- Dear Celestina007, how very kind you are in thanking me for such a small, joyful deed! I am so happy that I can help the WikiProject; I truly hope the articles I have started go on to become good articles. Happy New Year to you! Kindest regards, Spinster300 (talk) 17:05, 5 January 2022 (UTC).

- Charmed, Celestina007! Please feel free to ping me if in case there are any biographies from any other WikiProjects or anywhere else on Wikipedia that need to be started; I fancy myself comfortable with starting stubs for interesting people, be they historical or living. Good day to you. Kindest regards, Spinster300 (talk) 17:13, 5 January 2022 (UTC).
- There is WP:RA where editors list articles they want to see created. You may want to test the waters with that and ping me to do a quick review for you if you do not want the article to stay in the new pages feed for long. Be sure to create articles you are only comfortable with. If in doubt, leave me a message on my talkpage. Celestina007 (talk) 17:21, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you very kindly, Celestina007! I am already a member of Requested Articles and have thus far created many articles off the lists there, as you can see from my contribution history! I will surely ping you if I run into trouble. Kindest regards, Spinster300 (talk) 17:25, 5 January 2022 (UTC).

Dearest Celestina007, I would like to gently invite you to review the several articles I started in the month January from Women in Red and Requested Articles! Please feel free to leave me some feedback, if you have any. Some of my created articles may have been reviewed already, but I would like to not leave a backlog on New Page Patrol. Thank you, kindly! Sincerest regards, Spinster300 (talk) 16:47, 3 February 2022 (UTC).
Dhananjay Datar moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Dhananjay Datar, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. DMySon (talk) 12:51, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
- Dear DMySon, thank you for informing me of your changes to the stub I created. I was quite certain that this particular biography passed WP:GNG, but I will defer to your expertise. I have no interest in developing the article further, as I wanted to merely create the stub and let others take over. I kindly request you to ask volunteers over on the WikiProjects for India or Business to develop the draft, else it will be automatically discarded in six months. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 12:57, 6 January 2022 (UTC).

Appreciate creating Julia da Costa
Plan to expand it? - Tame (talk) 18:59, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
- Dear Tamingimpala, thank you for appreciating my article creation. Might I say what a lovely username you have? To answer your question, I am not presently planning to expand the article. As you can see from my contributions, I love to participate on this project by starting articles on interesting people and letting editors with thorough research experience take over.
- If you offer to collaborate on expanding this article, I welcome that prospect. It will be something new for me, and I appreciate getting this experience; perhaps it will encourage me, in my future articles, to create substantial articles right from the get-go, instead of the stubs I usually start. Do let me know what you have in mind. Kindest regards, Spinster300 (talk) 06:02, 15 February 2022 (UTC).

Speedy deletion nomination of Ishita Katyal
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Ishita Katyal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ishita Katyal. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Onel5969 TT me 11:51, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
- Dear Onel5969, thank you for informing me about the speedy deletion nomination. I did not realise the page might be an issue until much after I had created it, at which point I was not sure how to proceed since the subject had authored a book since the previous article's single event mention of her TED talk. I am certain the appropriate measures of deletion and maintenance will be followed through now. Thank you! Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 12:24, 28 February 2022 (UTC).
- No worries. And just because I nominated for G4 doesn't mean it will be deleted for that reason. If it is different enough from the article which was deleted (which I can't, but admins can, see), then they'll remove the speedy tag. However, it still might not pass notability standards, seeming to be a case of BIO1E. Onel5969 TT me 12:49, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
- Dear Onel5969, I initially thought that might be the case as well, but since I saw she had gone on to do other things, such as write a book, I didn't think too much about it. In any case, I shall await the outcome of the speedy deletion. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 13:03, 28 February 2022 (UTC).

Drafts that have not been edited for six months may be deleted, so if you wish to retain the page, please edit it again or request that it be moved to your userspace.

- Dear Alexandermcnabb, I would like to invite you to take a look at this article as it concerns the UAE.
- Dear SusunW, I would also like to invite you to take a look at this article as it concerns an Indian expatriate in the UAE.
- I am not sure why the article was drafted – the subject seems like a notable tradesman who has been reputably ranked by business publications and rewarded by the Indian government; could it be a problem with the sources? They all seem like reputable publications, unless it is the news articles themselves which are overtly promotional in nature. Please take a look if you can find the time, thank you! Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 06:15, 24 June 2022 (UTC).
Hiya. Look, there are excellent sources for this article - including this and this one and this from the Deccan Herald, which all speak to his 'rags to riches' story and add to his prominence as a UAE-based Indian businessman. If you fancy adding those sources to the article and some facts from them and then let me know, I'll happily patrol the draft and it can then go on to live a rich and happy life in mainspace! Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 09:04, 24 June 2022 (UTC)
- Dear Alexandermcnabb, I have added some data from the sources as you suggested. I am happy to move the article into main space, if you feel it has sufficiently met the notability guidelines. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 10:32, 28 June 2022 (UTC).

New articles from other language Wikis
Hiya. I was wondering, could I possibly ask you to consider putting more content into those new articles? Many I have seen now at New Page Patrol have been a single line with three sources and a language tag placed on creation - but the other language article has a great deal more potential - and content. Would you perhaps be open to spending a little more time on creating a better quality article than lots of single line articles that are then left to other editors to flesh out from the foreign language source? Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 14:17, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
- Dear Alexandermcnabb, thank you very much for inviting me to expand the articles I have created. I find myself slightly daunted at the notion of expanding articles all by myself, even if it is from other language Wikis. I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused when reviewing my stub article creations. However, I must say that I enjoy contributing to Wikipedia in my own small way, and over the years I have gained confidence in creating decent stub articles that have everything necessary for their expansion from experienced copyeditors. I thank you sincerely for your encouragement, and I will surely try my best to expand my future stubs. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 06:05, 24 June 2022 (UTC).

Anarchism
Hi Spinster300,
I saw your work on articles related to anarchism and wanted to say hello, as I work in the topic area too. If you haven't already, you might want to watch our noticeboard for Wikipedia's coverage of anarchism, which is a great place to ask questions, collaborate, discuss style/structure precedent, and stay informed about content related to anarchism. Take a look for yourself!
And if you're looking for other juicy places to edit, consider expanding a stub, adopting a cleanup category, or participating in one of our current formal discussions.
Feel free to say hi on my talk page and let me know if these links were helpful (or at least interesting). Hope to see you around. czar 18:16, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

Does RERO in Authority control need an update?
This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
(Not many Wikipedians seem to be monitoring the Talk of Module:Authority control, and because my previous query went unanswered for months and was eventually archived without much discussion, I am posting my latest query here.)
Dear Wikipedians, I have noticed that in the case of the RERO ID in our Authority control template, the out-linking URL and the digits of the authority identifier might need an update. Might someone with better knowledge of this take a look? Take the example of Voltaire (which is an example in the RERO ID's Wikidata): the link his authority data connects to does not seem to work anymore, please see here. On RERO's website, the link now connects to a new "MEF ID" and different URL ending digits from the ones we have for him (02-A000173676); please see here. Would appreciate some insight on what can be done to connect to the updated RERO catalogue. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 11:52, 20 September 2022 (UTC).
- Unfortunately, a one-off passing editor answering your {{help me}} is probably not going to have the background or knowledge to be able to effectively answer your question. I notice that you have asked the same question at Template_talk:Authority_control#Does_RERO_need_an_update?, which is good. If you do not get a response there, I would suggest cross-posting to WP:VPT, as they tend to deal with more technical matters. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 17:22, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Dear Primefac, thank you for responding to me enquiry. I will wait some more time for responses on the Authority control template talk page, and proceed to the technical Village Pump with my query if there is no response from other Wikipedians. I thank you sincerely for taking the time for stopping by! Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 17:32, 20 September 2022 (UTC).

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. The article Brian H. Dierker has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not enough in-depth coverage to meet WP:GNG.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Onel5969 TT me 12:45, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
- Dear Onel5969, how are you? I hope you have been keeping well since we last corresponded! Thank you for this notice regarding your proposed deletion, I am not sure where I can find further in-depth sources about the subject online at this time; might you have any suggestions? I was thinking about local newspapers in the subject's area of work, but I don't have access to those records in person. Should we consider drafting this article for the time being in this case? Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 10:48, 15 March 2023 (UTC).
- If you think you might be able to come up with the extra sourcing needed, but can't get to it right now, by all means we should move it to draft. If you'd like me to do that for you, simply ask (and make sure you ping me so I see it ). Onel5969 TT me 12:39, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
- Dear Onel5969, please go ahead and move it to draft space, thank you. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 12:41, 15 March 2023 (UTC).

- Dear Plutonium27, thank you for this notice regarding your proposed deletion. Would the subject not pass point number 3 over at WP:AUTHOR? The news articles I have referenced for this subject (and several of them that are available online and on the other language Wikis) are generally about her writing career and her significant multi-million book sales. Please also note that on the subject's WorldCat (as listed in the article's Authority Control template) it states that the subject has "401 works in 980 publications in 11 languages and 2,253 library holdings". Regardless, I will defer to your experience in editing on this. Please proceed with deleting or to drafting the article as you see fit, thank you. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 11:07, 15 March 2023 (UTC).
Your recent contributions
You have submitted many recent articles. However these are mostly Wikipedia:Stub that lack detail and most importantly Wikipedia:Reliable sources and/or evidence of Wikipedia:Notability (people). Please read and understand the Wikipedia:Article creation guidelines, and improve the articles you have already created before making further submissions.Plutonium27 (talk) 15:21, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Dear Plutonium27, I thank you for your message and your concerns. Indeed, in the 4 years I have been on Wikipedia, I admit that I have been more comfortable starting articles, as I am not very comfortable nor confident in expanding the copy of the text to the encyclopaedic standard we strive for. I usually translate articles from other languages that are missing on the English Wikipedia, write a concise paragraph's worth of text describing the subject's importance/notability, and leave the appropriate references and templates for other interested editors to take over.
- In the close to 400 articles I have started in my time here, maybe a handful have missed the mark in terms of notability or reliability in their sourcing (and appropriate actions have been taken for their deletion and/or improvement with the kind help of other editors). Yet, I remain politely confident that I do my due diligence in translating the articles I start (mostly from Women in Red redlists) and try and include the best sources possible for the stubs I create (adhering to WP:THREE or WP:BASIC at least, if not WP:GNG). Many of my articles have been taken over by experienced copyeditors and expanded; I give Dora Beets and Maria Austria as recent examples of this.
- Still, if you feel my editing pattern is not helpful and is creating a backlog at New Page Patrol, I might consider applying for auto-patrolled rights. In such a case I do get auto-patrolled, and if my future article creations have any issues – like the one you have proposed for deletion – I am sure an experienced editor/administrator will do the needful in proposing a deletion/making improvements.
- Once again, I thank you sincerely for your message. I can sympathise with your frustration at my recent quantity of article creations. I was away for sometime, and when I found a few days off recently, I went on a little bit of a spree. Kindest regards, Spinster300 (talk) 07:00, 15 March 2023 (UTC).
- Dear Spinster300
- The problem with creating so many stubs (your "concise paragraph" is invariably just one or two lines) goes beyond any burden for the oft-troubled New Page Patrol. Stubs - notoriously those concerning [[WP:BLP]] - abound on Wikipedia. Translations of stubs from other-language wiki articles are just one way these happens; list-making is another. If no-one flags such articles early (and I don't know the % of new articles NPP usually reviews but it depends upon workload as well as the ability and motivation of those involved - and of course not everyone puts their work to such reviews) then the article is left in this unsatisfactory state, frequently for years. Absent a chance or enthusiast's encounter, only the creator can or will expand these (where possible) to the necessary encyclopaedic level. IMO a creator who racks up the numbers but makes no further effort to expand, edit or research the articles they create does both Wikipedia and the subjects of their articles a disservice - "quality stubs" being a contradiction in wiki terms.
- I see you have since applied to [[User: Swarm]] with a view to evaluating your chances of acquiring auto-patrolled rights (I also see your descriptions/perceptions of your motivations re editing). I would urge you to please revisit the subjects of your "spree" (and indeed all such stubs you've created) and endeavour to improve (where possible) these articles before seeking an expanded role. Best - Plutonium27 (talk) 17:35, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
- Dear Plutonium27, thank you so much for your valuable insight! I understand much better where your concerns are coming from, and I see where I have made my mistake. I would like to take this opportunity to clarify that I had no ill will harboured against any Wikipedia processes when I made any of my articles. I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to you or to others at New Page Patrol. I shall take a look at my stubs and try and expand them to the best of my abilities. May I ping you to have a look whenever possible? I would completely understand if you would rather spend your time on other tasks. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 17:57, 15 March 2023 (UTC).
- Ping - sure. Might take me a while, I'm old and slow ;) but I'll do my best. Plutonium27 (talk) 17:59, 15 March 2023 (UTC)

Autopatrolled
Hi Spinster300, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Joe (talk) 18:40, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- Dear Joe Roe, this is such a thrill! Thank you so much! I had wondered about putting in a request a while ago for these rights, but I did not feel confident that I would make the cut. I persevere to make good and diligent use of them.
- Since browsing your user page, I am quite tickled into a taking a look at interesting and notable women archeologists who deserve an article on the English Wikipedia over at Women in Red. If I do, I hope I can reach out to you to take a look, even if my articles will be reviewed automatically henceforth.
- And yes, please let me know how and where I should apply to become a new page patroller; but perhaps after I have gained some more confidence with my own new rights. I would love to do my small part. Thank you once again, and kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 11:19, 5 July 2023 (UTC).
- Glad to hear it! You might be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject Archaeology/Women in archaeology task force, in that case. I've neglected it for too long, but @Lajmmoore: might have more of an idea of where the red lists for archaeologists stand.
- It might be an idea to try out WP:AFC or WP:AFD before new page patrolling – it's not mandatory, but it helps you get a feel for quality control work. You can request NPP at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/New page reviewer. – Joe (talk) 15:00, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
- Dear Joe Roe, thank you so much! I will look into these WikiProjects. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 05:42, 6 July 2023 (UTC).
- hello @Spinster300 if you're interested in Women and Archaeology, there's also redlists under WikiProject Women in Red for archaeologists (under occupation). It's a very supportive project and people are keen to help! If you'd like an introduction on the talk page, let me know! Lajmmoore (talk) 06:31, 16 July 2023 (UTC)

In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap! |
