Gerald Duff

According to the editor, the page was deleted for Reason A7: not important. Gerald Duff is a noted author with 13 Books currently available on Amazon. I wrote the Wikipedia article with an attempt to be humorous in Duff's style. Perhaps this put the reviewer off. -Jread 21205 (talk) 17:06, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

User:Jéské Couriano/REFUND/Ineligible speedy/G5 Number of books available on Amazon doesn't automatically confer notability; whether the author has been written about or their books have achieved critical acclaim or a movie deal does. Also, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, so I do somewhat agree with your suspicion that the levity was inappropriate, but it wouldn't have, in and of itself, triggered a speedy. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 17:18, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

Comment:: if you click on the "redlink" Gerald Duff again, you will see that the A7 deletion was in 2006; that article was about an American lawyer. Your article is still at User:Jread 21205/Sandbox where you wrote it, and has not been submitted for publication.(Mistake - see below.) I have added a {{User sandbox}} template at the top which has a link for you to submit the article, when it is ready, to WP:Articles for creation, where an experienced user will review it and either accept it or give you feedback. Before you submit it, though:
JohnCD (talk) 18:14, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
The article in question was Gerald duff with a small d. It was deleted as blatant advertising (G11), but I think A7 would have been possibly more appropriate. Opinions vary. Peridon (talk) 20:00, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
BTW being available on Amazon merely indicates existence. They'll list almost anything so long as it's available on demand and they don't have to buy in a stock. I've seen a 20 page book on there with an asking price of £97. I don't know how many it sold... Peridon (talk) 20:03, 8 February 2014 (UTC)
(Self-trout). I saw the sandbox in the user's contributions, assumed that was the explanation, and didn't look in his deleted contributions. Regardless, I think his best plan is to revise the sandbox article and submit it via AfC as I suggested, so as to get it checked and get feedback. JohnCD (talk) 20:08, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

I, Superfruit1, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Unlike six months ago when there weren't legitimate outside sources for information regarding SF-7x and its Super Fruit products (i.e., the reason the page was turned down in the first place), currently, those outside sources are in place.  Not done. We have never had a page with that name. If you mean Vijayannamalai the master of online internet service provider the answer is no, because Wikipedia is not a social-networking site like Facebook, Twitter and all the others where you have made yourself accounts. Those are all places for people to write about themselves, but Wikipedia is quite different - a project to build an encyclopedia. Read the WP:Welcome page, the WP:Introduction and Wikipedia is not about YOU to find out more about it. JohnCD (talk) 09:05, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

outpsyjah

This psytrance project needs its wiki article undeleted so that it can be referenced in coordination with other projects from Australian artist Tom Vallance, who is responsible for numerous unsigned music projects -Tomahawk333 (talk) 17:36, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about music. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning musicians or music groups will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject.
You would do best to start by making an article about Vallance, with references to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources to show how he meets the WP:Notability standard of WP:MUSICBIO. Individual projects will also need to show their own WP:Notability. JohnCD (talk) 18:21, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

An article on Tom Vallance http://western-riverina-arts.blogspot.com.au/2014/01/tom-vallance-rides-again.html, http://www.irrigator.com.au/story/199937/art-space-a-dream-for-artist/ (Australian artist) can be addressed in coordination with the outpsyjah article. The outpsyjah mixes comprise a saga, which is a notable feat in itself - also, they are not signed to any label and no revenue is being gained from the music, so to label this as advertising or promotion is to misinterpret the importance of outpsyjah's music — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tomahawk333 (talkcontribs) 18:36, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

I can link you to a number of external sources that reference the works of Tom Vallance ^^^ - if that information will be seen to legitimize the existence of this article.

And there are multiple sources of information on the outpsyjah psytrance project, which cite its importance; https://soundcloud.com/outpsyjah, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gr64G9k1jUA — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tomahawk333 (talkcontribs) 19:12, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not for any kind of promotion, even of non-commercial enterprises - see Wikipedia is not here to tell the world about your noble cause. The inclusion criterion is called WP:Notability, and requires evidence of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Blogs, Twitter, Youtube, Soundcloud etc don't count as reliable, because anyone can post anything there. See WP:Notability (summary). The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it important or significant enough to write substantial comment about? More detail at WP:MUSICBIO and WP:CREATIVE. Once other people have written about these projects, Wikipedia can summarise what they say, but an encyclopedia is not the place to announce new things. JohnCD (talk) 09:28, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

This image was replaced by the PNG version in Terranigma. However, the PNG is smaller than the JPEG version, and I'm sure that (per WP:IUP) JPEG can display better colors than PNG, despite JPEG's lossy compression and PNG's lossless quality. Also, 300px JPEG's 300-pixel display of image may be more superior to 250px PNG image's 300-pixel display. -George Ho (talk) 03:32, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

R.a.G.e

This page was deleted via WP:Prod on 21 September 2006. It has breviously been nominated for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/R.a.G.e. Per WP:PROD, PROD should only be used for articles previously discussed on AfD and hence PROD should not have been used here. N.B. I checked the version of WP:PROD in force at the time of deletion and it said the same thing then. -Op47 (talk) 15:39, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

  • You're right that PROD should not be used on articles that have been to AfD, even if the result was keep or no consensus. However, if this is restored, it is very likely to get sent straight to AfD again. If you are intending to work on it, it can be restored into your user space. Peridon (talk) 18:52, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

That, and for temporal reasons alone (I mean seriously - you want an article undeleted that was deleted 8 years ago??) this is unwise to undelete (except for possibly to a draft somewhere) DP 10:41, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

  •  Question: User:FbachmanII, although we're typically more lenient with G13's, it's not "references" that are the issue - it's notability. It was a car dealer ... they're not notable enough for an encyclopedia entry. Is there something somewhere that grants any inkling of notability??? DP 17:45, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

The dealership sold to the public company for reportedly the highest multiple of earnings in the history of United States Nissan dealerships, after it was started from scratch. Please advise as to what else would make it notable, as it WAS a record-breaking breaking one-price dealership for Nissan before it was sold. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FbachmanII (talkcontribs)

Do you have a valid, third party reference for that claim? "Highest earnings for a Nissan dealership" seems pretty specialized and non-notable overall when considering that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia of notable topics DP 10:56, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Billy Kristanto

We know that wikipedia is the most popular encyclopedia which effort to note detail reliable information in every aspects of living. Well-known with the open-handed of true information had given by volunteers, which is not able to cover it. Hopefully helping all people who are needy on good information as much as possible based on the 5 pillars.

I have rather a good information, but reliable one. I wrote the article about Billy Kristanto, as a one potential man who build-up the classical and baroque music which people hardly to find, especially in Indonesia. A person who had dual doctoral degree (Ph.D. and Th.D.) from Germany within about 5 year. he also has been held a key role in Stephen Tong's Orchestra, who dealt with Symphony Hall in Jakarta (Aula Simfonia Jakarta), which is one great and International standart concert hall in Indonesia.

I've got this article under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because of insignificant. Meanwhile, i was watching many porn stars and pop figures talked by wikipedia about their history and fad information, even in detail, passing from insignificancy. Well..., if one good information is scarcely acceptable, rather than just the opposite. How might wikipedia will be?

I just a volunteer, if this cause is going on, this is really discouraging me to support. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Candi003 (talkcontribs) 04:09, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

checkY Userfied. We are all just volunteers, but Wikipedia is quite selective about subjects for articles. The test for inclusion is called Wikipedia:Notability, and is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." See also WP:Notability (people) and WP:Notability (summary). The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it important or significant enough to write substantial content about? In regard to other articles, there are many unsatisfactory ones, but see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS.

Bliss Wishes

The page seems to have been deleted due to lack of proper citation. I have corrected that issue and the page is as well cited now as many other pages which are simply comprised of an album listing. I am unsure of how to repost the page with corrections being that I have to go through a process of undeletion so I apologize if this is the wrong place. Any advice or guidance is appreciated. I've created a tentative page with corrections at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Etrangere/Bliss_Wishes -Etrangere (talk) 22:11, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Comment: - that was deleted after Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/L. Cedeño, so you should ask user Beeblebrox (talk), the administrator who closed that discussion. Unfortunately, there are many unsatisfactory album articles, but see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, also WP:NALBUMS. Your four references are really only two - the first and third are the same, and so are the second and fourth. JohnCD (talk) 11:22, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
information Administrator note I can't say I really remember this AFD from four years ago, but as I was pinged here I went ahead and took a look at it. First, as John notes above, there are really only two references, the other two are duplicates. The urls may be different but they redirect to the exact same content. (I am trying to assume good faith but this seems very odd, either you knew this and did it anyway or you added links without actually looking at them, neither of those is a good indicator)
One of those two references is the same one that was found to be insufficient as a sole reference in the previous deletion discussion, the other is from a site that appears to accept user-generated content and is therefore probably not a reliable source. That being the case, if this was reposted to article space I expect it would be speedy deleted again. So, as you clearly have a copy of the deleted article and your new version adds one sentence and one unreliable reference, I can't see any reason to consider undeletion. Beeblebrox (talk) 19:22, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
Ok. I understand. I don't have a copy of the original, but in looking at other albums on Wikipedia it seems that a sentence stating what the album is, and who it is by is all that is normally posted. With regard to the references. I'm not sure how to make two sentences that are referring to the same citation show up as one citation. Will look into that. Anyway, thank you for taking a look and the information. Seems like this one simply may not make it as it isn't notable enough. Thanks again - Etrangere

Not done and will not be done The deleted "draft article" consisted of a single word and appears to be some sort of vandalism. If there is a legitimate topic here (which I doubt) you are now autoconfirmed and do not need to use the AFC process. Obviously, if you re-create this article as it was before it will simply be deleted again, and you may be blocked, so please either write a real article on this language, if it really exists, or let it go. fairfx page deletion

Hi there, I have gone back and forth with an administrator at Wikipedia, regarding "promotion" on the FairFX page. We actually based the content of this page on our competitors pages, as a result of our content being removed several times... and we have sincerely tried to appease this administrator with the correct content. So with this in mind, our content had more factual references and less "sales-y" information than the following: Transferwise, WorldFirst, CaxtonFX, MoneyCorp, HiFX, Western Union, ICE International Currency Exchange, MoneyCorp, Currencies Direct - to name a few. I really appreciate what you guys do, and have spent half my life on this encyclopedia due to personal curiosity, but it's very frustrating to have our page deleted when our competitors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TransferWise) have a lot more contentious information - Wikipedia should have one rule for everyone... I would like to have our page undeleted, or at least enter a discussion as to why this has happened, or alternatively have the content of the above pages removed as we all feel this is unfair practice - especially as market leaders in this industry. Thank you. -2A00:1D40:1012:0:5400:48BE:E741:6E (talk) 15:25, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FairFX, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user JohnCD (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review.
As ES&L stated above, there is one rule for all, and that rule is WP:CORP. FairFX does not meet the inclusion criteria. You can't have a Wikipedia article if you're up-and-coming. You must have already arrived. ~Amatulić (talk) 19:53, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Emil Polit

Emil Polit is a well known Polish painter, with quite a few collectors in the US and other English speaking countries. Please note a rich set of searchable results. His Website is built with an extensive English version. English speakers are a significant segment of the artist's following. Please restore this page. -IndyPete (talk) 23:07, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

@IndyPete: Done. Hey IndyPete. As a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. Please note what the major issue with this article and the reason it was proposed for deletion is that it does not have sufficient third party citations to reliable sources that are unconnected to the artist. This is what's needed as a basis expand the article from, to verify its content and to show notability. It appears those sources exist, but have not yet been tapped. You might find some of those sources through the results here. The reasons you've given for undeletion mostly don't speak at all to why it was deleted or what we care about as an encyclopedia. Though in practice it's much easier to find sources in English if you only speak that language, whether his following was only in Mongolia; the only sources on him were in Mongolian; and no one who speaks English had ever heard of him would be fine, as long as his notability was shown through those reliable independent sources – evidence that the world has taken note of him by writing about him substantively and providing verification of the content.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 00:08, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Goose house

Goose house should have its own page considering it is a rather well-known Japanese music group on Youtube. (Currently 600,000+ subs) The group is the one who sung the ending theme song of the anime Silver Spoon. This group is also one of the artists who sung for YUI's tribute album. They also have their own Wikipedia page in Japanese.

I was in the midst of editing it and adding more info when it was deleted. I'm planning on translating the content from its JP wiki and posting it here, so can you please undelete the article? -Triksyness (talk) 22:35, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Please see WP:BAND for the criteria a band must meet before it merits an article on the English Wikipedia. What the Japanese or any other Wikipedia chooses to publish has no bearing on the editorial criteria of the English Wikipedia. ~Amatulić (talk) 06:02, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

International Surety Association

Dear sir, madam,

We are writing to you with regards to the Wikipedia page of the International Surety Association (ISA) which has recently been deleted by Wikipedia due to possible copyright infringements.

We of course value the importance of Wikipedia with regards to copyright, and therefore we would like to ask your assistance on how we can reinstate this page in line with Wikipedia’s guidelines?

I would like to inform that we are highly surprised Wikipedia decided that the International Surety Association (ISA) is not relevant enough to have his own Wikipedia article. And kindly ask if you could inform us who to contact to amend this remarkable decision?

extended content

The International Surety Association is an official partner organisation of ICISA. I refer to: www.icisa.org/partners/1545/

Website of ISA - www.suretyinternational.org

The object of ISA The object of ISA is to promote the common interests of its Members and the globalization of the surety business.

Background of International Surety Association (ISA) ISA was set up to promote surety bonds and in particular the uniform rules for contract bonds and to increase efficiency in advocacy initiatives:

- by dividing the world into regions for which each ISA member association is responsible it allows every member to focus in its region, by attending meetings and conferences, on behalf of other members, eliminating expenses and benefiting from local knowledge and experience.

- by combining forces ISA is a more relevant partner when talking to regulators and other influential making ISA a truly global surety representative body for advocacy purposes. The Association aims to intensify the co-operation between its members and to enhance efficiency in their respective businesses.

Looking forward to your response and suggestions for allowing ISA to have its own page on Wikipedia. -Meme1815 (talk) 10:15, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

  •  Not done Please do not copy/paste contents here - admins have the ability to view the deleted text. There appear to be 2 issues: first, copyright violation, and second notability. There was nothing that even hinted that this is a notable organization. These are usually found in significant mentions in significant third party publications (note: press releases from the organization or similar things do not count). Indeed, the references for this article were non-existent. None of the officers are notable by Wikipedia standards, and although the org is a noble cause, it currently fails to meet encyclopedic requirements. You may wish to create a WP:USERSPACEDRAFT or use the WP:AFC process, however, do not include copyrighted materials at any time DP 10:49, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Samuel Mensah

The reason given for deleting this article was "concern was: not proved to have played in a fully professional league". I gave a lot of references that Samuel Mensah played in Superettan and will now play in Allsvenskan. Both of those leagues are professional leagues; the two leagues together comprise the organisation "Swedish Elite Football" (http://www.svenskelitfotboll.se/), which itself is a member of European Professional Football Leagues (http://www.epfl-europeanleagues.com/member_leagues.htm). I didn't even know I had to prove that Superettan is a professional league on the page for Samuel Mensah, I thought that was an obvious fact. Thanks for your time.

Lataif-e-sitta

Complete deletion of this entry seems to me entirely unwarranted. I especially don't understand how the person who deleted this entry can justify calling the subject of little importance . . . when there are other Wikipedia entries that reference it (as anyone can see) and a google search for it produces 30,000 results. In my opinion, this is a significant topic within the practice of virtually every branch of Sufism. There should be some entry in Wikipedia for it. If the existing entry was inadequate in some respect, an effort should be made to correct it . . . -2601:D:E80:356:A076:D220:61F3:85B9 (Malcolm) 02:39, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Rabbit's Foot Meadery

This company is relevant because it is a leader in the growing mead industry. It is a founding member of several industry organizations. It is recognized by its peers as the largest in the industry, and is the oldest producer in the USA. Many articles have been written about the company and its founder and has been featured in news articles and on national television many times in the past twenty years and has served as a speaker at UC Davis Viticulture and Enonology department. It is no less relevant than [Sierra Nevada Brewing Company] or [Gordon Biersch Brewing Company]. It is also listed in several books on the subject. If the page is undeleted I will ensure that the references are added to make it comply withstandards. -173.8.178.225 (talk) 21:29, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
