I was about to decline the speedy on this when you deleted it. I ask that you reverse your action. As an attempt at a plausible draft for a Wikipedia article this was clearly not a U5, and while it surely did not establish notability, i don't think it was at the G11 level of promotion. I therefore ask that you undelete it. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 22:04, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

@DESiegel: The influencer piece of the article with the Instagram link combined with the username (indicative of undisclosed self-promotional COI) pushed it to solidly G11 territory for me, but reasonable minds may differ. You are correct about the U5. Have gone ahead and un-deleted. Best, SpencerT•C 23:06, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. have removed the instagram link, and left a comment for the draft creator. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 23:26, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

Please remove 86.133.93.143's TPA

Hello.

86.133.93.143 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is using their talk page to attack Wikipedia and keeps making rude comparisons. Can you revoke their TPA? SuperGoose007 (Honk!) 17:02, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

Done by User:Ponyo. Thanks, SpencerT•C 17:10, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

Urgent semi-protection for Grammy Award

Hi there, I noticed that you were one of the admins online right now. Would you be able to look at Grammy Award? There is a high level of disruption from multiple IP addresses and new user accounts that started earlier today. It has been difficult to catch up with the high volume of edits. Would you be able to semi-protect this page to avoid further disruption? Thanks! TribunalMan (talk) 21:49, 16 August 2020 (UTC)

Hello

Hello Spencer, this is to inform you that I have completed the NPP schooling and am now a certified graduate. I have made a request at WP:RFP/NPR as you requested. Sorry for not informing you of my training last time, but thank you for believing that I was up for that role. Regards Megan Barris (Lets talk📧) 23:45, 16 August 2020 (UTC)

Deleted page

Hi! I'd like to recover a page. It was written on a sandbox (which I was using to test things out). I understand the page I was trying to create may sound like a business listing, but I would like to try it out once more using sources that pass the notability test. Hope you could help me recover the page. Thanks! Tongcdo (talk) 12:13, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

Brazilian states

Minor discussion on /r/AskSocialScience led to the realization that a certain user is making edits to Brazil state pages with an obvious political agenda. A simple removal of each of the references from the first paragraphs of each state is my suggestion to remedying the issue, as well as... I dunno, whatever you do when a user keeps writing offensive, politically charged edits. Zeek Aran (talk) 15:02, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

It is the same user with old edits. Go ahead and revert/remove, but you may need to go through the contribs. SpencerT•C 15:05, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

Article deleted - I'd like a copy of it so I can make the necessary changes

As mentioned in the title, my article was deleted from my sandbox, I'd like a copy so I can make the necessary changes.

my sandbox article was because i was planning to create an article

i used my sandbox to create a draft about an article i was going to create. it was going to be my first article so I decided i would create a draft in my sandbox first. Please don't delete my sandbox, i need it to create my enhanced article that i was going to publish. I am a bit new so I was not aware that my sandbox was open to the public. Again, i was only using my sandbox to create a draft. Please do not delete my sandbox, I need it. Thank you if you read this. I hope my situation comes to your concern. 19 April 2020. Query 2

Hi, yesterday i made an article called "Replayed co" which was removed today for advertising. I believe that the article wasnt advertising, since the entire article was just talking about the history of the company, i mostly used official information from UK GOV . this is my first ever article on this site and i posted it as a draft. i have no connection with this company whatsoever, it was just a little history wikipage. i can confirm that every line is quoted from multiple sources and i was just straight up being unbiased. Is there any chance if i can get the page recovered so at least i can double, if not, triple check for anything that may have made the article feel like an advertisement. Hi, yesterday I had put an article I'm working on in my sandbox which was removed today for web hosting. I believe that the article wasn't web hosting at all since the entire article was just talking about the biography of the artist "Nicky Tino", I mostly used official information directly from the artist and other sources as well. This is my first ever article on this site and I posted it as a draft. I have no connection with this artist whatsoever, it was just a drafted biography. I can confirm that every line is quoted from multiple sources and I was just straight up being unbiased. Is there any chance if I can get the page recovered so at least I can double, if not, triple check for anything that may have made the article feel like it was "web hosting".

Hey there, hope I'm following the right etiquette on reviving this. It seems all my changes were reverted as vandalism by user Junperson. How should I proceed? Zeek Aran (talk) 21:10, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
As a note, the lines I'm removing are not only politically motivated, but redundant data that doesn't belong in a a top paragraph when it's just copy and pasted from the table on the base States of Brazil page. Also when the data updates, as all population and GDP data does, keeping it to the sortable table rather than spread across all the individual state pages sounds much easier. Zeek Aran (talk) 21:14, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
The user reverted your edits stating they are vandalism. I encourage you to check out Wikipedia:Dispute resolution: why don't you reach out on their talk page? SpencerT•C 01:12, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Will do, thanks. Zeek Aran (talk) 13:20, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Response to your comment on my contributions.

Hello, thank you for voicing your concern and comment on my recent contributions. I have cited my additions, showing that they are not promotional content but merely additions to the works of the person. His new role and job description along with his new book were not included on his Wikipedia page and so I made those additions for Steve Davis (business). Thank you! 89.111.226.177

While 89.111.226.177 was definitely not being constructive, I don't think it's the LTA that the filter was trying to catch, so I feel like 72 hours might be excessive. Thoughts? Jackmcbarn (talk) 04:34, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

@Jackmcbarn: Seems fair. However, the filter pings did spread over a 9-hour period, not just a limited point in time, which is a little unusual. Will re-adjust the block length to 48 hours (typically 24-31 is first-line for me, but that could be a shade short for such a long length of active disruption). Will try to keep an eye on the IP's activity but will be traveling soon. Best, SpencerT•C 04:46, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

Require your eyes at WP:ITNRD

Pardon this out of band disruption. Please can I have you take a look at my action at WP:ITNRD, specifically this one. I believe I have addressed your concern. It has been some time since this article has been waiting. Appreciate your attention / acknowledgement. If there are any additional changes, I can have them covered now, but, will be going to bed in a bit, and that would mean a lost opportunity. Appreciate your inputs. Ktin (talk) 02:47, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

I still am not "thrilled" by the article but you've put a good amount of work in and outside of me there is consensus to post. I typically prefer another admin to post if I don't think it's quite ready, but as I mentioned in my comment there, I'm not opposed, so I'll go ahead and post it. SpencerT•C 02:53, 19 September 2020 (UTC)
Spencer, Appreciate it. To be clear, my intent is / was not to short circuit any quality concerns. Happy to incorporate any edits, as I have done in the past in a few of the articles where you have had comments. I genuinely think feedback is a gift. Just wanted to keep an eye on the clock, and this article did pass the hygiene checks. Anyways, onwards and upwards! Regards, Ktin (talk) 03:04, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

Spencer, I continue to remain extremely appreciative of what you do to push the envelope to maintain standards at WP:ITNRD. At the end of the day, the articles are definitely richer. I call it the Spencer Standard! Thanks for what you do! Ktin (talk) 05:04, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

Thanks, hopefully other article assessors will also look for quality and depth of coverage in RD nominations (seems like others have begun to comment more frequently on it), rather then the frequent "resume in prose format" style article that frequently appears. Referencing alone does not an article make. SpencerT•C 16:40, 25 September 2020 (UTC)

Warning users

When you decline a report at AIV it's best to leave them a warning if appropriate. I gave then a {{uw-vandalism2}}, as I wasn't really sure. If there is a reason not to give them a warning, feel free to delete the page and then tell me. But because it's 10:03 PM in my location, I have to go to bed. --67.85.37.186 (talk) 02:03, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for leaving a warning. I wasn't sure if the original nominator had a reason to not warn and direct-report to AIV, so I was asking for more clarification. I wasn't familiar enough with the situation to give a warning myself. Best, SpencerT•C 02:49, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi Spencer, I'm fixing some harv ref errors and there's two on Homs that I'm unsure about and hoped as a main contributer you might be able to assist. Ref 35 and 37 (Schlumberger 1939) don't go to any source in the bibliography, would you know what sources is missing? Best - Aza24 (talk) 19:16, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

Oh boy, last time I did substantial work on the article was over 10 years ago. At that time, it doesn't look like we used that source. Lemme take a look into the history to see if there's anything I might be missing. SpencerT•C 19:33, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
@Aza24: Looks like that source was added by User:Recruos here, who has since been blocked as a sockpuppet. Unfortunately, I don't know anything more than that. Best, SpencerT•C 19:42, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

Hola! Just checked, you might have inadvertently missed giving credits for the most recent WP:ITN and WP:ITNRD posts viz. 2020 New Zealand general election and Tom Maschler. When you get a bit, please can I request you to do so. Cheers. Ktin (talk) 21:08, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

Please help

Please help to block 120.188.0.0/16 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · block user · block log). The range contains numerous IP vandals including those who constantly bully me. He also uses 114.5.0.0/16 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · block user · block log), which is currently blocked for only 1 month. I think it should be blocked for far longer. The addresses are Indosat and originated from Surabaya/Sidoarjo, East Java. Please consider. I am tired of being abused here almost everyday since June. Thanks. Flix11 (talk) 10:23, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi @Flix11:, due to lack of experience/familiarity, I don't do range blocks but here is a list of admins who do. Otherwise, I suggest you go to WP:AN. I'm sorry to hear about all that you are going through, and if there's anything else I can do (e.g. talk page semiprotection) please let me know. Best, SpencerT•C 14:51, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
