Disambiguation link notification for July 26
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Joseph Jardine, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Jardine. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Che Kung Miu Road has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable street in Hong Kong. The article fails to provide sufficient sources or even details in the text, to support its notability. Delete as per Wikipedia:Notability and WP:RS. Note that existence does not prove notability.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rincewind42 (talk) 08:46, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Prehistoric Hong Kong
Hello. I have attempted to improve the Prehistoric Hong Kong article, which proves to be a rather difficult task. Looking at the article history, I saw that you had added much of the content of the current lede, back in March 2011. Would you mind looking at it again, and maybe clarify it a bit? Also, you wrote "Archaeology evidence suggests the earliest human settlement was in the Chek Lap Kok area dating back to 33,000 – 37,000 BC", which seems to be inaccurate. The link for the ref given in the article is broken, and this is most likely the archived version. It does not seem to support the claim, and the oldest site in HK seems to be Wong Tei Tung. Again, do you think you could clarify this? Thank you! Underwaterbuffalo (talk) 23:13, 11 November 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for reaching out to me, I'll take a look when I have a chance. ThisAvatar (discuss–?) 23:24, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

I don't know what you are trying to do, but please, if you object, try another RM. The previous RM was closed as "moved"; talk to Dekimasu. --George Ho (talk) 19:33, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Names of Hong Kong people
I live in the United States, and you live in China or Hong Kong. Perhaps disregarding recent consensus is disruptive. Try looking at talk pages first before moving, and please read WP:CAREFUL. Maybe we should discuss this matter at talk pages, like WP:VPP or WP:NC-ZH or WT:NAME. --George Ho (talk) 20:12, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hong Kong people name has always been a gray area because there's not exactly a naming convention established for "Hong Kong" due to political reasons (the whole Hong Kong belongs to China talk). Over the years, we were only able to use the small details given in the WP:NC-ZH#Romanization of names section to a minor extend. Over the years, editors from Hong Kong just agreed on an informal naming convention for people's name. If they have an English name, we follow the standard naming convention "First Last", if they don't, we use the Chinese naming convention "Last First". It seems to some extends as disruptive and vandalizing when someone came out of nowhere and started using the hybrid names like the one you suggest, "First Last First". Check for the commonality in all the biography pages first. Same name would apply disambiguation using (). Only exception we allowed was the two Tony Leung with both being actor. TheAvatar (discuss–?) 20:34, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- To which policy or guideline are you referring? WP:NCP is not adequate for Hong Kong people; neither is WP:NC-ZH. --George Ho (talk) 00:14, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- "Chinese names should be written in Hanyu Pinyin unless there is a more common romanization used in English" Since Hong Kong uses Cantonese, we replace Pinyin with Hong Kong Chinese spelling, it should've been clarify. If we follow your logic, imagine requesting for a change from "Jackie Chan" to "Jackie Chan Kong-sang". TheAvatar (discuss–?)
- The guideline that you cited doesn't discourage combining Chinese and English names into one Hong Kong name. Didn't you look over "Hong Kong" in your search tools? Have you heard of WP:NOTBUREAUCRACY and WP:IAR? We should not interpret rules too strictly. And we can improve when these rules prevent us from improving Wikipedia. One example is Connie Mak Kit-man; she hasn't been recognized, despite passing WP:notability (people) and WP:notability. --George Ho (talk) 00:03, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

You accused me of something that I've not done. I notified 67.70.35.44 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) about your blatant accusation on both of us. For the record, I have filed SPIs before and regretted accusing one of something that the person hasn't done yet. Perhaps you should as well. If you have problems with titles on Hong Kong people, notify me before you do something reckless, and please read WP:five pillars or WP:CAREFUL. --George Ho (talk) 23:58, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- Ok, that might have gone overboard, but I need some sort of closure on this suspicion through the right channel, and User:Dekimasu mentioned "I should restrict my comments, if I was not going to open a sockpuppet investigation". I haven't seen you around before, and probably the same goes for you. I honesty do not know what your intend is. I have written and edited many of the Hong Kong biography pages over the last few years, and I am not as active as I'm used to be. Whenever I have time, I try to do tons of things on a single day. I apologize if I have taken your changes too personal. I'm willing to drop this whole accusation thing, once the SPI ends. TheAvatar (discuss–?) 16:58, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
- Apology accepted; now add your comments there to clear things up. For the record, I have created Samantha Lam (singer) and Ken Choi (singer), and I have cleaned up Keith Chan Fai-young. Perhaps don't try to rename "Keith Chan Fai-young". Instead of move-warring with me or anyone else, at least you have chosen the right path, creating RMs and one MRV, whose venue is nearly unnoticed. --George Ho (talk) 17:20, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
- Also, I did create Connie Mak Kit-man (which started out as "Connie Mak"), and I initiated a move discussion at Talk:Ivy Ling Po, which was closed as "no consensus". --George Ho (talk) 17:23, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
- That's part of the reason why I reached out to WT:NC-ZH for a definitive answer on how to proceed from here on, otherwise everyone will have their own interpretation on how the format should be if we don't clear things up now. TheAvatar (discuss–?) 17:32, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
- The investigation is closed as "no action"; I hope something like this never happens again. If you want to locate any IP, use WHOIS tool next time. Okay? --George Ho (talk) 20:51, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
- I'd blame the Ogre in me. :) TheAvatar (discuss–?) 21:34, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
