- I also notice that you've contributed some information concerning Warner Bros. Animation, ie Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs, and Lauren Bacall in Slick Hare. If you have a piqued interest in animation and related projects, you might consider joining the animation Wiki-project (or, for a more general scope, the wiki-project dedicated to films). I'm an active participant of both myself, and I'm sure we'd all love to see you around. Have a Happy New Year! — Cinemaniac (talk • contribs) 22:03, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
Small edit, great edit
[edit]Wow. Just your one little edit, and the article gets historical context and makes sense. I'm frankly envious - I can only wish I'll someday make an edit like that. Well done indeed! --Shirt58 (talk) 10:07, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Madeira uprising moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Madeira uprising, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 18:25, 30 April 2018 (UTC)

Siege of Asemus moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Siege of Asemus. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Bobby Cohn (talk) 01:41, 29 July 2024 (UTC)

- Russian Wikipedia has expanded information on both this and the Commander Islands raid. See https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D1%83%D0%BC%D0%B0_(%D0%B1%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%BD%D0%B5%D0%BF%D0%B0%D0%BB%D1%83%D0%B1%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B9_%D0%BA%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%B9%D1%81%D0%B5%D1%80)
- Quoted (via Google Translate): From 6 August to 25 August , Suma, under the flag of Rear Admiral Togo Masamichi and Izumi conducted reconnaissance of the southern coast of Kamchatka and the Commander Islands . Having left Korsakovsk on 6 August , the ships arrived at Shimushu (Shumshu) Island on 10 August . On August 12, the ships split up in Vilyuchenskaya Bay: Suma headed for Petropavlovsk , and Izumi headed for the Cape Vertikalny lighthouse to search for retired lieutenant Shigetada Gunji ( Japanese:郡司成忠) (in Russian-language sources - Sechu Gunji) [ 45 ] who had been detained by the Russian authorities . Suma, approaching Petropavlovsk , fired at the barracks, but, having encountered no resistance, landed troops. At the roadstead, the American steamship Australia was detained with a cargo of military contraband and sent with a prize crew to Yokosuka [ 46 ] [ 47 ] . On August 16, Suma and Izumi approached Bering Island , where a landing force was sent to inspect the village of Nikolskoye [ 48 ] . On August 19, the ships returned to Petropavlovsk , where on August 20 , a landing force was sent again, leaving a letter to the district chief demanding the release of retired lieutenant S. Gunji. On August 25, Suma and Izumi returned to Korsakovsk [ 49 ] .
- I can't find English sources for this, but find it notable that the Japanese made landings in and briefly occupied both Petropavlovsk and Bering Island. Rwestera (talk) 23:04, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
