DYK for List of accolades received by Selma (film)
On 13 February 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article List of accolades received by Selma (film), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Could you help copyedit this. The lead section was copyedited by another user when I made a request at WP:GOCE. But I think there might be more. --Inside the Valley (talk) 14:37, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
- @Inside the Valley: Great work on the list so far and sourcing an actor with such as long career! I do not know much about this actor so I would be wary of myself trying to rewrite the lead. I would advise cutting the lead down to <700 words so that it is a better summary (though with a career as long as his I can see how that maybe difficult) and also to remove terms such as blockbuster, "enthusiastic praise", "superstar". "one of his finest performances" as WP:PEACOCK, unencyclopaedic. I think currently the lead reads like it is written by a fan showcasing all the success of his career when it should describe his film career, ups and downs. I would find it hard to believe that he has been a success constantly since the 80s, there must have been a period where he wasn't doing as well. Hope that helps. Cowlibob (talk) 15:23, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for your suggestions. Cut shorting to <700 word is impossible. But I will try. Because it's already a cut shorted version emphasizing only the major points like first positive role, first song, first award, first theater play, first production.....like that. It's actually a stub summary just like a stub article. Fans will disappoint reading it as more than half of his achievements and turning points are missing. He witnessed success more in his career and there is no "period" in which he found failures. But after 2000s, there were some random failures but will retain success with a box office hit in his next. The "superstar" is not used as promotional, he is actually one. I will reword the peacock terms. But the "blockbuster and art house" in the opening sentence only means big budget commercial films and small budget artistic films.--Inside the Valley (talk) 17:45, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
- Done. Shortened the lead, reworded some. Thanks for your valuable advice. If you wish to suggest more please do so. Thanks. --Inside the Valley (talk) 19:50, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

Editor of the Week : nominations needed!
The Editor of the Week initiative has been recognizing editors since 2013 for their hard work and dedication. Editing Wikipedia can be disheartening and tedious at times; the weekly Editor of the Week award lets its recipients know that their positive behaviour and collaborative spirit is appreciated. The response from the honorees has been enthusiastic and thankful.
The list of nominees is running short, and so new nominations are needed for consideration. Have you come across someone in your editing circle who deserves a pat on the back for improving article prose regularly, making it easier to understand? Or perhaps someone has stepped in to mediate a contentious dispute, and did an excellent job. Do you know someone who hasn't received many accolades and is deserving of greater renown? Is there an editor who does lots of little tasks well, such as cleaning up citations?
Please help us thank editors who display sustained patterns of excellence, working tirelessly in the background out of the spotlight, by submitting your nomination for Editor of the Week today!

Schumy list
Hey Cowlibob, about two months after our first brief chat, I've got back to that Schumacher list you have in your Sandbox6. I've completed the references, and I suspect it's easily good enough to move to mainspace where we can finish tweaking it, adding an image or two perhaps, categories etc, and then take it to FLC? What do you think? The Rambling Man (talk) 09:32, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
- @The Rambling Man: Thanks for working on it. I think we could do better on the lead as I did write it very much as a draft, so could do with tweaking to make it more neutral and more engaging with appropriate referencing. I'll have a go tonight. The table I think is sorted though for mainspace. Cowlibob (talk) 17:48, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

Reply Mad Max Fury Road
Dear user,
As a reader too, it made me sore eyes. You have one link Mad Max: Fury Road at the top of the Mad Max's accolade list, for description, but you copy that link into many which is toward to one link, Mad Max: Fury Road, although that link is in the table. It's very wasteful. The readers also certainly know Mad Max: Fury Road have many accolades if they see the title page, LIST OF ACCOLADES OF MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, without copying one link.
IreneTandry (talk) 10:51, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
- @IreneTandry: On the contrary, I find the blank entries distracting. Since you have now made the same edit across other accolades lists, I think the best step is to revert back to the version that passed featured list and open a talkpage discussion to allow others to make comments on whether it is better to have blank entries rather than mention the film title when its the nominee. Cowlibob (talk) 11:47, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
Reply Mad Max Fury Road 2
Dear user,
On the contrary too, I also find copying link at the Mad Max: Fury Road's accolades list for person such as George Miller, Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and the other crews. It's wasteful, I want to change the link into the text but I just let it. Before I edit Wikipedia, some user use "one person -> one link" in the table, not just me. It means if a person such as George Miller nominated more than one accolade, just use one link for George Miller at the top of the table.
I make blank entry in the table in accordance with the official website of the accolades and many resources, not the slanderous story from user. Like "Best Film", the official website did not mention the filmmakers of the film (except BAFTA, Oscars or Golden Globe), so I edit it in accordance with the real resources.
You admonish me because you always edit Mad Max: Fury Road's accolades list, I see the history for editing that page.
IreneTandry (talk) 12:15, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
- @IreneTandry: No one is admonishing anyone, I'm also not slandering you, such an outrageous accusation. I'm being conciliatory. Also you do not need open a new section every time you reply, just edit the previous section and add your reply. Cowlibob (talk) 15:33, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
Reply Mad Max Fury Road 3
Did you mention me at the talk page of List of accolades received by Mad Max: Fury Road so I will blame? I undo again that page, because the title is List of accolades received by Mad Max: Fury Road, so if there's accolade named Best Film and no producer is mentioned, the accolade is certainly for Mad Max: Fury Road itself. There's no need to write Mad Max: Fury Road again because it is certainly for Mad Max: Fury Road itself. It's very wasteful.
IreneTandry (talk) 16:09, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
- As I said above, I opened a discussion. I appreciate there is a language barrier here but you're being very defensive for no reason. We disagree on something so I have opened a discussion to ask others for their opinion. It's as simple as that. I am not attacking or blaming you. Cowlibob (talk) 16:17, 29 June 2016 (UTC)

DYK question
Hi, i have a question regarding a DYK for the Dystopia (Megadeth album) article, which I listed on August 7 (I accidentally forgot to disambiguate. initially). Anyway, I am not very familiar with the procedure for DYK, and saw that my nomination was up for a second review on the 8th or 9th, but nothing has been done since (I understand that there is alot to do there, so I'm not in any way complaining). Anyway, what I wanted to know is if the article nomination is still valid, or if I need to re-nominate the article (which I would need to to today, the 14th, since I got it to GA status 7 days ago). Thank you--L1A1 FAL (talk) 19:28, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
- @L1A1 FAL: Hi. Your nomination is valid for DYK for newness as it was a recent GA and should not have been blocked by LavaBaron which is why I asked for a new reviewer on your behalf. I could not put the message below LavaBaron's as their signature at the time inadvertently blocked anyone from posting below them which BlueMoonset fixed. Cowlibob (talk) 07:54, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

QPQ Check?
Thanks for the clarification at Template:Did you know nominations/Chen Mingxia. Since the editor/ nominator quickly did a review, there was no problem, but I now realize that I am not clear what QPQ Check finds. Does it find the number of DYKs for an editor or the number of QPQs the editor has peformed?ch (talk) 15:57, 10 September 2016 (UTC)
- It finds the number of DYKs that the user has which have appeared on the mainpage. It doesn't check how many QPQ reviews have been made which has to be done manually. It's not without flaws as it sometimes doesn't pickup all the DYKs, for example for me [[1]] it says I have nominated 27 DYKs which have appeared on the mainpage, when I have had 30. Awards list question
Hi there,
So I've been putting in a lot of work on Nightcrawler, and one thing that keeps bothering me is the awards list. As of right now, it's rather long, and I'm considering splitting it into it's own awards list. IMDB currently says the film won 42 awards from 117 nominations, but looking at the list, I'm not sure if there are enough notable award shows to warrant a split. I just wanted to get your opinion on this, since your an expert at awards lists. Famous Hobo (talk) 21:37, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Famous Hobo: Hi. Hope you're well. Our guideline for that is WP:SPLIT, if a certain section takes too much out of an article it can potentially be split off into a dedicated sub article. I would say that out of the list on IMDB, there are about 70 awards/nominations that would be notable. I recently worked on accolades list which was about that and it's an FL which was originally split off from a similar size article as Nightcrawler, List of accolades received by Selma (film). So I think it's just about big enough to be spun off especially as presumably the parent article is going to be further expanded. Cowlibob (talk) 21:56, 17 September 2016 (UTC)

Back to Nightcrawler's accolades list
Hi there,
I asked you a while ago if an accolades list for Nightcrawler would be acceptable, and you said yes. Well, after several weeks of procrastination and homework (but mostly procrastination), I present to you the Nightcrawler accolades list. I modeled it after a bunch of other FLs, and I just wanted to get your opinion on how it looks. I currently have an FLC up right now, but once that's done, I'd like to nominate this list. A gentle reminder. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 08:30, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Ssven2: I tend to avoid FLCs which gain lots of support and don't have serious issues. Looks like that one is passing soon. Cowlibob (talk) 20:59, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
Hi
Hello there, congratulations on your recent success on the accolades list of Room. I was wondering if you are interested in working on this list, since you have also performed some significant edits in it. The major contributor has abandoned it. Yashthepunisher (talk) 06:43, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Yashthepunisher: Hi. It was on my list. I completely revamped it a while ago so all her films are referenced and the table is sorted, all it really needs a proper lead rather than the awful one it currently has. Cowlibob (talk) 18:52, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
- True. You can work on it whenever you want to. Good luck. Yashthepunisher (talk) 22:50, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
Editor of the Week seeking nominations (and a new facilitator)
In addition, the WikiProject is seeking a new facilitator/coordinator to handle the logistics of the award. Please contact L235 if you are interested in helping with the logistics of running the award in any capacity. Remove your name from here to unsubscribe from further EotW-related messages. Thanks, Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 05:19, 30 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi! Am not sure if you have notice it or not, but the annual editing competition Wikipedia:WikiCup has started and the signup is open till 5 February 2017. The cup encourages content improvement and tries to make editing on Wikipedia more fun; and it did that for me last year. I have hence decided to drop this friendly note hoping that you would take part. Although the signup ends on 5th Feb, the earlier you sign in the earlier you start scoring. Happy New Year and Happy Editing! §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 04:57, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Dharmadhyaksha: Hi. Hope you're well. Thanks for the invite. Unfortunately I am limiting my time on Wikipedia so probably wouldn't really be an effective participant of the WikiCup. Good luck for it! Cowlibob (talk) 12:50, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

Hello, Cowlibob, I was hoping if you would have a looks at this list, which is nominated for FLC here. Do let me know by pinging me. Thanks. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid
- @Ssven2: Hi Ssven. Hope you're well. I'll try to leave some more detailed comments at the FLC later in the week. I don't know anything about this actor. Just a quick glance. Does he have any television roles? The character names should sort by surname. Do check that each reference supports everything in the table e.g. film appearance, character name, director, notes. See if the lead can be trimmed 600 words is on the high side and his career is shorter than other actors e.g. Amitabh Bachchan filmography. Cowlibob (talk) 14:36, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- No telly roles. As for the other two (ref check and lead), will see which ones can be trimmed. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 15:12, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
I have resolved your comments, hopefully, on the FLC page. A gentle reminder to let me or the other nominators know if there is anything pending. Also, I have another list up for FLC here. Feel free to leave comments there. Thanks. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 09:26, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Ssven2 and Kailash29792: Have replied at the FLC. Comments resolved. If you'd like to comment, I have a FLC open Will Smith filmography. Cowlibob (talk) 18:31, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- Ya sure. Currently I'm travelling and will return tomorrow, so we'll see then. Kailash29792 (talk) 01:01, 11 February 2017 (UTC)
Trans_title field
In Vijay filmography, it was removed from all the sources at the request of Vensatry. But the reason he gave didn't seem good and justifiable enough. Do you think non-English sources must have trans_title
fields? I think they should as this is English Wiki, but I failed to convince him. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:29, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
Vijay and Suriya filmographies
I've left comments on Will Smith's FLC. I have two more lists up for FLC, here and here. Please do let me know if you wish to leave comments there. Thanks. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 09:17, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Ssven2: Have left comments on both of these. Would you consider reviewing the filmography of one of the all time greats Alfred Hitchcock? Cowlibob (talk) 21:37, 4 March 2017 (UTC)
- Would I?? I'll do so tomorrow. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 07:59, 5 March 2017 (UTC)
I have resolved your comments on Suriya filmography FLC. Please do let me know if there's any more pending. Thanks. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 08:06, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
Hope you would throw some comments here. Pavanjandhyala 10:46, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
Help get the page GAS
Indigenous Environmental Network has been nominated for Good Article status. I saw that you fixed one of my mistakes not too long ago, and I'd really appreciate if you could help me get it there! @Cowlibob: Gmhardesty (talk) 20:55, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Gmhardesty: I can give some advice. Unfortunately it's very much away from my topics I know of. I would look at the Good article criteria and see if the article meets them. For every article, I would consider whether someone who knew nothing about the topic, would gain enough information about that topic with no bias. Avoid WP:EDITORIALIZING, especially if you have a close personal interest in a topic. The lead of the article should act as a summary for the article so should provide information of each section of the subsequent article. Every statement within an article should be referenced with in line referencing, no paragraphs should be unreferenced. The lead can have no references as long as the information in the lead is referenced elsewhere. I would also compare the article to similar articles which are rated as "Featured Articles" (this is a step above good article but it is better to aim higher). Once I was happy that the article met the Good Article Criteria, I would ask someone at the Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors to copy edit it. Hope that helps.Cowlibob (talk) 21:53, 2 May 2017 (UTC)

Hello, Cowlibob, how's everything with you? My fourth attempt at a film accolades list for FLC. I have nominated the list here. Feel free to leave comments. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 10:03, 18 May 2017 (UTC)
Hi Cowlibob, I had worked on the above list in 2015. This is my first attempt at Hollywood lists. Would you like to collaborate with me on this one? The prose needs significant overhaul but the tables are all properly sourced and the character names sorted. No problem if you need some time. Regards, --Skr15081997 (talk) 05:06, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Skr15081997: Hi. I'd be up for working on this list. He's a great actor. Sorry for the delayed reply, have been away. I'll also reply to the FLC comments later. Cowlibob (talk) 11:02, 29 May 2017 (UTC)
Comments on Birgitte Hjort Sørensen's article
Heya, sorry about the delay. Here are some of my initial comments of the article:
- Lead
- "She has been nominated for three Robert Awards and one Bodil Award." Later in the text, you can mention what roles she got nominated for.
- No free image available? Maybe you can check if someone's made an image freely available on Flickr; if not, you can ask them for permission.
- The fact that she attended Danish National School of Theatre and Contemporary Dance is lead-worthy IMO.
- I see that she has appeared in GoT. Given the enormity of the show, you can mention that in the lead.
- Early life
- This looks decent enough for a GA
- Career
- I presume you still have to expand this. I see that she has done quite a lot of film and TV works, so what her roles were in them are essential here. Plus, whatever reviews you can muster up for her performances would be great. Additionally, if she has given interviews about her preparation for those roles, or how she was cast for them, or her experiences during filming, those should be mentioned as well.
- Filmography
- Since she has worked in more than one language, a "language" column would be beneficial.
- Her theatre credits need to be mentioned as well. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 07:14, 2 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Krimuk2.0: Thanks for your comments. I have incorporated some of them. Career is where most of the work is left on the article. If you're interested in watching some of her work, I would recommend watching Borgen which I think is on Netflix. A fantastic female-led political drama at least for the first two seasons. Dropdown box in accolades lists
Hi there! I noticed that you've promoted many FLs of the "List of accolades received by" variety, and that they have this sort-of infobox that drops down with a summary. I was wondering if you had any special way of making said box quicker than manually counting and listing each award ceremony, or if that was your process. Right now, neither List of accolades received by Kubo and the Two Strings nor List of accolades received by Get Out has the infobox, and I'd like to add ones to them. --Hameltion (talk, contribs) 04:05, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Danielle Rowley, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Richard Leonard (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
