[edit]Does anyone know of some multimeda player they were making around christmas time last year? like go video or something... I know that it isn't "video now". It could hold photos, music, and video that you could record right off of the T.V. Thanks p.s. Just post your reply here... i'll check for it later. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.1.253.11 (talk • contribs) 17 November 2006
Sexual innuendo
[edit]Twice recently, [1][2] content about alleged sexual innuendo was added to the article. I don't see purpose of including this for two reasons: 1) it's interpretive. "Innuendo" requires someone to draw an inference, and we're not here to editorialize. 2) It's trivial. Unless there is commentary from reliable critics or scholars that addresses it, there's no specific point of including it and it serves no specific academic purpose. It's a random detail that seems wedged in as a warning or something. 3) The other editorial content that the innuendo won't be understood by younger people is both absurd and unsourced. Who says that younger people won't understand it? The editor using IP 86.178.201.111? Inappropriate for inclusion. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:59, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
Years of handheld games
[edit]There's no definitive source for the period their handheld games were released, so I did some Google searches with results from eBay, and such. The earliest games appear to have been released around 1984, while the latest ones would have been around 2005 (I couldn't find any results pre-1984 or post-2005, but everything in between wasn't a problem). I'm wondering if I should incorporate this info into the article. Dpm12 (talk) 13:35, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
Defunct?
[edit]I don't know about that. I looked online through Google and couldn't find anything. It appears to trace to this article, and of course, it's unsourced: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/797575264 Dpm12 (talk) 13:50, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
Althrough I can't exactly source it, the tiger logo still appears on the bottom of boxes for current furreal toys. So, could that be an indicative that it atleast lives on as an in-house label for hasbro? Tinyaliendoll (talk) 06:56, 9 August 2018 (UTC)
I think the "defunct" year should actually be 2018 or 2019
[edit]I recently checked some of the current furreal toys and saw the Tiger logo on the bottom of the boxes is no longer present, so I am guessing this time the company is actually defunct for real Tinyaliendoll (talk) 05:21, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
Action Figures

Tiger Electronics & Quiz Wiz?
[edit]This article claims that Tiger Electronics made Quiz Wiz, and cites this reference, a side comment from a magzine article. The Coleco article says they made the game, citing this reference, which includes pictures showing the Coleco branding. Neither the Tiger nor Coleco articles link to the other so there doesn't appear to be any partnership here. Did Tiger really have any involvement here? HalJor (talk) 05:53, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not clear on why you think a lack of reciprocal links between the two Wikipedia articles rules out the possibility of a partnership between Tiger and Coleco, particularly since the Coleco source you cite states that Quiz Wiz was licensed out to different manufacturers in different territories. Moreover, note that the EGM article is dated 1994 and says the Quiz Wiz is still on the market. Since Coleco closed down in 1989, that means Coleco couldn't have been the Quiz Wiz's U.S. manufacturer for its entire lifespan. It's therefore very plausible that Tiger Electronics bought the Quiz Wiz product line when Coleco shut down if not earlier, though sadly I have no source at hand which could confirm this. I'll have to keep an eye out. Martin IIIa (talk) 02:00, 26 October 2023 (UTC)
