Washington Evening Star

For User:Extraordinary Writ/Ashton Embry (law clerk). NewsBank/Readex has an Evening Star archive that should cover this; most institutions don't subscribe to it, but if yours (e.g., the DC Public Library) does, that'd be an easy solution. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 06:20, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My university doesn't seem to have access to this one anywhere online, but they do have it on microfilm! Haven't had a chance to play around with that format yet, so this one should be fun! I'll try to get to it over the next day or two. Bsoyka (tcg) 13:51, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

La Voix du Nord

Does anyone have archival access to La Voix du Nord between 2018 and 2019? My library only gives me access to the last three months of 2024. If someone has access to articles from 2018 to 2019, I would like to request a few for use in the article The Lady in White (Bracquemond). Thank you. Viriditas (talk) 22:43, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That's great! Because there are two dates, the original publication date and the update date, I put both below in case that skews your searching. I've found that in some cases, articles are categorized by the update not the original publication date. Here are the articles I need:
Thank you! Viriditas (talk) 23:09, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Viriditas: For some reason, Factiva, the database I have access through, is only showing results for 3–6 (and I'm searching by title, not date). Not sure where those first two are hiding. @Bsoyka I’ve got the books from the library, but I’m very busy at the moment, so it’ll probably be another few weeks before I’ve digitized them. Please feel free to go ahead and do these in the meantime – just let me know what you’ve done so I don’t duplicate the effort. Toadspike [Talk] 05:59, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, TJMSmith (talk) 13:42, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, TJMSmith, the book is only 9 bucks on Amazon, free shipping. Otherwise, I recommend clicking the ISBN and going to WorldCat to find a copy in a library nearest you, or requesting inter-library loan at your local library. Softlavender (talk) 12:23, 9 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again, TJMSmith. The book is in 42 libraries in Oklahoma [3]. You might want to post on WT:WikiProject Oklahoma and see if anyone will visit one of them for you and copy-scan the relevant pages. @Jenhawk777: Do you need the fourth edition (2014) specifically? I have online access to the sixth edition (2023), but the table of contents seems to be a bit different:
  1. Prelude: The Roman World Transformed (c.300–c.600)
  2. The Emergence of Sibling Cultures (c.600–c.750)
  3. Creating New Identities (c.750–c.900)
  4. Political Communities Reordered (c.900–c.1050)
  5. New Configurations (c.1050–c.1150)
  6. Ambitions Realized and Thwarted (c.1150–c.1250)
  7. Empires of Land and Mind (c.1250–c.1350)
  8. Catastrophe and Creativity (c.1350–c.1500)
