Jayden Daniels

I have to say that I am very impressed with the work you have done on Jayden's article. It is definetely an example of what an article should look like if proper care is given. Thanks for the kind words! I've been working on his article since the end of last season as I had a feeling he would both be the draft pick. I (and many others) just hadn't expected him or the rest of the team to be breaking records just one month into the first year of a rebuild. I believe I have a tendency to overedit but being recognized for quality work makes it all worth it (it's undergoing a GA review now), especially with the increasing attention on his article. The refreshing novelty of the entire organization since it was sold by Snyder has resparked the joy (and editing interest) in the team. Basketball stats links

Hi there. I saw you changed the link format at {{Infobox basketball biography}}, moving the link off the word "Stats". Do you mind reverting that portion back? Looking at the templates at Category:Social media external link templates, the standard is not to have the link attached to the site name. It seems more intuitive to click "Stats" to get the stats. Sure, and thanks for sprucing things up at the NFL ibx. Just a note, that the hoops ibx is template protected, so technically WP:TPECON applies. I just realized that linking to "Stats at" isn't really possible if both NBA.com and BR links are provided on a single line. We could consider this a practical exception unless there is MOS guideline/consensus against this, but it seemed like nobody ever had an issue with the way it was done on the NFL infobox. ~ Dissident93 ^(talk) 16:35, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please test your edits in template and module sandboxes

In less than 24 hours, you have broken Module:College color and Template:Infobox NFL biography. We all have bad days; I get it. But you are breaking things on the live version of Wikipedia, visible to the entire world. Pardon my ignorance, but I was unable to get a testcase working for the college color module since it seemingly works differently with that than a template or I would have obviously been doing so. Is this a permissions issue or something? You are responsible for your edits. I linked to at least one broken page in my edit summary at Module:College color, and others have linked to broken pages from the talk page. If you can't figure out how to use a testcases page, then at a minimum, make a list of pages that are known to be affected and check those pages after you make changes to the module. Also, always fill in the edit summary field when you edit a template or module page. To avoid accidentally leaving edit summaries blank, registered editors can select "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" on the Editing tab of the user preferences. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:58, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

'Madhouse in Maryland' vs. 'Hail Maryland'

Happy victory Monday,

I wanted to approach you (since you're more of a Wikipedia/article creation vet than I) regarding the potential name change of the Madhouse in Maryland article to Hail Maryland. It seems that the second of the two is gaining more traction on social media and has been used by notable media presences, including Bill Simmons in The Ringer and in ESPN daily coverage, including the Unsportsmanlike with Evan, Canty, and Michelle podcast. I understand the title follows that of the call by Jim Nantz when he stated that it was a "madhouse in Landover, Maryland", but do you personally think that this article name change could gain traction? The name seems to be all over the place and one really hasn't taken off yet. If I had to personally pick one I think "Hail Maryland" or "Noah's Arc" are the best of the ones I've seen, but we'd need more than two sources to change the page name (which is derived from the call itself). Thanks for your work as of late cleaning up the infoboxes. I have a somewhat-related question for you. What is your opinion on the hockey infobox? Examples: Wayne Gretzky, Alexander Ovechkin ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 17:28, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As it's formatted a bit differently than the others, I've left it alone for now since it would probably require stronger consensus and work to bring it more inline with the other three I've worked on. It could definitely use team colors though, but I'm less familiar with Lua (for the module) than Wikitext so I tend to leave those alone. ~ Dissident93 ^(talk) 17:38, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply, not asking you to do anything (historically, there has been a lot of pushback from WikiProject Ice Hockey about adding anything to the infobox). The hockey infobox doesn't even have year spans for the teams (it's in the table of contents I guess though). Also, Alexander Ovechkin's Stanley Cup win is buried in the 14th row of the honors table and All-Star selections are under EA Sports cover athlete (lol). And I can't even tell how many Stanley Cups Wayne Gretzky won. He doesn't even have an honors section, there's only a link to List of career achievements by Wayne Gretzky in the "Legacy" section. I can't really blame them for having the infobox like that though, at least when there's nothing in the infobox, you don't have to argue about what to include. Question about Dates for NFL pages

Hey there. I saw a recent edit of yours where you state that the year should be listed, "even if it seems obvious". I have not been adding the year in the case that the change occurs in the same calendar year, season, and for the same team. Example - A player is signed to a team December 1st and then cut December 31st, I would not put 2024, on the second update. Is this incorrect? Thanks!
