Hi there. It is preferable that Geograph images are uploaded to Commons. They can be better organised and they are easily available to other projects. It is easy to ensure you provide all the required information by using the Wiki markup provided by the Geograph project. When you find an image to use, click the "Find out how to reuse this Image" link then scroll down to the Wikipedia section and copy the text into the basic upload form on Commons. Regards. I note that you uploaded this image and tagged it as available under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License. Unfortunately, the Flickr page contradicts this, specifying that it is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial-No Derivative Works 2.0 Generic License. Since a member of a subcategory is also a member of the parent categories, there is no need to have an article in both categories. As reviewing administrator I of course removed the tag. An assertion that one is a full professor at a university is enough by itself to pass the very low bar for indication of importance set by WP:CSD. As for actual notability, and a full professor at Cornell would almost certainly meet the standards at WP:PROF, What is needed is a check that you've got all his publication, and then a check to add book reviews of his books. let me know if there are any problems. The info. there amounts to analysis, which may or may not be valid, but as it isn't attributed to an individual it carries little weight as a source, nor are references given. Best. When uploading a chart to Wikipedia, it's helpful for those reusing the chart to know where the statistical or scientific data it represents is sourced from.

If you could provide an appropriate citation for this it would be useful.

Your message concering images

Ask an administrator for advice.

However, in general you should not ask for 'genuine freely licensed' images to be deleted, unless there is something critically wrong with them, like images which are illegal, outside project scope or which (in context) have glaring inaccuracies.

It is better to add as much information as possible, {{information}} can give an idea as to the basics, See my recent attempts at improving information on your uploads, so that the images can be transferred to Wikimedia Commons, Just because it's no longer useful here, doesn't mean it won't find a use on some other project :) Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:54, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi there, Francium.

I really wouldn't bother deleting the images; we have lots of room, and it's possible that they might be of use one day (even if somebody just snips part of one or something). It does no harm to leave them on the server.

If you do want to delete an image, the simplest way is to go to the image page, click 'edit', and at the top, put an appropriate "CSD Tag" on it. For example, you could put {{Db-f1}} on the first line, on its own. This will tag it for deletion under the F1 criteria, which is;

• Redundant. Unused duplicates or lower-quality/resolution copies of another Wikipedia file

See Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy_deletion#Files for the possible options.

It sounds to me like the main trouble is all the messages on your talk page - so please note, as soon as you've read a message and taken any action necessary (if any), it's absolutely fine for you to either delete the message, or to move it to your archive page (User talk:Francium12/Archive 1). You could also set up your talk page to 'auto-archive' - for that, see User:MiszaBot/Archive_HowTo.
