It was miscatagorized as an "MMO", and was also miscatagorized as the media being on physical. Need some opinions on this, whether or not to include digital distributions as well as physical. Also did some minor tweaks to spelling/grammar. Freyar (talk) 08:25, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

One wonders why there is no talk page, and why the article looks like a press release that was later added onto by someone else. 65.25.252.163 05:52, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV edit

[edit]

I've cleaned up the NPOV to the best of my ability, as this is my first major edit. A lot of the article had to be scrapped, as it came across as being an advertisment for the game. The actual meaning of what was there is still present however. Ideally this needs someone to come across who has played the game to a serious degree, but to be honest it's probably fine as it is. I do find it funny how the bulk of the article that felt like an advertisment was done by an anonamous user, and it's rather sad that no-one cleaned it up til now. Note/criticism

[edit]

Universal Combat has also been criticised/noted for an unfamiliar interface and voluminous documentation (a manual of over 100 pages, 200-page downloadable appendix, and 80-page downloadable tutorial).

I think criticised is vaild as a comment. Its certainly not the worst phrase someone could pull out of that article. If someone was POV pushing then why note use the quote like
...Universal Combat is an exhausting, impenetrable bore.

if someone wants to take the time, links to reviews would be great. I think this is the worst waste of 3 bucks I have ever spent on a game..... reviews show the same thoughts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.116.184.155 (talk) 17:28, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. I consider myself to be an experienced gamer. Yet I could not comprehend the interface if my life depended on it. I played for just 10 minutes before heading to Add/Remove. A classic case of where game manafacturers fail to keep it simple. --Simpsons fan 66 07:59, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I bought it for 50p in 2010, i had never heard of it, found a patch that actually made the game playable (cos the version i got on the disk was pre alpha big rigs over the road racing aweful), then found out it was freeware, but my opinion of the game is that its not only hard to get into, and i spent a fair few hours messing about with the thing, its poorly executed and boring, i felt that the concept was bigger than the finished product, and even once you get past the interface nd learn the controls you dont really feel engaged for long and i fouynd myself only staying in our solar system and not bothering to explore further like i did on elite and X3 Tony Spike (talk) 16:38, 1 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
