An Apology
[edit]In my younger years, I have maliciously edited a page, disagreed with views on another page, and edited a page I thought was another (which I think I reverted). So to everyone, I have vandalized before. However I would like to move on and fix articles (after knowledge is power). However if you prefer I did not, I will discontinue my use of Wikipedia. Kostantino888Z (talk) 02:07, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Knowledge is power
[edit]Not in this way. Mallerd (talk) 14:31, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I don't quite get what you mean. Kostantino888Z (talk) 00:39, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, I do not know if you are familiar with Francis Bacon and/or Idealism, but fixing articles (as much as I appreciate you doing it) isn't really empowering people to overcome nature or any of that sort. Greetings Mallerd (talk) 22:11, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
PS: I wouldn't care as much about vandalism as you do if I were you. Mistakes happen, don't let anyone else decide for you how to do things

- Too many "an's"

I have so much on my plate right now I can not remember any of my wikipedia edits, would everyone mind from now on giving me more information than "Homer Lea"?

Small ecosystem
[edit]I was reading an article about a children's toy. It was basically a snow-globe like thing, except there was not glitter and plastic objects floating around in the globe; but living creatures. I believe there was aquatic plant-life, shrimp, tiny snails, and gravel. The globe had no openinings in it to feed the animals because the bi-products of the creatures feed each other. Anyway, I can not remember the name of this article and that simply bugs me. Does anyone know the name of this article? Kostantino888Z (talk) 22:58, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
It was the Ecosphere (science)! Kostantino888Z (talk) 22:59, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Kalimera Kostantino, I reverted your edit only because this is the translation of an article, and I don't think that one should change it. The italian word used there was "fattucchiera" who is a woman who does exactly what you say, and not a witch...Maybe my translation was wrong...
Cheers, Alex2006 (talk) 06:34, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Yes, the translation is terribly wrong. Though I might be an American, I do know quite a bit of superstitions of at very least the Island of Euboea and other parts of Southern and Central Greece. I cannot stress enough that these women are not shamanka, they only have memorized prayers (not spells or incantations, prayers) for warding off demons and the like. They do not believe spirits have possessed them as shamanka have, or that they were given their power by nature or a dark force like Wiccans or witches.
- Obviously there's a cultural clash going on here. If you want, you can find another Greek wikipedian with knowledge on this subject and ask them.

Voyage of the Arctic Tern
[edit]I posted a really brief reply about Voyage of the Arctic Tern over at WP:REFUND, but I wanted to expand it a bit here. The easiest way to show notability for books is professional reviews, and this one seems to have a ton. Gnews (google news) is often the best way to find reviews, and it's coming up with a lot.[1] Of course, those behind paywalls are problematic, but the first hit, The Telegraph[2] gives us hope by saying that the book was well received by critics. I'm too lazy today to do the registration, but School Library Journal looks pretty promising, and while I could make a ton of jokes about the Lodi News-Sentinel, it does meet the definition of a professional review. HTH --Fabrictramp | talk to me 16:49, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Thank you so much! The funny thing is when I googled it, only two obscure awards came up that didn't seem to have websites. Thanks for suggesting Google News, never in a million years would I have thought to use that :) Kostantino888Z (talk) 16:51, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Santi Vincenzo e Anastasio a Trevi
[edit]Hi Konstantinos! I'm aware what the article says, I started it and wrote that specific bit :) I have absolutely no problem with the article being categorized in Category:Orthodox churches in Rome other than the fact that the category does not exist, and if it existed, would only include this same article. In fact, Italy is entirely missing from Category:Eastern Orthodox church buildings by country, what's left for Rome.
Of course, you could always create the whole "infrastructure" required to have a functioning Category:Orthodox churches in Rome or at least Category:Eastern Orthodox church buildings in Italy, but I'm not a fan of one-article categories, personally. Still, I'd have no problem with that.
Sorry if my reverts were unclear, I've never doubted your intentions to improve the article!
Best, — Toдor Boжinov — 18:13, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
Ah, see, I thought you just doubted it was an Eastern church at all, my apologies! I'm only cleaning for a party today, so I can get to work on it in a few hours. I do believe that there's a monastery of ours in the south of Italy and we Greeks have a church out in Venice, so the category won't only have one article at all. I'll just have to do some research, first. Konstantinos (talk) 18:52, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, there's definitely quite many Orthodox churches in Italy, the problem is to find/write the articles! I've added another one to the category, and I have to admit the task seems much more viable than I originally thought :) — Toдor Boжinov — 21:47, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Help with translation from Greek to English
[edit]Hello. Xaris333 (talk) 13:14, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

I made one quick edit (I'm sorry for using English, it's just that I don't have time to manually use a Greek keyboard and then transfer my response here and I don't particularly like using Greeklish), but I will go more in-depth as the week progresses. This'll really be good practice for me because my reading and writing skills as of now still aren't perfect, so thank you for this opportunity. Konstantinos (talk) 02:19, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Konstantinos. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Konstantinos~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Edit Warring
[edit]Your recent editing history at Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. AndyTheGrump (talk) 19:02, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
Not only are you edit-warring on a biography of a living person, you are also ignoring a talk page discussion and imposing a new edit when, per WP:BRD and WP:CONSENSUS, the old version has precedence and the new edit should not be made until consensus to include it is clear. DrKiernan (talk) 19:04, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Hi, at Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge we're striving to bring about 10,000 article improvements and creations for the UK and Ireland and inspire others to create more content. In order to achieve this we need diversity of content, in all parts of the UK and Ireland on all topics. Eventually a regional contest will be held for all parts of the British Isles, like they were for Wales and the Wedt Country. We currently have just over 1900 articles and need contributors! If you think you'd be interested in collaborating on this and helping reach the target quicker, please sign up and begin listing your entries there as soon as possible! Thanks.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:41, 28 September 2016 (UTC)
Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 09:24, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
