Hello Unknown Editor: You want to speed delete the entry i created saying it violates copyright. I contested it because it was taken from several resources, and the page you criticize as being copyright violated, was originally also written by me (although it is not said there, but you can trace back that I headed the commission website where it appeared. I cannot violate my own copyriight, and I also included the source in the references -- exatcly WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM HERE? If I create an article from my research - delteed. If I create one from existing sources - deleted. Very nice. --Hargitai (talk) 09:36, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
- I've moved this message from the top of the page, and posted a message on Hargitai's talk page. Despite what he says, it was 85% copied from a single source that wasn't explicitly PD and didn't have a CC BY-SA 3.0 Licence Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:12, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
- Jimfbleak, I did not notice it yet (lots of afc+anti vandal fight=too much talk page attention) - exactly and anyone can claim here to be the Copyright holder. Thanks Jim. CommanderWaterford (talk) 11:16, 25 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hello Did you delete my newly created Kira Shingareva page? I did not even get any notice, it was just deleted. I used my OWN text on a website where I DID ADD the creative commons sign. I really think someone of you personally hates me and want to remove anything I create. --Hargitai (talk) 08:28, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
New page reviewer granted
Hi CommanderWaterford. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 17:47, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Rosguill @Atsme Thank you. Could be possible that I will bother you with questions in the near future if I am unsure. CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:53, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- Feel free to do that. You can also post questions at WT:NPR, the central new page reviewer talk page. signed, Rosguill talk 17:55, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- Congratulations, CW - don't hesitate to refer back to your training page. Rosguill has also provided excellent advice so please keep it in mind along with the tips and other important procedures we covered during your training. And remember, the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask. 😊 Atsme 💬 📧 18:08, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Tagging G13s
Hello, again, Commander,
Not to be rigid but you are tagging stale drafts a little bit too early.
Please remember that we go by UTC time, not your local time. I know here in the U.S., there's a difference in corresponding time depending on whether or not it was Daylight Savings Time when the draft was last edited and whether or not it is Daylight Savings Time six months later. Earlier in March, there was an hour time difference but now the corresponding time periods are the same. I'm not sure whether you are located but there might be a similar time offset. It's been helpful to me to have a clock on UTC time on my upper menu but I forget whether that is due to a script I installed or a setting in my Preferences.
Thanks again for all of your work! Liz Read! Talk! 19:01, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
- CommanderWaterford, you also tagged Draft:Elaine Hsiao for deletion but it was just edited two days ago. Please, please, please, check the edit history of each draft before you tag it. Otherwise, you will need to stop tagging pages for speedy deletion, at least G13s. Liz Read! Talk! 18:43, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- I apologize, I exported the Database Excerpt 2 days ago, thats the reason. Funny to see that it is always the same editor who is editing on the exact last day of each (!) 6 months, in a more or less constructive way, whatever sense this may have. But you are right, I should have seen this one. CommanderWaterford (talk) 19:16, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

- Hello! First of all I expect some kind of polite greeting on my talk page. You should read the message better, it says the majority of your sources are not reliable. 90% of the sources you presented are Twitter Tweets. CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:00, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

AIV
Hello, please be a bit more careful with Huggle and AIV reporting. Please make sure that the edits are actually vandalism (ie deliberately damaging to the encyclopaedia; not content disputes, poor formatting, or editorial matters). I've noticed you've made a lot of AIV reports recently and you've probably seen that I've actioned a lot of them but some of them seem hasty and in some I haven't been able to find a problem with the user's edits. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:21, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @HJ MitcheII:,
you will need to give me examples, I do not pay attention to AIV after reporting usually - you are aware that Huggle reports automatically after the 4th warning of a user?!CommanderWaterford (talk) 21:23, 2 April 2021 (UTC) - Figured it out, was reported automatically, explained it at the AIV, I will deactivate the automatic reporting from now on. Your Page deletion
Hi, you marked article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Simon_Chapple_(Langmead)for speedy deletion, it is part of a wider project on Books About Sobriety - if the article contained promotional style wording I am keen to resolve this, I have rewritten and resubmitted. Rather than delete the article I would like to learn to get it right and accepted by you as I have several other notable authors to submit. Please can you provide me with help and specific changes to make the article acceptable. Appreciated Claire.
- @ClaireUK1979: , please have a closer look at WP:NAUTHOR - authors are not notable enough for Wikipedia only because they wrote some books. CommanderWaterford (talk) 09:55, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

page for deletion
hi, you just nominated a page PrOphecy sun for speedy deletion. It is an old page I created that was unjustly deleted (apparently notriety in Canada's 3rd biggestest city was deemed insufficient), so I was re-working it to have it published. What I am really confused about is the fact that I was working in my sandbox while making the edits and had not published it to my knowlege. I did save all my edits from the previous rendition—is there some coding in that that would have created the page? ShouldI just make all my edits now in the page asit has been created? It will take less than the 7 days. BF (talk) 09:12, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

Recent changes
- Editors can collapse part of an article so you have to click on it to see it. When you click a link to a section inside collapsed content it will now expand to show the section. The browser will scroll down to the section. Previously such links didn't work unless you manually expanded the content first. [1]
Changes later this week
- The citoid API will use for example
2010-12-XX
instead of2010-12
for dates with a month but no days. This is because2010-12
could be confused with2010-2012
instead ofDecember 2010
. This is called level 1 instead of level 0 in the Extended Date/Time Format. [2] - The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 6 April. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 7 April. It will be on all wikis from 8 April (calendar).
Future changes
- PAWS can now connect to the new Wiki Replicas. Cross-database
JOINS
will no longer work from 28 April. There is a new way to connect to the databases. Until 28 April both ways to connect to the databases will work. If you think this affects you and you need help you can post on Phabricator or on Wikitech.

Why are you not answering?
When you are just going to delete my message ill post it again. Until you answer me. You are not a historian, you are just an editor what source am I supposed to cite the old medallion of Murtag or his stone manuscript that is not published in any other language than Bulgarian even if I cite that you will still remove it, You don't have any information, I have the information and I'm trying to fix the falsehoods that are currently on display. I removed some text because it is false according to new data. For example I removed that Krum comes from turkic origin not only because it's false and also because you can make that stupid connection with every name. For exmple Attina(Athena) the greek goddess and Attila the hun mean the same thing in old sumerian does that mean Attila was greek or the other way around Attina(Athena) was hunnic? If you continue contributing this way you will be blocked soon. PS: You have no idea if I am a historian or not. CommanderWaterford (talk) 12:34, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

Request on 11:11:56, 8 April 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Patch86UK
Hi. Many thanks for reviewing the page draft. I'd appreciate some advice (this is my first new page creation, although I've been a casual editor for many years). I know the reason for the refusal is a lack of references; the organisation is quite well known and I'm confidant that I can provide references (mostly media/news articles) that would satisfy the requirements, but I'm struggling to think of how this would be integrated into the article. There are for example many news stories relating to various campaigns that the groups has been involved in; but I didn't want to essentially create a "History" section that reads like a news feed! My knowledge of them is also not exactly comprehensive, and while I can undoubtedly write some copy regarding recent campaigns, I fear that the article would end up quite uneven as it would lack material from their older history which I'm not familiar with. I'm happy to keep working on the draft until it's detailed enough to be approvable, but it'd be good to have an idea as to what I'm working towards before expending too much effort. Any advice gratefully received!

Hello, Commander,
I can't figure out why you moved this article from an editor's sandbox to the main space of the project and then immediately tagged it for deletion. First, you didn't notify the editor that you had moved it and why move it if you are just going to propose that it be deleted? The editor was probably still working on it and it could have gone through the AFC process to see if it was a different version than the one that was deleted through a deletion discussion.
Please remember that the goal here is not to delete articles & pages but to improve articles to get them in an acceptable shape. If you see an article that you don't believe is in great shape, please leave it in an editor's sandbox rather than moving it and proposing it be deleted. Liz Read! Talk! 03:38, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Liz, that is not too difficult to understand, i think. If I am not totally wrong I moved it on request of the editor (so I don't have to notify him) and latter I recognized it as a CSDG G4 article which needs to be deleted by our policies - absolutely nothing wrong. Before assuming mistakes on my side I suggest asking before. CommanderWaterford (talk) 08:42, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

Corruption in Ghana
Hello CommanderWaterford. My edits to the Corruption in Ghana page where all meant in good faith.
The listing of activists is broken, caused by Kofi Oppong Asamoah being inserted between Emmanuel Wilson Jnr and the reference for his entry. The reference appears as #31 after Kofi Oppong Asamoah, but has nothing to do with him. I've search for Kofi Oppong Asamoah but could find no references for him.
Emmanuel Wilson Jnr is a slightly different matter, as the reference that should be his is a deadlink (the site is offline). A search for him found articles discussing him becoming a political campaign manager, but only parting reference to activism.
Finally Nana Akwasi Awuah appears a notable activist, but the last three of the five references for her are deadlinks. I didn't believe all five to be necessary (especially as three were deadlinks), as the other two are articles directly relating to her activism.
Do you have a comment, or if not an issue with me restoring my edits?

FYI to you (Commander), Shirt58 and Joseywales1961 re: Annie Soisbault, I sourced and moved it back to mainspace. I have a concern about one of the sources as to whether it's an RS, but I it's definitely out of speedy territory. Feel free to take it to AfD if you think it needs further discussion. Thanks all! - Wouldn't be bothered if you take it to AfD, Shirt58. It just seemed to be enough to merit a shot at mainspace, although I have no issue with initial draftification as there was no there there. There's French sourcing too, but I can't really read it well enough. SOme of her English sourcing isn't consistent, the Wimbledon finals took some digging. StarM 13:36, 14 April 2021 (UTC)

- That's quite interesting actually. Do you mind pointing me to where that's written in WP's guidelines? Couldn't find it in the WP:NEWPAGES. Spyder212 (talk) 19:43, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Spyder212 - You can find it in the WP:NPP policies. New Page Patroller can tag articles for deletion after a waiting time of at least 10 minutes. I suggest next time having the article ready before publishing a draft into mainspace, furthermore it needs more references, currently it is more a candidate for draftifying than for staying in mainspace. CommanderWaterford (talk) 19:48, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
- Only thing I found on WP:NPP is the following: "Care should be exercised when reviewing very new pages. Tagging anything other than attack pages, copyvios, vandalism or complete nonsense only a few minutes after creation may stop the creation of a good faith article and drive away a new contributor. Outside these exceptions, an article should not be tagged for any kind of deletion for a minimum of 15 minutes after creation and it is often appropriate to wait an hour or more. Remember articles have up to 90 days to be reviewed before they become part of a backlog." Moreover, I believe this article does belong to the mainspace. Its subject is a named research chair and clearly passes WP:ACADEMIC. Spyder212 (talk) 20:11, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
- Well, we will see within the next days - right now I only see you are currently developing an article with more than 55 (!) edits in only the last hour in mainspace. CommanderWaterford (talk) 20:17, 11 April 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Draft:Annie Soisbault
Hello CommanderWaterford. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:Annie Soisbault, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: See fr:Annie Soisbault - it would appear she was notable in both tennis and motorsports, and the tennis competition itself may not be itself be notable, it seems it was named after her. - @CommanderWaterford: Certainly, it was a mistake on my part, I went to mark it as patrolled not realising it had already been patrolled (I should have, but I had an issue last night trying to figure out if a page had been patrolled or not) and clicked the "unreview" button instead of "review." Question on article "Withdrawal of Greenland from the European Communities"
Hello, I'm Buka2021. I just saw your message regarding the article "Withdrawal of Greenland from the European Communities". Apologies for the misunderstanding - it is the first time I'm editing something on Wikipedia (for University assignment).
In fact, I did include the text of the previous Wikipedia article in this revised that (including the previous sources), so in the end no information has been deleted. I'm afraid that I should have made this more clear in the edit summary (where I just explained the new parts) and I will make sure that I will properly do that for future articles. Would it be possible to restore the version which I saved around 15 minutes ago? I have put a lot of effort and research into it. Thank you very much! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Buka2021 (talk • contribs) 10:22, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

Hello CommanderWaterford Thank you for your message. Is there any possibility to find out which exact sections did not comply with the verifiability policy of Wikipedia? Every information I used in the article is based on existing Wikipedia entries as well as many different scientific and reliable sources. So I made sure that the entry does not contain original research but is based on existing verifiable information. Furthermore, I also previously looked at all the links that you sent me so I am kind of stuck. Or should I just try to republish it with making sure to clearly describe the edits in the edit summary? Thank you Buka2021 (talk) 10:38, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

Huggle vandalism reverts
Hi CommanderWaterford, hope you're well. I noticed your revert on Katie Piper, in this case the IP editor you were reverting was editing in good faith, so using Huggle to revert the edit as vandalism and warning the editor with the vandalism warning templates is a poor experience for someone just starting out in their Wikipedia editing journey. I had a quick look at some of your other Huggle reverts from around the same time, and equally on 2021 Greater Manchester mayoral election this looks like a good faith contribution to me. Please take a little extra time when evaluating these contributions, and if they aren't outright vandalism consider alternative ways to handle the situation. For example, educating the editor if their contribution is unsuitable, instead of using the vandalism warning. Best, - Kingpin13 (talk) 12:05, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @Kingpin13, thanks for noticing although I do not see any error here - the first Revert is totally unsourced with a reference to Instagram. The second revert is not proved by the reference following. Furthermore the second IP is not a newbie IP Editor, they have a long list of contributions before. It lies in the matter of the subject that IP Vandals are "newbies", of course. If I would have considered them as outright vandalism then I would have report them for blocking. Anyway thanks for being attention. BR, CommanderWaterford (talk) 12:12, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
- I understand the first edit doesn't properly source their information in the Wikipedia-approved style, but that's to be expected of from a newbie IP editor. A quick search Google search of 'Katie Piper Instagram' is enough to verify that what they added was factual. But I think you're missing the point I was trying to make, I'm not arguing that their contribution should have stood or was constructive to the article, I'm pointing out to you that they were acting in good faith and genuinely trying to take part in building the encyclopedia. As such, slapping them with a vandalism warning is counterproductive.
Even if misguided, willfully against consensus, or disruptive, any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia is not vandalism. For example, edit warring over how exactly to present encyclopedic content is not vandalism. Careful consideration may be required to differentiate between edits that are beneficial, edits that are detrimental but well-intentioned, and edits that are vandalism. If it is clear that an editor is intending to improve Wikipedia, their edits are not vandalism, even if they violate some core policy of Wikipedia. Mislabeling good-faith edits "vandalism" can be harmful, as it makes users less likely to respond to corrective advice or to engage collaboratively during a disagreement. For that reason, avoid using the term "vandalism" unless it is clear the user means to harm Wikipedia; this is even true when warning a user with a user warning template. Choose the template that most closely matches the behavior you are trying to correct.
— Wikipedia:Vandalism- With regard to the second edit, you said the reverted edit was not proved by the following reference. Did you take the time to check that reference? The linked pdf does not include Michael Elston in the list of candidates, which is why the IP editor changed the article to say they didn't stand. Again, this is beside the point because their contribution was not vandalism since they were acting in good faith.
- Please take the time to read the above excerpt from the Vandalism policy, and refresh yourself with the wider policy if necessary. Please re-evaluate your actions in light of it, and then apply that going forward. Thanks, - Kingpin13 (talk) 18:31, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

Detained International
Your comments on Detained International, it is a Non-Profit NGO, there's not much to it other than its cases. The page is neutral and well-referenced, the causes appear to be current news from my research and I do not give any opinion. I am new to wiki contribution and a friend suggested I start with a non-profit organisation as subject matter, and the panorama documentary led me to do some research. Can you assist if there is anything you suggest I can do, as I cannot find out that much about the organisation and to copy from their website is incorrect Martin Paul Ireland (talk) 10:13, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Martin Paul Ireland FIrst of all I suggest following the links I left you on your talk pages, especially regarding Conflict of Interest Editing. Secondly you should make yourself comfortable with our notability guidelines for organizations here Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Your cases should not be mentioned in an article which has the organization as its subject, Wikipedia is strictly neutral Wikipedia:Neutral point of view / Wikipedia:Advocacy. - @Martin Paul Ireland If you think that your draft should be reviewed again feel free to ask for it at WP:AFCHD but currently I am pretty sure that no other reviewer will accept your draft for the reasons I explained to you. Please be aware that users who are here only for promotional reasons - which seem to me the case right here, you are a executive member of this organization - may also be blocked. CommanderWaterford (talk) 17:30, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
@CommanderWaterford There is no conflict that I am aware of, I am neither paid nor under any instruction of obligation regarding the subject. Can you explain the issue with the cases, as the organisation is not referenced in the case references, merely the case itself, which has no reference to the NGO. And I note when I check many other Human Rights wiki pages they all reference the matters with which they are involved, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amal_Clooney as a high profile example. What should I remove from the page to comply on the draft I produced, this is my first ever draft, and it is in no way commercial or inaccurate. Are Human Rights organisations unsavoury or unpopular for Wikipedia? Would I be better of to find a different subject matter to start my editing with
@[[User:CommanderWaterford|CommanderWaterford] conflict of interest has not occurred in the post I wrote as my first attempt on Wikipedia and I would like to know how you drew this conclusion please, as I wrote independently and without favour, influence or interest, other than to provide information. conflict of interest is clearly defined in law and I am not sure why you have cited this as a reason
@CommanderWaterford I am not a member of this organisation, about a year ago I attempted to comment on another article, and I had an interest, the comment was not published, I left it there. this article is in my estimation neither commercial nor promontory, and I did ask for your help in what would make it acceptable. I note you threaten to block me for asking for help and denying conflict, which I am sure I could prove if necessary, is Wikipedia your domain to control what you think is acceptable, and if the article is in any way inflammatory or commercial please let me know, but blocking an attempt to publish information on an article concerning information on an unknown NGO which is currently being discussed by the UN and world leaders I thought a reasonable noteworthy piece of information?? Do you work for the ruler of Dubai who is holding the princess? I thought human rights organisations worthy of mention on your encyclopedia. Please tell me what i could do to this article to make it acceptable?

- Thanks for replying. I have attempted to communicate further with DGG, without success. He is no longer reviewing the Ehrlich draft. The draft is now substantially improved, with references to reviews of Ehrlich's publications, notes of his translations, Authority Control including VIAF where records of several works that have been translated into other languages can be read. Surely this constitutes evidence of his notability, if someone considers his works important enough to be translated. Perhaps the draft is not perfect in every way, but I don't see why it can't be considered acceptable. DGG reviews drafts once only
Eventually I discovered that DGG has said in his talk page that he only reviews drafts once. He then leaves it to other reviewers. Apparently he considers it better that more than one reviewer should work on a draft. Before I read that, I repeatedly tried to get a response from him.
What he did was remove some information under Personal Life, and move Ehrlich's Google Scholar page to a new External Links section. But additional cleanup was still necessary. He labeled his work Initial cleanup. I thought he would return to do more, but that didn't happen.
Are you in a position to proceed with further review? And, if you won't be doing so, what else might I do to get the Ehrlich draft finalized?2603:6010:4E42:500:916F:F124:AA8C:9089 (talk) 13:26, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
- Here's what DGG has on his talk page: I'm not perfect, and I therefore do not review a draft more than once--some other reviewer may disagree, and it certainly happens that drafts I do not pass are passed by someone else, and some of them are kept, some deleted.2603:6010:4E42:500:916F:F124:AA8C:9089 (talk) 13:36, 17 April 2021 (UTC)
- What you need to do is be patient, there are more than 5,000 drafts right now waiting for review, it may take up several months, it is quite usual that Reviewers do not review twice. CommanderWaterford (talk) 13:45, 17 April 2021 (UTC)

- Email to the Wikimedia wikis are handled by groups of Wikimedia editors. These volunteer response teams now use Znuny instead of OTRS. The functions and interface remain the same. The volunteer administrators will give more details about the next steps soon. [4][5]
- If you use syntax highlighting, you can see line numbers in the 2010 and 2017 wikitext editors when editing templates. This is to make it easier to see line breaks or talk about specific lines. Line numbers will soon come to all namespaces. [6][7][8]
- Because of a technical change there could be problems with gadgets and scripts that have an edit summary area that looks similar to this one. If they look strange they should use

1883 Buffalo Bisons edit
Hello and good day. It seems like you let my edits stand on that page. All I am doing is consolidating the rosters of the major league teams. The other edits putting spaces between players and pitchers seemed unnecessary and unconstructive. That was the way the rosters were done until an editor took it upon himself (or herself) to change them. That is all I am doing at this time. Thank you and have a good day.2601:581:8402:6620:EDCF:E67B:4F23:62F9 (talk) 20:25, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Shamsa bint Mohammed Al Maktoum & David Haigh
Can you advise me of the position above concerning The Shamsa edit, as you haven't responded to my comment above concerning Cambridgeshire police and the update is accurate and sources are referenced. The original investigation has been requested to be opened, and that is all I have said, I do not make any comments other than to state the fact that an old investigation into a missing person has been re-opened due to new evidence. This is noteworthy I humbly submit. I am not paid, despite suggestions I am, and I am contributing to a number of different subjects and pages where I have knowledge and interest that is factual and non biased I also note that despite replacing a portion of the text on the David Haigh site, as previously agreeable to Melcous, it has now marked contested. The information I cited is in mainstream news and widely republished by many others, and factual. I have not added any opinion for or against the man, what is wrong with the information. I am trying to learn this, and asking for help. it seems people have agendas, I do not Martin Paul Ireland (talk) 08:14, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Martin Paul Ireland You are an executive member of the HR organization you are trying to insert edits and raise awareness for the last couple of days, almost any of your edits refers to your organization. I now several times told you about Wikipedia:Conflict of interest Disclosing and Wikipedia:Advocacy Editing which you seem to ignore. I suggest you ask for help at Wikipedia:Teahouse - there are hundreds of Editors who are willing to help you but for sure they also will have a closer look on your edits so far. CommanderWaterford (talk) 08:17, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
Dear CommanderWaterford There is no mention to any organisation of any kind in the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Randa_bint_Mohammed_Al-Banna so could you please let me know if that is acceptable, and I added a conflict of interest in the drafting, not that I can see that I have one, as I don't know the woman and am unlikely to ever meet her. Are you aware that the Melcous editor appears to be in some sort of dispute with others on the Haigh page, I won't bother to get involved, seems complicated Martin Paul Ireland (talk) 10:44, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- Dear @Martin Paul Ireland - I suggest you submit the draft for Review, an AfC Reviewer will take review it, be patient, there are currently more than 5,000 drafts waiting for a review, it can take up several months. CommanderWaterford (talk) 10:51, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
Dear @ CommanderWaterford thank you for your reply, I am trying to make a worthwhile contribution to Wikipedia , I am a writer and some of the contributions in the last few days are done when I have time to help on topics I know a bit about, I have added citations on pages where they are asked for and I come across randomly. How do I submit the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Randa_bint_Mohammed_Al-Banna for review, I have written the draft, and its sat there, I cited COI, and haven't tried to be controversial Martin Paul Ireland (talk) 11:18, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
Speedy Deletion + Assignment Deadline = please have mercy
hi, I'm new to wikipedia and you flagged one of the wikipedia pages that I have been working on for speedy deletion. I'm a current student of a class where we need to make a wiki page and I just pulled an all nighter to make that wiki page. I'm sorry for speedily deleting it, but long story short I was sleep deprived panicked and thought that I did the whole page wrong. I promise I'm not trying to vandalize, this assignment is just due in less than 24 hours and I'm paranoid from loss of sleep. :) Megananhdao (talk) 10:09, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @Megananhdao , I am not going to delete your article, this is duty of an Administrator which will decide shortly if they are on the same opinion like I am. CommanderWaterford (talk) 10:52, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
Atari 800
Hello:
The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Atari 800 has been completed.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
I found that most of the citations were added incorrectly using the cite book template rather than the correct templates of cite magazine and cite news. I spent a great deal of time fixing the "cite" part so they will likely pass a GA review. The date format is now consistent throughout the article. However, cite book includes fields that do not belong in a citation for a magazine and vice versa. As they stand now both are missing field names that should be included. Fixing these field names is a big job and would certainly be necessary if the article were being reviewed for FA.
There is the occasional standalone reference to the Atari 400 which I assume should be removed, but I have not done so. Best of luck with the GAN.
Regards,

Prashna (film)
Hi, CommanderWaterford! I see that I didn't take proper care when looking at the history of Prashna (film): I had not realised/noticed that you had accepted it from draft, and would not have (re-)draftified it if I had. That was careless of me, please excuse the discourtesy. However, I do also feel that draft space was probably the right place for it – it has no citations, and, like almost all these film articles, contained copyright violations in the plot section, which I've now removed. Thank you for all your good work, regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:50, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Justlettersandnumbers no problem at all although I do not fully agree on draftifying it - it had sufficient references and a WP:BEFORE search showed me sufficient notability. Anyway, as said before, no problem at all. CommanderWaterford (talk) 21:09, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

Why my article is eligible for "speedy deletion" despite being listed the credible sources and is it the language though? Vipinbhardwaj18 (talk) 14:20, 21 April 2021 (UTC) |
How Notable Should A Topic Be
I am concerned at the selection of topics for deletion with disregard for other similar articles. I am new here and after studying various articles and contributing to them I though to also contribute an article similar to other I had reviewed only to be marked for deletion. My article Sanusi Ohiare who qualifies for notability considering he heads a top government agency in Nigeria which have impacted hundreds of thousands of people in the rural communities. Article tagged for speedy deletion regarding promotion
Hi! Reaching out as you tagged my article on Kevin McCloskey requesting speedy deletion. It was my first article and although I took a lot of care in citing everything and remaining as objective as possible, there may have been some things that I mistakenly overlooked. As far as I can tell, I've re-read my work multiple times and am still unsure of which part poses as promotion or if it was tone, etc. Would love to learn and not make the same mistake again so would really appreciate some more detail. Would like to revise in a matter consistent with guidelines and also take notes for the future. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Falvitesse (talk • contribs) 19:10, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

PGA tour is a reliable source, with the E series official tournaments are an outlet of professional golf. Professional wins in professional e sports automatically qualify a player to be notable as per Wikipedia notability rules.
PGATOUR2k21 (talk) 19:33, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
- @PGATOUR2k21 I do agree, now you only need to reference as a Wikipedia:Inline citation the win in your draft. A link to the homepage of the E Series is simply not sufficient. CommanderWaterford (talk) 19:37, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
Don’t know if you will see my talk page, but how do I submit it back to you? Last time I submitted it it went to someone else. Thanks. BrownDan101 (talk) 21:09, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
- @BrownDan101 You cannot choose who is going to review your draft, resubmit it and someone will review it - since I did it now 2 times it will be someone else. @KylieTastic for your info. CommanderWaterford (talk) 21:22, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
Hello speedy editor. You've rejected the creation of this page due to lack of notability. Would there be a chance of reconsidering? The artist in question composed the score for a Golden Globe-winning film I Care A Lot with Rosamund Pike, and many AAA Games.
Do please note that this meets Criterion 10 of WP:NMUSIC or Criterion 1 of WP:COMPOSER Chumpih. (talk) 23:12 + 23:42, 22 April 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for re-reviewing. The rejection reason is now the reliable sources. Consequently a New York Times piece is referenced, and in that piece the composer's inspirations are listed. Chumpih. (talk) 08:44, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Chumpih One reliable source is by far not enough. Please have a look at User:RoySmith/Three best sources - also please notice that someone else will review your draft since I declined it now twice. CommanderWaterford (talk) 08:46, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for the tips Commander. I'll fish around for some more. Chumpih. (talk) 08:52, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- Actually, could I get some advice? I have reliable sources: Variety, NY Times, British Film Institute which are a strong WP:THREE, and while they show Canham is legit, they're not solely about him. And then I have dedicated sources that go into all the effusive, hagiographic loveyness, but they're of questionable independence. I don't think his notability is disputed (comfortably meets criterion 1 of WP:COMPOSER). And I don't think the reliability is disputed (BFI etc.) But I'm struggling to find sources that are both notable AND reliable. So the question is: if this got moved out of Draft, would it get deleted? Chumpih. (talk) 12:10, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Chumpih Honestly.... I do not have any Crystallball, I cannot tell you if it gets to be nominated for deletion or not. But for this reason exactly the AfC Process exists, some reviewer will tell you after checking the sources and the draft - give it a try. CommanderWaterford (talk) 12:44, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- Understood. Thanks very much for the advice, it's appreciated. I'll wait and see if another reviewer can peruse this page in question.
Forgive me for one further query: if there is a page waiting for review for a long time, is it acceptable to suck-it-and-see re. a move to Article space? Thinking in particular of Draft:George Kent Ltd. Chumpih. (talk) 13:15, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

Michael Coles
Hello! I did not agree that Michael Coles was a speedy candidate, so I have removed the speedy. I also moved it to article space as I had found numerous good sources and added them. If you still think it is promotional, feel free to AfD. Thanks. --- Possibly (talk) 07:13, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @Possibly, the article was clearly promotional when it was tagged for G11, now after several modifications of yours it is indeed in a better shape, please do in the future link the article and do not remove COI Tags w/o explanation, thank you. CommanderWaterford (talk) 07:52, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi. I didn't think it was that promotional, it just needed a trim. My contribution appeared constructive to me: the current section names are not explicit enough, they should immediately convey what is the main point of each section. Were they ungrammatical maybe? Laura Londoño English Wikipedia Page (Translation of pre-existing Spanish Wikipedia Page)
Hi Mr. Waterford,
You declined my draft for Laura Londoño English Wikipedia. I created the page based on contents in an existing Spanish Wikipedia page (link:https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laura_Londo%C3%B1o). I only added one line in the overview about her current project, which can be found under the Television section of the Filmography tables in bother her Spanish and the English page (the latter which I translated based on the former). Can you please help me connect the English version I created with the pre-existing Spanish version? Thank you in advance! Please reference my draft English translation page here too (link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Laura_Londo%C3%B1o#Laura_Londo%C3%B1o)
APerez.TD (talk) 13:49, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- @APerez.TD Please notice that the Spanish and the english versions of Wikipedia do have different inclusion policies, saying that only because an article exist in the Spanish version is does not necessarily has to exist in the english one, too. CommanderWaterford (talk) 15:24, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- @CommanderWaterford Yes, but we would like to have an English version, since her audience includes Hispanics who speak both languages. I read in this Wikipedia page that it is completely okay to simply do a translation of an existing Wikipedia page, and I followed the steps found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Translate_us
- Please let me know if you can approve my draft. Thanks in advance! APerez.TD (talk) 15:57, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

- @CommanderWaterford I will translate more content from the Spanish to include more references. But I translated verbadum content in the Spanish Wikipedia page. I will let you know when I make the updates. Thanks APerez.TD (talk) 16:44, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- @CommanderWaterford I have translated the "Careers" section of the Spanish Wikipedia Page to the English, which has more references. I hope this is enough to get it approved. Thank you for all your help! APerez.TD (talk) 20:53, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
- @CommanderWaterford After the changes I made to the page do you think it will get approved? Also, can you please confirm my resubmission went through okay?

How I Quit Google to Sell Samosas
Hello! @CommanderWaterford, I created a stub about a book here and you placed a notability tag on it. I am reaching out to understand why did you do so. As per WP:NBOOK, this books has been "the subject of two or more non-trivial published works appearing in sources that are independent of the book itself. This can include published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles...". Google news search gives a lot more insight about the book and the man himself. I would want to understand if I am interpreting the policy as it should be understood. Thanks! Dial911 (talk) 14:36, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @Dial911, sure - the core thing here is "...appearing in sources that are independent of the book itself." which I had my doubts after reading those sources. If I would have been totally convinced that this book not at all could be notable I would have nominated it for deletion. CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:28, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
- The Print and The Week sources are independent of the subject itself. Both these publications are highly reliable in Indian journalism as well. When you say independent, what does it mean? Thanks! Dial911 (talk) 16:32, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
- @CommanderWaterford addition: these 2 sources are book reviews - like any mainstream media would do. Dial911 (talk) 16:34, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Dial911 You should discuss this issue on the articles talk page, my talk page is not the place to gain consensus about an articles notability. Independent means inter alia not being paid by the subject aka not being promoted. CommanderWaterford (talk) 16:36, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
- @CommanderWaterford, Thank you for explaining. Since you put that maintenance tag, I wanted to understand what you thought. I am not questioning it, just wanted to understand why you did that. Dial911 (talk) 16:39, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
- The Print and The Week sources are independent of the subject itself. Both these publications are highly reliable in Indian journalism as well. When you say independent, what does it mean? Thanks! Dial911 (talk) 16:32, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
Rivalry between Cologne and Düsseldorf
Hello:
The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Rivalry between Cologne and Düsseldorf has been completed.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
You'll notice I have added "Citation Needed" tags following several direct quotes. You'll want to check to make sure all direct quotes are cited. I added a "Clarification" tag after a sentence early in the Nurtuing the rivalry section. I could not work out the meaning. I would also suggest that to an English speaking reader a lot of the "humour" simply doesn't work. I have provided rough English translations from Deepl Translate for any that were missing. I hope they work. Regards,

Contesting speedy deletion of Josh fight
Hi! I completely understand why this was nominated, since it was basically a meme event. But after seeing the news coverage, I decided the event was worthy of an article. It clearly meets the WP:GNG - a short, non-promotional, neutral, & well-sourced article is appropriate. In any case, I've left a message to this effect on the talk page as the CSD template requests. - @CommanderWaterford, I created an article(draft) April 24, 2021 and it was deleted April 25, 2021. I did not submit the article for review. How possible is that please? Digitala21 (talk) 23:58, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
Stuart Baggs
I note you tagged Stuart Baggs for Speedy deletion. I just wanted to check if you were aware that the previous AFD was 10 years ago and there have been substantially more sources about him since then to affirm notability? The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 08:40, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @The C of E , hope you are doing well. Yes, I was aware and i read both AfDs entirely and I noticed that it was an article by you. The only thing which is added in the article right now is more or less his death, the second AfD covered everything up to 2015. CommanderWaterford (talk) 08:45, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
Yes, I'm fairly sure it did not cover his business career or his reality TV appearances. I do believe that there has been a fundamental change from that last one with the increase in sources about him from when that last AFD was run. After all, there aren't that many reality tv/businesspeople that get multiple articles from the BBC covering his life and death. Personally I don't think speedy is appropriate for this due to the increase in coverage, I'd have thought AFD would be more appropriate if needed because of the changes that support notability. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 10:35, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry, please disregard above. It's been cleared. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 10:36, 25 April 2021 (UTC)

Hello Sir, As per advise, I have linked the page with two articles and revised some sources. Kindly see if we can remove the tags. Thanks and best regards RV (talk) 12:11, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
I am so sorry.
I am so sorry about the issues with my article. I was not aware of that guideline before I wrote the article. I assumed that because this was highly publicized it was okay. I assure you this will not happen again. Scorpions13256 (talk) 20:04, 26 April 2021 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion: CryptoRefills
Hi, there was no promotional content nor such language on the page created, which was a company page as many examples already exist. See JotForm page for instance, and please let me understand the difference between the removed page and JotForm page. I kindly request to restore the page. Stay safe! Asking: re Yeshiva of South Shore
When you templated here (and this is not to kvetch about during an In_Use), it gave me a push to do less width (the expression about trying to dance while standing on two non-stationery chairs) and more depth. I just de-In-UseD one of them, and would like to ask you what you saw so lacking in - what some call YOSS - that you felt it needed a SPEEDY. Thanks-in-advance for whatever feedback you give, including, if you don't mind, looking at how it is now. (Beyond newbie, but still much to learn). Pi314m (talk) 20:36, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Pi314m It was left 4 hours without any explanation why this school should be notable for whatsoever. Now it is in a far better shape, since I am almost off for today I will leave it for another New Page Patroller to review finally. Happy Editing, CommanderWaterford (talk) 20:44, 27 April 2021 (UTC)
Page mover granted
Hello, CommanderWaterford. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.
Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect
is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.
Useful links:

- Category:Requested moves, for article renaming requests awaiting action.
If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! –xenotalk 00:09, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Slow down?
You marked Gregory Piper (actor) (current title) as reviewed, although at the time it had the title Gregory Smith (actor ) UK actor - which was a garbled format of title and also used the wrong surname. Perhaps you should take a moment longer to look at the articles you review? (This one leapt off the page of Category:Stubs while I was stub-sorting, as having a totally odd title, and it got worse when I looked at it. And the disambiguation "(actor )", with a space, was yet another glitch.) PamD 10:43, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
- @PamD Someone who does barely 20 edits per day of course does logically less errors than someone engaged with 1,000 edits per day. At the time when I marked it as reviewed it looks like the article was obviously titled as "Gregory Piper (actor)" which is his correct name - I did a WP:BEFORE Search for his name and saw several results which gives him sufficient notability. If indeed the article title was wrong (the logs do not show this up) then I apologise but mistakes can sometimes happen. Have a nice day. CommanderWaterford (talk) 10:56, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
- The page history shows that you looked at it at 09:00, a couple of hours before I moved it away from the garbled title. PamD 11:04, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
- @PamD Yes, indeed. Thankfully I looked for the correct name in the article text and "only" oversaw the wrong article title. CommanderWaterford (talk) 11:09, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
- The page history shows that you looked at it at 09:00, a couple of hours before I moved it away from the garbled title. PamD 11:04, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Request on 12:42:14, 28 April 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Sebastian Wolf Siebzehnrübl
Dear "Waterford", please help me uinderstand how I can improve that page as I am going to set up a page e.g. for Rika Preise, member of the Club of Rome and do not wish to waste your and my time ... I believed the references for Louzis Klein to be respectively dense. So, please help me understand. Thank you!
OH, And I was trying to add an image for Ray ison which he kindly forwarded to me. Also no luck in being able to update. Any tipps or "tricks" regarding images?
Best from Berlin, Sebastian
Sebastian Wolf Siebzehnrübl (talk) 12:42, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hi @Sebastian Wolf Siebzehnrübl, of course - you will need to provide independent coverage of Louis Klein - your sources are all too close or self published ones. See Wikipedia:Reliable sources. All the best to Germany, CommanderWaterford (talk) 12:46, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
Confusion regarding EDP445
So I have a couple of questions for the EDP445 article, 1) There is no discussion page for the deletion, why is that? 2) The article's main focus was deleted, so why did you do that, even though other allegations of SA, even without charges, are written about, see James Charles. So, If you may, could you please put a discussion page up for people to talk about whether or not to keep the article. KENGRIFFEY24FAN (talk)
- Hi @KENGRIFFEY24FAN:, 1. There is no need for a discussion if the article is nominated for Deletion. 2. As explained in the edit summary you added an article with 80% content of accusations - this is not allowed in Wikipedia, see WP:BLPCRIME, so I deleted it. I suggest reading the information templates left at the article carefully and entirely. CommanderWaterford (talk) 14:12, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

Faraj Hawwar
Hello, this is regarding a page in the drafts—Faraj Hawwar—that you declined. I'm not really sure how it is that there are two pages with the same topic and content as I only published one, so can you delete the one in the drafts and keep the one in mainspace? Thank you! Yasmine El-Mehairy
Hi, you declined the article I made on Yasmine El-Mehairy so I wanted to say that I am aware that it mostly discusses her site and not her but that's because most of the information available online is on her website. Having said that, I've added more information on her and removed some points about the site. Hope that fixes the issue! Norah Abdulrahman (talk) 23:09, 28 April 2021 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion
I'm not here to contest the speedy deletion of the Acer Chromebook draft but to state that another reason why it should be removed is because there's no reason to have an article for a chromebook made by a different company. Hello, Commander,
I'm not sure why you moved this page into your user space. Please do not do this as a way of requesting that a page be deleted. I'm not saying you are doing this, but in the past, this move has been done by some editors as a short-cut to deleting a page, moving a main space page into user space and then requesting deletion as if that editor was the page creator. Unless you are userfying a page to work on it, it's best not to move pages cross-space unless it's to or from draft space and main space. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 20:20, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
- Good evening @Liz - ??? I had to get rid of an existing redirect in order to be able to approve an AfC Draft with the same name, had explained it in the Edit Summary if I remember correctly. OF COURSE I am not doing this to simply delete a mainpage articles. CommanderWaterford (talk) 20:28, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
This vandal needs a block ASAP in my humble opinion, his sole wikimission seems to be destroying this article, not allowing that passage regarding his serious injury (where no ill is being said about any of the people involved, just an unfortunate football-related accident) to be mentioned.
Attentively, happy editing --85.243.89.253 (talk) 18:17, 29 April 2021 (UTC)

my draft was declined by User:CommanderWaterford https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Setiawangsa-Pantai_Expressway for reliable sources. so should i add a reference tab and put my sources or something else i should do. im a new editor so idk much ItsTomato (talk) 00:28, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
- @ItsTomato Please read the comments which were left on the declination of the draft - your draft had no references at all while you submitted it. Please have a look at WP:YFA, of help might also Help:Referencing for beginners and WP:MINREF. CommanderWaterford (talk) 07:24, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
You wrote on this page: "(Sources 20,24,42=not WP:RS)". What's wrong with source 42? It's an article in the Australian Law Journal, which seems about as reliable as one could ask for. Apocheir (talk) 02:38, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
- Hello @Apocheir - That Australian Law Journal links to SSRN, which is a preprint repository, which is usually unreliable. Is a more official link available? CommanderWaterford (talk) 07:44, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Crown Racing
Hello CommanderWaterford. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Crown Racing, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Hi CommanderWaterrford. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Crown Racing was about a Sports Car Club of America team based in Illinois, though the AFD doesn't indicate that, and without access to deleted content, your deletion request would appear reasonable enough. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 09:55, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
