Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Kingdom of Sikkim, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 17:58, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for this information. I didn't know about it. I will remember this before editing any article next time. Wiki N Islam (talk) 18:11, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Protectorate

[edit]

Hi Wiki N Islam, can you explain why you added the Kingdom of Bhutan here? -- Kautilya3 (talk) 10:27, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please see, "Bhutan-India relations". Wiki N Islam (talk) 10:33, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That page explicitly says it was a "protected state, not a protectorate"! -- Kautilya3 (talk) 12:16, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The term "protected state" is synonymous to "protectorate". Please see, Protectorate#Protected state. Wiki N Islam (talk) 14:29, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please state where it says that they are "synonymous". -- Kautilya3 (talk) 14:54, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the introductionary part of the article "Protectorate". It's mentioned that the term "Protected state" and "Protectorate" are synonymous. Wiki N Islam (talk) 10:47, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No, it only says that some sources use it synonymously. In Bhutan's case, it is explicitly stated that it is not a protectorate. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 11:06, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Mizanur Rahman Azhari requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mizanur Rahman Azhari. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Moving draftified article into mainspace after a community consensus

[edit]

Hi, I noticed you had moved Knowledge in Islam from Draftspace into Mainspace on May 11, even though you were perfectly aware about the discussion that decided for it to be draftified. It is concerning that you noted "No reasons for draft" as a justification in the edit summary for bringing this back into the mainspace. Decisions made during AfDs are based on community consensus and should not be disregarded in the manner you have done. nearlyevil665 18:22, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

First, you can tell that article "the gathering of informations" of the related article (Valentine's Day, Valentine's Day in Pakistan, Valentine's Day in Iran). Second, that article also contains "Views" from Muslim community on Valentine's celebration. The topic is so common in Wikipedia (like Islamic views on sin, Islamic views on Jesus's death, Islamic views on evolution, Islamic views on fasting in the polar regions etc.). Thanks. Speedy deletion nomination of Y-A-S

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Y-A-S requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. – robertsky (talk) 18:11, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Wiki N Islam. I found while closing this discussion that you moved that article to mainspace from draftspace, twice, without addressing the concerns in the first deletion discussion. [edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Wiki N Islam! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Please make aware this Wikipedia is strict copy from website to article if they repeat they may be blocked from editing, also pls use your own word while you expand the article. Thank you. Sorry, I forgot. There are some guidelines of Wikipedia about creating an article. I asked you to check out WP:N and I don't think your party is notable to require own article. Because, as per the informations you have given, the party is very under reported and it doesn't contain it's own website also. Even if I create an article for your party, I'm pretty sure that administrators will delete that article.
Still you can try to create an article by your own. Please check out WP:HTCAP and WP:FIRST. Wiki N Islam (talk) 15:30, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Fuzeen You can develop it in draftspace, but make sure to have citations included in it, Your party needs a website also, Try to learn coding and publish your website or hire someone. BangladeshiEditorInSylhet (talk) 11:49, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

April 2024

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Kuki-Chin National Front. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. Homophobia

[edit]

Hello,

I want to tell you that a part of your userpage:

"Considers Homosexuals as "breaker of natural law" which is "bringing harmful natural diseases" such as AIDS"

Could be subject to rules against disruptive editing, more clearly explained in the essays WP:NOLGBTPHOBIA and WP:HATEDISRUPT. I would recommend you remove such statements before you get into trouble.

Speederzzz (Talk) (Stalk me) 09:10, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My personal opinion doesn't reflect in my edits. I always try to remain neutral during editing articles.
But I will remove it if it goes against the rules of Wikipedia. Do these apply in edits of the personal userpages?? Wiki N Islam (talk) 10:58, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
According to the essay WP:NOLGBTPHOBIA they do. Essays are, of course not official policy but more an explanation of policy accepted by a large part of the community. It can definitely be used against you should someone ever have a problem with your editing. I have seen statements on userpages being use at WP:ANI to argue users don't edit neutrally. So in the end I am unsure if your statement is enough to get people to bother going through the process of reporting you about it, but it can be used against you.

July 36

[edit]

Hello, thanks for translating July 36 in English. However, I was quite unsure about translating it, as articles of all non-standard dates are redirected to the List of non-standard dates, while non-English Wikipedias, including Bangla, tend to keep separate articles. The article, July 36, needs to be expanded, especially from English sources; otherwise it maybe merged into the list article someday. Also, I would request to add the date in the list with details. I am eager to join if you want to expand July 36. Please ping me. Regards — Meghmollar2017 (UTC) — 18:33, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! SerChevalerie (talk) 08:58, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I hope you are well. Can I ask a question related to creating pages? BangladeshiEditorInSylhet (talk) 11:52, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Yes, sure, you can. Ahammed Saad (talk) 15:54, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There were many militias, student organisations, small scale groups in the Bangladesh Liberation War and leaders of them, Some of them supported Liberation and some was against Liberation, I was wondering do you know of any that we can develop the page over time? BangladeshiEditorInSylhet (talk) 15:58, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for being late to reply. Actually, I could not focus in the Liberation War related articles for past few months, so I don't have knowledge about such any article. But you can go to the Mukti Bahini article, which lists such many articles, where you can check out if those lacked any info or are undeveloped. You can knock me if you need any help.
Another suggetion I want to give you that to improve the battles and freedom fighters related articles. I checked many of them, which aren't written in encyclopedic style. Ahammed Saad (talk) 17:43, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I know some names of Bahinis in the Liberation War, but there are atleast 20 more whose names I do not know, Sure I'll try to Improve articles. BangladeshiEditorInSylhet (talk) 17:50, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
