Google Stadia → Stadia – In previous RMs, editors argued that Stadia is not the primary topic of "stadia". After examining this claim, I do not believe this is true — and it has nothing to do with recentism. Of the seven articles listed at Stadia (disambiguation), only one is actually titled "Stadia", Stadia (Caria). Two articles, Stadium and Stadion (unit), have "stadia" down as the plural form. "Stadiums" is vastly more common than "stadia", and almost all major dictionaries list it before "stadia": [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10] (the OED was the only outlier). Stadion (unit) and Stadia (Caria) are both stubs about ancient topics, so they are clearly not as notable. As for the remaining articles, Stadia mark, Stadiametric rangefinding, and Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia, all three are WP:PARTIAL title matches that can't even be abbreviated as "stadia" and should arguably be removed from the DAB page.So, really, recentism doesn't come into play since there is nothing else that is commonly referred to as "stadia", and no one really says "stadia" when talking about sports (including us). Google Stadia has received more than double the pageviews received by the six other articles combined, and that is data since 2015, when Stadia did not exist. In addition to WP:CONCISE and WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, this also solves the problem of "Google Stadia" being an incorrect name some publications made up. Oppose Given that Stadia is a dead brand, it no longer will have increased PRIMARYTOPIC aspects over the other terms at the disambiguation page. Further, its still better known as "Google Stadia" even if the official product name is just Stadia Masem (t) 04:58, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As I have explained above at great length, it's not that Stadia is more notable than other notable uses of "stadia". It's that Stadia is the only notable use of "stadia". The rest are either partial title matches or non-notable stubs. Also, over a year after its death, it's still averaging 902 views per day. Oppose stadia is the plural of stadion (unit) (or latinized as "stadium"), a unit of measure with historical long term significance. This dead platform does not have long term significance. The common name is "Google Stadia". The state of the article does not make it non-notable, only that people aren't putting in effort. The fact that the unit is commonly used and commonly appears in modern works that talk about sizes and distances of ancient structures and places, makes it a significant unit. -- 65.92.247.66 (talk) 20:46, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is the fifth request to move the page - if it was clear I don't think such a request would be made. Even with previous requests to move this page to Stadia (streaming service), it almost seems like complete disregard. This is like Apple iPhone which eventually got moved to iPhone.
The common name is "Stadia", as outlined by the list of sources above. Keep in mind that WP:HEADLINEs are not considered reliable sources; many of the sources linked in the previous RM only use "Google Stadia" in the headline, for SEO purposes.
