Azerbaijanis in Armenia

[edit]

Hello. It is very unfortunate to see you engage in edit warring and modify consensus versions of articles without discussing them first. As if this was not enough, you go on to claim that I have a "responsibility" to justify to you why your non-consensus edit-warring version is not acceptable. The IWPR article is literally cited next to the sentence you are editing and if you could just take a moment to see what you are actually arguing against, instead of edit-warring, you would see for yourself what the article says: "Few Armenians know that dozens of Azerbaijanis died fleeing Armenia in 1988-89 - in Armenia the story is that the Azerbaijani minority's departure was peaceful. And while a beautiful 18th century mosque has recently been restored in Yerevan, few of its citizens recall that a small Azerbaijani mosque on what is now Vardanants Street was demolished by a bulldozer in 1990." The passage from De Waal you are citing is not acceptable because there is a difference between quoting and reporting. De Waal offers no report as to Azerbaijan destroying anything, he is just quoting a distressed Armenian citizen he runs into on the street, who is obviously not a reliable source. Hi KhndzorUtogh, Good day. Pls note that the subject was born in Georgia and moved to Russia and became citizen of Russia. He heritage /ethnicity is Armenia but we dont put his blood background/ethnicity in the lead section and it doesnt matter he raised the Amenia flag or he said he represent Armenia or any other counties - we merely state the nationality of the subject - see WP:ETHNICITY. You can see it has been stated many times in the edit summary in the article history page. The ethnicity can be stated in the body text in background or personal info section as long as it is supported by independent, reliable source. Cassiopeia talk 00:02, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. -- RoySmith (talk) 18:09, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Interfase (talk) 19:42, 16 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction

[edit]

The following sanction now applies to you:

  • You are warned not to engage in battleground editing and to ensure that you engage construtively with consensus building process.
  • Indefinite interaction ban from Aredoros87 which applies everywhere on Wikipedia.
  • Indefinitie restriction that requires you to obtain consensus to readd any content (except for things covered by these exemptions) that has been reverted in any article related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, and related ethnic conflicts, broadly construed.

You have been sanctioned for the reasons provided in response to this arbitration enforcement request.

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Armenia-Azerbaijan 2#Final decision and, if applicable, the contentious topics procedure. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 07:39, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi again KU. The recent AE filing against you has been closed with no sanctions. Per the agreement of the responding admins, including me, you are advised to self-revert when a possible restriction violation is identified (even if it's in a grey area), and cautioned that a pattern of such lapses, even with self-reverts, will result in a tightening of sanctions. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 02:03, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello KhndzorUtogh. Per the administrators' decision, I have been advised to ask you to revert yourself here as your edit is in violation of your arbitration enforcement sanction. Parishan (talk) 03:19, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Parishan, and thank you for following the advice. Could you be more specific about how that edit was a violation? Presumably you've already found the prior edit in which KU added the same content and the intervening edit where it was reverted. Sharing those cuts down on duplicate effort. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 03:25, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Here is the sequence:
  1. 1 January 2024 The sentence "Azerbaijan regains control of all of Nagorno-Karabakh" is added by Anime King;
  2. 3 January 2024 KhndzorUtogh changes "regains" to "takes";
  3. 5 January 2024 I change "takes" back to "regains";
  4. 18 January 2024 KhndzorUtogh changes "regains" to "takes" again.
There has been a discussion in progress since 3 January 2024 and no consensus has been reached so far. Parishan (talk) 03:34, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of flags from Artsakh infobox

[edit]

I have seen your recent edit which undid the addition of flags from the infobox of the Republic of Artsakh page. You cited MOS:INFOBOXFLAG as grounds for this change, but after reviewing the article I could not find any reasoning that would support it's removal. Could you please explain your reasoning behind the change? Thanks. - Republic of Ireland Nintentoad125 (talk) 07:32, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Nintentoad125: "Generally, flag icons should not be used in infoboxes" with the exceptions usually being sporting events. --KhndzorUtogh (talk) 22:37, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
However, almost every good page that has a "preceded and succeeded by" section uses the flags. Here is some examples:
These are all big pages that use flags in the appropriate sections. - Republic of Ireland Nintentoad125 (talk) 07:11, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Nintentoad125: with all due respect, this is just whataboutism. The guideline is that flags are generally not included, and there hasn't been any consensus for how flags would be an improvement. The Soviet Union has far more states listed, which arguably makes the flag a visual improvement, but it is not one here. KhndzorUtogh (talk) 22:15, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@KhndzorUtogh: I understand your point. I just don't see any clear cut non-conflicting guidelines on this topic. It would be helpful if we could get a larger consensus for more editors on this issue. - 🇮🇪 Signed, Nintentoad125 👻 (Talk to me! 🗣️) 07:45, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi KhndzorUtogh. The Arbitration Enforcement discussion you started has now been closed. Per the consensus of the responding administrators, I'm advising you that it would be beneficial if we saw a little less of you at AE, either as a filer or a subject. Please don't take this as discouragement from filing clear and urgent requests for enforcement, but if you're not sure, then it would be best to let others consider if AE is needed. Names of the settlement

[edit]

Hi dear KhndzorUtogh. There is an issue on Wikidata, and I thought you could help me with it. One user is changing the Armenian name of the Q158903 settlement to Shusha on Wikidata, whereas in Armenian, the settlement is called Shushi. Can you tell me what the regulations are on this matter, according to Wikipedia policy/rules? You can see the discussion here: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User_talk:Interfase#Armenian_names. Thank you! Ավետիսյան91 (talk) 02:30, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Ավետիսյան91 Hi Ավետիսյան jan. I don't know about the Wikidata policies, but the name in Armenian as you said is clearly Shushi, that's a fact. If the user still edits inappropriately, perhaps you should report them to the Wikidata admins. Hope this helps. KhndzorUtogh (talk) 08:40, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
