That's A Fake Poster
[edit]The poster that is being used on this page is a custom poster made by a fan. Levi's Stadium found it on the web and edited it themselves to use on their site. This is a link to the guy's website where you can clearly see he makes custom posters for all PPVs. http://naroto-gfx.deviantart.com/gallery/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.68.94.198 (talk) 11:18, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

Reigns dispute
[edit]To become the #1 contender at Mania you have to win a 30-man Rumble. Reigns did not do this. At best, if there is some time limit you need to enter the ring by and Axel was disqualified, then he only won a 29-man Rumble. The only man who could have conceivably won a 30-man Rumble is Curtis Axel.
Facts:
- Rusev was the 28th elimination
- 30-man rumbles only end when there are 29 eliminations
- Reigns was the 29th elimination if he stepped over the top rope, or if he stepped under it, the match is still on
We should add "or Curtis Axel" to this. Mark my words, it will be brought up on TV tomorrow night on Raw. Ranze (talk) 04:42, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
- We would need reliable covering this "dispute" to even entertain the suggestion that Reins lost the Rumble or that Axel won. Please note that Reins was announced as the winner and that in past years people have been taken out by non participants and that has not caused the eventual winner to have their victory overturned, Seriously, Axle is not going to main event Wrestlemania..--69.157.252.154 (talk) 22:42, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Too much padding with empty content?
[edit]As I currently read the article, it's full of excessive details about various pre-event announcements of this and that (because you "found a reliable source"? Uh huh, sure...), yet very short on details about what actually happened at the event itself. For instance: I didn't watch the show, but I'm reading that Ronda Rousey took part in an angle with Triple H and Stephanie. That is, I'm reading it on other websites; I'm certainly not reading it in this article. Hopefully, there are plans to fix this, as this comes dangerously close to failing WP:INDISCRIMINATE when I compare it to the reports of the event. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 19:56, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- On the Rousey angle, her article appears to drone on and on and on about it. In true marktard fashion, it's being described there as a "professional wrestling storyline". As I see nothing even remotely resembling her signing with WWE, it could be safe to assume that "movie tie-in" a la Mickey Rourke and Chris Jericho is a more accurate description. RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 20:17, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- Gee, thanks. I thought it'd be more marktarded calling it an "angle". Two paragraphs hardly seems like droning on and on, but if can you trim it without losing substance, go for it.
- It's a tie-in, sure, but the things being tied are a movie, a UFC champion and a wrestling storyline. Right? InedibleHulk (talk) 05:17, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
Triple H v Sting stipulation
[edit]@InedibleHulk: If I revert again I'll be in violation of 3RR so I have to mention it here instead and see if we can get this sorted out.
To review, the match was originally listed as a No DQ match. It was never this. It was announced on the show as "pinfalls and submissions only". Now per the four common results of matches, that by elimination means no DQ and no count-out - which is what I originally edited it to.
Now I take issue with the edit summary behind Inedible Hulk's latest reversion. "Then let's just say what they did. That'd also imply no knockouts, no forfeits and no no-contests". That is frankly an excursion into fantasy land. A knockout is technically a submission (see John Cena at Fast Lane v Rusev for instance as well as Hart/Austin at Mania 13), we all know there was never going to be a forfeit, and no contests happen anyway no matter what the stipulation.
Inedible Hulk put it as announced on the last edit. Now that by itself I don't have an issue with but I do have an issue with the wikilink to the No DQ match. Again - that's exactly what it was NOT. It should in fact be de-linked altogether now because there is nothing on the page as a whole that specifies this kind of match. Curse of Fenric (talk) 10:35, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

Attendance
[edit]The Levi's stadium holds 75,000; the attendance states over 76,000. Unless Stephanie was outright lying this is wrong... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.72.204.28 (talk) 18:27, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah it's wrong - via Melzter "The markup was almost exactly 10,000 from the real number. The show wasn’t sold out, as stated on the show. The number in the building was right at 67,000 according to those in stadium management that had the actual number. They had added 5,000 seats the last few weeks so it was set up for 70,000. The paid number should be available in a few weeks." However last I check it's wiki policy to report the fake WWE numbers as if they were real - so what are you going to do *sigh* Winterborn (talk) 19:55, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Have you considered that whoever told you it only holds 75,000, or Meltzer, was lying?
- Not impossible that WWE is exaggerating. That Pontiac Silverdome thing still smells fishy to some (including Dave). But remember, a wrestling ring is a tiny thing, compared to a football field, or even a high-end concert stage. Opens up standing room. All I know is it was damn impressive. Tried to count them all personally, but got distracted by an approximately $45 million version of Shao Kahn. InedibleHulk (talk) 20:01, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Also remember, the "paid number" will always be lower than the actual attendance. The bigger WWE gets, the more people they need to remember to buy gifts for. Those Horsewomen almost certainly didn't pay. InedibleHulk (talk) 20:10, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Let's look at this properly. First off, the WP article on Levi's Stadium states the capacity as 68,500 - expandable to 75,000. Now the first question that arises from this is what does the venue do to the capacity to increase it? Second - how much floor (ground if you like) space is still left? You then have to add the number of chairs on floor level, and I would suggest that would take the capacity further up from 75,000. The question is by how much? I would suggest at least another 5,000 - which brings the WWE announced attendance to within the realms of possibility without being a sell out as Meltzer claimed. I'm not trying to defend WWE - I'm just trying to be realistic and consider all possibilities - including the possibility that Meltzer's information is wrong (that has happened before). Curse of Fenric (talk) 21:47, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- All valid points but if we're playing with that theoretical It's also important to note the massive Wrestlemania stage blocks out a huge chuck of seating which is available for football. As for Meltzer being wrong in my long-time experience of reading him he's very quick with retractions, corrections and apologies. None of which he made on this story. Forgive the lateness of this reply I guess being that we're getting ready for the next Wrestlemania this one came to mind. Winterborn (talk) 00:49, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
- The part in that article that claims 75,000 has no citation. The part below it that claims WWE put 76,976 in there does. People can type anything into Wikipedia. As of now, WWE's the most reliable source we've got. I'll remove the uncited bit. InedibleHulk (talk) 14:14, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
- WWE the most reliable source 'we' have? A company who's president has said that the attendance announced at a show is 'part of the entertainment portion' a company that's given false and often impossible numbers for the vast majority of it's major shows for it's entire modern history? I know nothing is going to change but now and then I like to remind people who read these talk pages the total insanity which is wikipedia grouthink on this issue Winterborn (talk) 09:58, 5 May 2016 (UTC)

Title of Article
[edit]I think the title of this article should be changed to WrestleMania (2015). The event has come and gone and it was not officially branded as 'WrestleMania 31.' It was simply billed as 'WrestleMania.' The logo for next year's WrestleMania also does not contain a number. When the time comes to create a page for the next WrestleMania, I think it should be titled WrestleMania (2016). Grammarian10 (talk) 15:16, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
- The media referred to it as Wrestlemania 31 a number of times so I think the title should stay, if anything to avoid confusion. Curse of Fenric (talk) 23:36, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
- I have redirected WrestleMania (2015) to WrestleMania 31 accordingly (and who the heck deleted the previous one as a cross name ref? Someone wasn't paying attention!) Curse of Fenric (talk) 23:42, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
- By the book, yes, the presenter of a show decides what to call it, and we should follow suit. McMahon apparently thinks numbers make it feel old.
- On the other hand, the referee can't count a pin when the illegal tag partner is in the ring. If WWE can ignore its rules to make things easier for bookers, we can ignore ours for the sake of readers. InedibleHulk (talk) 12:02, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

Wrestlemania attendance discrepancy
[edit]There is some discussion above about attendance numbers, real, claimed or estimated, and which sources meet Wikipedia standards. In a March 18, 2015 court filing against bootleggers, WWE listed the seating capacity for Wrestlemania as 66,060. This is a legal filing by WWE. Here is the relevant online source with the court document-- the capacity number is on page 44 of the filing, as part of the company's March 2015 calendar:

The article is missing this important information: WWE released its 2015 first quarter financial report today, and it shows 259,000 PPV buys for WrestleMania 31, which is down from 690,000 buys in 2014 for WrestleMania 30. Both events were available on the WWE Network, however between WrestleMania 30 and WrestleMania 31 some cable/satellite companies dropped WWE programming.[1]

The attendence is aggressively incorrect
[edit]The numbers on (frankly most) wrestlemania events are the fake numbers that WWE gives out yearly. This really should be changed. If you don't like using Dave Meltzer as a source you can actually just go ahead and use WWE's yearly investor report, published to shareholders. It'd be a federal offense to deceive shareholders on this form, so this is likely the best you can get http://ir.corporate.wwe.com/Cache/28495894.PDF?Y If you look at Total Attendance and then actually do the math on WWE's announced venue numbers, the number in that report is significantly higher than what's advertised on television. You can't actually get the correct WM number out of that, but the number on the Wikipedia page should in some way denote that it's disputed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:603:800:F6A8:C080:6039:413D:8B8B (talk) 15:51, 10 March 2016 (UTC)
