Sourcing with Procycling stats
Hey Relentlessly,
I've noticed when you source results in the tables, you just set up an external link to procycling stats rather than using the cite web template. I'd recommend switching to using the cite web template so that the link could be better represented and included in the references section at the bottom of the article, as well as that being the standard procedure when using sources. Other than that keep up the quality work my friend.
On another note, I appreciate the reviews on the two articles I have at GAR right now. I'm currently back at school, so my time will be limited; I'll make sure to check at least once a day though. Disc Wheel (T + C) 16:02, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Disc Wheel. Thanks for your comments – I'll be doing some GA-reviewing tomorrow or Tuesday after a very busy few days at work! I'm going on holiday in a fortnight, so let's make sure they're done by then if we can! I'm sure they won't be too much work after looking at your other work.
- Re the external links, it's purely aesthetics. I don't like "Source: [54]". I think it looks really odd and would never be seen outside Wikipedia. I think the external link looks better; I can quite understand what you mean, however. Do you think this would be OK?

- I see what you mean about the aesthetics, the issue is just a very minor thing in your super nice work. I don't see a real issue with that way, although I could see someone being annoyed by the large row that has only the [1] in it. But this is how I would do it(below) - if I did use that style of tables for the race stats. Have fun on the vacation though! Disc Wheel (T + C) 03:02, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

- Yes, Disc Wheel, I can see where you're coming from with that, though generally we're discouraged from putting footnotes in headers, and generally other publications would put the source of tabular data at the bottom rather than the top. On a slightly different subject, I personally think we need to change the table format to use the correct caption syntax:

- Hi Zwerg Nase and thanks for reviewing these. Please note that I'm on holiday from 4 to 19 September and, while I may have sporadic access to the internet, I won't be doing any significant editing in that time. Perhaps you can extend the hold period for any concerns? Many thanks. Relentlessly (talk) 10:11, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Relentlessly: I'll see if I can just take care of everything that I find myself, otherwise, I'll give you a hold until after your holiday. Zwerg Nase (talk) 11:44, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

2015 UCI World Tour
Hey! Since you have done a lot of this year's cycling articles, I was wondering if you have any plans to bring the articles for all the 2015 World Tour races to GA? With those and the main article, it could become a Good Topic, which would be pretty cool. I would volunteer to help and take over some articles. Let me know if you're interested :) Zwerg Nase (talk) 11:17, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
- This might also interest Mattsnow81, Disc Wheel and BaldBoris. Zwerg Nase (talk) 11:19, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah, it was kind of an ambition at one point. I lost steam in the spring and early summer, and I know Pais Vasco, Romandie, Catalunya, Poland and the Dauphiné will be very big tasks. Races like Vattenfalls and Plouay will be difficult as well, because there is so little information about them in terms of profiles, routes, etc in any reliable source. The main article would need some work, but could become a featured list.
- I'm thinking the Vuelta could be a Good Topic without too much effort, maybe even a Featured Topic. Though I am going on holiday next week!
- I'm up for this, though I don't think I can do it alone! Perhaps we should discuss this at WT:CYCLING. Relentlessly (talk) 11:33, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
- That sounds promising! As far as I can see, the Vuelta is moving along quite well. I will try to do the Cyclassics, hopefully I'll have better chances of finding sources due to no language barrier... Zwerg Nase (talk) 11:39, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
- Good stuff. I can handle Italian, French and Spanish and can make decent sense of Dutch, but my German is a little worse than non-existent! Relentlessly (talk) 11:41, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
- Well, apart from a catastrophe, I'll sure work to make the two Canadian WT races good for GA, thanks for the heads up. :) Mattsnow81 (Talk) 20:07, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

- Thank you for the link! I noticed that the "series"-parameter in the infobox is not dealt with in the same matter in all the World Tour articles. The TDU has first race <- World Tour -> Paris-Nice, while most others have World Tour, race x of x. We should agree on one way to do it. Zwerg Nase (talk) 19:53, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Hey! If you have time in or after your vacation, let me know what you think of the article in its current form and what I might still improve :) Enjoy your free time! Zwerg Nase (talk) 14:51, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Zwerg Nase. I can't do a property copy edit for now, but I do have one or two thoughts. First, I don't like cyclingquotes as a source – I don't think it meets WP:RS. Second, the lead needs a bit of fleshing out. Lastly, I was left slightly sobering what happened to Kittel – are there any more details? Looking good, though and I'll do copy edit when I'm back. Relentlessly (talk) 11:56, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- I would say Cyclingquotes is a complementary source. I read it a lot since the TdS work and some articles were only speculation turned as facts. It's a shame, they seem passionate about writing. I asked them a couple of times on twitter to please disclose their writers, as it is impossible a single writer (Emil Axelgaard) comes up with everything. Mattsnow81 (Talk) 01:11, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
- Pretty much my opinion too. Relentlessly (talk) 01:22, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
- I used it complementary in this case, since they gave some information on the route that I couldn't find in other sources and I felt the article would suffer from missing them. And in this case, they actually gave the author (Axelgaard himself). As for Kittel, he dropped back on the climb. Since that is not unusual for a sprinter, I don't know what else to write about it... Any more thoughts on the lead? I feel it is quite good as it is, giving a short overview over the race. Zwerg Nase (talk) 17:10, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
- Also, I am quite proud about the photos I acquired *give self a pat on the back* :) Zwerg Nase (talk) 17:11, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

Image stacking
I thought I'd let you know that 2015 Liège–Bastogne–Liège, 2015 Il Lombardia and 2015 Giro d'Italia (maybe more) suffer from bad image stacking. It may all fit in well when you view it on your screen, but you need to think about larger resolutions. It's best to just one image for the smaller sections and then for bigger ones alternate them left then right. BaldBoris 15:01, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hmm, thanks Boris. I have thought about it and tried it on a number of screen resolutions. I thought it looked fine on large screens, whereas alternating them didn't look good on small screens. I'll return to them. Relentlessly (talk) 15:05, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
- There's just too many images for the amount of prose. TBH I would've usually have gone and taken some out, but I wanted you understand my point and hopefully do it yourself. BaldBoris 16:20, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
- Point well taken. Will do so and check back in! Relentlessly (talk) 16:22, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
- Is that any better, BB? Relentlessly (talk) 16:44, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
- Design/style isn't an exact science, although the phrase "less is more" comes to mind. I think it's very important, and can finish off a well-written article. Too many images can suffocate the prose. BaldBoris 17:19, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

INA GOCE review and comments
Hi Relentlessly, massive thanks for your GOCE review. You mentioned in the talk page there were dead links (which I can address), but also there are statements unsupported by references and OR/NPOV. Recognising that you have undertaken a mammoth task just now on the same article, may I be a pest and ask you to highlight which parts are unsupported and where there maybe OR. I would like to address this before proposing an FAC on the article. BW rueben_lys (talk · contribs) 13:37, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, rueben_lys. Yes, I can do. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. One notable thing I picked up regularly was things like "Several historians, including X, believed...", with a citation only showing X's support. Also, the prose is probably not yet at FA standard, though it is significantly cleaner than before. Relentlessly (talk) 13:45, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!
The Running Man Barnstar | ||
No man might be able to win all three Grand Tours in one year, but for the first time, all three articles of one year are now good articles. Thank you for your contributions to this! Zwerg Nase (talk) 13:14, 21 October 2015 (UTC) |
Thanks!
Hi! I just want to say thank you for your copy-editing on Unlocked. Furthermore, I want you to ask if you have time to review the article "Give Me Your Everything" against the GA-criteria? It is a very short article. Regards and all the best!! Cartoon network freak (talk) 14:29, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Cartoon network freak. No problem with that copyedit. I don't think I can take on that GA review, however. I can manage a copyedit, but I'm not going to be able to be able to assess sources, scope, etc. Relentlessly (talk) 14:34, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
2015 Giro d'Italia has been nominated for Did You Know
Hello, Relentlessly. 2015 Giro d'Italia, an article you either created or significantly contributed to, has been nominated to appear on Wikipedia's Main Page as part of Did you know. You can see the hook and the discussion here. You are welcome to participate! Thank you. APersonBot (talk!) 00:22, 22 October 2015 (UTC) |
Completed copyedits
Hi, Relentlessly, and thanks very much for your help at WP:GOCE/REQ. Since some of the requests have been there awhile (and the requesters may have given up hope :-)), it's nice to leave {{GOCEtb}} on their talk page when you finish a request. Thanks again and all the best, Miniapolis 19:40, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, Miniapolis. I'm enjoying it, though I have got some article writing to do after the blitz! I'll definitely use that template in future. It's not in the instructions in WP:GOCE/R – perhaps it should be? Relentlessly (talk) 20:15, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the poke; I'll add it to the instructions. All the best, Miniapolis 23:08, 22 October 2015 (UTC)
GOCE review Clube Atlético Mineiro
Hello, Relentlessly, I'm here to thank you for your work in copy-editing the Clube Atlético Mineiro article, it certainly flows much better now. If I may ask for you help again, you added a clarification tag in the lead section, related to the club's mascot/nickname. It currently reads:
"The club's mascot, a rooster, has been strongly associated with the club since its introduction in the 1940s, and through the years came to be a nickname by which it is commonly known."
Do you think a change to...
"The club's mascot, a rooster, has been strongly associated with the club since its introduction in the 1940s. Throughout the years, the word galo (Portuguese for rooster) became a nickname for the club itself."
... would solve the clarification problem and be a better phrasing? Cheers. Felipe Bini (talk) 17:31, 23 October 2015 (UTC)
- Felipebini, I suggest "Over the years", but yes, that's exactly what needs clarifying! Relentlessly (talk) 18:58, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

DYK for 2015 Giro d'Italia
On 27 October 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 2015 Giro d'Italia, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Alberto Contador (pictured) won the 2015 Giro d'Italia, without winning any stage victories? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/2015 Giro d'Italia. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Hey Relentlessly, I saw your post about Chris' recent edits, and I posted to his talkpage to ask him to stop his disruptive edits, for the second or third time, but he has now asked me stop posting there, so I thought I'd just drop you a quick note to say that he has no justification whatsoever for his edits. Using a script and blindly following something he considers to be a "policy" (as that's how he enforces it) is entirely inappropriate. Please continue to do what you do and improve Wikipedia for our readers, and don't be bullied by users like Chris. Please let me know if his disruption continues to get in the way of providing our readers with the best we can do. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:47, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- Many thanks, The Rambling Man, I greatly appreciate that. Relentlessly (talk) 20:53, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- No worries, don't be dissuaded by such disruptive influences. Just because you want to assist our readers, that shouldn't be "fixed" by a script and a user who thinks he knows best. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:55, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- +1. Harrias talk 21:02, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- Despite my making clear some time ago that my edits to citations have nothing to do with any scripts, The Rambling Man is still repeating this lie. I take full responsibility for any edits I make, both scripted and unscripted, and none of them are made 'blindly'. I keep asking editors why they insist on adding this useless information, which runs contrary to our agreed guidelines for citations (not some notion I've made up, but guidelines agreed by consensus) and they keep telling me that 'a reviewer asked for it', but noone has yet given me an actual example of a reviewer asking for it. Given the necessary information, I will happily go off and have this discussion with any such reviewers, and stop bothering you about it, so please give me some examples. Colonies Chris (talk) 22:27, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- For one, Wikipedia:Citing sources states for webpages, in its list of "What information to include": "publisher, if known". To be honest, a lot of your changes seem positive, but some such as these are unnecessary. Even if it isn't required, there can be little harm in offering more information in a citation. I know from experience that when trying to re-cite a dead link, the more information the better! Harrias talk 22:36, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- It's also worth noting that you appear to be enforcing the notes on a template as if they are policy, which is clearly incorrect. If an editor wishes to add as much information as possible, then they should be encouraged to do so, not prevented through disruptive editing. The Rambling Man (talk) 07:11, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- Colonies Chris as you've decided to ban me from your talk page, I'll have to resort to this pathetic communication mode. The "blindness" comes from you seeming to proclaim that (a) you (and you alone) know what all of our readers find useful and (b) a policy-style adherence to the guidelines on how to use a template. You've already been told a number of times that others disagree with your personal approach, you've already been asked to stop disruptively editing articles with and without your scripts, and you're now being asked to move on to do something positive rather than negative for our readers. After all, if a reader does want to understand and read more about an obscure or even regular publisher, what's your problem with that? In fact, if linking publishers is such a massive issue for you, why not start an RFC or edit the template so publishers can't be linked? The advice given with template descriptions is simply that, advice, it's not a guideline, it's not a policy, so attempting to roll out your own interpretation unilaterally is absolutely unacceptable and will be reverted on sight from now on. In the meantime I'd suggest you do something else instead to actively improve Wikipedia rather than pursue this odd crusade. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:46, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

Since the principal reason given for linking these values is 'a reviewer asked for it', this argument here could be brought to an end if anyone would just give me an example of that so I can take the discussion elsewhere. Colonies Chris (talk) 09:23, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Chris, I honestly have better things to do with my time than search through all my reviews and find the specific request. The point is that the publisher field is certainly not against any guideline; indeed it is encouraged by the template documentation. It's perfectly reasonable and it is certainly not "minor fixes". I simply cannot see why you are making such a fuss over this. From everything I have seen, the precise manner of citations is considered Not a Big Deal (cf. WP:CITEVAR). Relentlessly (talk) 09:59, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Unfortunately "Chris knows best" (tm) so arguing with him is a waste of time. As I advised your earlier Relentlessly, just continue doing what you're doing, there's nothing wrong with it. The Rambling Man (talk) 11:01, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Quite right. This conversation is going nowhere. Relentlessly (talk) 11:10, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

- Colonies Chris should be aware that he is now making certain edits which are disruptive and contrary to consensus. Of course he won't let me tell him that directly, so we have to do it this way, but it's necessary to tell him to absolutely stop claiming that he has a consensus to do what he has done. Stop it now and stop discouraging other editors please. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:45, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi Relentlessly,
Thank you again for your contributions to the Frank Jenner FAC; they have been helpful in improving the article. I hope we can come to a consensus about what to do about these two remaining minor issues (the comma and the "T").

- Done, Neelix. If you're able, would you be able to take a look at my current FAC? No worries if you can't, of course. Relentlessly (talk) 22:12, 16 October 2015 (UTC)
- I really appreciate your support at my current FAC. I have a very busy weekend ahead of me, but I will try to review 2015 Vuelta a España sometime next week. Neelix (talk) 00:54, 17 October 2015 (UTC)

- Thanks for your very helpful contributions, Neelix. Yes, I would be very glad to. Possibly not today, but by the weekend. Relentlessly (talk) 17:07, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
Fancy a peer review?
I after a prose review of Craig Kieswetter over at Wikipedia:Peer review/Craig Kieswetter/archive1. You've reviewed a few things of mine (and other people's) at FL that I've seen, and your suggestions have generally significantly improved the prose, something I tend to struggle with in the jump between GA and FA. Any nit-picking and tinkering you can suggest would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Harrias talk 17:35, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Harrias: Glad to. If I can put in a plug for my current FAC at the same time... Relentlessly (talk) 17:41, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- Cheers, I'll take a look at that FAC later! Harrias talk 17:43, 21 October 2015 (UTC)

Cyclingnews.com URLs
You don't need to archive the race and preview URLs for Cyclingnews.com. This is because they're not dead, just replaced for the next season. I emailed the editor a few years ago explaining this issue and he told me they need to do it for SEO. When you first cite them just replace .com/RACENAME/results with .com/races/RACENAME-YEAR/results. Should've put this info on the project page. BaldBoris 18:04, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hmm, yes, I just saw your edits on much the same lines as mine, but clearly with a more elegant solution. I don't think Internet Archive links are a problem per se, but clearly they aren't necessary. Thanks for your good solution! Relentlessly (talk) 18:09, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
2015 bike races - coordination
Hey! Hope you arrived back from vacation well rested :) I saw that while the first half of the Vuelta stages are a GAN, the second half breaks of after stage 16, possibly because you went on vacation (?). Will you continue that article? I could review both in the next round of the GA Cup (the Eneco review should hopefully put me through to the final round). I would volunteer to take over the three Cobbled classics that still need attention. Maybe you could work over 2015 Liège–Bastogne–Liège, considering that you already did the other Ardennes classics? Once I find the time, I would also do the List of teams and cyclists in the 2015 Giro d'Italia and model it after your Tour list. I think if we share the workload we could really get all the World Tour articles to GA before the end of the year :) Zwerg Nase (talk) 14:00, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi ZN. Yes, I was away for a fortnight. I've done one stage since I got back! Tomorrow's my day off, so I should get a few done then, hopefully. They're not hard to do, but they take an hour or so per stage. I can certainly do LBL, and I fancy doing Il Lombardia too. Now the Tour list is (finally!) past FLC, I'll polish up the Vuelta one on similar lines. Thanks for these notes – I can't see why it would be impossible to get a FT if we really work at it. Relentlessly (talk) 17:10, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
- Wonderful! I saw the FL today as well, very good work! You can always see the progress of the project in my sandbox. Zwerg Nase (talk) 18:14, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
- Btw, that was a world championship achieved in style by Sagan! Too bad for Degenkolb, he looked to be in a good spot there for a while, but in the end I guess the tank was just empty at the last climb... Zwerg Nase (talk) 12:01, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- Zwerg Nase, I've been looking at your sandbox and I'm wondering if we can cut it down slightly. I think we only need to include the Grand Tour articles themselves; the lists and stage report articles would make better subtopics, I think. I'm also not sure about the world championships TTT – it gave points for the World Tour but is it actually part of it?
- If not, the remaining articles are:
- 2015 UCI World Tour – probably needs working up into a list
- List of 2015 UCI WorldTeams and riders
- 2015 Gent–Wevelgem (mostly done)
- 2015 Tour of Flanders
- 2015 Paris-Roubaix
2015 Liège–Bastogne–Liège- 2015 GP Ouest-France
- 2015 Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec
- 2015 Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal
2015 Il Lombardia (on its way)- 2015 Volta a Catalunya
- 2015 Tour of the Basque Country
- 2015 Tour de Romandie
2015 Giro d'Italia- 2015 Critérium du Dauphiné
- 2015 Tour de Pologne
- 2015 Tour Down Under
- The one-day races are fairly easy. The stage races take a lot longer! I have Il Lombardia underway and have started looking at LBL. Maybe I'll try to make Disc Wheel happy and do the Giro after that! Relentlessly (talk) 21:51, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
- I've never done a Good Topic, so I don't know how strict the regulations are. It would make sense that we need to do all the race articles. The WC TTT should be fairly simple (it is also in quite a good state already I believe). I can expand that one with a short report (not to much to report though) and a pre-race favorites overview. Zwerg Nase (talk) 09:18, 1 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hey guys, I just wanna say great work on all the cycling articles (@Zwerg Nase: & @Relentlessly:) you guys are crushin' them. I hate that I cannot help out, but school is just consuming all the free time that I had before; otherwise I'd be puttin' in the work like the two of you are. Disc Wheel (T + C) 12:44, 11 October 2015 (UTC)
- If your're deadset on getting this done, I'll help out by doing the Dauphiné. Strictly speaking, I don't think the GT teams and stages need to be included, but if so, I'll the Tour stages as well. Also, a conflict of interest issue may arise as the only person passing the GA quality articles is the person behind the idea of the featured topic (although realistically it'll only be a good topic). BaldBoris 18:02, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
- ? BaldBoris 22:04, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi BB, sorry, I didn't see this before. If you can do the Dauphiné that would be amazing. I agree that it can only be a GT, especially as cycling articles don't seem to get many reviews at FAC! I don't think that ZN's reviewing lots of the articles is a problem, but it would be worth declaring at WP:FTC if we get to that point. I think the articles that need including would be:
- the 28 race articles
- List of 2015 UCI WorldTeams and riders
- 2015 UCI World Tour
- Now all the grand tours are done, I'm going to work on the two remaining monuments and then try to finish off the one-day races. The stage races, especially the more obscure ones, take quite a bit longer! By my reckoning more than half of the articles are done now. That's quite an achievement in itself! Relentlessly (talk) 22:16, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- Right, I'll get on that asap. Yes it'll be pretty epic to get them all to GA. I just meant that someone may have to check to see if any shortcuts were made, nothing to worry about. Yes I know, but you can't really blame them, cycling is quite a niche sport, and even any sporting event isn't really that interesting to most. If you do get it to FA, it would be good to do the other GTs as well. BaldBoris 01:26, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

Dark Angel (TV series) copyedit
Hi, Relentlessly. You began copyediting this article on the November 2, but haven't done anything since then and haven't marked it {{Done}} on WP:GOCE/REQ. Did you finish the copyedit or expect to continue? All the best, Miniapolis 17:45, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Miniapolis. Thanks for the prod. To be honest, I'd completely forgotten. I'm on it. Relentlessly (talk) 18:12, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks very much; it's easy to forget, and we really appreciate your help. Have fun and all the best, Miniapolis 00:02, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
- Um, yeah, Miniapolis, so I did copyedit this, and just forgot to make the note. Silly me. Relentlessly (talk) 22:13, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
I had intended to message you since your message to my talk page quoting "A moment's research found a wealth of sources about him" but only just got back to it. The Italian website reference you added is a self published source, which probably sourced the birth/death information from Wikipedia, so is likely circular, IMO. A reliable source is needed for a bio-type article. I've just tagged 2005 original research for 1983 birth detail which is dubious, cited in 2014 by an article which does not support the actual prose content. Luckily I noticed what I thought was a discrepancy
I've moved the two book descriptions into a dedicated heading - you can't use his own book titles as a reference for the prose. The sources are still insufficient to satisfy notablity, but I can see lt's important to you; I am an inclusionist, however, and it's looking better now.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 20:06, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. 2015 Tour of Chongming Island World Cup
Could you cast your experienced eye over 2015 Tour of Chongming Island World Cup and let me know what you think? I sort of started it on a whim to get rid of a red link, and seem to have got it to a state where I'm pondering a GA nomination. Harrias talk 19:12, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

Congratulations on the FA!
Just wanted to say congratulations on the promotion of 2015 Vuelta a España to featured article status! It's a great article, and I learned a lot about cycling while doing the source review for it. I hope you keep up the good work as Wikipedia is much better for it. I'm looking forward to seeing more articles like this! Wugapodes (talk) 00:13, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
- Many thanks, Wugapodes for this and for your helpful comments. It was a bit of a marathon and I'm very pleased with it! I'm not sure I'll be doing another cycling FAC for a while – I have a biographical one I want to do) – but I will at some point. Many thanks again. Relentlessly (talk) 08:33, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

HIAG copyedits
Hi -- thank you for your helpful edits. I went through the article and updated the areas where clarifications were needed. Could you please have a look to make sure the changes address your concerns? Here's the diff. K.e.coffman (talk) 23:20, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- Hi K.e.coffman. I enjoyed editing the article and learning about something new – this is exactly the kind of article I enjoy copyediting! The only bit that I remain unsure about is "The organisation also asserted that the Waffen-SS was merely "the fourth arm of the Wehrmacht"; these claims were simply not true." This is still a very big claim to make without an obvious source, even if it is as true as I think it is! But otherwise, yes, your edits help a great deal. Relentlessly (talk) 23:22, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- I rephrased it further and attributed to Large, so it's clear that it's coming from him. I'm glad you enjoyed the article; I also learned a lot while researching it. Thanks again! K.e.coffman (talk) 04:35, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

Reflist preview tool
Hey, thanks again for the reflist preview toggle script that you wrote, it works great. I just happened to notice that it doesn't roll up the references in a section preview if the page does not have a reflist on it. It's not something worth whining or panicking about, but I thought you might like to know. Cheers! Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 19:29, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
Hey! Could you take a look at my latest revisions to the article? I feel that definitely the route sections might need some more information. I always find that you write those very well. Profile and GPX
Hello, I am a French contributor and I discovered your very impressive work on the cycling races. I saw that you are quite skilly with GPX and that you are able to create race profile. Your method is described on commons. So you create a route, lets say on google map, a export the GPS coordinates. Fine. My question is the following: do you think that it is possible to get with these coordinates, not only the profile, but the map at the same time. Now I draw on the map, which is correct but not perfectly clean (and obviously not the method used by the professionnals), I suppose GPS is the answer, but I am not very experienced in the domain. Thank you for your help. Psemdel (talk) 08:33, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Psemdel. The answer is "I wish it were". I've tried to do it, but so far have failed to create anything useful, let alone beautiful! I will go to Wikipedia:Graphics Lab/Map workshop at some point to ask for help. Perhaps there's a Commons equivalent? Let me know if you see anything useful! Relentlessly (talk) 11:19, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for the quick answer. I have still to progress with mapping tools. I think that I will finish the cycle I started with all classics (I still have the Amstel to do) with my present method. Later, I will try to master all those tools and try to do better. I will need a lot of patience. Psemdel (talk) 11:49, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
