Spoiler Tag
[edit]WOAH spoiler much? Put in a spoiler tag, some people like to read the 'plot trials' as a synopsis just to see what they're about before buying a game, they dont want it to be spoiled, especially whne the spoiler is in just ONE line thats stupid. Case 1: Synopsis: Kristoph was the killer Completely missing out any other details, good job Ace attorney wiki! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.129.198.151 (talk) 23:54, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- WP:SPOILER stipulates that spoiler tags are not used on Wikipedia anymore. Further, plot details usually do not hold any encyclopedic value (see WP:PLOTSUM). ɳOCTURNEɳOIR talk // contribs 00:08, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Plot
[edit]I think the plot is about as succient and clear as it could possibly get. Thoughts? hbdragon88 (talk) 22:12, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
New Gameplay Elements
[edit]So under this section it says 'the game also includes a "Crime Recreation Mode" that "allows players to reveal hidden clues by re-creating the scene of the crime."' This is stated on the official Apollo Justice website as well (ace-attorney.com) But there's nothing actually in the game where you get to recreate the scene of the crime, just some gimmicky things like taking footprint samples and x-raying envelopes. Perhaps this should be changed? 24.255.172.40 (talk) 04:11, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- Um, there are crime scene recreations. You remember the short bits in the first and second cases? (turning around Smith's chair, etc.)—Loveはドコ? (talk • contribs) 04:28, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Citations in the Soundtrack
[edit]Should the English names of some of the songs in the OST really be listed in Japanese, and then cited to the English name? Shouldnt the English just be listed alongside the Japanese? For example "Minuki’s Theme (Trucy's Theme) ~ Magical Girl" or "Minuki/Trucy's Theme ~ Magical Girl", something like that. Mackay64 (talk) 23:14, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
- That's somewhat...unattractive. No offense.—Loveはドコ? (talk • contribs) 00:42, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Gs4ost.jpg
[edit]The image Image:Gs4ost.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Reception
[edit]The Reception section is terribly out of date - it doesn't discuss anything but the very first review it ever had and its Japanese sales. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 20:23, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

- As it stands, the reception section is extremely negative - it seems to be trying to force the notion that it was very poorly received in the United States. IGN must have had something they liked about it, or else they wouldn't have given it an 8.3/10 or nominated it for best story. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! - Sorry about that. Was not intentional, but that's what happens when only one user writes a section. My point was that the game was less well-received in the US, which is quite true, but I may have worded it too strongly. That, and I'm used to playing games that receive 80%-90%s, so I don't really see scores in the 70%s, heh. Thanks for the fixes and the checkup! NOCTURNENOIR ( t • c ) 05:52, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Do you think that the TopTenReviews link for this game should go in the Reception chart? After all, the game got a score of 3.22 out of 4. --Angeldeb82 (talk) 22:58, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
- I personally think the VGcharts should only contain very central review scores, and TopTenReviews doesn't seem to often be used on WP:VG FAs and GAs, so I would probably say no. I don't know about anybody else though. NocturneNoir : Chat 00:00, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Better gameplay image?
[edit]I think a better gameplay image could be used - the gameplay image demonstrates the art style, but so does the box art. A better image would be one that demonstrates its use of 3D, and maybe the touch screen as well. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 05:27, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
- I think that an image featuring the unique to the game "percieve system" would be a good idea.--ZXCVBNM (TALK) 03:38, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- I was unable to locate an image of either through the normal methods; I scoured the internet and gaming review services for them and was unable to locate any. I did a pretty thorough search, though I invite others to try as well. ɳOCTURNEɳOIR talk // contribs 04:29, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
I removed this - feel free to put it back in if you find a reliable source supporting it.
[edit]I removed the following from the article, as I cannot find it mentioned in any reliable sources at all. I'm leaving it here on the talk page so that anyone who wants to search for sources know about it. Originally it was on the English Apollo Justice dev blog, which was located at http://ace-attorney.com . However, it's no longer available, and can't even be reached via the Wayback machine.
The second story of the game, "Turnabout Corner," was a story that Shu Takumi had come up with ten years ago when he initially joined Capcom.

Takumi's involvement
[edit]So, apparently Takumi is not listed as a writer in the game's credits, leading ShinyLinoone to remove the claim that he was the writer. However, Gamasutra interviewed the game's producer, Matsukawa, who said the following:
Interviewer: [Inaba and Mikami] wrote a lot of the scenario too, right?
Matsukawa: Actually, the scenario was written by Shu Takumi for all of the games, including Ace Attorney 4.
I don't know why Takumi isn't credited for the writing - entirely speculation, but perhaps it's related to how he was against the production of a fourth Ace Attorney game in the first place - but I don't see why we shouldn't trust an interview with the game's producer, done by a reputable site like Gamasutra, where she specifically says that Takumi wrote Apollo Justice. I will make a post on the video game wikiproject and ask for more opinions.--IDVtalk 20:13, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
- I agree completely. Its a reliable source that asks a developer point blank a question that they would have the authority and knowledge to answer. I'd include all three - the one's credited in the game may have still contributed or rewritten his work too. Sergecross73 msg me 20:21, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
- My apologies. I went solely off of what the credits to the game said. I always did find it confusing as a Scenario Writer was not listed in the credits, only two Planners. If this interview is reputable, and I don't see why it wouldn't be, Takumi should actually be listed as the only writer of the game because Planners are not normally listed as writers on Wikipedia, at least within the Ace Attorney series. I am sorry for any trouble I caused. ShinyLinoone (talk) 20:28, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
- Nobody is credited with writing in the game. Unless planning = writing in Japanese video game credits? Yamazaki and Yamakawa are not credited as writers in the game, they are credited as planners. Takumi is credited as original creator and series director which doesn't necessarily invalidate a writing credit. If a reliable source supports Takumi's involvement then he should be listed. --The1337gamer (talk) 20:34, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
- @ShinyLinoone: It wasn't really any trouble at all. It's good to discuss things when there might be some uncertainties. Anyway, looks like there is consensus for adding back the claim that Takumi was the writer, so I'll do that right now.--IDVtalk 09:30, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
- @The1337gamer: "Planner" is the Japanese equivalent to the role of "designer" in Western development, i.e., a person who designs the structure of the game. There are many different types of planners in modern Japanese game dev who specialize in one aspect of the design (battle, systems, puzzles, locations, etc.), whereas they used to be jacks-of-all-trades in earlier eras. In fact, "scenario planner" is roughly equivalent to "writer" at some companies. "Planner" is in contrast with a "programmer", a person who implements the design into code (can be the same person though!). Axem Titanium (talk) 07:31, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
Rushed story?
[edit]I remember reading once in a thread somewhere at the Court Records forums that the AJ:AA story was rushed in development because of the time pressure the writers, or rather Shu Takumi, was under and because of that there were many story points and explanations that were written out. Does anyone here know if there is some official source for this?195.67.78.50 (talk) 09:34, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- I've heard people talk about this, but I'm unsure if it's just speculation or if it comes from some interview. I, too, would like to see a source for it if it's found.--IDVtalk 09:45, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
Compilation redirect?
[edit]Can someone make a redirect for "Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy" so it redirects to the "Release and compilation" section on this page? Kinda like how "The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles" redirects to The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures' "Sequel and compilation" section. Metalex123 (talk) 17:10, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
