The course introduces information as a concept, and its changing roles, uses and meanings in contemporary global society.
Students will work in small groups (2-3) to develop a new “stem” page or improve an existing section(s) for a global digital divide topic in Wikipedia (from a list of available topics). Students will learn about how Wikipedia functions, edit existing content, develop new content following the platform guidelines, peer review other editors’ content, and post to a live publically accessible page.

Begin a blog about your experiences. You can use discussion questions to frame your entries, or reflect on the research and writing process. Post one blog entry every two weeks during the Wikipedia assignment. More about this requirement on Moodle.
