Hello, I'm Bagumba. Your recent edit to the page Julius Randle appears to have added premature information about a reported sports transaction, so it has been removed for now. The transaction is based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. If you believe the transaction has been completed, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 03:10, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Caseyweinstein.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Caseyweinstein.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 18:09, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Deval2020logo.png

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Deval2020logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:27, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Joesestak2020.svg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Joesestak2020.svg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 20 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Bloomberg2020.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:03, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Hillary O'Connor Mueri requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hillary O'Connor Mueri. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. A tag has been placed on File:Andria McClellan.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

Non-free images of living people

[edit]

Hi,

You have uploaded some non-free images of a living person. Almost all such images are not compliant with Wikipedia's guidelines for non-free content. In particular, it contravenes policy point 1 which covers replaceability. From the guidelines, "Non-free content should not be used when a freely licensed file that serves the same purpose can reasonably be expected to be uploaded, as is the case for almost all portraits of living people." Please don't upload any more non-free images of living people. They will just be deleted. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 01:44, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

February 2021

[edit]

Hello. I’m here to ask that you please have a read of the Wikipedia policy on including or excluding political endorsements before you add any more. It can be found at WP:ENDORSE. Thank you in advance for making sure to avoid disruption by only adding endorsements within policy. Cheers, Innisfree987 (talk) 04:28, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Roshjogers, I'm not sure this qualifies as free use. If it were a US gov't image, it would, but I'm not sure an Ohio government image is free use, and since she's still alive, we can't argue it's fair use. What is your thinking? —valereee (talk) 20:02, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. You haven't responded to posts on your talk page or any other talk page. Please start responding to talk pages messages. —valereee (talk) 20:03, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Eagles247, I'm wondering if we need an indef to get this person's attention? They've literally never edited a talk or user talk, including their own. —valereee (talk) 20:08, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Valereee: Considering this user has received over 15 messages about uploading improper fair use images to Wikipedia, and is still persisting in doing so, I think it makes sense to block again. Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:14, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Eagles247, Just saw this, I was in an exam for class. I did not realize a government photo was not fair use. I apologize. I will say my last block was uncalled for though as citing a tweet for an organizational political endorsement is allowed according to wikipedia guidelines. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roshjogers (talkcontribs) 20:17, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for responding here. Your second block was after I saw your edit here, changing Charles London's page without citing a source, which happened right after your first block expired for the same issues. I will say however, that you have been better at citing sources since the blocks. As to the fair use images, I think your explanation and apology is acceptable, and a block should not be necessary. One of the key principles on Wikipedia is communication, and I implore you to ask questions and discuss changes if you aren't sure what to do or how to go about things on here. You can post on my talk page (and I'm sure Valereee's talk page is open as well) if you have questions in the future. Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:25, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Roshjogers, thanks for responding. US gov't photos are free use, but others may not be. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and honestly, you need to respond to messages here on your talk page. We want your participation, but you've repeatedly made edits that cause work for other volunteers, and this is the first time you've responded to a message on your talk page. You really need to respond to every well-intentioned editor who posts to your talk, and you need to listen to what they're telling you. —valereee (talk) 20:27, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've been advised of this in the past and I am kindly ask you to please respect this policy. Please do not update player pages until the transaction is confirmed by the team, regardless of how many insiders report it.--Rockchalk717 20:54, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Los Angeles Rams

[edit]

On November 11, 2021, Beckham reached a deal to sign with the Los Angeles Rams.[1]

Its confirmed now dude

I'm aware of this, but when you first made the edit it was not announced by the Rams. It's extremely uncommon the official announcement from the team comes this quickly after the reports first surface. That article was posted at 12:49 pm LA time. You made your edit at 12:46 pm. Please remember this going forward as this was a fluke occurrence everything coming together this quickly. Normally its at least a couple hours before it's confirmed by the team.--Rockchalk717 21:38, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The notification came out a couple minutes earlier on their app than from their website. I should've waited three minutes for the official article and apologize for that but respectfully don't lecture me on posting etiquette when the confirmation was already out. I was adding the article to the Los Angeles Rams section when you reverted everything and deleted all my edits.

I reverted because your edits were against policy. The confirmation was posted to the Rams website literally 2 minutes before I reverted and I don't think anybody had really seen it yet, especially since the social media post from the Rams didn't occur until 1:22 pm LA time. Don't confuse lecturing with making sure you, who has a history of editing before official announcements are made, are aware of the policy. I was going to keep it as just an advisement until I saw previous warnings about exactly this.--Rockchalk717 21:54, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Psi Upsilon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dick Barrett. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:06, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

my bad, because Pippen Jr Confirmed it I thought it would be good to post and use TMZ as a secondary source. My bad. I do have a question though. For people who are on summer league deals does their infobox get updated like a normal players would or would they still be considered free agents Roshjogers (talk) 14:39, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Andrew Trainer moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Andrew Trainer, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 13:15, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
