Splitting proposal
[edit]This article exceeds Wikipedia's template size limit. The Wikimedia software cannot expand the sections that build the table beyond the year 2021. Therefore, the page must be divided. The question is where. I think the obvious answer is that the listings here should stop at 2013, since there was a pause from mid-2013 to mid-2015. Then another page should start with 2015. I would do this myself, but I don't know anything about this topic, and I think the header explanatory material that would be required for the the new List of downloadable songs for the Rock Band series (2015–present) could be better written by someone else. I don't anticipate any dispute on this, so, after a few days, if nobody objects, will someone please split this article? Anomalocaris (talk) 04:18, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
Looping in Isaidnoway, Jonese95, POWERStarz2004 the 2nd, Masem, Percivl, Binksternet, TheBuddy92, StarTrekker —Anomalocaris (talk) 08:36, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
- This sounds good and is a logical decision - the DLC run from 2007-2013 is considered the "original" DLC run, spanning the release of Rock Band 1 to the end of Rock Band 3 DLC support, then the 2015-2024 run is exclusively Rock Band 4 DLC. For now, we can probably just port over the same intro paragraphs to the second page and make slight adjustments later (maybe make those paragraphs more focused on the Rock Band 4 era). Percivl (talk)
- I'd support. List is bonkers long as of now.★Trekker (talk) 14:39, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
- I've found this page really helpful, and being able to ctrl+f through all of the DLC at once is something I've found very convenient. Is there really no other solution? If you must split the article I suggest it would be more useful to split instead by supported games, 1-2 DLC, 3 DLC (starting at Light My Fire), and then 4 DLC (starting at My Own Eyes). (I felt compelled to comment because a previous commenter was incorrect about 2015 onward being exclusively RB4 DLC.)47.55.43.211 (talk) 03:41, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- yeah, I second this. If it's unable to just have the article split on the same page divided by the different games, it should be divided into different pages based on the game generation that the dlc released on/for.
- The whole point and usefulness of this page is having the whole list accessible at one look with ctrl+f. It's going to be absolutely useless if it's split into multiple pages. 2600:8804:B80:F400:3439:EACF:74D6:DE83 (talk) 01:15, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think it would be better for there to just figure out how to save space when it comes to the individual templates. For example, the Pro instrument support/Family Friendly indicators haven't been relevant to DLC since Rock Band 3 and so two entire rows have thousands of blank entries.
