Links and sourcing
[edit]A previous version of this page included a dead end banner that recommended adding Wikipedia links. I added a Wikipedia link to Ingress and removed the banner, but much more work is needed for sourcing and linking on this page. Jodayagi (talk) 19:20, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- At present, the current page reads like a most of the promotional material about the Ingress game. There was enough media coverage on both Field Trip and Ingress, as well as Niantic Labs, when the games were launched that this could be sourced better to read more objectively.
- [Disclosure: I am a new player to Niantic Lab's Ingress game, but I promise to abide by Wikipedia's guidelines and strive for objectivity in my editing.] Jodayagi (talk) 22:28, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
Name change
[edit]The name "Niantic labs" should be changed to "Niantic Labs," since it is the proper name of a company. I will make the change once I am allowed to do so under Wikipedia's guidelines (I need to make several more edits, I believe). Jodayagi (talk) 21:51, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- Issue resolved. Page moved from "Niantic labs" to "Niantic Labs" in order to solve capitalization error. Jodayagi (talk) 22:37, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- Coming back to this, but are there any valid reasons why the article name is Niantic, Inc., instead of the vastly more WP:COMMONNAME of simply Niantic? Even during the Pokemon Go craze last summer, most articles referred to the company as Niantic Labs instead of Niantic, Inc., which they are no longer called. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 11:25, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
Article lead
[edit]I added a one-sentence summary for the article lead. Better sourcing/references/citation are needed to bring this page into further compliance with Wikipedia guidelines. Jodayagi (talk) 19:15, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
Content sections: The Niantic Project
[edit]This section is empty. It should either be deleted, and/or moved to the "Projects" section where it can be expanded upon. Jodayagi (talk) 19:30, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
Content sections: Origins and Name
[edit]As the editing of this article continues, it might be better to merge these two sections under a new heading entitled, "History." Jodayagi (talk) 19:33, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
- Whoever reads this little gem: This article, in toto, reads like it was written by the victor. The game Ingress, specifically, is of historical importance beyond these pages - and is not described or discussed even in passing. Fail; lol.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.214.233.41 (talk • contribs)
- It is mentioned 34 times and has a full section here, along with its own article. Not clear what your expectations are. Kuru (talk) 12:24, 29 August 2021 (UTC)

Wikipedia page for Peridot
[edit]Good evening Wikipedia Writers could you create a Wikipedia Page for Peridot, when it will be available? Voltexpoint (talk) 20:14, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
Controversy section
[edit]Should there be a mention of the backlash over Pokemon Go avatar changes and the Peridot nest backlash? 2601:244:4601:90B0:2DF8:A41F:9F40:4A72 (talk) 05:49, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- Were these notable enough to warrant articles in some WP:RS? If not, the answer is no. If they were, it could be mentioned, but not here. Pokemon Go has its own page, which that would be better suited for. ASpacemanFalls (talk) 08:05, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
