Infobox hurricane current and other basinsIs there any way to get {{Infobox hurricane current}} to work for other basins and their relevant terminology? There have been cases of users adding incorrect or non-working infoboxes to season articles that the template doesn't yet work for, such as the NIO. I'd do it myself but I'm not sure how to navigate the code (templates have never been my forte). --Coredesat 22:47, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Unexplained article moveHi, Tito; I need to bring this to someone who understands the issue in Spanish. By moving it from the question mark to the explanation point (contrary to sources and with no discussion), the article is now POV, implying that the king demanded rather than asked (that it was an imperative rather than a query). All of the sources I have seen use a question mark, and since I'm not an admin, I can't move it back. I'm also not sure if I can post a request at Requested moves, since I don't know if CieloEstrellado will challenge. I'll also post to Jossi, since he speaks Spanish. Categories and more The project has gone under somewhat of a revamping. We have a new, more realistic goal. The members list has been dropped from 89 to 34. This newsletter is to inform users of a change in policy with categories. Previously, an Atlantic and Pacific storm article would have both Category:Atlantic hurricanes and Category:Category 3 tropical cyclones. However, the two were combined, resulting in Category:Category 3 Atlantic hurricanes. The same is done with Pacific hurricanes. Request for peer reviewHi, I saw your name on the wikipedia:peer review volunteer page. I'm currently working on a science article called the Kardashev Scale, the page has gone through a lot of changes in the last 3 months, some of them reverts that I wish to overturn. I've sent out some notices to people who have worked on the page previously but I'm having problems getting open opinions and feedback. Their ideas about what they want the article to be about and look like are pretty set. I need outside opinion. In my opinion the Kardashev scale has 3 primary interests:
My primary goals are in advancing the content area of number 2 and diminishing the fictional content. After all, it is a scientific not a fictional topic. My secondary goals are to find and add published content on the extension of the scale. The feedback I have gotten is pretty much divided between goals 1 or 3. And I don't want to create a editing war! So please read the article and the discussion page and tell me what you think!!

Wikiwork and 1000 articles In January 2008, the WikiProject began using a system called Wikiwork, or ω. It weighs the overall quality of the project's articles, and a lower number means a greater total quality. The weighed ω, as used above, is a relative number that can be used to compare groups of this article. As of this publication, the relative ω of the project is 3.404, corresponding to between Start and B class. However, when limiting it solely to storm articles, the number drops to 2.98, which is slightly better than B class. During the month, a new statistics page was created. Additionally, during the month, Mitchazenia pointed out that we received our 1,000th article with the creation of Cyclone Elita. Welcome back!Wow, I got worried for a while after you fell off the face of Wikipedia. RollbackSorry its taken a bit to get back to you. I see you're getting to grips with the new functions. Implementation was rather controversial, with mixed views as to whether consensus was reached for the feature. ArbCom refused to hear a case about it. Both Jimbo and Anthere have commented on the implementation - Jimbo here and Anthere here if you're interested. As to the practicalities of assignment, we seem to be seeing two views from admins. One believes that anyone who is not an idiot and hasn't abused the tool should be given rollback, the other regards it as purely an anti-vandalism tool to be given out to those involved in reverting vandalism (who have a demonstrated history of correctly identifying vandalism). I think the former is becoming the dominant view of those actively giving out the right. I do worry a little that this is creating a new class of user, rather than just assigning a new function and there has in my opinion been some fairly disappointing use of the function - giving rollback to users who have not asked for it and so not want it, admins giving themselves rollback when this does nothing and just makes it harder to keep track of who has the permission in the rights log, and the assignment of the rights to "joke" secondary accounts that clearly won't be involved in vandal fighting. Ultimately, admins are selected for a demonstrated ability to make good judgment calls - if you believe someone will make good use of the rollback right, its probably a good idea to give it to them (though I recommend asking first...). The record shows you deleted it. But I don't see a record of where the discussion of its deletion occurred. Was this article about the Mike Silver who was one of the participants in the controversial skirmish where Omar Khadr is alleged to have killed a GI? Could you please userify this article, its edit history and talk page, to User:Geo Swan/Guantanamo/Mike Silver? I was going to expand the Mike Silver article with the new information about that skirmish, and I was very surprised to learn the article didn't exist, had once existed, and had been deleted. Template:WP1.0/assessmentsCertain projects (Wikipedia:WikiProject Philadelphia, for instance) are using Cat, cat, Dab, and dab as parameters for "class" to distinguish among various types of non-article pages. Unfortunately, Template:WikiProject Philadelphia uses Template:WP1.0/assessments to generate Pennsylvania article assessments for all of its pages, and so pages with those parameters are marked as "Unassessed" when they should be treated as "NA" pages. Would it be possible to include them in the swtich statement in the WP1.0 template? I thought I'd drop by and ask since you seem to have done the work for it. What you saw when you deleted it may have been a stub, because the article has been deleted a few times before and people who had re-included info may have only added just links, and so on. Storm of the month  Cyclone Ivan formed on February 7 and subsequently executed a loop to the west-southwest. Encountering favorable conditions, it strengthened to attain peak winds on February 17 before striking northeastern Madagascar. It degenerated into a remnant low pressure area as it crossed the island, and briefly re-organized into a weak tropical depression before dissipating on February 22. Improvements During the month, a total of 15 new articles were added, though the net increase in start or stub articles was only three. The highest quality set of articles for a basin is for the Eastern Pacific Ocean, of which half of its articles are either a good article or better; all of its retired storm articles are good or better. However, the basin has a lower total number of articles, and the Atlantic basin has a higher overall total of good articles.
