Welcome from EWS23

[edit]

Hello Sɛvɪnti faɪv! My name is Eric, and it is my pleasure to be the first to welcome you to Wikipedia! I hope you will decide to stay a long time and help us continue to make this one of the greatest sites on the world wide web. Here are a few useful links for you to explore:

In addition to that great wealth of knowledge, let me offer you this advice: do what you enjoy! If you enjoy contributing to sports articles, do so! If you like to correct typoes (...), write new articles, find better ways to organize articles, make useful templates, work on projects with others, or even welcome new members, do so! A happy member of our community is a productive member of our community. You can read all of the above links to the last word, or you can jump right into editing. Be bold!

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions that aren't easily found with the above links, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, or you can put {{helpme}} on this page with a question, and someone will come along to answer it. Once again, welcome to Wikipedia and enjoy!

I think you might be right. However, I think it would be nice if you didn't insult me.Assistant N (talk) 18:05, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 20:17, 7 December 2012 (UTC) Sorry bout that.I sent some premade messages & that threw me off. sincerely, Assistant N 17:30, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion Contesting

[edit]

Hello, I was disappointed by your decision to place a speedy deletion notice on the page I created for The Clare Memory Orchestra. It is clear to me that you did not properly compare the information I have written with the information on the website. Every sentence I have written is in my own words, not a single sentence is directly copied from the website. I have provided a simple summation of the activities of this orchestra in my own words and have not violated any copyright. I would ask you to closely re-read what I have written and then compare it to what is written on The Clare Memory Orchestra website and I hope you will see I have not directly copied anything. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Irishmusicfan (talkcontribs) 19:54, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct. It was not the right template I meant to add to the page. On seeing this page again, I hesitate to add the new template. Happy editing, 75* 20:12, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Informal mediation

[edit]

I noticed your warning to User:Hassanfarooqi here. You haven't been involved so far and thus are a neutral party whom he might listen to. He hasn't edited in two months, but suddenly made three edits out of the blue in a span of only ten minutes, attacking me personally in every single edit: here, here and the instance where you warned him. The guy apparently has a history of attacking other editors and makign somewhat prejudiced comments as seen here and here, and I only checked the account's last twenty edits. I'm not trying to insult the guy but this obviously makes me worried that these attacks might continue; I work at a reputable institution, and the guy constantly accusing me of being a member of extremist groups (Wahhabi, jihadi, salafist) could have real-life ramifications should I ever be outed. I hope you'd be willing to simply impress upon him, as a neutral third party, that this behavior isn't appropriate. MezzoMezzo (talk) 08:41, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I will see what I can do.Good lûck, 75* 17:43, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey listen man, if you don't log in that much then don't worry about it. I noticed that you're a recent changes patrol person which is a great service to the site. I don't want to steal your time away from that if you're not a regular user. Plus, given the way things have escalated in the last few days, there is a chance you could get dragged into something; if you or anyone else has a desire to do that then I won't stop you, but I'd feel bad if you walk into that hornet's nest unaware and end up being personally attacked yourself. MezzoMezzo (talk) 03:44, 6 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's okay, I'm glad I can help. I think he might have already tried to insult me, but I'm not certain. I'm grateful for the chance to contribute in a new manner, even so. Happy editing, 75* 17:28, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously? He's technically on a final warning on Wikipedia, along with myself and several other editors involved in a conduct conflict; any of us engages in personal attacks, and it's supposed to be a block without prior warning. I'm awfully sorry that you're being badmouthed as well. In retrospect, I probably should have gone straight to admins first but again thank you for your attempt to work things out - it was not obligatory on you. MezzoMezzo (talk) 18:40, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I don't know who he was referring to at the time.

Glad I could help,

Block message:

Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "PWNinternet". The reason given for PWNinternet's block is: "Vandalism-only account: Your account has been blocked indefinitely because its username is a blatant violation of our username policy – it is obviously profane; threatens, attacks or impersonates another person; or suggests that your intention is not to contribute to the encyclopedia (see our blocking and username policies for more information). We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames, and trolling or other disruptive behavior is not tolerated. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. ".

Decline reason: Nothing to do. As far as I can determine, there are no longer any blocks active on the indicated IP address. ~Amatulić (talk) 23:59, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article Feedback deployment

[edit]

Hey Assistant N; I'm dropping you this note because you've used the article feedback tool in the last month or so. On Thursday and Friday the tool will be down for a major deployment; it should be up by Saturday, failing anything going wrong, and by Monday if something does :). Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 21:50, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your user name

[edit]

See WP:RENAME and WP:CHUG. On another topic, are you aware that Til Eulenspiegel is a Young Earth Creationist? I presume you know about the recent ANI discussion[1]. Actually this is relevant to the username issue, as Tile has two accounts, which is another option for you but not the best one as it can confuse other editors. Dougweller (talk) 08:24, 17 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, thanks, Doug! I was not aware about Eulenspiegel, but I was supremely irritated with him assuming bad faith on everyone, almost. It's almost a cabal theory...--75* 16:35, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Piedade Coutinho

[edit]

Sorry for the criticism, but why are you taking all the historical context of the Piedade Coutinho article? I know the article is about the person, but in her case, she was a pioneer of swimming in Brazil, and it was a long time ago, there is a historical context that should be cited and explained. Your rollback request

[edit]

Hi Sɛvɪnti faɪv, I have granted rollback rights to your account in accordance with your request. Please be aware that rollback should be used to revert vandalism, spam and blatantly unconstructive edits; using it to revert any other type of edit - such as by revert-warring or reverting edits you disagree with - can lead to it being removed from your account...sometimes without any warning, as some admins do not give a warning if they become aware of any misuse. If you think an edit should require a reason for reverting, use a manual edit summary instead of using the rollback tool. For practice, you may wish to review Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 09:05, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
