[edit]Does anyone else think we should move GF2 onto its own page? The original Kingsoft Gravity Force was rather obscure as I recall, played only by bored kids in Sweden. In fact, its only significance seems to have been that it inspired the unofficial sequel. I've refrained in the past to adding more GF2 related info because it's not directly relevant to Gravity Force, but I think a seperate GF2 page could be a more fitting tribute to the 2nd best Amiga game of all time! - I fixed this by making a series out of it. cheers Shaddim (talk) 19:27, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
Intention to resurrect this article
[edit]Hi User:IceWelder - continuing conversation from Talk:Kingsoft_GmbH... I agree with you that the connection to Kingsoft is weak, but I disagree that the game was not notable (I noticed it was you who nominated for deletion). I can see that the article as-was was sparsely sourced, but there are several additional sources that I think could be used to establish notability, namely: 1) the review and several mentions in Amiga Format issue 70, 2) the "1001..." book (which was actually cited in the original article), 3) the article in the http://generation500.com/ book (albeit I don't speak Swedish), 4) And of course the advocacy of Amiga Power that led to the third game. Would you object to me bringing the article back and trying to fix it? Barnards.tar.gz (talk) 23:09, 5 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hi User:IceWelder and others - I have now located several print sources (and translations thereof) and have used them to resurrect the article with greatly improved citation coverage. I have also updated several redirects to point here rather than to Kingsoft. I hope that the notability of the game series is now beyond doubt, and that the concerns raised in the original nomination for deletion have now been resolved.
