Stuff About Me
My philosophy on administrators: We're not administrators. We're merely editors with a few extra buttons. Hello! I'm Shirik, a Wikipedian since 2008 (though I really got into it in 2009). In early 2010 I became an administrator on the English Wikipedia. That doesn't mean I'm better than anyone else or have any more authority, it just means that I have a few extra buttons to carry out the same tasks I've been doing for a while. As for my life, I am a Software Architect that works for a leading UAS manufacturer. I graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and a Master's in Software Engineering (with distinction – 4.0 CGPA). I primarily work on software-based fault detection, avoidance, and recovery. I also work on some open source side projects. I am also an avid photographer, and I own a Canon 5D Mark II. I upload all of my worthy pictures to DeviantArt and you can find those pictures there, if you'd like. I also upload encyclopedic pictures to Commons and use them here when I can. Feel free to leave comments about my pictures either on that site or on my talk page. Around here, I try just to keep everything clean and orderly, though I have been known to contribute content, some of which is recognized. I value the prospect of a high-quality encyclopedia that Wikipedia can become. I frequent the recent changes list to monitor for unusual activity, and take action where it is warranted. I also monitor and patrol recently created pages to help with maintenance tagging and deletion of very inappropriate articles. Accordingly, if you're here because I reverted something you wrote or because I deleted your article, please feel free to discuss it on my talk page.
