Hello, WikiEdits2003, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like this place and decide to stay.

Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Bhanuben Babariya requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hello, WikiEdits2003

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username EchidnaLives, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Bhanuben Babariya, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. To prevent the deletion, please add a reference to the article. You may remove the deletion tag yourself once the article has at least one reliable source.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|EchidnaLives}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

One District One Product moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, One District One Product, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Commenting at formal discussions such as Rfc's and Move requests

[edit]

WikiEdits2003, first of all, welcome to Wikipedia. I see that you have been commenting at the Requested Move discussion at Talk:Faizabad district. I just wanted to let you know that such discussions are not resolved based on the opinions of editors there, nor on simply counting up the "votes" to see how many people want to keep the current title, and how many want to change it to a new title. Many of your comments seem to be merely your opinion, such as "Name Ayodhya adheres Wikipedia:COMMONNAME", "Ayodhya district named after Ayodhya not Faizabad", "Districts are generally named after most populous or most popular place and Ayodhya is obviously more popular than Faizabad", and others. But this is not how we choose a new title, we do that based on Wikipedia:Article title policy, in particular, the five criteria for choosing a title. One of the criteria is WP:COMMONNAME, which you have mentioned in your comments, but simply stating your belief that Ayodhya is the common name without supplying any evidence of that, relegates your comment into the domain of speculation and preference, and when the discussion is decided by a closer, opinions and speculation are ignored, and arguments based on Wikipedia:Policy and guidelines are the only thing that count. So, if you make any further comments at the discussion (or any similar formal procedure, like an WP:RFC), please use argumentation based on policy and guidelines, or your comments may end up not being taken into consideration in the final outcome. Once again, welcome to Wikipedia, and hope you enjoy it here! Mathglot (talk) 23:13, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

so simply evidence is needed right ?? WikiEdits2003 (talk) 02:04, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for a good conversation and for helping me on Wiki Journey WikiEdits2003 (talk) 02:05, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's right. Start by reading through the WP:Article title policy, especially the section § Deciding on an article title. After you've absorbed that, then consider the page move request in the light of that policy. If you can show that the evidence of the data, as interpreted by the article title policy supports a move, you may be able to persuade other users to your view. In particular, at the end of the discussion, a very experienced user will take on the position of "Closer"—this means, they will assess the discussion, and make a decision on the outcome, by evaluating all the statements in the discussion in terms of Wikipedia policies and guidelines, disregarding pure opinion or preference, and giving more weight to those arguments which are made based on our policies. The other thing is, if you've already explained your position as well as you possibly can, then there is nothing much to be gained simply by repeating your previous arguments every time someone disagrees with you; if an editor repeats the same comments over and over again, it can be seen as disruptive; see WP:BLUDGEON for an explanation of this. If you have something new to say, or new evidence to present, by all means, add it to the discussion. But, it's probably not worth just saying things you've already said before, if there is nothing new to report. But, this is simply my view as an experienced editor, but I'm just a volunteer editor like you are, so you can use your own best judgement how to proceed. If you have any questions, feel free to reply below, or to contact me on my Talk page any time. You can also ask questions at the Wikipedia:Help desk. Mathglot (talk) 08:40, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, as I m interested in creating pages on wiki so it will help in that way WikiEdits2003 (talk) 08:45, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. Creating new pages on a topic is a complex task and is one of the tasks requiring a certain amount of experience. Start slow, around the edges of topics you are interested in, bringing some new fact to an existing article, and sourcing it properly. You may find that your early efforts are undone (we say, "reverted" at Wikipedia), but don't be discouraged, if that happens: just ask questions on the talk page of the article concerned, or on the talk page of the editor who reverted you, and ask why. Once you get to the point where you are pretty confident that your additions to existing articles are seen by other editors and not reverted, you'll be ready to take the next step toward creating a new article. That would be my recommendation of how to proceed. Mathglot (talk) 19:50, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Moving redirects

[edit]

Hey! I just went through and patrolled a bunch of redirects created from moving Southeast Asian Games articles, and I had to retarget all of them because they created double redirects. If an article is a redirect, and you want to move it to another title, you should probably create a redirect at the other title instead of moving it there – the only change is where the edit history is, and I don't see any reason for that to be moved, especially when not moving reduces the workload on new page patrollers. Cheers! Skarmory (talk • contribs) 04:36, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As the page 2023 Southeast Asian Games moved to 2023 SEA Games, therefore those articles(For example, Golf at the 2023 Southeast Asian Games) aren't showing on main page(2023 SEA Games), that's why I moved those pages to 2023 SEA Games WikiEdits2003 (talk) 06:43, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I understand that, but in this case, you can just create a redirect at Golf at the 2023 SEA Games and get the same result, without creating double-redirects that need to be fixed. It's the same result, but with less confusion. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 18:09, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Asia Cup page move

[edit]

I have reverted your page move of 2023 Asia Cup to 2023 ACC Men's Asia Cup, as this is a controversial move that would require a consensus. If you wish to move the page, please get consensus to do so at WP:RM, rather than just moving it again. That being said, most sources I can see refer to the tournament as "2023 Asia Cup", so I believe that it is the WP:COMMONNAME. Joseph2302 (talk) 08:45, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks for your contributions to List of tourist attractions in Gujarat (2). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because It is very incomplete and has a broken section. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. * Pppery * it has begun... 23:32, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 11:23, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the mistake, but my intention was not that.
DNH was a seperate territory later It was merged with another territory Daman and DiU, and the former territory became a district which infact was a district
Like Puducherry which is a district as well as a territory
If you can help with, page Dadra and Nagar Haveli to be merged with Dadra and Nagar Haveli district
Thanks for your advices WikiEdits2003 (talk) 11:46, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Because of the way that you've done this, a history merge will have to be performed by an administrator. I've already asked for that to be done. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 11:47, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
