Bunch of userfication requests from Neustradamas

I put this long indiscriminate list in the right place. Am discussing with requester what he wants to do with them all as its a long indiscriminate list that will take a lot of time to fulfil. Spartaz Humbug! 20:12, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

deleted as advertising? I think

Please tell me what I have done wrong the page that I included the article in was for Recording `studios in London" I thought it was ok to name my own studio here/ I am sorry if this breaks rules I saw all the other studios mentioned and added mine? many thanks Phil

Spartaz you do not address his objection. He is saying that all other studios have their page on Wikipedia. If true, this would put Wikipedia's fairness and credibility into question. ShereKhan92.251.70.39 (talk) 19:12, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

PetGadgets

Hello I'm hoping you can release our PetGadgets article posting availability. A few years ago we had an untrained worker who did not adhere to the Wiki rules and thus the article was flagged as promotion. We just want to have the ability to update our company info. We have started a new one under the user name http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Kozmoscorner which is what we would like to be put on or moved to the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PetGadgets url . Thanks for your help on this matter. I look forward to hearing from you. Geoff, President PetGadgets.com

The draft article does not currently pass WP:CORP notability standards. Are there any reliable, independent secondary sources that have written about your company? –Xeno(talk) 14:38, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Hi Xeno, Thanks for your reply. Yes, are site is continually mentioned by the mainstream media both in print and on-air. Here is just a partial listing of all the top places that have discussed our site from NBC's PetSide, Readers Digest, MSNBC, CNET, The Early Show on CBS, Fox & Friends, Digital Trends, ABC News Now, Pet Product News which is considered the pet industry bible.

Below are some links:

You'll need to add these references to the article and also make some assertion of notability. If you think your article meets WP:CORP standards, you can then move it into the mainspace - however; this will not prevent another editor tagging it for speedy deletion or filing a deletion discussion if they feel it still does not meet our inclusion criteria. –xenotalk 17:42, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

The article on local Syracuse, NY band "One Last Shot" has been deleted despite it being factually based and used as a resource on the bands website as a place to go to learn about the band. There were no facts on the page that we wrong, inappropriate, or frivolous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.106.202.197 (talkcontribs) 17:55, 4 January 2010

  •  Done As the article was deleted by the Proposed Deletion procedure, restoration on request is automatic. I'm not sure the "history" section qualifies as "not frivolous", but that's by the way: the point is that just being correct is not enough, to have a Wikipedia article a subject has to be notable, the standard for bands is set out at WP:BAND, and I'm afraid, with their first EP yet to be released, One Last Shot don't make it (yet). So I have started a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/One Last Shot. These discussions normally run for seven days; you are welcome to comment there, but before you do, please read WP:Notability and WP:Notability (music). JohnCD (talk) 20:44, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

  •  Done I have restored it and marked it "under construction" which will protect it for a few days while you add references. These may save it from speedy deletion, but I'm not sure they are enough to save it at an WP:Articles for deletion debate: if you can find more, it will help. The standard you are aiming for is WP:CREATIVE. JohnCD (talk) 22:45, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

The article pertained to a National Bravery Award winner in India who is perhaps one of few Indians to win both the Bravery Awards viz. Prime Minster's National Bravery Award and President of India's Jeevan Raksha Medal.

The page User:RedPolly/Etersoft was created as a draft. The name of the page "User:Redpolly/..." is an analog to the "Special:MyPage/..." in Russian Wikipedia. The article was deleted as a result of the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kinderdance International Inc, so we can't unilaterally restore it here. I am the global manager of the band "our mountain, I need this page undeleted for overall awareness purposes, I am confused as to why it was deleted in the first place? Please help.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Myrtles (talkcontribs)

For the deletion reason, you might talk to Deb (talk · contribs), the deleting admin. While it's a bit of a judgment call whether the article met the speedy deletion criteria or not, I can't find evidence in the article or through a google search that the band meets the requirements of WP:MUSIC.
Since you are the manager of the band, you have a conflict of interest in writing this article. Wikipedia strongly discourages working on articles where you have a conflict of interest, as most humans have an extremely hard time writing unbiased material in that situation (and an even harder time recognizing that their writing is biased). Music is extremely well represented on Wikipedia -- wait until the band meets the requirements of WP:MUSIC and someone will surely write a new article. However, Wikipedia is not the place "for overall awareness purposes" -- myspace, facebook, and your own website are ideal places for that. HTH --Fabrictramp | talk to me 22:16, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

I have been attempting to locate an article that I had contributed to back in March of last year. This contribution was on an individual that I had been studying in the Jewish community of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who is a proponent of civil rights and Russian immigrant.

I cannot seem to locate anything except for a picture that I had uploaded; I cannot even determine who the administrator was that deleted it to attempt to recover my work.

Can you please restore this article to my account so that I may attempt to satisfy the guidelines of Wikipedia?

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Please explain what particular page you are referring to. If your complaint is general, see Wikipedia:Deletion policy for how it works. JohnCD (talk) 10:02, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

The deletion discussion can be found here, but the most salient points were that the article lacks sources and notability. Well, I've found a few sources for it. Here are a few of them: [1] or [2], [3], [4]. Hopefully at least enough to get the article reinstated so it can be built upon. They're not the best sources in the world but hopefully enough to satisfy the notability complaints; and more will undoubtedly come along over time. I'm looking to give some love to all of the Linux-based news reader articles (Liferea is extremely well-documented in the tech press, for instance, but its wiki page lacks any web cites at all!), and it's a shame to see articles neglected this way. The addition of Newsbeuter would make a great addition to Wikipedia's coverage of news aggregators. Thanks for your consideration--Xyiyizi 19:45, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Since this was deleted via a deletion discussion, we can't unilaterally reinstate it here. However, we can move it to a subpage of your userpage so you can add the sources that you think will address the objections and get some feedback on it at WP:FEED. Let us know if you'd like that to happen.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 21:07, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict!) As the article was deleted at AfD, we can't just restore it without going through WP:DRV. Instead, I have restored it into the Incubator at WP:Article Incubator/Newsbeuter where you can work on it. When it is ready, in order to avoid it being tagged WP:CSD#G4 as a repost of deleted material, it would be sensible to approach the closing admin from the AfD, JForget (talk · contribs), and get his agreement to restore it to the mainspace, or alternatively to take it to DRV. JohnCD (talk) 21:12, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the assistance, chaps! I'll get right on to editing the incubator piece and make enquires to the closing admin. --Xyiyizi 21:36, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm writing asking the undelition of the page MULTICUBE.

MULTICUBE is a FP7 research project which relevance is thus recognized by the European Union which is funding the related activities.

Anymore, the research activities performed are today documented from many publications which number is destinated to grow with the following of the project:

http://www.multicube.eu/publications.html

The research project involves many academic institutes:

  • Politecnico di Milano (Italy)
  • University of Cantabria (Spain)
  • Advanced Research and Learning Institute (Switzerland)
  • Institute of Computing Technology (China)

And other industries and research centers:

  • DS2 (Spain)
  • STMicroelectronics (Italy and China)
  • IMEC (Belgium)
  • Esteco (Italy)

The topic is thus relevant not only from the academic point of view but also for industries. The application of related design techniques have been proved useful for speeding up the design of advanced embedded electronics. Among others activities, we developed 2 open source design tools which are today available as prototype version and will be soon (within a month) available with a more complete release.

The wikipedia page might help people on finding these tools and understanding the underlying techniques. Thus the page is useful for a wide community of engineers and students which are working on related topics. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marianig (talkcontribs) 15:30, 10 January 2010

Not done MULTICUBE was deleted as part of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MULTICUBE FP7 Project, so this isn't something we can unilaterally restore here. If you think the project meets the requirements of WP:Notability, I'd suggest writing a draft following the instructions at Wikipedia:Article Incubator. (There wasn't really any content in the prior version worth saving). This will give you more time to work on it, and let you get feedback on whether the article meets the notability requirements before moving it into the main encyclopedia. HTH --Fabrictramp | talk to me 18:43, 10 January 2010 (UTC)

I've just created an aricle but it was deleted in 2 minutes and I even had no time to set references, this for example: http://www.artnet.com/artist/587815/leopoldo-romanach.html And there is a number of articles in Wiki relating this:

It was deleted due to an apparent lack of notability. I wish to have the article undeleted/userified(?) because Cirt suggested that I continue on a draft in my own userspace. The article has not been deleted, but it has been turned into a redirect to the performer's article Bahamadia. This was done by user Live and Die 4 Hip Hop (talk · contribs), who probably thought that it did not meet the notability requirements for a standalone article explained at WP:NALBUMS, as it contained little more than a track listing and no independent comment. Read WP:NALBUMS and then discuss it with the user. JohnCD (talk) 18:32, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

This article is not currently deleted, but a request for speedy deletion had been made. The article did not meet the speedy deletion criteria, so I declined the speedy, but the article also does not meet our criteria for inclusion, so I have proposed the article for deletion myself. You can contest the deletion by removing the prod tag from the article, but it will quickly be sent to articles for deletion. I'd suggest reading WP:NOT#ESSAY, especially number 3, to see why this article has been proposed for deletion.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:11, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

I am not sure why this article was deleted. I am requesting information as to why it was deleted and how I can have the article undeleted.

The deletion reason given was "Deleted because expired WP:PROD; Reason given: Seems to be an one-off term invented in a PowerPoint deck.. " Because this is an expired prod, you can simply request that it be undeleted here or at the deleting admin's talk page, however I strongly suggest you read WP:COI first to see why writing articles about yourself or your ideas is a really bad idea. Also, unless this concept can be shown through independent, reliable sources to be notable, it will quickly be sent to articles for deletion.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:18, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

The Voyage of the Arctic Tern is a young-adult fiction novel written completely in poetic verse in 2007. I recently created an article on it (well last Sunday), and due to finals I wasn't able to contribute much other than creating the page and writing only a sentence or two. It was deleted, most likely because it was presumed I was vandalizing, which by no means am I frustrated by. What confuses me is that the article is not showing up in my contributions history, and now that I have more time I'd like to write more about it. If someone could un-delete the article, that would have my one Wikipedia-themed dream of creating an article complete :) Kostantino888Z (talk) 20:35, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Because the article was deleted, it doesn't show up in your regular contribution history (but it does show up in your deleted contribution history, which admins can see.) The entire text of your article was "The Voyage of the Arctic Tern is a book written in verse, rather than the usual prose.", and it was deleted under speedy deletion criteria A1, as having no context. (Personally, I disagree with the deletion, as anyone can tell it's about a book.) However, since there was also no claim of the book meeting our notability guidelines for books, it probably would have been deleted under other guidelines anyways.
Since you'd like to expand the article, I've taken the liberty of moving it to User:Kostantino888Z/Voyage of the Arctic Tern, where you will have more, but not unlimited, time to work on it. Be sure to include some sources that show how the book is notable, and get some feedback by posting a request at WP:FEED when you think it's ready. HTH. --Fabrictramp | talk to me 22:13, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Ah, well the best site is from Amazon.com ([5]). Just my luck it's a rather obscure book. I believe I have it around here somewhere, though I think I donated to my local grammar school. It seems that this book's article might have to go back into the delet bin after all unfortunately, but I suppose I'll have to use the Amazon.com summary and memory as my guides. Thank you, by the way, it's always been on my list of things to do, create an article :D Kostantino888Z (talk) 04:44, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

I'll post a reply on your talk page, too, but it doesn't seem that obscure to me. Gnews is giving some good leads for notability.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 16:44, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

This item was deleted because someone said that it was not relevant or a website. Yes it is a website, but if you have a listing for collegehumor.com you should allow a listing for adasport.com.

There are dozens of other sites that do the same exact thing as collegehumor.com. If you want me to list them, I can.

I dare you to find anything similar to adasport.com.

Chuck McCarthy - not the Chuck McCarthy listed on wikipedia, even though I am more relevant to the world. Google me.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ideasbychuck (talkcontribs)

The deletion reason was "Article about a web site, blog, web forum, webcomic, podcast, browser game, or similar web content, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject". The article as it stood only said what the website was, and not how it was important enough to be in an encyclopedia.
If you think that this website can meet the requirements of Wikipedia:Notability (web), then we'll be happy to move the article to a subpage of your userpage, such as User:Ideasbychuck/Adasport.com. This will give you more, but not unlimited, time to add the needed references and expand the article a bit to explain why the website is notable. Before moving it back to article space, I'd strongly suggest getting some feedback by posting a request at WP:FEED. --Fabrictramp | talk to me 16:38, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Cobb's Curve was deleted over 4 years ago as a result of the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cobb's Curve. This means it's not something we can unilaterally overturn here. However, there are several options open to you. If you think if you think the closer interpreted the debate incorrectly, normally I'd suggest you talk to the closing admin, Jaxl (talk · contribs). However, I see Jaxl has not edited for over 3 years, so that may not go too far. The next step would be to take it to deletion review.
If you think you can add information to the article that would address the concerns brought up at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cobb's Curve, you can create a free account and we can move it to a subpage of your user page to let you add that information. Drop a note at my talk page with your user name and a link to this section if you'd like to do that, and I'll be happy to move it for you. Or, you can create a new version from scratch. (Again, you'll need an account to do this.) Adding reliable sources will be key to making sure it doesn't get deleted again. HTH --Fabrictramp | talk to me 00:41, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Not done - the article was deleted as a result of the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/iTalkBB, and has since been re-created and deleted so often that the title has been salted to prevent creation. The issue was lack of notability; if you think you can now demonstrate notability to the standard of Notability (organizations and companies), your first step should be to talk to the deleting admin, Davewild (talk · contribs), and if he does not agree take it to WP:Deletion review. JohnCD (talk) 11:01, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

I would like to request that the deletion of the Online Wedding article be undone. While not quite as topical today, as it may've been at the time, this is still an issue that persists in various online communities. In fact, the issue became topical again as recently as last month when a man in Japan "married" an avatar. [6]

I have not been an active editor for quite some time, and so I may not be following precisely the correct protocol for this request. If that is the case, please accept my apologies. The Deletion policies are written in rather arcane language which did not give me a better avenue. My only other alternative was to 'be bold' and rewrite the article from scratch. This would mean not only a lot of effort on my part, but also would not recover the numerous contributions that I recall many editors making over time.

Please let me know what, if any, action will be taken. If the article is restored, I'd like to assist in relinking it to other relevant topics.

Feel free to contact me, as I've updated my email address via my Talk page. Thanks so much for your time and effort that you put into Wikipedia. I hope to be in position to better contribute to the projects in the future.ghost (talk) 04:38, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Done - as a contested PROD, the article is automatically restored on request. The concerns that caused the PROD included "Notability concerns, Original research only, and Unreferenced (and unreferenceable?)" Unless you are able to improve it to address those, it may well be nominated under the Articles for deletion process. JohnCD (talk) 10:54, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Not done - the article was deleted as a result of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/A-WING International because it did not demonstrate notability, a requirement for an article in Wikipedia, explained in more detail at Notability (organizations and companies). Also, in writing about your own company you have, from Wikipedia's point of view, a Conflict of Interest, and should carefully read that guideline and the FAQ/Organizations, in particular the sections headed:

The metal band Saint Diablo's page was deleted 12 Aug 2008 at 23:14. I have many friends who would like it undeleted especially for discography purposes since wikipedia had the most complete discography for them of any other site. It states they were deleted for the reason of "non notable band" which is pretty ignorant of the person who tagged it for deletion considering Saint Diablo HEADLINES venues all along the East coast over here. I do understand that maybe a person not living on the East coast might assume they weren't that important of a band, but here on the East, they are extremely important to their fans. No, they're not world-wide, but then again, they don't WANT to be world-wide, they love playing where they can actually be near their fans rather than on mega stages barred away from people. So again, please consider reinstating Saint Diablo's wiki page. Thank you for your time and service. ~Heath Christopher (TridentRPG@hotmail.com)

Done. As a contested PROD, the article is restored on request. I will notify Stormbay (talk · contribs), who PRODded it, in case he wishes to nominate it under the Articles for deletion process. At a glance, I have some doubts whether the band meets Wikipedia's definition of notability, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." More detail at WP:BAND. Also, it is not Wikipedia's job to provide a discography service for fans - the band's own website or Myspace pages are available for that. RHaworth (talk · contribs) deleted it as "‎ ({{WP:CSD#G11|G11]]: Unambiguous advertising or promotion: probably copyvio too) ". Bill "Peg Pants" Beach is the article.

It has been tagged for speedy deletion because there is another Bill Beach in the English section. These are two different Bill Beach's...one from the US and one from Austrailia. Two different reasons for biography. I titled my article Bill "Peg Pants" Beach to avoid confusion.

I have tagged it to stop deletion. Please review.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Bonniejanern (talkcontribs)

A person by the user name of Nuttah keeps deleting the rules of the game ONEXENO.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ONEXENO

This seems to be a very arbitrary policy, since there is NO ADVERTISING on the page and all that they delete is the rules.

Similar games such as UNO & SET have their rules on the Wikipedia See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uno_(card_game) and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Set_(card_game)

Even Dungeons & Dragons has its rules posted. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeons_%26_Dragons_gameplay

Somehow, some games are not allowed to post their rules, such a Whot & ONEXENO.

This seems extremely abitrary and unjust!!!!

The article has not been deleted: what you have here is a content dispute. Don't WP:Edit war, but discuss it on the article talk page with the other editor and try to reach a WP:Consensus; if you cannot reach agreement, the next step is WP:Dispute resolution. Since you are the developer of the game, you should read the guidelines WP:Conflict of interest and WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest. JohnCD (talk) 21:55, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

It is not a content dispute. Nuttah doesn't change any content. It is not as if we disagree about the rules. Nuttah just deletes the rules, and claims that the rules violate Wikipedia's ban on advertising, and presents him'herself as somehow representing Wikipedia. If this is true, I don't understand why UNO, SET and even Dungeons & Dragons can post their rules.

Can someone with some authority please clearly state what the policy is that applies to game rules and why some game rules are OK and others are not?

The only definition of the 20/20 club on Wikipedia appears on one of the player's page who has earned the title. The 20/20 Club page has been deleted four times in the past year and a half, that should indicate the users have an interest in having the page around. Without that one reference on the player's page, I would have been totally unable to find the definition of it. A page explaining what it is, and listing the players who have been awarded it, would have been very useful. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.217.17.97 (talkcontribs) 02:04, 25 January 2010
