleted or not. It was nominated on suspicion of not passing the WP:MUSICBIO criterion. The discussion is currently dead in the water, and I'm afraid it might be relisted again because of that. Thanks in advance! Thanks for your work on this article, and congrats on its promotion! I've acknowledged your accomplishment here and hope you continue promoting other song articles. Keep up the great work! ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:55, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
Wow, thank you so much. I plan on expanding and creating more articles from the Melodrama album within the same vein as the one that received the promotion. By any chance, is there a WikiProject page dedicated solely on Lorde? De88 (talk) 22:07, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
There is not. You can usually check by viewing the parent article (in this case, Talk:Lorde). Looking forward to more Lorde articles soon! ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:12, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
Bummer. I am amazed at how well-written most of Lady Gaga's article are. Very eloquent and superb, even the singer's non-singles (and non-promotional singles) are detailed. But I will say a lot of Lorde's articles have a GA tag so that means there used to be dedicated users who contributed to her articles. De88 (talk) 05:21, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
Yes, there is a small but enthusiastic groups of editors who work hard on Lady Gaga articles. Many WikiProjects are inactive, or rarely active, but there are still some highly active projects, if you enjoy collaborating with others. Wikipedia:Database reports/WikiProject watchers shows the most watched. You could create Wikiepedia:WikiProject Lorde, if you felt inclined, but generally one is encouraged to find at least 5 or so editors who are interested in joining, before starting a new WikiProject. This is because WikiProjects require work to maintain, so starting one just for the sake of having one is not encouraged. But, if you find a critical mass, WikiProjects can be fun and interesting spaces for collaboration. ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:30, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Louvre (song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chiffon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Question about "Write on Me" GAN

Hello there! I hope that you are having a wonderful end of the year. I just wanted to message you to let you know that I have failed your GAN for "Write on Me" as you have not responded to my comments in a rather long time. I have noticed while looking through contributions that you are still active on Wikipedia, and the "Write on Me" article only need to be polished a little more and I could see it becoming a GA with just a little work. I was just curious on why you did not respond to the review? Aoba47 (talk) 05:45, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

To be truly honest, I lost interest in those articles months ago. It is quite unfortunate that I have to dig at incredible lengths to make them informative. I had originally planned to improve their other articles but refrained from doing so. In the case of Lorde, however, I have managed to gather so much information without having to spend days hitting dead ends. My apologies for making you review the article with no answer afterwards. I had forgotten that I had nominated it. De88 (talk) 18:48, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
  • No worries; if you have want to put the article back up for GAN anytime in the future, let me know and I can review it for you. Good luck with your current and future projects! I would suggest removing the nominations from the articles that you have lost interest in to avoid having them picked up for review. Aoba47 (talk) 21:33, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Yes, I just looked at Aoba47's review, and I don't think it'd be very hard to get this article promoted to Good status, if you have any interest in revisiting this in the future at get the "green plus sign" credit. I'd be happy to lend a hand, if that would lighten the load. No pressure, just a passerby comment. Happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:43, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
I would not be opposed if someone took over re-nominating the article. As for credit, the one nominating it could take it. It really is not a big deal to me. De88 (talk) 06:11, 29 December 2017 (UTC)

Melodrama (Lorde album)

Hi. Please don't remove the "accolade" column from Melodrama (Lorde album). You might not think it's necessary but it is a common feature of these lists (yes, not all), and occasionally the lists have different contexts that matter (e.g. it may not be a list of best overall albums of 2017, it may be a "best pop albums of 2017" list, which without this wording, would give a misleading impression). I either reverted you or another editor for this previously, so please take it to the talk page if you disagree per WP:BRD. Thank you. Ss112 08:20, 29 December 2017 (UTC)

I was looking at other critically acclaimed albums, mostly focusing on Ctrl and Damn which both have the "accolade" section removed. I assumed it was okay to do this for Melodrama. My apologies. De88 (talk) 09:29, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
I propose a solution to this. Since adding an "accolade" column next to every publication makes for a lot of clutter, why not simply place the word "pop" in parenthesis, to distinguish which rankings belong to who? For example, Rolling Stone placed Melodrama for two separate lists, the general and pop list. The general ranking would not have anything written next to it but the pop ranking would. I think this is doable. What do you think? De88 (talk) 05:24, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

Visual:

Publication Rank Ref.
Rolling Stone
2
Rolling Stone (Pop)

I don't think it's cluttered at all by having the column there and I don't think that configuration makes it clearer. What editors on the articles for Ctrl and Damn have done is not a "precedent"—just because one or a few articles have something on them, doesn't mean every page has to be or should be consistent. I think it's fine. If you think it's that big a deal, bring it up on Talk:Melodrama (Lorde album). User talk pages are not the place to get WP:CONSENSUS. Ss112 06:31, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
