Signups open for The Core Contest
[edit]The Core Contest—Wikipedia's most exciting contest—will take place this year from April 15 to May 31. The goal: to improve vital or other core articles, with a focus on those in the worst state of disrepair. Editing can be done individually, but in the past groups have also successfully competed. There is £300 of prize money divided among editors who provide the "best additive encyclopedic value". Signups are open now. Cheers from the judges, Femke, Casliber, Aza24.
If you wish to start or stop receiving news about The Core Contest, please add or remove yourself from the delivery list.

[edit]Pictures of eponyms of graphics processor microarchitectures
[edit]An IP editor seems to be on a persistent campaign to remove the pictures of eponyms of Nvidia microarchitectures from all the microarchitecture articles. They appear to be doing a second sweep of the articles. I will assume good faith and not suggest that this is due to some issue with the people pictured and is simply a formatting and content disagreement.
What is the feeling here whether these articles should have such photos in some form or not? I will also notify Wikipedia:Wikiproject Computing and Wikipedia:Wikiproject Biography. —DIYeditor (talk) 06:09, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- The eponym photo is already available in its own page and it is used in the thumbnail incorrectly. These photos are not the official Nvidia ones. Let's remove them. 90.167.202.52 (talk) 06:28, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- I don't believe Nvidia has licensed us any such photos, if photos/logos for the microarchitectures even exist. I think you may have some confusion about what the pictures are in the articles, perhaps due to viewing them on a mobile device? They are not "the thumbnail" for the article, they are merely the first picture that exists. Other pictures are possible, including in a different order. There's no reason to remove them outright. —DIYeditor (talk) 06:48, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- It is confusing to see a picture of a person that was not involved in the product development. We should add a picture of the main product manager instead. 84.78.242.26 (talk) 07:47, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
- Again, it is not necessary to completely remove the image. If other pictures are inserted it can be in addition to these, or in a different order. —DIYeditor (talk) 13:51, 12 August 2024 (UTC)

Serve Robotics AfC Draft Review
[edit]Hi there. I'm wondering if any editors at this WikiProject would be interested in reviewing my AfC draft for Serve Robotics. I was very careful to write in a neutral, encyclopedic style and only cite high-quality sources (e.g., TechCrunch, VentureBeat, Bloomberg, The Verge, and Quartz). The draft was immediately declined and I would appreciate a thoughtful review from editors familiar with the subject area (namely, robotics and technology), particularly to (a) assess whether they think Serve is notable and (b) ensure that I'm updating the draft in the right way before trying again, as I don't want to keep hitting a brick wall and wasting editors' time. To me, the "written like an advertisement" tag seems unwarranted, but there may be something I'm missing and I'd welcome feedback from others. Thank you! ServeAduke (talk) 18:00, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
