Orphaned non-free image File:Coventry city ladies.gif

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Coventry city ladies.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. The file didn't really have a fair use rationale — it had a few small elements, but only those that anyone could supply without any difficulty. You need to supply a full rationale for all non-free images. Nyttend (talk) 04:06, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Autopatroller

Hi Clavdia chauchat, just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled right to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature should have little to no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Salvio Let's talk about it! 11:16, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Just a source documenting that the subject of the article played for the previous teams mentioned. Thanks for your help in improving the sourcing of this page. Berberisb (talk) 21:15, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Gordon Staniforth

Hi. I'm not sure if there are any policies/guidelines that give clear guidance on what to do in this instance, but I'd be inclined to remove it, especially as none of the sources currently used mention the accused's name. And if you feel Lucy Staniforth's article would pass the GNG then I'd say go for it, although there isn't much precedent on the notability of WSL players. re: AWB

Thanks for catching that. Not sure how that happened. Either AWB wasn't registering the images or I wasn't paying attention when I was going through, probably the latter. I went through my edits and reverted any other mistakes I made. That'll teach me not to fly through articles in the wee hours of the morning. Your request for rollback

Hi Clavdia chauchat. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Andorra women's national football team

If you can think of a hook for Andorra women's national football team, I would be happy to nominate it for T:TDYK now that I've moved it to the main space. I'm just not capable of thinking of a hook. :( --LauraHale (talk) 05:40, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

Notability

It would be helpful if you could return to the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Women's football teams notability, where I believe most contributors are trying hard to create an inclusive environment for women's football articles. Your constructive input would be appreciated, since there are few voices giving us blokes the other view. For what it's worth, I'm way onside to trying to help get more exposure to the women's football articles, but until we get a suitable notability guideline approach, then we're going to struggle. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:21, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

PROD protocols

When contesting the proposed deletion of an article, as you did with Bianca D'Agostino, please explain your reason for doing so on the article's talk page or in your edit summary. Sir Sputnik (talk) 13:16, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

First let me quote WP:PROD: You are encouraged, but not required, to also...Explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion, either in the edit summary or on the talk page. Second, as you've just witnessed, any experienced user will simply move an unexplained contest of a PROD to AfD. If you can't be bothered make changes that address the (usually) legitimate concerns, or explain why the concern is unwarranted, most users will simply seek an alternative route to deletion. Sir Sputnik (talk) 14:02, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

For what it's worth, any reasonable prod removed without justification will inevitably be sent to WP:AFD. That wastes even more time, especially if you could have referenced the article correctly in the first place. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:36, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Actually, you're wrong. Thanks for your input though. Clavdia chauchat (talk) 14:46, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
No, I'm not, but in any case, perhaps next time you could reference your stubs correctly though. Thanks! The Rambling Man (talk) 14:49, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
What? It's not even my article. Why should I carry out WP:BEFORE on behalf of editors who are wrongly trying to delete it? Frankly I'm still not sure why you two are here with your pettifogging, trying to get me to do stuff that I'm under no obligation to do. Clavdia chauchat (talk) 18:23, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Well let me put it more clearly, if you remove prods from football articles without explanation, I will nominate them for AFD which is a terrible waste of time if you could actually reference them rather than just remove the prod notice. This is not pettifogging, far from it, it's a reminder that not fixing issues in prod notices but simply removing them causes more work, not less. Of course, you're under no obligation to edit Wikipedia, but it would be useful if you could do it in a positive manner and respond to requests for information, clarification etc positively rather than react in this way, or worse, not react at all. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:43, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
That's great if you want to create work for yourself. And you're more than welcome to come back here and ask me to do stuff (obey imaginary 'protocols', carry out WP:BEFORE on your behalf) but please don't be offended if I decide not to! Clavdia chauchat (talk) 19:25, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
I have no problem in following the de facto procedure for people who remove prod notices with no justification whatsoever. I thought you would understand that. Clearly not. Shame. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:27, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Is Rangers now defunct?

Hi there. My view - and I may of course be wrong - is that Rangers is not yet defunct as liquidation is not finished. It is like a brain-dead patient on life-support and doctors are just waiting for the switch to be turned to off - we don't say that a patient in this situation has died until after the switch has been activated. If you can find any source that calls Rangers FC 'defunct', I would have no difficulties with the chnage but until then I think we would be premature. Regards Fishiehelper2 (talk) 20:00, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

until liquidation is complete the club or company depend who is arguing is not defunct, you can say it is as technically unless there was someone who bought the company/club prior to it being fully liquidation and pay off all there debts which for any company is very unlikely no one wants to waste thee money on someone else debts, it is not fully defunct but once liquidation is complete which might actually take another 3-6 months depending ont eh investigation after the hand over from administrators, i think until it offical liquidation it shouldn't be listedAndrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 20:09, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

Rangers dispute

I'm not sure if you aware that there is a discussion about the Rangers dispute at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football#Rangers_F.C to discuss whether there should be a single Rangers FC article instead of the two that presently exist for Rangers 1872-2012 and the Newco Rangers. Regards Fishiehelper2 (talk) 21:50, 9 July 2012 (UTC)

RE: Newco Rangers; undoing edits

I've supplied sources within my edits to provide proof that an SFL members doesn't have to be a club (it can meerely be an association), it also provides evidence within the rules that any successful SFL application is "CONDITIONAL" upon being granted SFA membership. Unless you can refute this with evidence please do not edit the 'newco' page, which is specifically redirected from "Sevco" on the Rangers FC page, which documents a company. RFC on Rangers

hiya,

ive not totally said not to do it, i am just hoping we can avoid it and get a consensus and move forward without it, it a lot more complicated to use that and if we do then we are nearing the point that arbcom would rule on it, i am sure you could agree we rather not have that as it coudl leave everyone unhappy, but if we cant get a consensus soon and move forward i will have ot go back to it.

as for the quesitons on it, i hadnt finished them i was merely deriving question that would be reuqired to take the dispute forward i am sitll trying to get them opyedited and mae more neutral and clear consis i wouldnt put it live wihtout that done first.

you may have noticed i refused to to contribute to both straw polls i have done because i dnt want ot influence them and i will change the wording of them or informaiton them because i am jsut trying to get things moved forward

thanks--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 15:21, 29 July 2012 (UTC)

Be Warned - Rangers FC - an attempt to push through a controversial 'same club' approach

Hello. You have contributed to the Newco Rangers article so I thought yuou should be made aware that an attempt is being made to undermine this article by pushing through a 'same club' approach despite many of us believing this is heavily biased and very selective use of the sources. Helena Ólafsdóttir

Hi! Thanks for reading, it makes it worthwhile when you know people enjoy something you've worked on. And thanks for the suggestions, I've made the fixes now. I don't really know where the inspiration came from, never written about a female footballer before and it only really meant to start as a fairly short article but when I realised what an interesting career she had it just started to grow! Now to set about turning some of the red links in the article blue so that there's some incoming links... Cheers, BigDom (talk) 08:42, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:2012FAWomen'sCupFinalProgramme.JPG

Thank you for uploading File:2012FAWomen'sCupFinalProgramme.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. Orphaned non-free media (File:LLFC Logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:LLFC Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:24, 11 May 2013 (UTC)

Category:Tyresö FF players

Hi there. Just wanted to let you know that when you want to "move" a category, e.g. from Category:Tyresö FF (Ladies) players to Category:Tyresö FF players, you should list it at WP:CFDS instead of creating a new category and then recategorize every article. (A bot will do the work after 48 hours). Keep up the good work with the women's football. Cheers, Mentoz86 (talk) 12:49, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

No problem. Must be kinda timeconsuming to manually recategorize all those players. :) Mentoz86 (talk) 20:30, 7 June 2013 (UTC)

TemplateData is here

Hey Clavdia chauchat

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

UEFA Euro 2013

Hey, good work with the templates. But there was a reason i waited before creating it, there were some replacements made. I know it's not a big deal but that's the case at every tournament. Please check back if those are in your templates. Kante4 (talk) 21:04, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

And i made a change for Italy (Tono out #5) as of FIGC.it, i think uefa.com will have that one tomorrow. Yep, but i have nout found the italian/spain ones wherever i looked... You got any ideas? Those worldfootball.com and stuff is not up to date. uefa.com and their press kits just have the EC caps/goals. Kante4 (talk) 21:26, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
No worries, they are updated as of the last game played, so no tweaking needed. ;) Yeah, no chance then. I googled for some italian players but nothing found, really a shame as it should not be so hard to have them right as a national federation... Kante4 (talk) 21:43, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Yep, did it on the weekend. ;) I was surprised Spain and Italy had no caps/goals shown. I will try to search for more but i fear the worst... Kante4 (talk) 22:03, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I did not mean WP:ELNO, I meant WP:NONENGEL, which discourages foreign language external links. If you want to use those in a citation it's fine, but they shouldn't be used as external links. Mentoz86 (talk) 23:16, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Damallsvenskan photos

Hi Clavdia,

While working on another article today, I found some photos for Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC by a photographer on Flickr that are the correct license for use on Wikipedia and then discovered that he had a lot more. Here are a few links if they are useful for your work on the Goteborg article or any of the Damallsvenskan-related articles.

DYK nomination for Andrine Hegerberg‎

I recently nominated the Andrine Hegerberg article for DYK. Thanks for your recent edits to it. I noticed you added a contradiction tag with her sister Ada's article, which I think I fixed on both but was curious if you'd mind taking a look at both articles and helping refine them? Mentoz86 is apparently also working on them and this one too. Thank you. Hmlarson (talk) 01:35, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Top flight notability

I'm genuinely interested as to why you think top division players in Ireland are more notable than their fourth-level counterparts in England. The average attendance in the LOI top division is 1,645; in League Two it's 4,389. If almost three times more people are going to watch the players in League Two every week, how can the Irish players be more notable? Number 57 06:56, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

@Number57, WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTY should be applied. If comparsions are going to be used, EL2 gets 0.0008% (roughly 4,500/53,000,000) of the English poplutaion, LOIPrem gets 0.0035% (1,600/4,500,000 again roughy) of the Irish population. So in essence the LOI has 4 times the comparitive attendence, since your comparing, and in that respect is indeed more notable, but we dont use these. Murry1975 (talk) 11:24, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
I think that's a statistical fallacy as by that calculation, Faroese footballers would probably be the most notable in Europe (will check.figures later). Notability is absolute, not relative. BTW,.I agree with WP:NFOOTY, but am querying why Clavdia does not. Number 57 12:32, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation issue

Hey Clavdia. The other article listed on the dab page is not named this any longer and was only so-named briefly, so the topic you are working on is the primary topic. As such, it should occupy the direct title, and a hatnote should be added to the top of it pointing at the other, using a form not unlike {{For|the Irvine, California soccer team|Orange County Blue Star}} (The dab page should not exist.) See WP:TWODABS. Because you won't be able to move this yourself, just hit me up on my talk page when you are ready to make the move (you could also make a request at WP:RM/TR but I'm usually around sometime during any given day). Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 23:25, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
